      Arsene is an expert at economics, he knew exactly why they came in and what was going to happen. The UAE will run out of oil so they are funneling their money into sports to prepare for the potential loss from the eventual oil drainage.

    If City's owners don't like the rules they should sell the club to soneone who will respect them. For an innocent club they're acting as if they're guilty. If City lose, next week, the EPL will throw the book at them in November and they can expect relegation or being barred from European Competitions for 3-5 seasons. Their behaviour is shameful.

  • @kmart625
    @kmart625 3 месяца назад +5

    If they weren’t guilty then they wouldn’t be going down this path because the prems investigation would find them innocent. They’ll be found guilty and I think their title should be stripped and given to Arsenal and they should be relegated down to Sunday league

    Stan Kronkes wife is a part of the Walton family,who own Walmart.Would it be ok for arsenal to rename there stadium the “Walmart stadium” and funnel money through that source? Ofc it wouldn’t,it wouldn’t be a level playing field it’s a cyclical payment stream between two companies owned or partially owned by the same person.
    It’s got nothing to do with race or ethnicity,the same logic applies to American ownership.
    Great video Harry

      @wawitter11 3 месяца назад

      But there is a caveat, these laws haven’t stopped them from being more successful in growth or silverware. They have grown 1100% over the last decade. There are several rules that City have voted for that other clubs deem unfair or unlawful. You sign up to compete every year knowing the rules. If it was deemed unlawful when it passed why sign up, go on to win a treble, another EPL title, but choose now to file a suit. The rule has been there now for almost 4 years!

    February city started this process against the prem for apt. APT came in 2021 Citys 115 charges ended 2018 this does not affect city charges in any way shape or form no matter who wins the APT. Citys name has been in the mud since eufa charged them and all they was found guilty of was not cooperating with uefa. but we was labeled cheats by every fan base and when city was charged with 115 every rival saying city are GUILTY. remember when city got took over oil money blah blah blah but most united fans stopped that when jassim was trying to take over their club. Liverpool hacked into citys computers and the scouting database dont hear them being called cheats even though they paid 1 million in damages to city. for the 115 City said they were "surprised" by the charges and are supported by a "body of irrefutable evidence". They have the rulings from CAS to back them up yes the premier league charges are much more worse but the worse charges are the same charges EUFA charged city with and they could not add any evidence. IMO city will be found guilty of not cooperating with the prem. they will get either or both a big fine, docked points for maybe season 24/25 or 25/26 IMO

    Mark my words, Man City are trying to undermine the PL because they know if they win this case it opens up the serious discussion for a European super league and I wouldn’t be surprised if a select few of PL and certain European clubs hope they win the case !!!! I personally think if city’s owners lose this case and get found guilty for the FFP and PSR charges they should be forced to part ways from the club or the club whilst in their Stewardship be barred from competing in English or European Football !!!!

    Harry this is even bigger & wide ranging. The EPL has to come down hard on Man City because of the threat of the looming Football Regulator coming in if they don’t . Also there is an effect on the EPL brand as this drags on as another reason why this situation is thermonuclear now, going beyond sport. This could be a General Election matter although Starmer will not want to get dragged into this because of the geopolitical elements to it I.e. UK relations with UAE etc

    The integrity of the premiership is compromised because of the 115 charges against man city, This has gone on to long other teams had points deduction ,the fact that the uk government has admitted that its embassy in Abu Dhabi have discussed the 115 charges but are refusing to disclose the correspondence because it could risk the U.K. relationship with UAE, this asks the question is the British government taking an economic bribe investment into the British economy by the UAE,?maybe not time will tell.if so would you vote for a government like that? With the greatest of respect Harry, I see a completely different picture to the one that you are painting.
    My understanding is City (amongst other issues), are taking the PL to Arbitration, to decide whether the APT rules are legal. They were introduced Dec 2021 and have no bearing of the 115 charges levied against City as that was between 2009-2018.
    They are completely different and should/will in my mind be kept separate.
    Going back to the arbitration, either the rules are legal or they are not. If they are not legal, shouldn't we be happy that City have challenged? If we are unhappy, are we saying we want the PL to run illegally because it suits our narrative?
    If so, we are going down a very dangerous path. I feel we are no better than those that we seek to bring to justice.
    Have some faith Harry, worse case scenario, the PL will have to re-write/amend the APT rules

    • @arsenalpodcast
      @arsenalpodcast  3 месяца назад +3

      I understand where you’re coming from but I find it very hard to believe City would be pushing ahead with this and viewing it as a totally separate issue. I think they’re unhappy with the new rules, yes, but the impact it could have on their existing case gives them greater incentive to pursue it.
