The electric truck will be cheaper to own on an annual basis. Hyper focusing on purchase price while ignoring the significant fuel and maintenance costs is easy to do. Manufacturers should do a better job explaining this. An ICE truck will cost you about $2,500/yr in fuel and oil changes, assuming driving 12,500 miles/year. EV’s are charged at home 90% of the time when power rates are low overnight. EV’s require no oil changes and won’t need brakes till well beyond 100,000 miles. The EV truck should save you about $1,500-$2,500 a year in fuel and maintenance. The more you drive, the more these savings grow. Add that up over 10 years and you’re easily looking at $15k+ to $25k+ saved with an electric truck over the gas truck. Studies show that EV’s are significantly more reliable than their ICE counterparts so if you earn money with your truck more up time and lower operating costs of the electric are a no brainer. Regarding the over exaggerated risk of fires, actually ICE vehicles catch fire at much higher rates than EVs, based on a recently published study from reputable insurance group. Battery prices are rapidly dropping so electric truck prices will continue to fall. If you are the kind of owner who will want to keep it for more than 15 years, then when it comes time for a new high voltage battery it will be much, much less expensive to replace as prices will continue to drop. In 15 years of EV ownership you saved $25k-$45k in fuel costs (based on 12,500-20,000 miles a year, plus inflation) over the gas truck. Finally the EV truck can power your house for days when the power goes out. Or power your jobsite or camp. If you are into self sufficiency electric is really the way to go. Worried about electric rates going up? Then install solar and it’ll pay for itself in 7-10 years. The gift that keeps giving. ⚡️💪

The Chinese government subsidizes their cars. If US companies could sell their EV’s cheaper they would. Inviting communism into a US market is not “competition”. There are affordable EV’s, just not ones that go 400+ miles.
GM has the best battery system in the EV truck segment. Very fast charging speeds and exceptional range. Both are necessary in order for EV trucks to be viable alternatives to ICE trucks. My only complaint is they should have put the charging plug near the front to accommodate towing and recharging, as many fast chargers are not pull through designs. While I’m not normally a big fan of GM products I would like to give credit where credit is due. They’ve built the best all around EV pickup for people who want to use a truck like a truck. Well done GM!
All good, except Ev charging stations never reach their advertised speeds. 350kw stations pushing maybe 40kw with waiting lines gets old. Not to mention the size of this pack which would double the charging time and cost at home on a 50a 12kw circuit. 15 or 16 hours?

I think it was mentioned 3 times in this review and if you are going to keep talking about it tell the entire story. YOu have yet to show viewers anything in detail about how the infotainment system works, including the integrated route planning and charge stop logic that you cannot get using carplay. You show the native system for 10 seconds and then spend the rest of the time worrying about carplay. Almost every review of any GM vehicle on here is the same thing, complaints about fit and finish and interior materials. It used to be complaints about small screens but now that you can't say that anymore you have shifted to criticizing them for build quality and/or no carplay.
And the market, EVgo. EA, etc don't perform as advertised. 350kw stations pushing maybe 40 ish kw is disappointing. Charge at home but with a pack this large, better have a day to let it sit
Tires primarily wear out prematurely because EV's have great acceleration and new owners have trouble NOT regularly pushing the pedal to the metal.... that is until they have to replace tires early. I just heard from a guy in a Rivian group who is replacing his first set at 40,000 miles. If you drive an EV normally you'll get good mileage out of your tires. Furthermore, the electric truck will save most people $1,200-$2,000 annually over an ICE truck because filling up on electricity at home at reduced cost night time electricity is incredibly cheap (practically free in many places) and the EV annual maintenance requirements are nearly zero.
@@Rainy_Day12234 we are a 2 EV household and both cars still have their original tires after 40k miles. Like the other person said it’s really because of the acceleration. If you have self control your tires will last. It’s just so darn fun zooming every green light though

My husband has a Lightning (which I despise but he adores) and I’m counting the days til it finally dies so we can go back to a regular ICE truck. EV ownership isn’t worth it. We don’t buy gas but literally everything else costs wayyyyy more than when we had an ICE F150.
What a deceitful and lazy review! For a reviewer of a channel that is about reviews, this is a disgrace. This is a 2024 model, not 2025. At 26:33 he even complains that this truck is showing 440 miles of range instead of 460 miles but since he is in a 2024 model, that range is correct! Silverado badge was introduced in 1999, not 2019. The reviewer didn't even know that this does have crabwalk (Sidewinder) in 2025 model. The vehicle stats at 2:30 are wrong, 12,500 towing only applies to the LT model which doesn't have the 460 mile range. Those are not "12 volt" power plugs in the bed, the are 110 volt 20 amp plugs. He complains about 1 pedal driving being too strong because he doesn't know how to operate 1 pedal driving. All this but the worst is being deceitful about the vehicle he is reviewing not being the one he is claiming to be reviewing. This is not a channel to watch if you want to learn (facts) about a vehicle.

Buy it if you're going to drive it for years but not if you're one of the ones that swaps cars every few years.
Correct! We need a the Chinese vehicle to do what Honda and Toyota and Nissan did in the 70s and 80s cus all this no competition fee market bs is old now. Just greeddd
The Chinese government subsidizes their cars. If US companies could sell their EV’s cheaper they would. Inviting communism into a US market is not “competition”. There are affordable EV’s, just not ones that go 400+ miles.
They’re on crack charging that for those cheap materials.
@@user-ju9jm4qk7bthat is FUD. Yesterday at EA i pushed 387kw in my SEV. Stayed about 300kw until 60%
It does not have exceptional range when you realize it has a battery the size of nearly TWO MIATAS under the floor … not an exaggeration 😅
@@LafemmebearMusic So you do not actually own a Silverado, so basically you are peddling FUD. "not an exaggeration"
@@LafemmebearMusicOh, so now an EV having the range isn't enough, so you move the goal posts to make it because the battery is too big? Pound salt.
This is the best looking truck imo. Just hope it can be more reliable than the Tundra
No NACS charge port?! Physical remote/key?! Other than those quibbles and its incredible weight it is an interesting vehicle.
2025 Chevrolet Silverado EV RST First Edition Crew Cab 4X4!
Any word on the Escalade IQ review?
I don’t think that truck will ever see the light of day if you ask me
@ I mean it’s already out and driving around but I think I understand what you mean. It definitely won’t be that car for the average or above average person. I think I saw another electric Cadillac (XT6/ Traverse version), maybe that would be the “more affordable” 3 row electric from Cadillac.
$100k and 9000lbs
80K yikes
Too damn much and too cheap looking inside. No wireless apple car play for almost 100k.
Impressive but out of reach for most. Similar to the R1T or Cybertruck, the people who buy these are rich young tech bros who want a little extra utility than an suv. “Real” truck guys arent going to trade in their $100k HD Denali diesels for one of these.
I'm a truck guy and I own one.... I'm not a tech bro and I also own several semi trucks and dry van trailers. Relax with your assumptions.
THE QUESTION IS !!!! HOW MANY YEARS DO BATTERY LAST !!! BEFORE MAINTENANCE OF BATTERY IS REQUESTED!!! TO KEEP IN GOOD WORKING ORDER!!! 🙂🙂🙂🙂🙂
Like a cell phone. That's why evs have dismal resale. Best to lease and dump them when done
10 years or more for the battery..kinda like a gm transmission..ya get it😂
a long time
@@user-ju9jm4qk7bincorrect. We have 15 years of evs to go off of and the statistics show that you only loose about 10 percent or less of battery range ovens decade. For perspective go ahead nd run your car over to a dyno and test how much power you’ve lost… 😅 it’s more.
@LafemmebearMusic lol. Yeah try charging to 100% everytime like I do. I throw evs away after 2 yeafs
More important fact 😋 I just had a chicken and bacon samich with Swiss cheese on a Hawaiian bun, and it was delicious 😋 👌🏿 😂😂😂
Yum😅
WAYYYYYY too much money for the EV Chevy Avalanche
The wholesale cost GM pays for just the battery is about $27,000.
For sure! The Chevrolet Silverado is known for its durability and performance. It’s got a strong towing capacity, and it’s super versatile for both work and play. Plus, the interior is pretty comfy with lots of tech features.
LOL, you sound like a fool😅
Is that word for word from the press release, 😅 😂
@nickr3441 You are the one that's a fool because you don't know me
@@DominionAnako-bb7ry you sound like a salesman....
I would buy one because I love it....but it's toooooo expensive😢
The complaining about no carplay is getting old, everyone knows about this at this stage- mention it once and move on. I think it was mentioned 3 times in this review and if you are going to keep talking about it tell the entire story. You can use Siri and listen to apple music via BT connection in these vehicles- the interface isn't the same as carplay but you can access your apple music and this fact should be stated.
It is a nice-looking ruck, but over 97K GM can keep it. Within a few years, this thing is probably worth 40K or less.
I like this body style than the Sierra Denali interior wise i can understand
Very expensive, but at least it looks much better and more functional than the Cybertruck
2008 for the auto industry....incoming.
Apple users are annoying... GM should stick w Google OS
0 to 60 when the hell did this become a thing industry wide not just sports and exotic.... Everything... 0 to 60 in 6 to 7sec is more then enough
lol. He said “WTF launch mode”
They building all these EV’s but not building enough charging stations, no where near Tesla’s infrastructure.
And the market, EVgo. EA, etc don't perform as advertised. 350kw stations pushing maybe 40 ish kw is disappointing. Charge at home but with a pack this large, better have a day to let it sit
@@user-ju9jm4qk7bthat is FUD. Try charging at IONNA
They fail to mention the lifespan of the tires are much less and the costs are much more.
I am really liked your vids anyway and I would like to buy this electric pickup truck of course
Why can’t apple ever play nice with companies?? Can’t use Apple Pay in Walmart can’t use car play in certain vehicles like come on 😫😫😫
I guess you’re paying for the tech and newness cus this thing isGM plastic fantastic inside. I sat in a neighbors in the grocery store parking lot and he knew my BMWs driving ass was gonna notice and cut me off and said “ I know it’s not as nice as the luxury cars but you’re paying for the future of transportation and being the first”
I said ok but for 100k… 😅
Will cost double the price to charge up and take twice as long. Even at home with 48a 11.5kw, it will take half a day. Progress?
Yeah, because you spend half a day sleeping. Stop trying to think critically.
@@user-ju9jm4qk7b why do you own 2 EVs if you hate them so badly? Lol. If it’s someone else in your household that owns them, surely you must see how charging isn’t an issue
$100,000.00 for a pickup truck. No thanks.
Frunks on pickups solve the only inconvenience of having a pickup which is not having a truck in which to securely store valuables.
Autocorrect killed you
@@CalvinHikes Idk i understood perfectly what they meant.
The new chime is nice I’ll give it that. I prefer the gmc Denali EV cybertruck or Rivian r1t instead
I don’t see $100k, that’s more like $55k
Ok but….where is my 97k going to again….just seems like this truck is only expensive because you can go 460 miles on a single charge and you gotta pay a subscription for super cruise. I’m sorry I hope GM sees this because this is not the way.
the subscription is after 3 years.
FYI silverado has been around since 1975
all I ever hear about EVs is their 0-60 times which for most folks I don't believe is their top priority .... try stuffing 8800 lbs into a corner at a high rate of speed for fun ..or headfirst into an oncoming 3000lb car at 60mph ... not sure these heavyweight vehicles are safe for those around them?? or for the roads which need to support these portly trucks ... "OH BUT LOOK AT ALL THE GAS I'M SAVING" ... this chap doesn't realize he just spend $100K to save $20 ... BIDENOMICS?
No how, no way. Listen to yourself. Nice review, but, this is not a serious vehicle. Value is in the septic tank.
I watch Sofyan’s reviews bc he is just as bougie as I am about materials/ quality of finishes. There is no way in hell I’d pay this much money for such an awful interior AND the inconvenience of not having Apple CarPlay. My husband has a Lightning (which I despise but he adores) and I’m counting the days til it finally dies so we can go back to a regular ICE truck. EV ownership isn’t worth it. We don’t buy gas but literally everything else costs wayyyyy more than when we had an ICE F150.
It's cool, but not $100,000 cool. Not even close for the lack of performance.
at what point do we say too much is enough ....
At chevy long beach it goes for $110k
For this much money I’d rather get a gasoline luxury suv
Literally no! It costs as much as a house.
@joseperez1881 The 400 mile range LT version is going for less than $60k after you apply the $7.5k federal tax rebate (which the vast majority of Americans qualify for). Thats a very good deal actually.
Pickup trucks used to be heavy duty vehicles! NOT some overpriced chintzy (well in this case not even that…) EV showoffs…
Those rims are ridiculous 😅
Skips to the price. Laughs. Doesn’t understand how CEOs are staying employed. Repeat for all EV videos.
I mean yeah sure if you put a batter the size of nearly two Miata’s in it it’ll get some decent range. 😅 might weigh 9000 pounds but hey that’s fine 😂😂😂
you lost me at $100,000
Almost $100k full of plastic , no thanks
You know, once upon a time, I use enjoy viewing your reviews, but hearing your whining about GM products has brought about second thoughts. The constant drone of your whining has pretty much put the final nail in the coffin. I'd been an avid subscriber throughout the pandemic lockdown until the present, but as in life, there is change. That's the way it is.
Imagine buying a $100,000 EV with cheap plastic 😂😂a fully loaded 3500HD is cheaper than this
For 100k 😮 total trash and they will sell 5 😂. I’ll stick with my 3.4 to 60 v8 BMW suv.
This truck is a flop... no one is buying these.. no one😂

Even Tesla is seeing sales declines now. The industry is not moving toward full electrification. The government is.
Winna winna chicken dinner! 💯 correct

GM EV sales were way up last year in spite of Sofyan's negativity
@shethjones4494 up from what baseline? Already sluggish EV sales? Let's see where they go in the absence of coercive government policies like tax rebates on EV vehicles and inflated fuel prices.

100k?! Pass!!!
Curious why would anyone want an Electric Pick up?? Useless
Awesome Truck
$100k and fake leather. Hard pass!!!
Looks like Iron Man's version of a truck. This is a dub tho, and i dont mean the wheels. Never buy electric, wait until solid state batteries
Why wait. This truck as is works just fine
@kelviskelvis7140 absolutely not. Solid States will bring 800 miles and have much better reliability. These things will depreciate worse than ever when that time comes. Replacement batteries already expensive as it is.
@@SimonGonzalOS FUD - those are nice wish lists down the road but should not stop you from buying an EV today. Side by side ICE is weaker already today. The battery is good in today's market and the solid state is not in today's market there is no reason to buy ICE anymore.
@@kelviskelvis7140 my logical brain stops me from buying an EV. Overpriced and the ones that aren't have terrible range. Hybrids are smarter and battery replacements for those are expensive but way cheaper than electric car battery replacements
