I was a toddler when I saw this version of scooby-doo and it was absolutely my favorite, and then a few years later thanks to Boomerang, I found out there was a kiddie version of the show too which is the afformmentioned A Pup Named Scooby-Doo and I loved watching that as well. I also was loving the three direct to dvd movies of Scooby Doo from the 90s, Witch's Ghost, The Cyber Chase, and Zombie Island. I'm 24 now and thanks to free safe sources I pretty much watch my fave Scooby-Doo stuff there.
I still remember I grew up with this iteration when it aired during it’s run as well the movies during the 2000’s and the original series thanks to having a VHS of Where Are You. I have a lot of nostalgia all thanks to What’s New.
8:10 YOOOOO THE MONGOLIAN DEATHWORM EPISODE! YOU JUST UNLOCKED A HELLUVA LOT OF MEMORIES. The literal best episode in the series (from child me’s perspective). Thank you so much for this.
This was definitely the Scooby Doo of my childhood. I saw "A Pup Named Scooby Doo", too, and I liked it it’s overall more comedic style, but I didn’t get to see as much due to only having access to Boomerang when I visited my grandparents. You could say "What’s New" appealed to me more through simple accessibility, but it had so much more to offer besides that - and I don’t just mean one of the best cartoon theme songs of all time. There’s a reason Simple Plan re-released it a few years back
@@bland9876It was a separate channel, sort of the 'retirement home' for old shows that had run their course or had premiered before Cartoon Network was formed - you had all the classic Hanna Barbera shows, like Yogi Bear, the Flintstones, and the original Scooby Doo, but then later on in the evenings you'd get the original Pokemon anime, Teen Titans, Generator Rex, pretty much everything before the early 2010's. Then Cartoon Network got the shitty idea to chuck all that out the window and show only early seasons of their still running shows, with the occasionally older cartoon thrown in. Because why would you bother airing a different show on a different channel that you own? As for getting access to it, the most I can say is that it depends on your TV provider. To this day, my grandparents still have access to the channel and had changed providers at least twice, that I'm aware of (most of my memories are fuzzy due to early childhood not caring about specifics). I think dish satellite had it back in the early 2000's if you bought a certain package, but that's about all I can say.
I really enjoyed watching the episodes from What's New, Scooby-Doo because they are easy to follow, funny and you don’t need to use much thinking power.
I always viewed What's New Scooby-Doo? as a direct continuation of the original Scooby-Doo, Where Are you? and I mean that in the best way possible. Both shows are very much a product of their times but by keeping to the classic formula for mysteries its really interesting seeing how much has both stayed the same & changed. Not just technology or slang but things like art style, character writing conventions, and even the voice acting direction from their respective decades are baked into each of these shows. So it was fun when Cartoon Network would play What's New or Scooby Doo-Where Are You? because it was like getting two different flavors of the same great show
I'm an old timer who grew up on Scooby-Doo, Where Are You! I loved What's New Scooby-Doo because it was so close to the original. Used to wstch it with my Dad.
Been waitin a long, LONG time for this video. Whats New, Scooby Doo is probably my favorite Scooby Doo iteration of them all. The episodes were very entertaining, while also having a somewhat darker tone than some of the previous series' episodes did.
The thing I remember was that for at least one season (might have been more) when it was on Kids WB, they wouldn't reveal the culprit of every episode at the end. Instead, you'd go online and pick who you thought it was. Then, at the beginning of the episode's time slot, before getting into the new plot, they'd reveal who did it from last time, and the first five or so correct answers would get their names on tv during commercials. It was a cool gimmick, and what made this iteration stand out to me, though I imagine it wouldn't really work on a rewatch.
This was the series that introduced me to the animated Scooby-Doo. Before this, I had only watched the second live action movie with that villain who has a glass/metal looking mask, and I'm glad I watched it, without it, I wouldn't have found my favorite series from it's era, being Scooby-Doo Mystery Incorporated
This used to be my favorite show ever growing up. Like I was so obsessed with it to the point where I could tell which episode was playing within the first 3 seconds of it
This was maybe my favorite version of the show. It produced some of the best looking Scooby-Doo movies and felt like the original while still being unique. But I was also born in 99 so I might be biased since this was the Scooby Doo version I grew up with.
I remember the theme song so clearly. I haven't seen the show in over 10 years but that theme is amazing. This show brings huge nostalgia to me personally. I remember watching this all the time when I was younger.
I loved this series so much! I grew up on it and I loved how true to the original it was. It had a great vibe and the monster designs were well done. I watched a bunch of iterations of Scooby Doo as a kid, and I remember most of the episodes of this show because I owned a lot of the DVDs
This was the Scooby-Doo I mainly grew up with. What introduced me to the older shows was that every year on Boomerang throughout the entire month of October, the channel would have a 24/7 Scooby-Doo marathon. It had the old shows for the time, Scooby-Doo Where are You, A Pup Named Scooby-Doo, The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo, basically every show before What's New Scooby-Doo since that was the newest one at the time. It even threw in the Olympics inspired sports competition show that had the different Hannah-Barbera characters split into 3 teams competing with each other. Good times... 😌
One of my favorites, just because of the danger the gang was in, was the one with the house of the future, where the house nearly killed the gang numerous times because it wanted attention
I was at the When We Were Young concert and that picture does not do justice to how epic it was. Also, Simple Plan played What's New Scooby Doo at the festival! Super fun!
Besides the OG Scooby Doo and the Guess Who series, this' probably one of my all-time favorites in the franchise. Loved watching this show with my bro, back when Kids WB still existed on Saturday mornings. Good times...
THIS was the version I grew up with It was always being rerun on cbbc when I was younger and it defined my childhood. I will always have a soft spot for this show.
Growing up with this version made it very special to me. Whereas mystery incorporated was like my getting edgy, teenage phase what's new was my kid series. And I'll be honest some of my favourite scares from the entire scooby doo franchise are from this series. Mystery incorporated could get freaky sure, and some of the films like zombie island and abracadabra doo (banshee scene) and that camp one (flashback where that guy turns into a fish) got downright scary, but this series actually had its own moments. I had a massive fear of clowns growing up (I am better with them now, but I blame it on that one clown scene from James Bond) so naturally the giant mechanical clown one was horrifying to me, and I would often avoid it. Also freaky were the fish monster one in Antarctica, as the power cut, isolated structures had a great atmosphere and the whole idea of the fish dragging you away slowly just to throw you into freezing cold water was downright horrifying (especially because the fish monster was really good in chases, like he felt like a monster you couldn't run away from unlike the others where it was like oh yeah hehe they can't catch me I'm too fast), the doll episode as I hated dolls, and still have a bit of a fear of them now, the AI controlled house due to that opening mirror scene and the room slowly filling up with water, and the civil war soldier episode, though I cannot really remember why it was freaky. This is actually getting me in the mood to rewatch these episodes
What’s new, Scooby-doo was one of my three childhood shows that I grew up watching as a kid. Along side A pup name Scooby-doo and the original Scooby series
I remember watching the show on dvd so many times, it was a cool modern take on classic Scooby, the monsters were a cool and creepy, the reoccuring characters were fun, and it was my main Scooby-Doo show as a kid.
I would say this version of scooby doo was my favorite, noustalgia-wise. It was my generation's scooby doo, and it was in the CN schedule. It was a lot better then watching A Pup Named Scooby Doo as a kid lol but thats just me
What’s New Scooby Doo is what I think of when Scooby Doo pops into mind. I have especially fond memories of watching this version of scooby doo while growing and going to elementary school
My second introduction to Scooby Doo(after The Scooby Doo Show) and, due to it's banger intro, vibrant and funny plots, perfect integration of modern technology and current pop culture and gadgets and my favorite art style, it is THE BEST for me and a great callback to the 2000s cartoons.
Not gonna lie, but the theme song of this incarnation of Scooby-Doo stuck with me for a very long time and to this day is still one of my favorite cartoon theme songs to listen to this very day (plus I didn't know that Simple Plan performed it at the time of the show's release, which might explain why it's so catchy to listen to these days). This is probably my 2nd favorite Scooby-Doo incarnation btw.
I watched Scooby Doo where are you growing up, but What’s New Scooby Doo is really where I fell in love. I am turning 21 years old in a few months and to this day I rewatch all of the movies and shows over and over again. I don’t think I’ll ever outgrow it.
It was my absolute favorite! I remember watching it when it first premiered! It always held a special place in my heart. I was only 7 when it first came out.
This was my introduction to Scooby Doo as a whole and still an iteration of the franchise that I remember the most fondly. It's many things a new series to an old property should be.
I love What's New Scooby Doo. It's my #1 favorite Scooby Doo series of the franchise because I love the animation, amazing theme song by Simple Plan and all the episodes are great including the movies of that series. Love this series so much 😎💯🌟❤️🔥✨👑⚡🔥💥👍🤩
I appreciate the way you acknowledge the things that you liked less about this series while keeping the show's purpose and strengths in perspective. Of course every art has something that could be tweaked, but that simple fact doesn't have to be construed as negative. There's a reason this show had a very positive reception. It's iconic for all the right reasons. I find that sometimes that balance of criticism versus praise is a hard skill to keep for reviewers.
I very much enjoyed these NEW mysteries that Scooby & the gang had to solve especially with how it lets the audience get the chance to figure out who was under the mask after most of the episode has aired then submitting it online of their guess, & mentioning Simple Plan I remember the music video for the theme song & the episode that features them
now this is my SHIT man, the opening for the show got my hyped as fuck Warner Bros definitely killed it with Scooby Doo brand for me as a 2000's kid, those live action movies, the series reboot, Gen 6 games, all were literal bangers
Yeah I remember this show! Me and my cousin would watch this on DVD with one of those box TVs that had a DVD player and VHS player built in. He had all the seasons of this show on DVD! A little bit before our time though (we were born in late 05) but still a great show!
I loved this show, it was my introduction to the Scooby Doo franchise and I've been a fan ever since! I love Mystery Incorporated more, but I don't think I would appreciated that drastic and more serious take on the franchise had I not seen the classic Scooby Doo first. What's new let me appreciate the status quo.
Every now and then I remember the one episode about the giant coral monster and the ending explanation was “yeah that’s a real monster but he’s cool.” Thanks for talking about a staple of my childhood show lineup!
I remember watching this series so much in a daycare I was in when I was younger and every episode and movie I watched I just ate a bunch of ramen noodles

This is definitely one I remember! One of my favorite iterations of the series
I enjoy what’s new Scooby doo series, I didn’t get a chance to watch it over years but I manage to watch it all from 2022.
What’s new, Scooby-doo was one of my three childhood shows that I grew up watching as a kid. Along side A pup name Scooby-doo and the original Scooby series
How could anyone forget that banger intro?
i would love a scooby doo collab video between you and nerdsync, you both have a love for the series that’s so genuine and fun to watch
I’ve grown up up with this version (and reruns of the classics.) I’ve always loved it!
What's New, Scooby Doo was absolutely cracked. Can't beat it, I think I've watched every single(at least most of them) episode
I remember watching the show on dvd so many times, it was a cool modern take on classic Scooby, the monsters were a cool and creepy, the reoccuring characters were fun, and it was my main Scooby-Doo show as a kid.
The mad man, he’s actually watching nearly 50 Scooby movies and making a giant video of it isn’t he. God speed Mr. Fringe.
I would say this version of scooby doo was my favorite, noustalgia-wise. It was my generation's scooby doo, and it was in the CN schedule.
It was a lot better then watching A Pup Named Scooby Doo as a kid lol but thats just me
This is probably my favorite iteration outside of the classic that i watched on boomerang as a kid
I rewatched most of the episodes a year ago and I still love it! This was definitely my favorite Scooby-Doo show as a kid! ^^
What’s New Scooby Doo is what I think of when Scooby Doo pops into mind. I have especially fond memories of watching this version of scooby doo while growing and going to elementary school
This is my favorite version as far as animation goes.
What's New Scooby Doo is my favorite Scooby-Doo incarnation with Mystery Incorporated and the OG series completing the podium
The first version I was HOOKED on released a couple of months after I was born.
I watched Scooby Doo where are you growing up, but What’s New Scooby Doo is really where I fell in love. I am turning 21 years old in a few months and to this day I rewatch all of the movies and shows over and over again. I don’t think I’ll ever outgrow it.
This show is honestly my entire childhood. It's always going to be amazing 🤩
I love that show! One of my favorite Kids’ WB! series and ty for the uploads! Keep them coming please.
What’s New Scooby Doo is my second favorite Scooby Doo series (after the original Scooby Doo Where Are You).
I love What's New Scooby Doo. It's my #1 favorite Scooby Doo series of the franchise because I love the animation, amazing theme song by Simple Plan and all the episodes are great including the movies of that series. Love this series so much 😎💯🌟❤️🔥✨👑⚡🔥💥👍🤩
I grew up watching this show and Scooby-Doo Where Are You? as a kid and I love them both so much! They are both amazing!
It was dead-on my favorite Scooby Doo cartoon as a kid :D
The theme song slapped. And it was refreshingly silly.
I love the music in the show. Got me into rock and metal music. So much underrated artists and bands.
I very much enjoyed these NEW mysteries that Scooby & the gang had to solve especially with how it lets the audience get the chance to figure out who was under the mask after most of the episode has aired then submitting it online of their guess, & mentioning Simple Plan I remember the music video for the theme song & the episode that features them
😍I absolutely luv this show,I remember watching this show on Netflix and the theme song was incredible🤩
now this is my SHIT man, the opening for the show got my hyped as fuck
Warner Bros definitely killed it with Scooby Doo brand for me as a 2000's kid, those live action movies, the series reboot, Gen 6 games, all were literal bangers
Yeah I remember this show! Me and my cousin would watch this on DVD with one of those box TVs that had a DVD player and VHS player built in. He had all the seasons of this show on DVD! A little bit before our time though (we were born in late 05) but still a great show!
Loving the constant content!!!
This and Scooby Doo Mystery Incorporated are the only favourite series that I’ve watched the most.
Every now and then I remember the one episode about the giant coral monster and the ending explanation was “yeah that’s a real monster but he’s cool.”
Thanks for talking about a staple of my childhood show lineup!
Dude, This series along with APNSD were two of the greatest parts of my childhood! The theme song by simple plan is still a bop!
Terror time had no business being that good. My favourite song from this era❤❤❤❤❤❤
I remember watching this series so much in a daycare I was in when I was younger and every episode and movie I watched I just ate a bunch of ramen noodles
Loved what’s new, a pup named, and the classic.
The zombie island movie is iconic.
I also remember the Area 51 alien movie as well
My favorite thing about the pup one is the use of "o" like bucket or can 'o' stuff.
me and my nephew always say "want a bucket o' chicken " when we go to KFC ......
While I love mystery incorporated, what's new Scooby Doo was peak Scooby Doo.
