Hey, you should plan a trip next year to the 2025 Beijing Auto Show. The cars are more advanced in tech and design. One story I saw on another channel said a Chinese Auto maker was touring a plant that is closing in Michigan.
So cool to see these finally coming out. I work at the plant making the battery packs and we are working hard. I would love to own one one day. One thing i would say is get the pack sprayed with rust resistant film as the pack is not galvanized.
Excellent review Joe. After watching this I csnt believe how far trucks have come. I wish my father was still alive to see it all. I still have his 94 Silverado that's in mint condition and it seems like a dinosaur compared to this beast. He was a GM worker for 35 years and would be so proud of the technology. Excellent camera work and review 👍🏼💪
Every time I got into my car, saying to myself if I paid for and stjck to the competition, I look right, point and say:"TO THE DOOR PANEL!!!" Great Review!!
Absolute awesome pickup and over 400 mile range is perfect for trips and it has great towing capacity for a boat or cargo trailer. Price is crazy though, some places you can buy a small house for around $100k
I have had the RST for 3 months now, and I am at 16,000 miles with about 10,000 or towing. This is the best vehicle i have owned and awesome for towing does not even feel like it is towing a 21ft RV trailer

I wouldn’t mind test driving it but significantly out of my price range. I’ve seen a lot of suburban dads driving the cyber trucks around town so I expect to see some of these around too.
96,000 for a truck is insane. This looks nice black really makes things great it's better looking than the cybertruck but wouldn't own either. I do find it concerning how this & cybertruck weighs so much but have insane horse power
Joe, Mr Raiti...I have about as much interest in EV "TRUCKS" as I do in non ICE Porsches! But because I am a loyal Raiti's Rides family member(I still have not been invited to a family BBQ), I watch for no other reason than to plump up that algorithm so I can help in my small way of getting you back to Canada for more Rait's Rides from Canuckistan. Still love watching your sex face from the Porsche reviews. That alone is worth the sub! Love ya Buddy! P.S. I too taught in the public system.
Joe thank you so much for this review. I love what GM is doing with their big 8:53 EVS, I test Drove the GMC Sierra Ev, and felt so freaking awesome, and smooth, I can’t wait for you to review this one Joe, because no one Does it better than you. I saw the Rst Silverado in person, it actually looks better in person.
I won’t lie I think that truck looks nice asf. I’m not in the market for any vehicle but honestly Joe if I was looking for a truck, I want something with A V8. I want my truck to feel like a truck and make noise as I drive. It’s unfortunate Car brands are downgrading engines or switching to Full Electric.
DIdn't have any anxiety before. MOST people aren't driving more than 40 miles a day and nearly all EVs get way more than that. The Silverado EV range is great, now if they could keep that and half the weight with solid state batteries, that would be great. Great video, Joe.
@@MurseTech64there’s literally nothing wrong with the batteries _Ultium_ currently use today especially for their first generation of batteries. Range was definitely a talking point for lots of anti-EV viewers earlier on but all of a sudden range isn’t a reason to consider a fully electric pickup or compare your diesel to it rending EVs useless? It’s getting kinda obvious that y’all will just continue to move the goal posts as *gm* addresses every nitpick the press throws at them.
@@G-RatedI like the Silverado EV. I just don't like the general direction of charging only. Nio has proved that you can do battery swap stations as well.
When they figure out that removing the large displacement of a I. C. engine no longer requires or limits designers to build cars to accommodate the aerodynamics of them. People will be hovering around on 6 wheel circular saucers that shoot from side to side like a flying saucer. Fair warning. Probably a good future prediction. Or just a goofy joke. ✌️
The weight of this truck is insane! That means extra wear on everything that makes it move and stop. Imagine how fast the tires and brakes and shocks will wear out!! I’m having trouble thinking this truck makes sense. 😮

I just can't get excited about a New EV pickup that basically costs $100,000 and that weighs nearly 9000 lbs considering an Ice Silverado 2500 custom which is solid for towing costs around $65,000. I can only imagine getting hit Head on by that 700 horsepower, 9000lb pickup. I'm also anxious to see if the truck actually obtains the 400+ range as advertised plus what its towing range will be. I'm not anti EV, but this is an expensive truck and to be its first group of owners. I would really hope that GM has completed enough R&D to eliminate any mechanical issues. This truck apparently will be removing some of the range anxieties People have regarding battery vehicles. But it increased the other issues called weight and price. If BYD makes it to the US. The American automotive industry will need to rethink their EV pricing. Again. A nice pickup truck but expensive and it's the first year on the market to me personally is something to consider.
Ok, I was watching this on the TV,...but when you were in the back seat area,...and yelled,..."HELLO" into the bed area through the mid-gate,...I thought, "I'm done"! Too freak'n funny... On another note, there are two of these at my local Chevy dealer,...one black and one white. I must admit that it is an extremely versatile vehicle,...with all of its onboard capabilities. Check this, there is actually 3 ways to close the Frunk,...with interior button, with exterior button you used (in the bumper area),...and one can just pull slightly on the hood and the emotor senses this and close the hood! I don't know if I want to oay nearly $97k for a truck,...but if this thing was in the $85k range, GM would not be able to make them fast enough! Edit: I have a 2013 Avalanche,...and I don't care what Chevy says,...that "Mid-Gate and those Side-Sails" are 100% from the Avalanche! So, get over it GM!
The only thing the bothers me about EV trucks in general is that they are SO QUIET! It almost seems wrong. Are you going to start doing videos when the steel is fresh out of the US/China factories now? You are hardest working reviewer! Love it Joe and wife! Thank you for the cool reviews
I just saw one on the street.I thought it was a Hummer at first but when I got closer, the lower stance gives it a distinctive yet custom look. But certainly a great looking truck. 450 mile range is excellent. This is definitely a good stylish EV choice better than the cyber truck and the Ford.
that is one nice looking EV. No power shade for the fixed panoramic roof is a major zonk. There has to be some type of shade from the sun, it should be similar to the Toyota Venza where the panoramic roof can be adjusted to have shade. Chevy can't cut corners like that. Love that the fenders are body color. Over 400 mile range is sick. Smart of Chevy to bring back the midgate from the Avalanche. I think this truck will sell pretty well just like the Avalanche did.
Hey Joe! I don't have range anxiety, I have price anxiety.! 96K yikes! My concern would be how range is impacted by hauling/towing and cold weather performance .
Good point not sure whey they did not continue the branding. Top of the line should have been the Silverado High Country. On the GMC side they did. It is the Sierra Denali EV. RST is a mid trim at best on the ICE variants. It is not even a luxery trim. It is a "sporty" trim. I drove one. I LOVED it, but if I were to purchase one it would be the Sierra hands down. Personal taste.
I am more worried about prices of these than the range at this point. They just need to come down in price. Also the battery. I feel like the solid state battery or semi solid state battery a few companies overseas are looking into will be the one that can bring the prices down (hopefully) and get the range up to a minimal of 500 miles. Of course that could be another 10 years and some people aren't going to wait that long hahaha. I can just sit on my car at least another 5 years and see where everything is at.
I prefer a great ICE or perhaps a hybrid, so that's where I'd love to see GM focus their research. EVs are rough on tires and still have safety concerns regarding fires and issues with sourcing materials. And when I travel to visit family, there is no way I'm asking to plug my vehicle into their house for electricity. We're in the middle class and currently being economically killed out here, so 97k is out of the question, too.
Since all trucks (gas and EV) lose about half their range when towing i would say no. For me i would want it to match the overall range and fill up time as the gas version (if your going to use it as a truck). If your just using it as a commuter vehicle (which EVs excel at) then it's overkill for that use case.
Love the truck I just wish the electric Acceleration noise could be turned off and 113 mph top speed should be more like 130mph. 700+ and 113mph top speed don't make sense.
Hey everyone! Just a heads up this does have four-wheels steering!
Good 👍 Joe
