Unfortunately a lot of the reviews are leaky diffs. I put gasket maker on the screw heads and then plugged the bottom of the holes on the opposite side of the diff. It works great it's been in my rustler for quite a while and has not leak to drop.
Sorry to hear about the bad experience with our part. It is not often that we get bad reviews and we hope you'll give us another chance to prove our brand worthy. I am always seeking good instructional videos for my customers. Maybe, if you could reach out the next time you are interested in a Hot Racing part, we can work something out.
@@christiansrcs7789 Hi there, You can reach out to us with proof of purchase and we can help with that. Also, those O rings are sold separately, part number RTE38CH.
what type of planetary gears is used in these diffs? is it bevled gears as a normal diffs for the 4wd version or the lie down planetary gears as in a stock diff? blown 4 set of stock diffs the last 4 times i used my 2wd slash so for the moment i made a spool of it by filling everything with CA glue.
The car/truck will rotate better if you use a hot diff versus the stock diff with bad horsie. I tried both, same setup, and the hot diff definitely lets the rear end rotate more and gives more bite. When spinning the rear tires they feel the same but perform very different.
Razor RC Have it in and operating for about 2 weeks now. So far much better than the Hot Racing sealed diff. The Hot Racing started leaking within 2 days.
I got some HR stuff for my 1/16 traxxas and it was also not very well thought out I want to say I got there piggy back shocks and turn buckles both are in the garbage now
noel 02 And I am one of those people. I have 2 of these installed in my Slash 2WD’s and not one drop has leaked in either! The only “bust” is this guys totally annoying laugh in all of his vids. Why is everything so funny? Just my opinion!
It says I’m the included instructions to use loktite. That way the screws don’t leak lol. Bit stupid to hate on a product when you can’t follow simple instructions...

What oil are you using?
What did you use to plug the bottom screw holes?

Blue Loctite. Mine doesn't leak.
Yep, mine leaked too. Not using it again. Now trying the FLM sealed diff.

Mine doesn't leak from the screws it leaks from the outdrives 😕 I'm using black grease, from day 1 this leaked while racing.
Traxxas has the new seal diff which I have. Magnum 272 is amazing. Can't beat it for $100
I wanna upgrade my trans but don’t wanna deal with it leaking
plenty of people with no issues, especially when you didnt follow the instructions. add loctite. not optional
I assume FLM is the next port of call. Bummer about the the HR diff. I was thinking of getting one for the kids Rustler. Maybe not now.

Dang maybe I should got the flm instead?
Everyone that uses the HR sealed diff has to use teflon tape on the screws. That should fix your problem.

He said he used blue loctite about a minute 30 into the video....
Use 500k Traxxas silicone diff fluid
Dang that sucks... next up, proline transmission!
Get a proline hd transmission its all metal gear with less rotating and a sealed diff
Razor RC oh that sucks
I have a proline transmission and it's over rated in my opinion
Moose knuckle Garage oh that sucks for a waist of over $120
