It's hilarious though! I don't understand why people hate the new animation so much as to write the show off before even watching it. Seriously, it's the funniest scooby doo series I've watched.

It's all about personal taste. I think the older ones all the way through What's New Scooby-Doo were much more easier on the eyes. However, animation style is not the only thing to consider about them. The writing, man.... all of the newer ones deserve a shot. The fact is that Scooby-Doo will always be catching up with the times. If you don't like the newer ones that's completely fine. They're written with your kids in mind, not you.

This is like the 15th reboot of Scooby Doo... I think Cartoon Network should let it go. Maybe it's because I'm getting older. but Scooby Doo just doesn't have the charm it used to have back then. I think the last ones that was pretty good was Mystery Inc and What's New Scooby Doo.

I dunno, I loved Mysteries Inc because the stories were actual mysteries.
The original Scooby Doo (and all those before), treated their mysteries more like police dramas. They were only mysteries in the world of the show, but typically you would get the monster, some "clue" that would point you directly to a red herring, and then a second clue (if any at times) that would point you towards who did it a few seconds or a scene before the actual criminal is found. Then the mystery would be explained with a bunch of clues that were revealed after the criminal was caught that really only serve to explain how the monster is fake/ crimes were committed.
Mysteries Inc gave you real mysteries as all the suspects and enough clues are given in the first 5-10 mins of the episode to leave you most of the episode with the ability to try to predict not only who the monster was, but why they committed the crime and how they did it. That is a real mystery that is much more difficult to write and much more fun to follow.
The second thing I loved about Mysteries Inc was that it used a lot of techniques and shots horror films use to create suspense as well. I guess one would argue that contributes to it's more "mature" themes, but it also shows very clever crafting to be able to put all of that into a family-friendly program.

Mystery Incorporated was my childhood. At times I was pretty terrified of it, but it was the best. It was a completely new and different version of something everyone loved. It had another mystery that ran along the day-to-day mystery. Growing up with many different versions of Scooby doo, in my (humble) opinion this one is by far the best. And “Be Cool Scooby Doo” is a travesty that did not deserve to see the light of day.

    • @PixelKhaos

truth buster while good for the time and not being tied to the animation giants, sure. But to a standard it's filled with mistakes and copied plot to fill out for more episodes, its not better than the later ones in any way. It was unique, but later shows fleshed the characters and story progression out while allowing more money into the animation, which is what it lacked the most in, reusing the exact same frames on different backgrounds.
HOWEVER, the original gets a big thumbs up for painting environment, which they don't do anymore and likely is the reason the more disliked reboots are so hated. Even this new one having characters fleshed out the most, doesn't feel like scooby doo, because it doesnt look like it or have that theme, its too colorful and bright without ANY contrast.

I've never seen Be Cool, myself. I did remember seeing a teaser and getting a chuckle over Daphne saying one of her puppets lost it's button eyes and Scooby dejectedly mentioning he swallowed a button. That said, I'm not very interested because I liked the semi-serious mystery angle of the series. I think What's New and 13 Ghosts are my favorites.

Sadly the art style from the 60s-80s is now 100x better than what we know today even with better technology and they have the ability to make it look better. Still they choose do downgrade the art each series hoping the series will finally get canceled for good. Its the only way to explain away why the further back you go the better the art style gets with the exception of maybe a few of the movies like witches ghost, zombie island, boo brothers, and alien invaders.
Changed yes, downgraded in artistic talent definitely, updated for the modern era in a good way not a chance in hell.

I would as well, Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated, is pretty much if each episode of What's New Scooby-Doo or Scobby-Doo! Where are You! had plot continuity. Almost every episode matters in order to understand the progression of the final plot. It also make the gang and characters around far more fleshed out than, WNSD or SDWAY. Mostly because SDWAY and WNSD were a one episode mystery. The only other Scooby-Doo iterations that made the character more fleshed out were the 4 Scooby-Doo movies made before Warner Brothers fully integrated Hanna-Barbara Studios. Those being Zombie Island, Witch's Ghost, Alien Invaders, and Cyberchase.

Honestly Be Cool Scooby Doo is not perfect but it isn't as terrible as everyone thinks or says it is. The animation is something i really don't like and the mysteries aren't as good or interesting as the ones in Mystery Incorporated although there are some which are pretty good, the one thing i do admire from this show is how they portrayed the characters.Fred, Daphne, and Shaggy are very likeable and this I got to say this is the best version of Fred and Daphne, Scooby is pretty likeable but there is something missing in him that he had in the old shows that just makes him who he is and Scooby needs that essence back and Velma is by far my least liked character in this show I really like Velma but they just made her so intolerable and annoying in this show which they need to change as well other than that i really like the friendship the gang have in this show seeing them interact the way they do and seeing them solve problems about their friendships by the end of the show is just heartwarming its something Mystery Incorporated didnt have, in that show i hated how they forced them into different romances. Lastly this show is pretty funny not super hilarious but it has some good jokes. So if you haven't seen most of the episodes don't judge immediately and if you have well maybe its just really something you're not into or its something you just dont appreciate. I for one really like this show and i hope they fix it up a bit and change the art style in the future.

The thing I like about Be Cool Scooby Doo is that they took a risk and tried to change it up drastically. I'm not a fan of the show, but I can respect that. Also I think like Teen Titans Go it's very much made for children. All I hope is that any kids that get into Scooby-doo via Be Cool then go and watch some of the other shows.
There are so many different reincarnations I'm not sure I can pick a 2nd favourite (after the Original series of course). Mystery Inc deserves a shout out for trying something new whilst keeping it for all ages.

Love Scooby Doo, the Direct to DVD movies are always elite in my book, with Zombie Island being the best. The 80's movies were good too, but today it's something only people who can appreciate that old classic style can like, same goes for the 60s show. What's New Scooby Doo was probably the most loyal reboot to the 60s series, that still have a modern twist. Mystery Inc was a big change, but it was still a good show and I respect that they added more to the characters although some of their choices were questionable. This new reboot looks like trash though.

Each character has a personality and although it's not on the level of Mystery Incorporated it still has continuity as characters actually mention what happened on past episodes. Every episode I watched was enjoyable and the show is not as annoying as people think. The jokes may be prominent but the mysteries are as well. It's like the Phineas and Ferb of Cartoon Network.

I grew up with reruns of the original show and the first few incarnations to follow. Of those, I prefer the original - after all, it served as the introduction of the characters and premise as well as setting the initial tone. I get a hoot out of the Scooby Doo Movies (1972-74) just from the caliber of talent they recruited as guest stars! Unfortunately the writing and animation were not up to snuff and it makes it harder to enjoy now. TPTB were grasping at straws with the shows that followed and introducing Scooby Dumm, Scrappy, etc while putting the gang in the background. Scrappy gets a bad rap but I understand why he was added, but if they had asked kids like me what they wanted to see to spruce up the show, it wouldn't have been what we got. Having Vincent Price in the next incarnation was great but it was wrong to dump Fred & Velma and add Flim Flam to the show. If only I could have been in the writers room my 10 year old self could have righted things!
WNSD was OK, but I couldn't get into it. I really enjoyed "Zombie Island" and was looking to see more of that for the gang. The direct to DVDs devolved into WNSD type universe instead of the more mature tone of Zombie Island and I started wondering if things would change. Then came "SD: Mystery Incorporated"!! Still the best reboot since the original! "Be Cool SD" is okay but I still prefer SDMI and still refer to see another incarnation - or perhaps a Scooby verse crossover in which we get to see the characters visit other universes/incarnations..
I had no idea a new theatrical SD film was coming - I'm glad they're going the animated route which is what they should have done with the original. Let's hope the Craig Titley script gets pulled from the vaults for it.
