I was thinking the same thing, like my immediate reaction was I hope this series ends with her being pregnant, like how amazing would that be, but seeing everything she's already been through. She's been through so much and she's choosing to be vulnerable with us when she really doesn't have to.

This is WHY I STOPPED asking couples when will they have a baby or ever get married. You don’t know what’s going on in their relationship...you never know.
Also. It's just no one elses business. If you're not involved in the making or carrying of said baby, it's not your concern. So dont ask.
And also because it’s just rude to even ask a woman if she is or not.

Yes! Thank you for no longer asking couples this. My husband and I have been together for 13 years and had a horrible miscarriage last year that no one really knows. When people ask us this, it hurts so bad! I don't want to openly tell people we are having problems conceiving because it's no ones business and I don't want the added stress of people asking about it and "have you tried this or that." I just wish people wouldnt ask this question at all.

Do not ask a couple “when are you having kids?” Or “why haven’t you yet?” You have no idea how much they could be going through.

I use to get so annoyed when I got asked this question. I knew I wanted to start having kids at 30 years old but nobody believed me in my 20’s and would keep asking why I wasn’t. My husbands friends would make fun of him saying he couldn’t have kids. Once we had one at 30 they all shut up.

People can be very cruel. 5 Years ago I had a stillbirth to our daughter. 2 years ago we adopted a beautiful boy from Hong Kong. People ask "Why don't you have kids of your own?" I found it so rude. You never know the whole story.

I'm with my husband now coming to 10 years, I was raped before him by my ex, had no choice but to have an abortion as I was never going to marry him. When I married my lovely husband still with him presently 3 miscarriages in my marriage. Now iv got endometriosis and cant have any suffering monthly, people ask why I dont have children being married this long a decade, they say if wasted time they dont know my story or pain iv been through physical and emotional people never think before they speak. I may never have a baby of my own in my arms making me feel less of a lady unfulfilled they make me feel. It hurts when people look and ask. My arms are empty and my heart broken but people judge before knowing anything about what's happened and happening, all based on assumptions. I prey to God maybe a miracle happens one day for us or we can adopt a child if not will just have to have many cats and become a cat lady. As it can be so lonely deafening silence in the house.

Renata Goodley i wish more people who could, would consider adoption. The suffering children (of any age) of the world need caring & loving adoptive parents like yourselves. Adoption is such a beautiful mutual gift.
I was adopted from India in the early 80’s to a Caucasian family. I say that because it’s quite obvious that I look nothing like my parents and my brothers (who are biologically my parents). The questions and comments kids would say to me, and even adults to myself and my parents were and still are atrocious. “You aren’t your parents REAL kid”. Or to my parents, “how can you love a kid that isn’t really yours?” 🙄 then there was the time my dentist made a joke to my mother while I was getting my teeth cleaned..”her dad must be the mailman”. People have no tact, and no respect, and have no concept of love. Bless you and your child for the family you have found in each other! The adopted community is so special and I’m proud to be a part of it.
When Steven said: “she’s gotten better at needles though.” My heart sank and the flood gates opened. I love you, Desi.

@@mrs.cardenas3178 of course everyone wishes that for her and none of us wish it for her more than she does for herself. This is the equivalent of " are you pregnant?" Or " when are you going to have a baby?" I guarantee you that it hurts her if she hasn't gone numb from hearing it so much. I know it's just good intentions.
@Enormous Dixahalv you can also apply your " solution" to hate comments too, but then those who want to communicate with her cant. Maybe the comment section would provide much support for her. I think the easiest thing to do is keep such comments to oneself. Problem solved.

@Ashley Elle oh I know . It's not malicious at all. The good intentions are there. It's just that she wants a baby more than we do for her. Infertility makes you feel like you're faulty and every time you get a negative test , it's soul crushing. You're already disappointed in yourself ( even if you know its not your fault) you don't need to fell like you're disappointing your viewers too. I'm 100% sure she knows you have only good intentions.
The “ I need to shake it off before Steven gets home “ hit hard ! Most will not understand you don’t want to get their hopes up as much as you do, SO we test in secret and don’t say anything unless good news . It’s such a lonely period !

Definitely. My husband was so broken up over our miscarriage that it was hard for me to show my own heartbreak. It’s not that he wouldn’t have been supportive and comforting, but I just couldn’t add my grief to his.

Omg, this really raises awareness to me. To think about asking couples “why don’t you have any kids yet?”. It’s not something we think about.
I’m a Fertility Nurse here in So Cal and I appreciate your openness. People don’t talk about fertility issues due to shame and being vulnerable but So many women struggle with this. You will get pregnant and your miracle baby will come 💜 All of this suffering will soon be erased with the pure joy of your baby In your arms. Good luck on this journey!

I started crying as soon as it started. This is truly the side that no one ever talks about. I had a miscarriage also and not until after it happened did i find out that miscarriages are super common maybe even more common than pregnancies. Desi, I keep you and your family in my thoughts. Your dream family will happen for you.

There’s no words for women going through infertility, I have had 3 miscarriages. Im currently pregnant with my miracle baby and it took 4 pregnancies and 2 years of trying to get here, Desi I pray for you and ask God to give you a child. Im gonna tell you what my mom told me when I found out I was pregnant for the fourth time “entregaselo a Dios, put your child in God’s hands and ask him to protect his child and to let it be your child”. I hope with all my heart that you get pregnant soon, God’s timing is perfect, I know how hard it is but you got this mama💙

The worst part is watching these crime shows during quarantine and thinking wow some of these people don't deserve to have kids, but then those like you said who would KILL THE MOM AND DAD GAME aren't as lucky. Unfair world we're in, really unfair. I hope they're happy in this process though.

Ashley Elle Hi there...I had two frozen embryos and only one took, thankfully! I had my treatment in Spain, Alicante an AMAZING clinic called IB...very professional, 1000 times cheaper than in the UK and a first time positive !!!....if you need more info I’m happy to share....8 of us in my IVF group network are now with child or pregnant via this clinic! X

I’m praying that you have the opportunity to become a mother. I tried for 10 years. I went to four different doctors, did multiple fertility treatments, cried a lot, took a million pregnancy tests, had every kind of emotion. Nothing worked. We couldn’t afford IVF so we had to stop. It never happened for me. I never got pregnant. I hope you find something that works for you and that you find peace and happiness.

“I need to shake it off before Steven gets home” really hit home. I’ve taken countless tests behind my husband, it’s hard enough to be disappointed, feeling “broken” and to see it in your husbands face too I just rather not. Desi don’t give up, I’m 37 years old and after almost 10 years of trying and nothing I was finally able to get pregnant, I’m currently 34 weeks. It’s was a long lonely road but it was all worth it. You too (and so many others ) will have your happy ending. Have faith. You’ll get there too!

My parents tried to have a baby for 10 years. They tried adopting, but did not qualify for it. After 1 failed IVF attempt, they did one more, my dad said if this one doesn’t work out, he’s done trying. Not too long after, they got the call saying they were pregnant with me. Timing is everything, I am here because of my parents struggle and journey.

Justyna Wisniewska My parents didn’t make enough to qualify for adoption, but they were able to afford IVF because they qualified for a program that cut the cost by 50%. Also, not sure if it was just cheaper in general during the 90s?

I struggled with infertility too. We tried for more than 2 years. Every cycle was a cocktail of drugs and injections, figuring out what would make me ovulate and what didn’t, finding the right combination of drugs that my body would respond to, the crazy weight gain, the rollercoaster of emotions, taking various natural supplements, fertility massages or “natural healing”, going through procedures to check my ovaries, altering my lifestyle... I’ve been there too and it’s so so hard. Every month a disappointment. And seeing my friends/peers/relatives fall pregnant so easily..... I couldn’t deal with it. I would cry and cry and ask God why not me too, why is it so hard for me? But when we least expected it, we fell pregnant and now we have a beautiful baby girl. I wish you all the best in your journey. It’s not easy, but it’s worth it.

This is such a good documentary. I especially appreciate how Steven’s journey is included. I think people forget about the father in a miscarriage or during infertility treatments. I also love to see how you two are supporting each other. This had to be very difficult to share, but I honestly think it will help so many others going through this too.
I think the level of care Desi puts into her garden and plants 🌱 is a beautiful metaphor of a mother nurturing her embryo.

I said DESI nurturing her plants was a beautiful metaphor to me of how she would nurture her child (embryo).
Bearing children is a part of nature, and in the human species only females can carry child. Natures gender was not and is not something I lose sleep on.
I am a fertility nurse in Oklahoma. I think it’s awesome that you are sharing your story. I hope that by more people talking about their struggles with infertility, it will remove the negative stigma that surrounds it. Infertility is nothing to be ashamed of. Keep your head up. The biggest advice I can give is to understand that infertility treatment is different for every person. Some get pregnant on their first IUI cycle and some go through 4-6 cycles of IUI without success and resort to IVF. It will happen for y’all and you are going to be awesome parents. Never give up and keep sharing your story!!!
We went over 7 years trying to have children. Multiple surgeries to remove polyps, low motility on my part, we prayed our church prayed god answered that prayer. My wife conceived on the second round of fertility shots. We had the best Obstetrician she was with us every step of the way. The second month of pregnancy she started bleeding, we thought we had lost the pregnancy. One of the three babies did not survive. It turned out to be a blessing. In the end my wife was put in the hospital, could not find my sons heartbeat, finally found it after working for almost an hour. Csection next day, they are now 15, super smart and capable fifteen year old twins. It will happen in Gods time, pray without ceasing, if one door closes another will open.
I don’t think there’s a couple that’s more deserving of this. My heart goes out to you both. Xx

It boggles my mind, there’s some people that are able to have babies no problem & don’t want them or can’t appreciate a beautiful baby (not all but I speak for some) or when you hear horrific stories on the news that women don’t want their baby 😔 And people like yourself that would be amazing parents have this type of difficulties to have a precious angel. We went through this journey for 6 years, so I know exactly how you feel. You pretend to not get your hopes up, but they are. You test every month. You cry all the time. Keep going. It’ll work in the end. My husband and I ended up doing ivf and I currently have an almost 7 week old baby laying on my chest. Ivf is hard, so hard, but it’s so worth it. Good luck. 🧡
This broke my heart. I’ve been trying to get pregnant for 4 years. Desi, I felt every tear you cried. I’ve been struggling with secondary infertility for 7 years. God has a plan for us all and the babies we are meant to have, we will have. 💕
My heart breaks for you two. My husband and I went through fertility treatments as well. It’s an undescribable pain to endure. We did however get pregnant. Our daughter is now 9. I cried myself to sleep almost every night praying for her. Her name is Eliana- which means God’s answered prayer and her middle name is Faith because faith was really all I had during such a dark time. By some miracle I got pregnant two other times without medical help even though the doctor said I only had a 5% chance of getting pregnant on my own and welcome two boys to our family.
I’m grateful you are sharing such a difficult story. I searched for videos like this when we couldn’t get pregnant and I found many women going through the same struggle. I’m still friends with many of them today. I’ll be praying for you!
My brother n sis in law tried for 10years, in the end they went ivf but it turns out she had an auto immune that was undiagnosed that essentially prevented her from getting pregnant, the ivf worked after the autoimmune was corrected and theyve since had a natural conception

Christina Leask do you mean after the autoimmune disease was treated? Sorry don’t mean to be a Karen, I have an autoimmune disease and they are permanent but can be treated. Don’t want people to think it can be corrected as most as very serious and painful like mine.
NLo i think she meant starting a treatment and goind under remission. Also there is a disease called antiphospholipidic syndrome that causes blood clotting and spontanous abortion and has got treatment
Hayley Joe yeah they all have some type of treatment. Doesn’t work a lot of the times but there are options. I knew what she meant. Just had to correct her wording so she’ll know along with others. There is no correcting an autoimmune disease, but they can be treated. No biggie, constructive criticism.

My sis in laws was specific to pregnancy, her body attacking the embryo as a foreign body as soon as it implanted, and yes, this particular AI has been corrected, I can’t recall the name of it but it’s done and dusted
NLo It is interesting though that during the pregancy the immune system lowers it’s natural defense due to the fetus (so that it doesn’t produce antibodies against the baby).

My mom couldn’t have children. Her and my dad were on treatment for more than 7 years. She had two artificial inseminations done and was getting a monthly shot. After almost 8 years they told her she should give up due to all of the procedures and how her body could react to it. A year after (with no treatment) I ended up on an ultrasound! I’m so excited to see what the future holds for you guys! Wish you nothing else but luck! I know you guys will be such good parents 💕

This was so tough to watch because it was like watching and hearing myself. Infertility is the hardest thing I’ve had to go through. It changed me completely. I was at my lowest point mentally. Month after month year after year. It will tear you apart and you feel so alone. The emotional damage is indescribable. The obsession with test taking and evaluating every single symptom! I know it all too well. All I can say is I know exactly what your going through and although it feels like your so alone in this there is so so many women going through the same. Unfortunately we just don’t hear about it enough. But... it happened for us and we have a beautiful 18 month old baby boy named Noah! He was all worth it! The journey may be hard but the reward is all worth it. I wish you strength because I know you need it❤️
Estuve en tratamiento desde el 2010 al 2013. Clomid sobre estimuló toda mi área reproductiva y caí en el hospital por que no paraba de sangrar. No fue hasta ese momento donde mi esposo me dijo que si este proceso me iba a causar más daño físico (por que el emocional ya estaba ocurriendo), no quería tener hijos bajos esas condiciones y menos perderme. Hasta el día de hoy no he quedado embarazada, ni tan siquiera un falso positivo. Guardo una pequeñísima esperanza, muy muy pequeña. I really liked how in the end you said when something happens to you that you can't control you find something you can like planting flowers, I don't know why but I started crying right away when you said that. Something just about being able to bring something beautiful into your life even when everything else seems so hard and dark. A year ago I received the news that I had HPV and i started bleeding and having extreme hormonal and emotional issues, including pain in the bedroom. I have hot flashes and insane one month long issues with my emotions, they are just uncontrollable. Then they tested me for cancer, and I am now under checkups because I have cells that could turn into cancer. I became depressed not only because one of the emotions I get is complete hopelessness and despair and complete confusion, but also because everything was making me depressed. Every time the emotions hit again or i noticed another hormonal issue coming back i just would get so discouraged and just completely hopeless. It's been so hard, I had to quite my master and I' in therapy trying to learn to live with this for maybe my whole life. It just feel like my life has been taken away. I can't function anymore and it's just devastating. My doctors can't give me any answers and there's nothing to do. So I also feel a total loss of control over my body and I always wonder like why, why did it happen, how did it start, what is going on, and why can't it just heal. So when you said that about the flowers it just made me very happy and very sad, i think i might give it a try tho, some light in dark times. Even tho my body can't grow or heal, I can give growth to a flower. I knew watching these videos would be hard for me because im having issues with my uterus and vagina, but I'm so glad i decided to, because its so nice to see a woman who understands how hormones can be sooo extreme and uncontrollable. And even tho I have a bf, like you said they just dont understand the feeling and that's so hard. I love you Desi an congratulations on your pregnancy!

It's so hard, I also have pcos. I've been to a fertility clinic, given trigger shots and all. It's so expensive though so my husband and I stopped and trying to save some money for ivf. No one understands, only those who are going through it themselves. All the best with your journey⚘

I was five months pregnant with my first pregnancy after trying for a year, went into early birth and had to give birth to my stillborn baby boy. Losing Ziad was so hard, especially knowing he was a boy and even planing a baby shower for the future. Doctors said I could not hold a full term pregnancy and my world shattered. With prayer guess what, my son Joeziah, my only child (I am scared to try for more) is 11 years old. Please don’t lose hope Desi. Sigue adelante.

Wishing you the best during your pregnancy journey. I was told by multiple doctors that my chances of getting pregnant were going to be slim to none because of the severity of my endometriosis. I had a miscarriage 8 years ago and it was the most difficult thing I’ve ever gone through but it also gave me some hope. I now have a 4 month old little girl that has been such a miracle to my husband & I. I never thought I would ever conceive again. 🥰
Thank you for sharing this. My husband and I have been going through this and found out I was pregnant for the first time at the beginning of April 2020 only to lose it at 8 weeks. As you said, I don't tell anyone how hard I am trying, and many don't understand it but I am doing everything I can naturally to conceive and each month I am timing things perfectly, but it isn't working and the one time it did work, it failed. I appreciate your vulnerability in posting this and am so happy for you both that this journey has brought you a healthy pregnancy.

My hairdresser who is in her 40s tried for years and years with her husband, every fertility treatment she did it. They were told that she couldn't have children and to stop getting their hopes up. At age 43 she became pregnant naturally! She now has a beautiful, healthy 3 year old girl and is happier than ever. Things will work out for the best eventually I'm sure!! Never lose hope, god’s timing is truly perfect. It would make me upset when people would tell me that because I just didn’t understand why, why it was taking so long for me to conceive and wondering what Was wrong with me, but here I am now, 4 years after a loss and was just about to start going to a fertility doctor but instead I am going to my first ob appointment. You guys are not alone, and no matter how many tries it takes it will happen! Just never lose hope! It will be worth it at the end ❤️
