- Ben 10! One of Cartoon Network's longest running shows is getting a 2016 reboot! Whether you're a long time viewer of Ben 10, you just started watching the new series or maybe have only seen a few episodes, one thing is for certain... the show has changed quite a bit since it's conception. While the show still has some of the same characters, the latest reboot is certainly quite different than the original. Which is why Channel Frederator and Tooned Up is exploring Ben 10: Then VS. Now

I feel like they should give kids nowadays more credit. This new Ben Ten just feels like a dumbed down version similar to Teen Titans Go. Kids can handle darker tones. I didn't realize till now how much I loved Ben 10.
Also its like the cheaped out on animation work, especially cause they gave 4 legged aliens only two legs. Therefore it equals less work. Also Lucky Girl was such a cool concept and they jus destroy it. Sorry post video rant.

+Blizaga101 If only they would understand that they're the ones who decide what modern kids are going to watch. Kids haven't all actively decided to be interested in cheaply animated slapstick comedies. It's just what Cartoon Network is deciding to air now, so they have no choice but to watch them.
Of course cause in its essence it was a kid show, not denying that, but it at least it went places I never see this reboot going. Tone -ly it just won't fit and I feel bad that kids nowadays wont be able to experience those more mature storylines.

I feel like Cartoon Network has completely lost faith in action shows. It seems like they're just making every past action show into a full on comedy because they think it's more profitable.
They shouldn't have to announce that they're bringing back a beloved series so that they can later kill everyone's hopes and dreams by changing everything that they loved about it. Why can't they at least make *new* shows that are bad?
Rick Sanchez True, or they could even resurrect some of these cancelled action shows on Adult Swim. The new Samurai Jack episodes are a success because of it's hardcore fanbase, not toy sales. The higher ups at CN think really backwards most of the time.
I noticed that shows with action get much more appreciation. Ex. Steven Universe, Regular Show, Teen Titans, etc.
The Green Hill Zone and even if they sell toys, they probably could make money off of it. They don't need to reboot it. I remember when I always went on the CN website and looked at the Ben 10 toys for long time periods, especially the Omnitrix

Team old all the way! Ben 10 and Ben 10 Alien Force are great. If they want to continue it then it should be a continuation, not a stupid reboot like they did with Teen Titans Go or the Powerpuff Girls reboot.

They're still kids, just like the people who were tuning into the original series, so I don't see why you have to give the show a complete makeover. Just update it a bit more for modern times, and there you go. Don't turn one of their more serious, story driven shows into an 11 minute slap stick comedy. That's not a simple "reintroduction".
Teen Titans Go has improved over the seasons though. It actually can be very smart at some points.

the big problem is that kids nowadays have to watch stuff like this, yet they will learn nothing like we did back when we watched the originals. these new shows have no depth to them, the art is as simplistic as possible, and they they are incapable of making anything serious or intelligent because its too busy making nonsense jokes. kids wont look back at these reboots and say "wow that was an amazing show, the plot was great!". We used to watch shows for the experience and the story they created, now kids watch shows because its what is on T.V. and it kills time. reboots like this are just a complete insult to the source material and the originals. these shows are just getting stupider and more immature, there's no such thing as good material in cartoons these days. these shows are all so shallow and dumb, there's no takeaway from them, its just disappointing that these studios cant make anything beautiful or worthwhile. not every children's show needs to be lighthearted and comical.

I'm 12 now but when I was 4 Ben 10 the original was a lot better I couldn't stop watching it but the reboot makes me feel like I want to claw my eyes out.
+zorarkswrath I completely agree. It's like kids cartoon and kids shows in general are trying to tone down the violence and real moments to a point where the shows are just for babies at this point. I hate it when they censor the crap outta things. It's gotta so bad that when I found a more child friendly anime that had a couple of scenes that were violent and even showed a minor amount of blood I actually cheered because there was finally some action.

I am glad that Ben10 is getting an update. I am also glad that some things are still the same, like... Michael Morning Star still being a douche and some of Ben's aliens. I just hope they keep Gwen's alien side (Her being an anodite) and the plumbers as well. I understand that they can't keep everything the same, but I hope they keep the good characters around like... Keven, Vilgax, Charmcaster, the Forever Knights and plenty more. I just hop they don't mess it up like they did with the Powerpuff Girls and Teen Titans Go.
I hope that the show creates tell us that... this Ben is another Ben in an alternate time line. And that we get told all this by Paridaox that it is another Ben from another time line. Like how Paridaox told us about Ben 10,000. So even if Ben10 2017 is bad, Ben10 2005 would be safe cuz it's an alternate Ben in the new Ben10 (2017) show.

Ben 10 is one of my favorite franchises of all time. When they decided to reboot the show I was devastated. I was not a huge fan of Omniverse, but there is still plenty to love. I think of it had been more successful then we would have had another continuation like a Ben 10,000 show. That would have been a better idea than restarting everything.

I like how the Voice Actors from some of the series came back to reprise there roles it makes it better. I also find it funny that John Dimaggio is four arms which explains why he sounded familiar and Greg CIPES is stinkfly. Also you got to love Dwight Schultz because besides Mung from Chowder he's been the only guy to voice Dr. Animo in all the Ben 10 series.

This was very poorly researched and often the visuals on screen don't match what is being said in the video. At the end of the video you're just flat out wrong on some things.
Let's go through the video in order and point out what's wrong:
0:30 You're talking about Ben, but that's his son, Ken
1:12 You talk about the "overarching villain", but show Kevin 11,000 instead of Vilgax. Kevin 11,000 was only in 1 episode of the original series.
1:29 You say the original built up a storyline over the season, but they didn't. It wasn't really until we got to Alien Force that they told stories that stretches across a season.The original series was 90% episodic.
2:35 Again you claim it had a cohesive story, but it didn't. It was episodic adventures spanning across a single summer.
2:41 This is from Alien Force, not the original series. Is this video about the Original Ben 10 series vs the New Ben 10, or the original 4 Ben 10 series before vs the reboot?
3:31 It's Dr. Animo, not Dr. Amino
3:35 The picture shown here for the comparison is NOT from the 2016 reboot, it's from his appearance in Ultimate Alien. This is made even more mind boggling since you show clips of Zombozo's redesign in the reboot later in the video at 4:39.
4:28 He was not an adult in Alien Force, he's roughly the same age as Ben, Gwen, and Kevin - a teenager
5:36 In Alien Force when Gwen first met Michael they pretty much dated. Now after that Gwen discovered who he was and hated him, but before that they were definitely together.

Thank you, I caught a number of these and it drove me nuts. Especially the overarching villain thing, I mean come-ON! THAT'S BASIC STUFF! You barely have to reasearch at all to know that one! the other points you bring up also look good.

Ben 10 series continuation after "Ben 10 ultimate aliens" stopped because the writer who made Ben 10 into existence wanted to make Ben 10000 but unfortunately the writer died and omniverse and reboot versions are released 😟😢
Amrit Walia no not what happened. First of all Omniverse is a continuation of Ultimate Alien and the original animator quit because Dwayne McDuffie died. Second of all Dwayne McDuffie was one of the 3 main writers of Ben 10. He actually wrote the first episode of Omniverse and his plan was to write Omniverse and then go on to Ben 10,000, but Cartoon Network decided to end Omniverse before they could show him getting master control at 18. Do your research before you comment.
