Teena is my favorite singer/songwriter of all time. Her music was a comfort to me in middle school and she got me through some tough times in high school. i saw her in concert twice. The day her death was announced, i laid in bed in the dark all day. i don't even think i ate anything. i was depressed for a while. It's so nice to see people giving her the spotlight, and i really appreciate this loving documentary. You've done a fine job! Thank You!
IMO, Teena was a lot like Prince, no not just like Prince in the same vein, but like Prince to where there was no one like her before, and there will never anyone like her after, probably one of the most unique artist of our times, so prolific and poetic. And just like Prince, Luther and Tina, the world is just not the same without them, you can feel the emptiness . Tina’s passing hurt me as much as those artist deaths , and just like them, I also morned the fact that I would never see Lady T perform live again …RIP Teena Marie 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾💐💐💐💐🎤🎤🎤🎸🎸🎸💔💔💔😥😥🥺😢
I don’t know if I could pick one favorite Lady T jam! I would have to do a list - Ooh La La La - I Need Your Lovin’ - Midnight Magnet - Off the slept-on Cash Money album I loved “Honey Call” and “The Mackin’ Game”
Really good video... Being a male Teena was my and still is my favorite female vocalist. Lady T... was singing to and about me in my teenage brain, her vocal range is still unmatched. Teena composed, preformed & wrote wonderful material; bottom line she was the "Total Package." Truly missed by myself & her fans.
My favorite song is lover girl and out on a limb. I remember when I first heard it as a little girl when she was on Solid Gold the show back in the day day
I remembered in like 2001 or 2002, my mom made such of big deal of stopping by Sam Goody to pick up a Trena Marie CD. She ended up getting 2 compilations and playing them in the car on the way to dropping us off at our aunt's house. That was me and my little sister's intro to Teena Marie, although I recognized Ooh La La La from the radio in the 90s. I have enjoyed her music ever since.
Good god she looks like that new girl that’s out now. I’m a big fan of Teena and my sister is a fan of this girl named Chapel Roan. She came to me and said that they look alike and in the thumbnail I definitely see it.
My favorite track on "It Must Be Magic" is "Yes Indeed". It's probably my favorite of all her songs. You Know What? It's nearly impossible for me to pick a favorite Teena Marie song, because every album that she released from 1979 to 1994 had BANGERS on them! My least favorite album, however, is "Starchild". i like about two or three songs on it. Hate might be a strong word, but i have come to hate "Lovergirl". She has written and produced so many incredible tracks before and after "Lovergirl", but that song is her most popular? It's a good song, but it is way overplayed.
She made a great album when she was with Cash money records that album was pretty good and forget about pioneer which is a good word I would say legend I still think she got snub from the Grammys
i really enjoyed this video, but i don't understand why you played her performances and interviews so fast that she sounded like a cartoon character? it makes nooooo sense...
