Joe Parkinson On His Football Career And Winning The FA Cup Inside The Game Ep 14
I remember it took Joe a while to get into the team, but then it just clicked and he was a revelation and bossed the midfield. He shone brightly for a short-time until the injury got too much, but shone enough to be never forgotten by Blues fans.
Absolutely Gavin, was a great player 👍

Halfway through and this is brilliant, getting better and better these. Joe is a great fella 👍
Glad you are enjoying it mate 😃 Joe is brilliant
What a great interview. Joe was and still is my kind of football hero. Completely honest a true down to earth human being. A working class hero. Thanks for the memories you gave us all as a player in the royal blue shirt.
He's great mate and like you say a down to earth fella 👍
Mike Walker described Joe as “another brick in the wall”. Joe was the wall! Another great interview Baz & Joe is an absolutely class act. Everything you’d want from an Everton defensive mid. Thank you for everything you did for us Joe & keep well, you deserve nothing but the best.
Glad you enjoyed it Andrew. Joe was a great player and a great guest 😃
Had a pint with joe few months back he signed me season ticket 💙👍
He's a great fella mate, loved this Interview 👍
Absolutely brilliant this, what a guy. Brilliant these, genuinely one of the best things on RUclips.
Thank you mate and yes Joe was a great guest. 😃
What a player, so underrated, that semi against Tottenham. It all went wrong when Joe got injured later. I don't know what the stats were but it was obvious that they were much worse when he wasn't in the side. Mind you he nearly got me killed when I was in the west stand at stamford bridge in 1994 pretending not to be an evertonian and his header from the edge of the box hit the bar. Legend in my book.
Haha cheers for the comment Robbie, he was a great guest 👍
@@MoreThanAGame_ great choice as guest, he doesn't get anything like the credit he deserves.
@@robbieredball Agreed mate
I remember being a teenager and watching Joe Parkinson play.. I really admired his style.. Great video! 💙
Thanks mate 👍
Nice fella, really down to earth, biggest dog in the dogs of war but turns out he’s a real softie. Full respect from he other side of the park.
Cheers Gary 😊
Joe Parkinson, part of one my my favorite 2 year era's at Everton between 94 under Big Joe Royle , won the Cup and then had a good season in 1995/96
Cheers James 😊
I remember seeing Joe at Bournemouth and was easy to know he'd be able to step up to the mighty blues
And you were spot on mate 👍
brillient interview with a humble honest genuine guy joe not many players like him around today as they have it to easy
Cheers Gary and yes he's a lovely genuine fella. 👍
What a man, proud you were part of our history Joe
Great fella mate 👍
Joe has always been my hero and I finally met him a couple of years back, and he was as nice as I knew he would be to me. I was quite emotional. Got a good photo with him and he told me I looked like Gary Brabin, ha ha. Love Joe.
Haha great story 😃
Great interview Parkinson my favourite player back in the day.Nice to see he is doing well and what a great genuine bloke.
Cheers Lee, yes Joe doing well and it's great to see.
Big Joe!!! This really is getting bigger Baz. Here's to many more to come.

Great fella mate, thanks for the comment 👍
Brilliant interview Joe was an absolute monster

Top bloke, top player. Remember him having a pint with the fans in the black horse before the game when he was injured with his cast on a stool. One of us.
Just a great down to earth fella 👍
Another excellent interview, well played can't wait for the hopeful Coleman one when he retires.
Cheers John. Can't wait for that one either 😃
Love these interviews Baz, best wishes for the future Joe 💙
Thanks for listening Billy 💙
Baz great podcast as always proper old school joe was great for us he would get a lot more yellows/ reds if he played today though! hope you get some more on from 90s teams
Thanks mate, yes Joe was a tough player and he said himself he'd pick up a few more bookings nowadays 😂
Great Interview and a great man!
@MoreThanAGame_ - would love to hear from Tony Hibbert. Any chance of doing one of these with him?
Will try mate, although he's very private 👍
@@MoreThanAGame_ Yeah I did hear that and fair play if he doesn't want to. But I'm sure there are many Evertonians who'd like to hear of his experiences growing up and his time at the club.
Had a great career with us, shame he is one of many that never had a trophy to go with it.
What a fantastic interview! I loved Joe Parkinson fantastic player ❤
Thanks Stephen, what a guest Joe was 💙
Great interview, what a role model Joe is. Great pro. Don’t make them like this anymore do they

Anybody that has won major silverware in the English game is considered a legend, i salute you Joe 👍
Well said John 👍
Belter that mate i really enjoyed it. Some fantastic memories
Glad you enjoyed it mate 👍🏻
Dogs of war, good work lads
Cheers mate 👍
Richard Steadman was the goto surgeon who prolonged footballer. Paul Lake unfortunately was butchered by Man City He was misdiagnosed .. Paul Bracewell was treated badly until he went to to USA for his ankle treatment. The medical back up at UK clubs is poor . Players should do their own research and get the best medical advice The stadiums dont have MRI or x-ray facilities or mini clinics . Surely a medical base is a must
Glad he’s salty about the klinsmen pen. Only goal we conceded in that cup run.
Haha correct 👍
Great player wasnt afraid to get stuck in
Absolutely mate 👍
A good example as a professional honest and hard working geniune bloke
Remember how highly he was regarded at his peak. The England links were because he could do the defensive work, man mark, and always looked to push us forward with a crisp pass. Batty and Ince too often played it safe. Ince under Venables at Euro 96 was allowed to be more progressive. Under Hoddle, he always seemed swamped with the defensive responsibilities and his passes went sideways. JP would have been perfect in the England midfield.
All the more reason I didn't understand Neville's recent comment on the Overlap about Parkie and Ebbrell just booting the ball.
Weird comment to make about Parky booting the ball?! He was a good passer like you said. Gary's memory might be a bit sketchy haha
Was my favourite player at that time. Wonder who the footballer was that he didn't like at the cup final celebrations?
👀 👍
@MoreThanAGame_ cmon u prob know. Spill the beans!!!
Me dads favourite player when he was alive absolutely loved parkinson
Cheers for the comment mate, Joe was a great player and a great fella. Your Dad had good taste 👍🏻💙
Great player. Career sadly ended too early

@@MoreThanAGame_ did not miss anythng,, great interview Barry
Wasn’t Parkinsons nickname “the pie man” or have I just made that up??…
