- Hey everyone! Most of you have probably heard a thing or two about the Ben 10 Reboot, which premiered on Cartoon Network this year in a few countries. Unfortunately, it seems to be following the recent trend where reboots have been less serious than the source material, which is a very sad thing to see. So in today's video I am counting down my personal 10 least favorite things about the reboot. As I say in the video, I am not saying there is nothing good about it, however I have found so much that the original show does better than this one, that I thought I should break my silence about this new show and discuss what I don't like.

Why can't we get Ben 10,000! That seemed like a cool thing they did in the original series! I'd like to see a series with older ben!

The main issue would probably stem from having 10,000 accessible alien forms and only using like 15 of them over the course of 12 or 20 episodes. It'd take the crew years to design 10,000 aliens in total and then animate them per episode, and I dont think the number of available ones in the original series went over 30.
Omniverse had that issue big time and he only had 75ish aliens and used more then 4 an episode
i don't even recall him ever even using Jetray...
ScottaHemi I get you have to mix things up between series.. but they mix it up by replacing them with oddly similar counterparts. Jetray was pretty much thrown out for Astrodactyle Or when he was using Fasttrack over XLR8, Or Eatle over Upchuck.
It isnt that these aliens with similarities cant exist, its just when Ben HAS multiple aliens who are all meant to preform the same task it gets... eh.
And though ive seen people not think highly of Alien Force, I did like how Swampfire was a combination of Wildvine and Heatblast, and Big chill was sorta a combo of Ghostfreak and Artiguana

Yyyyeah, about that. As much as I enjoyed the previous series, they all have some flaws that really drives its quality down.
Ben 10: Initially came off as a generic kid super hero show from the characters to its tone.
Ben 10 Alien Force: Retcons a lot of things from the original to fit its tone.
Ben 10 Ultimate Alien: So much character derailing in this season
Ben 10 Omniverse: Remember all the complaints about the reboot made in this video? They can apply to this series.

BigK13372 when they made the omniverse series I didn't like it at much until the Halloween town type of action and end of series because it makes sense y they used the reboot because they were making something new u saw all new bens from different universes and timelines so it makes since it was ok tho but originals always are the best
When i was like 5 i got a omnitrix for christmas and i loved it soooooo much. When i brought it to school i kept switching aliens, and it made a bunch of noise. It would sound like "Whoes ready for the heat?!?!?!" And when my teacher told me to take it off i said i couldent and it is stuck to my arm

the original Ben 10 show is practically me and my brothers favorite show. My brother will be going off to college soon so I look back to Ben 10 to remember the great times we had as kids. we revisited the original series recently and I saw the commercial for the new Ben 10 show. Ben ten omniverse is when my brother kind of fell away from the series, so I thought we might be able to watch the new reboot together before he went away. My mindset completely changed though when I realized that the show was becoming what it is. seeing this new series makes me angry and sad at the same time knowing that me and my brother will not be able to watch these new episodes, and every time we watch the original show I get hit with so much nostalgia and memory's I get tears in my eyes. It infuriates me what the series is becoming.
I just found out about the reeboot through looking at ben 10 moments of the other shows in RUclips and as soon as i saw the designs of the reboot i was like: nope,not watching that ...

Theory : Maybe the show is ACTUALLY super alien hero buddy adventures, it explains the trying to be hip-ness and changing the story a bit, ben might have told the guy his childhood and he made a series. Any additions to this theory? Post in replies

All of the series have jokes. Jokes and memes make a show have a younger audience? Show me the younger audience. I don't see a lot of little kids watching the reboot compared to big kids. My big brother is 18 and he watched a few episodes with me and he doesn't think it's that bad compared to the other CN reboots, I know fellow Ben 10 RUclipsrs old enough to have hit puberty and have a deep voice and some of them think it's okay. Plenty of my friends are 6-12 years old and most of them didn't even know there were sequels to the OS and they didn't even like the OS, so they don't like the reboot either. It doesn't need an explanation. Us kids are not stupid. We've seen Omniverse, I've seen every episode of every series except for the season 1 finale of the reboot. Kids that jumped into Ben 10 Alien Force, UA, or Omniverse didn't need an explanation. They might have been confused at first, but they caught on eventually.

The main reason why I don't like the Ben 10 reboot and the teen titans reboot is because of the characters the old show had a lot of emotion and the characters were fairly like able but the new series they just don't feel like the same characters the old shows can get serious and get us interested but the reboots they aren't balanced they don't have a mix of humor and action it just feels like a bad comedy..

I enjoyed Alien force and Ultimate Alien. Omniverse is better than this reboot
They took out wilmutt, Ghostfreak, and Ripjaws because the new era of Ben 10 fans would find those aliens to unenjoyable for kids. Ghostfreak is very violent amd Wilmutt would scare a 5 year old. But let's be honest I wanted a Ben 10000 continuation where Ben is raising his son Ken plus I wanted to see Eunice get more exposure as a character.

I think they got rid of rip jaws and wild mutt because they want aliens with more memorable powers, and I think they got rid of ghost freak because they thought he was too scary.

We should've gotten a continuation of Ultimate Alien after omniverse. I wouldn't mind it if funimation owns the future Ben 10 rights just so I can see Ben 10000. Sure the original 10 year old Ben was cool but just so we get to see Ben's full potential I want to see him become the president like he was in that episode of Ken 10.

i guess to make him look more techy but they could have just made his whole body black and green, not black and purple. that would have been so much cooler. personally i didn't like the original upgrade design. the white looked like it was in the way of the rest of the body

TTG had actually good episodes (3 BRILLIANT), then they shooted themselves and mocked up the older viewers mocking up a whole original episode.

in that episode, the reason why ben didnt go into a proper baby is because the villain in that episode (Nanny Nightmare) did not have enough baby gas left to put them into babies and instead into toddlers

This is a reboot. Reboot means to discard all continuity in an established series to recreate its characters, timeline, and story back from the beginning so this version of Billy Billions is different from the original continuity.

TTG doesn't have the lore or interesting story of the original, but it at least has cut-scenes with different styles like when they told scary stories, all in different styles depending on the character. They even show recurring characters from the original series like The Hive villains. Stuff like that. They make an effort to make the show look cool sometimes. Even Powerpuff Girls is making an effort to appeal to the old fans and to help encourage and educate little girls on some issues sometimes.
This new Ben 10... They're literally peeing on everything they developed from the original and all the other reboots. This is the most disgusting attempt at revamping a cool storyline i've ever seen. Gwen was only like-able previously because she made it hard for Ben to do whatever he wants. But when they worked together it was so magical (literally?) and so exciting. It's like when Garnet talks or gets excited or we see a fusion. It doesn't happen often but when it does, we FREAK OUT. Ben may have picked Four Arms 80% of the time but at least we got to see the other aliens and they were so original and different. Now they're either Four Arms 80% of the time, or a human with a weird suit and powers. Give Gwen and Charm Caster a spinoff already since they're more appealing than Ben ever was.
It's sad to see literally every reboot of Ben 10 somehow get worse every. single. time. I'm confused as to HOW they manage to make them worse and worse. Like whose idea was any of this?

animewisher I had the same reaction to Omniverse but the show did have some good content. They continued it from Ulrimate alien and tried out some original stuff.

Shiirow It's quite terrible. There are so many incredible Minisodes' aired on CN's youtube channel that should definetly be done as bigger series instead of these reboots like the Train cartoon (can't remember it's name). It has a great story going on, it makes you invest in what will happen next, it's refreshing and the main character is a perfect role. But that's the problem nowadays, isn't it? Once it has an actual plot and doesn't center around toys, CN won't care, which is quite sad...

Ben 10 has spawned enough of a name and franchise to basically be the Doctor Who of animation, every generation a chance to start a new journey with 10 aliens, rise and repeat, sadly in the last years Cartoon Network became afraid of innovation and seeing how rebooting its old cartoons is definitely profitable because nostalgia is the hottest thing right now, the shows feel as tacked on as ever, Teen Titans Go works because it's different enough from the old series that it has enough identity to do whatever it feels like, but PPG and Ben 10's reboots feel half-hearted because they are a mish-mash of old and new that's mediocre at best and bland at worst.
I'm really sad Wildvine looks so weird like HE USUALLY IS ON VINES WHEN HE IS WILDVINE so why not make the tentacle his legs??? Not trying to offend anyone or anything, but why does almost every cartoon (specifically Cartoon Network's) have the same art style? Steven Universe, The Amazing World of Gumball, We Bare Bears, and more along with the Ben Ten reboot have the same generic thin-lined art style. I don't hate it- it's kinda cute, in fact, but I'm just tired of seeing it everywhere. None of these shows are bad nor the art style, but I'm just tired of seeing it everywhere.
It kind of started with Adventure Time, and since then we've seen the very same style become very popular because a lot of these cartoons are made by people who come from a similar school of animation. Steven Universe and Gumball both do a lot to differentiate themselves, but it's just a popular style right now.

BigK13372 it's only doing well cause of the hype brought on by civil war plus the fact that they gutted spectacular for ultimate Spiderman. Spectacular wasn't waining in popularity but they decided on drake bell for the next spidey cut and keaton off from the avengers episode. Didn't even have the nerve to tell him. As I said above about gaining fan fair from civil war. 2 reasons it still exist. 1st its the only spider man show on tv right now if spectacular and ultimate ran at the same time I'm sure the story with the deeper storyline would win. Instead of the wonton flinging of spidey characters that they jammed full in the most recent stories. 2nd the fact that spidey was in civil war and was actually amazing is the reason that fans who haven't watched it have joined the bandwagon. Disney realising that this was happening is the reason that they are gutting ultimate Spiderman for the New Spiderman show next year that will follow closely to civil war spidey.

Actually I quite liked the newer transformations from Ultimate Alien and Omniverse, and while both werent as good as the original, at least they were still entertaining to a degree with more in depth story

Pokechamp 2018 They wanted to make it for kids in a this generation to experience. But, I 100% agree with you. They ruined mine too, they put no effort into this series. Just a bunch of flash animation. Gwen isn't a smart ass anymore, and Ben is just fucking annoying. Too much comedy and no action. They should at least continue omniverse after this reboot. Omniverse had so much potential, and it got wasted for a dumb reboot.

Stuff like this is why fans like myself are worried as hell for what's next for animation. I get people constantly telling me that I need to stop comparing every reboot to TTG or PPG 2016, but how am I supposed to not compare them when that's literally all they are. This right here is why I honestly don't want the Nicktoons reboots either because there's a really good chance Nick's gonna screw it up royal like Cartoon Network did. What makes it worse is that this show didn't even need a reboot. It's been 11 years since the original came out. That is not a long enough time period to be thinking about a reboot dang it.

TheJustin4848 No one is saying that there aren't good reboots, but to just blindly think everything will turn out alright just because the original creators are involved is a bit naive. In the end the network and the people with the money ultimately make the decisions, not the creators. If they want something done but the network tells them no or to change it they'll have no choice but to comply. Remember that this is why many of those creators left in the first place.
And you're right. The new TMNT is amazing, and as a lifelong fan of the turtles who grew up with the original cartoon and movies I actually think the new one is the best version of the turtles to date. I'm also a fan of the others you mentioned. However, think about how many other good reboots you can think of vs how many bad ones there are. TTG, PPG 2016, Ghost Busters, the Smurfs movies (or basically any of the live action adaptations of old cartoon properties,) Dragon Ball Evolution, The Karate Kid, Conan the Barbarian, the list goes on and on.
Overall there are more bad reboots than good. I hope I'm wrong and they turn out well, but I'm not holding my breath. Given the usual outcome of a reboot I'd personally rather not chance it and instead just opt not to try a reboot than risk it possibly being bad.
The one thing I hated about the transformations was that the aliens went just go on top of him. I liked the original transformations better but they looked a little more painful.
