I know I’m not going to listen to another video from you! No I’m not insecure I think someone that talks about people being insecure is the one insecure! What do I know I think all this new stuff is junk!! Wow my pickup rides likes a car!
I don’t know man you definitely sound insecure… We will let the other commenters chime in and see what they think. A grown secure man doesn’t cry on another man’s channel in the comment section.
Gas mileage….. just wait… brakes tight, seals tight, engine tight, all working against your fuel economy. Just wait. 24 mpg on a truck like that would be very impressive and perhaps possible. I’ll be watching for updates on this vehicle. Love your channel.
I don't think they actually lied. They just omitted some information that you don't know when they are figuring the MPG for highway. It's not going 70 or 80 mph. It's going more 55 or 60.
mpg numbers are done at 55 mph. per epa testing the ecoboost has been out since 2011. turbo engines are here to stay....BUT ford still has 5.0 v8 f150's
I went to see a new bighorn with the hurricane engine and i loved it, im buying and not leasing… but the only thing that did bother me was it does not have any dipsticks to check engine oil and transmission fluid. Im so used to checking the oil to make sure its leveled or low… don’t matter if its new or old. Had to say no.
If you're going to see what the true mileage is on your vehicle is is you've got to write down the mileage from pump to pump and then divide that from the amount of gas that you used such as 450 MI divided by the amount of gas that you pumped into the tank
I have had RAMs for over 25 years now. In the beginning of the 2nd generation RAM had massive transmission failures. I had a friend's father-in-law replace the transmission on his truck 4 times under warranty. A lot of people still get confused thinking they have the same transmission. Also, I'm sure you know this but be prepared to get new tires around 30K. Mine didn't even make it to 25k on my 2017.
That color is insane congrats on the new toy ! The 0-60 mph on this Huricane is actually mid to low 5s on 4WDH launch. I’m still keeping my hemi for a little longer but can’t deny the hurricane motor is doing very well so far..
You drive newer cars in your awesome newer house. RUclips is working for you. You are doing it right. I wish I could do it like you do. Bravo. Still watching here.
What's the point of these smaller turbocharged engines when they make the same hp and torque the GMC/Chevy 6.2 NA engine do but the 8 cylinder 6.2 gets 20-22 mpg on the highway which is better than these smaller engines.
I recently traded my 2019 RAM Rebel for the 2025 RAM Rebel SST Standard Output, and I was initially skeptical-especially about the sound compared to the HEMI. However, after taking it on the road and stepping on the gas, I quickly realized the SST packs way more power than my HEMI ever did. Overall, I absolutely love my 2025 RAM Rebel. The only downside is the sound, which doesn’t quite match the HEMI’s roar, but beyond that, I’m thrilled with the upgrade.
I’m sticking with my 04 Rumble Bee. It has 109k miles on it and I fixed the rust on it after I bought it in 2017. It is a 4x4 model with 20 inch wheels, all stock drive train with the trailer towing package and 3.92 gears. I bought it for $9k cash. The interior is like new. I replaced the padding on the drivers seat. The factory 6 disc stereo still works! lol 😂 some day I might replace it. But these are collectable now, so it’s better to leave it stock I think. I get 18 mpg consistently on the highway and 14 around town. I like the fact that it doesn’t have any turbos to possibly go out. You’re making the payments on your new high dollar Ram, so I’m glad you like it. I’ll keep my V8 and don’t have to worry about the turbo lag or expense. The Rebel is pretty and I like the color combo. That screen is nuts in it!
It’s nice I like the looks of em but the no oil dipstick is a hard no go but like you said you’re only keeping it a year and it’s factory warrantied so it shouldn’t be an issue one way or the other as long as you’re happy that’s all that matters
The problem with catastrophic failure in the engine, it rarely happens when it is convenient & easy to just drop it off at the dealer to get it fixed. It usually leaves you stranded in a bad place, at a bad time, and in bad weather. As far as needing a V8 to "feel like a man", you have it all wrong. It gives you a feeling of driving excitement and feedback with the V8 Hemi sound. I don't buy a truck for driving excitement, and my Ecoboost F150 definitely doesn't have that feeling, but it has plenty of power and is nearly the same as your Rebel in that. Now my R/T Challenger M6 has all the things I wanted for driving excitement. Hope you continue to enjoy your new Rebel.
My company truck is a 2018 Ram Classic ST single cab short bed with a 3.6 Pentastar and an 8 speed, and I’ve squeezed 24 mpg out of it. I was actually surprised by how well it drives.
I got a good laugh at the end of the video when you were talking about how you aren't one of those guys that has to have a V-8, and that you like the smaller engines. Come on Randy. Do you know how many walk around videos that you have done where you walked up to a rig that had a 6 cylinder engine and said, nope ain't havin none of that small engine crap. Especially in a pickup LOL.
Used market on these trucks gonna be all kinds turbo problems. Its not race car it doesn't need turbo. Stick with naturally aspirated less problems to go wrong.
Like you said the 17 24 is for a base model with the 3.21 rear end. Based on your RPMs at 60mph you have the 3.92 with a factory lift, off road tires, and more weight. GM seems to base MPG per model but as far as I'm aware other manufacturers don't
I hope it’s a good truck for you. Sounds like you got it for a good discount as well. My only concern with vehicles by Stellantis is reliability. For 2024 Stellantis had more recalls than any other car manufacturer sold in the United States at 72. That’s almost 1 and 1/2 per week! Ford ran a close second at 67 recalls, and Ford’s CEO was so ticked that he fired the head of quality control. Best Regards to you. I’ve been a subscriber for years - since “Uberman” and appreciate the work you put in to continuously generate quality content.
I think there are a handful of things hurting your mpg. 1. It is January. The mpg of every vehicle sucks in winter. Just last night, I drove my homeward commute from my warehouse in Hybrid mode on my Prius Prime. I got 47.6mpg, versus in average weather getting 60mpg and in ideal weather getting 65+ mpg. Long warmup cycle, heater blasting (it was 11F out here in NH), actual running tire pressure down like Tom Brady Deflategate due to temperature, driving through much denser cold air, etc. 2. You can't hit EPA mpg numbers if you habitually accelerate hard. You may think you're driving the same as the previous truck, but either that was in warmer weather, or you are simply punching the throttle harder or more often, due to the novelty of the new vehicle. 3. Who knows what break-in issues there are. Maybe even the initial engine oil is chosen more for handling the initial metal contamination during break-in, rather than being chosen for max mpg. Maybe it's programmed to run rich the first few thousand miles or until certain sensor readings or other algorithm goals are reached. Who knows? 4. You may be right about EPA numbers being for the average configuration rather than your exact configuration of gear ratio, tires, etc. I'm not sure of all the finer points of the rules. Like, does Subaru give a different mpg number if you have a trim with roof rack versus not? There are things that can be modeled as changing mpg, but maybe the EPA doesn't even allow that to be done. One thing is for sure, no EPA number has a test cycle accelerating a 420hp pickup at full throttle. I don't know, but I'm guessing the test cycle accelerates 0-60 in maybe 15 seconds, not 5. If you want to hit the EPA number, you have to drive like the EPA test cycle. Including top speed being whatever they test/model it as on the highway. Probably 60 or 65mph max. Actually I just searched, and the highway mpg test averages 48.3mph, has some acceleraton and braking, and briefly hits 80mph. But not for long, because to average 48.3mph in a highway test, you can't be going 80 for very long. I have no doubt that your truck can get 24mpg at 48mph, lol, at least when it's not freezing out.
Just like Tyga says in Rack City, too much rim make the ride too hard. Off road trucks often ride better thanks to the big, squishy sidewalls. When Ram went to coil resr ends, they became the best riding full size truck.
I always wanted a Ram Rebel. The SST engine has me worried because of the Wagoneer issues it had. But inline 6 are good engines, and I probably will eventually trade my truck in on one. Then again, I like the pentastar V6. I have a big horn Hemi e-torque, and I get about 23 mpg on a good day but 20 mpg on a snowy/rainy day.
UK 8( but i seen a hot-wheels of it, in the supermarket !!! Dodge Rams are not commonly seen in the UK for several reasons: 1. **Size**: The Dodge Ram is a large pickup truck designed primarily for the American market, where roads and parking spaces are generally larger. In the UK, many roads, especially in rural and urban areas, are narrower, and parking spaces are smaller, making vehicles like the Dodge Ram less practical. 2. **Fuel Efficiency**: Dodge Rams often come with large, fuel-intensive engines, which are less appealing in the UK, where fuel prices are significantly higher than in the US. UK drivers tend to prefer more fuel-efficient vehicles. 3. **Emissions Standards**: The UK and EU have stringent emissions regulations, which some Dodge Ram models may not meet without modifications. These regulations make importing and registering such vehicles more challenging and costly. 4. **Market Demand**: Pickup trucks are not as popular in the UK as they are in the US. The demand for large American-style trucks is relatively low, and most buyers in the UK prefer smaller, more economical cars or European/Japanese-style pickups like the Toyota Hilux or Ford Ranger. 5. **Import Costs**: Dodge Rams are not officially sold in the UK, so they must be imported privately. This process involves significant costs, including shipping, taxes, and modifications to meet UK regulations (e.g., converting the lights and speedometer). 6. **Insurance and Maintenance**: Due to their size, engine capacity, and the fact that they are imported, insurance premiums for Dodge Rams in the UK are often high. Additionally, sourcing parts and servicing the vehicle can be expensive and inconvenient. That said, you might still spot a Dodge Ram occasionally, as there are enthusiasts who import and drive them despite the challenges. These are often people who value the unique style, power, or utility of the truck and are willing to pay the premium for ownership.
Give it time Randy ! It gets better with time gas mileage around 3k miles. Maybe invest in a drop in k&n filter it will help you with lag and premium gas too
I purchased the new 2025 ram rebel with a full load air suspension ram boxes. It has crazy amount of cameras. You can get pretty much every option as if you wanted a limited and fuel economy. I have around 4000 miles and the fuel economy seems quite good winter driving compared to hemi is better. It’s extremely refined this truck. The only way to actually know is to go test drive one. I’ve been driving Rams For 25 years. Honestly best trucks I’ve ever owned used from everything from hauling big loads trailers I even take it to the race track no complaints here.
mpg is measured by a much lower speed then what u are normally driving. And u are also driving it in the colder months which is not gonna help with mpg. Then if u going against the wind, that decreases the numbers.
Just keep an eye on the coolant temperature. The only consistent failure has been the thermostat. It's a new design that is quite different from what you're used to.
Wat another awesome video and i been waiting on the video of the new truck and i do like it myself i love the color of it and it is a pretty sweet looking too now the other ram was nice too but i kinda dig the rebel a lil more. Anyways thanks for sharing keep up the great work much love to ya randy and cant wait to see the next video take care god bless and i will see ya on the next one
I think the ride quality is better partly because you have more sidewall on those tires. Also EPA ratings are not based off the actual vehicle are buying. The 3.92 gears is probably contributing to lower mileage.
I have 3800 miles on my 25 Rebel, & came out of a 23 Hemi e-torque, no comparison the hurricane is way, way faster, way more fun than my hemi ever was! I feel like im driving a sports car, which is a blast! Its been getting slightly better on fuel as well, just like my Gladiator did, which got noticably better at about 12,000 miles. That extra power is worth every penny extra in fuel, which is about the same as my hemi was so far. I'm confident mine will improve as the miles increase. Also, the engine has been out in the Wagoneer for 3+ years now, trouble free.
I look at it like this, if you want luxury and more power, get the Limited with the Hemi. If you want more rugged and sporty looks, get the Rebel. IMO, I think both trucks serve a purpose and they do look good.
ZF transmissions are awesome! Have had them in BMWs and I've NEVER had any problems with them. If anything, I'd say they are one of the most reliable transmissions. On a different note, it's a damn shame Stellantis lied about the MPG. I'm very curious about this new engine so I'm giving it time. I would have liked to see a hybrid variant. I don't tow a lot but don't want a laggy truck either. If only they could make a good reliable truck that gives us 24 city/26+ hwy on pump gas
Hey Randy when you go in that 5 mile test drive and you turn in that intersection there is always a red pickup truck there in every video it’s there. Is that your backup just In case the tester breaks down?
It’s a beautiful truck Randy. Not sure how I feel about turbo engines. Never had one. But hopefully these engines turn out to be good in the long run. The 4.0 liter Jeep engine was hard to beat. I had 2 of the Cherokee XJs. I’m still happy with my 2019 Ram 1500 quad cab with Hemi. It’s still like a new truck. Only 25k miles.
Nice truck Randy... as far as fuel economy goes are you relying on what the computer in the truck tells you? I have a 2013 1500 with the pentastar the computer is off by 3 to 5 mpg's but I get average 16-18 city 24-25 highway actual ..I know its not same as your Rebel but I think computers may not be accurate...cant wait for the towing test
Randy, I'm looking forward to see how your new truck performs. I just don't read anything very positive about the Hurricane. It's hard to sort through the people who just hate they can't get a Hemi any more and lambast its replacement. I loved V8's all my life, but have been EVing for several years and don't miss them for what I need.
I rented a wagoneer during thanksgiving time and it had the hurricane engine. I liked the power but I didn't make it home with the vehicle. I put 1000 miles on it in 4 days and it overheated 4 times on me going across I-80 in Pennsylvania. I'm not sold on the new engine yet.
Randy, If you would be kind enough to post a video on a monthly basis updating us on your truck, how it’s breaking in, changes in MPG (should differ based on weather ), we in turn could be indirectly paying the car payment for you 😂
Hi Randy, we have the same here in Europe with fuel consumption, it´s alomst impossible to reach what´s on the sticker, the manufacturers are measuring in a laboratory without ac on, ideal temperature, no cold start...
Hey Randy maybe one day you could rent a Cybertruck for a weekend or so and make a video on it from your perspective and maybe compare it to the Ram for fun. Keep up the great videos.
I know someone who bought a RAM years ago, but now drives a Chevy Silverado. I know it was a while back, but the Mopar gave him constant headaches. It was not a reliable truck. All I ever hear is how GM is junk, but my friend seems to be much happier with his new GM vehicle. Did Dodge improve their products in recent years? I would have just kept the HEMI for all the extra technology you enjoyed. I don't know many people that would downgrade, just to get something newer.
Rilly nice truck even know it is not the 5.7 hemi that motor seams good and strong and that is a good trans to my aunt had it in her ram it was really good and strong shifts great.it is the TRX step brother 😂
I understand the importance of the warranty and the Taxes appreciate the advice I will be applying to my life and I don't jump for every gimic from these companies
As far as fuel economy goes, when they test all these vehicles it's done on a dyno and they are very conservative on the throttle and without as much resistance including wind and terrain. Not only that but when it comes to turbo engines you gotta get into the rpms to get the same power as a v8. If you haul stuff with that truck the motor won't last long since it's being strained significantly and 21 pounds of boost isn't exactly low boost.
Ford came out with the 3.5 Ecoboost twin turbo years ago and I have one and love it!!! 26 miles a gallon and an amazing amount of torque!! Looks like Dodge now decided to jump on that band wagon!!!
I'll never understand how there are so many losers with all this free time on their hands... You literally have time to sit around and complain on videos? I respond to comments because it's part of my JOB. You do it for free. Kinda pathetic really.
I love the hurricane twin turbo engine. I wonder how would it feel in the new chargers with the high output version. Someone also told me they are awd too which will be insane to feel.
The lights and grill on the new Rebel look cheaper than the 24 model IMO, the new 6 cylinder will be slightly faster but the hemi will last longer and mpg will be identical.
Your gas mileage is not shocking to me. My 2017 VW Golf R turbo gets 20 mpg. My car weighs much less then your truck, has only one turbo, and has a lot less horsepower.
And no....I don't drive like a bat out of hell. Sure, I get on it a little bit, but that's just to hear that sweet sweet turbos blow off valve sound. Never get tired of hearing it.
19MPG is the advertised mixed driving economy, and for a brand new truck that's hardly broken in, you're not far off of that. You can't compare highway estimates to your 900+ miles of mixed driving brand new off the lot. I managed low 20's on Texas freeways in a rental Wagoneer loaded with 5 people and luggage, it's definitely doable under the right conditions.
They should bring the Hemi back for the people that keep their trucks for 10+yrs and over 300,000 miles. For example, my dad (keeps a work truck for a long time for his HVAC business) does not need a high tech engine that could cause issues a year after the warranty runs out. Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for new technology. But they need to bring the Hemi back as another option.
I traded my 2018 ram longhorn 2500 diesel on a 2023 e-torque 1500. Didn't need the diesel, couldn't ever afford any repairs, but no excuse. This 1500 e-torque limited longhorn, no way close to interior. Cheap leather, dash seems like pressed cardboard, 12" screen will not do google maps or waze full screen. But can on apple maps. Dwfault maps is tomtom!Totally dissatisfied. Was way too expensive msrp 77,970. Reviews can't replace a few weeks driving, my fault. But I have a warranty! Thanks for your video, enjoyed it.
Randy i think you should revise the mpg after 10,000 miles, because a happened to me when I got my new vw i wasn't happy with the mpg at first, but after a few months a got a lot better I will say I a when up 20%
I know I’m not going to listen to another video from you! No I’m not insecure I think someone that talks about people being insecure is the one insecure! What do I know I think all this new stuff is junk!! Wow my pickup rides likes a car!

Definitely insecure 😂
People that aren't insecure don't act like that 😂
@@JamzieUK ...Randy, stop replying to these Numnuts,...you have a good channel, that is enough said.
A krackhead indeed.

Not a fan of dodge but for truck. I still say your white ram was a nicer truck
Yeah, it was fully loaded, plus with a Hemi.
I like the red color.
Because he is hillbilly yeah
agreed, not a fan of dodge either, but bigger engine always ftw
I agree was nicer but a ram is a ram and I’ll get the job done
I am so glad to see someone enjoying a new truck these days
I'm glad I own 2002 Ford ranger old truck are better
@EVERYTHINGGUY226 I feel your joy!!! Many of the truck are more than what I paid for my 3bdrm 2bath house!!!
I don't think they actually lied. They just omitted some information that you don't know when they are figuring the MPG for highway. It's not going 70 or 80 mph. It's going more 55 or 60.
That engine is a beast. I test drove one and couldn't believe how quick it was. The motor is most likely underrated and is more like 500 horsepower.
lets see in 10k. I would love to see a new one make the grade
@@MrHemikid426 Me too. I loved it. Better than 5.7. Lighter. Handles better.
Give it some time - I bought a 2024 wrangler and it took 12-15k miles before it got close to the 17mpg on the sticker. It started at 12mpg.
Just think of the mileage you will get at the 150k mark 😉😉
mpg numbers are done at 55 mph. per epa testing
the ecoboost has been out since 2011. turbo engines are here to stay....BUT ford still has 5.0 v8 f150's

But not for long, because to average 48.3mph in a highway test, you can't be going 80 for very long.
I have no doubt that your truck can get 24mpg at 48mph, lol, at least when it's not freezing out.
You should purchase a car at either insurance auto auction or copart in Oklahoma City and tow it to AAR headquarters
Great video and review😎
You’ve got 1500 miles on it already!? Atta boy!! 🏁
Just like Tyga says in Rack City, too much rim make the ride too hard.
Off road trucks often ride better thanks to the big, squishy sidewalls. When Ram went to coil resr ends, they became the best riding full size truck.
It should have been called the Ram eco boost
I always wanted a Ram Rebel. The SST engine has me worried because of the Wagoneer issues it had. But inline 6 are good engines, and I probably will eventually trade my truck in on one. Then again, I like the pentastar V6.
I have a big horn Hemi e-torque, and I get about 23 mpg on a good day but 20 mpg on a snowy/rainy day.
That fuel mileage is only if you’re not stomping on it and driving slowly, my truck is the same way
UK 8(
but i seen a hot-wheels of it, in the supermarket !!!
Dodge Rams are not commonly seen in the UK for several reasons:
Maybe invest in a drop in k&n filter it will help you with lag and premium gas too
Randy, I don't think you will get much over 10mpg towing, unless you're going down hill with the wind at your back.
Honestly best trucks I’ve ever owned
used from everything from hauling big loads trailers I even take it to the race track no complaints here.
Nice truck Randy happy new year 👏
mpg is measured by a much lower speed then what u are normally driving. And u are also driving it in the colder months which is not gonna help with mpg. Then if u going against the wind, that decreases the numbers.
Just keep an eye on the coolant temperature. The only consistent failure has been the thermostat. It's a new design that is quite different from what you're used to.
Love the new truck. Great color combo too. I only have 1 negative about it. I'd ditch the running boards and buy the auto out-in ones.
I like the truck to I’ve never been inside a ram and I like it
Hello Randy. Reviewing the 2025 Ram Rebel Hurricane SST. It's a great looking truck. How does it tow?
Wat another awesome video and i been waiting on the video of the new truck and i do like it myself i love the color of it and it is a pretty sweet looking too now the other ram was nice too but i kinda dig the rebel a lil more. Anyways thanks for sharing keep up the great work much love to ya randy and cant wait to see the next video take care god bless and i will see ya on the next one
I think the ride quality is better partly because you have more sidewall on those tires. Also EPA ratings are not based off the actual vehicle are buying. The 3.92 gears is probably contributing to lower mileage.
It is and so are the tires
The MPG is going to get better. I was in the same boat when I got mine. As soon as I hit the 4k miles mark the fuel economy got better
Great review. Like the orange on the power wagon. 420 hp turbo nothing not to like on the rebel.
cool truck but i dont feel like 22 pounds of boost is something to be excited about in a daily driver jmo.
The Zf8 transmission runs circles around the 10R80 in my 2022 F150. Owned three Rams before switching back to Ford in 2020 and had nothing but praise.
I’ve manually calculated fuel economy and the computer is within 2%
Randy, I'm looking forward to see how your new truck performs. I just don't read anything very positive about the Hurricane. It's hard to sort through the people who just hate they can't get a Hemi any more and lambast its replacement. I loved V8's all my life, but have been EVing for several years and don't miss them for what I need.
So on the MPG rating they are doing a best case scenario for that 3L engine
Nice truck...but without V8 no go plus overpriced
the ford 300 is an awesome engine! that bullet proof! 4.9l of torque monster
I can't wait to see the towing on this truck. I do like this truck.
It’s a beautiful truck Randy! I love the red. Does it still have the heated and cooled seats?
Yes it does
@@AutoAuctionRebuildsOk! Great for those hot Oklahoma days
Hey Randy maybe one day you could rent a Cybertruck for a weekend or so and make a video on it from your perspective and maybe compare it to the Ram for fun.
Keep up the great videos.
the ZF transmissions have been arround since the 60's or the 70's and been bulletproof all these years
Same ones in the late 90s and early 00s that were a extreme problem with failures?
I think your MPG will go up a bit as the truck breaks in.
I knew it was a bad idea but hey Randy's a grown man
I understand the importance of the warranty and the Taxes appreciate the advice I will be applying to my life and I don't jump for every gimic from these companies
ANOTHER video on the new truck?!?!?! No walkaround of the same ten cars for the twentieth time though so progress I guess.
I'll never understand how there are so many losers with all this free time on their hands... You literally have time to sit around and complain on videos? I respond to comments because it's part of my JOB. You do it for free. Kinda pathetic really.
Will the gas milage improve with a few more break in miles?
I love the hurricane twin turbo engine. I wonder how would it feel in the new chargers with the high output version. Someone also told me they are awd too which will be insane to feel.
Randy, my '23 Ram got lemoned because the transmission went out at 4700 miles. It does happen, it might be rare, but they do fail.
The lights and grill on the new Rebel look cheaper than the 24 model IMO, the new 6 cylinder will be slightly faster but the hemi will last longer and mpg will be identical.
Your gas mileage is not shocking to me. My 2017 VW Golf R turbo gets
20 mpg.
There is no replacement for displacement 😢
What year is the red Chevy pick up truck how much you want for it?
Sweet truck man
What a cool truck.
Enjoy.
Could it be that putting premium fuel in these Hurricane engines result in improved fuel economy?
Hi Andy😊
Thanks for the info
Which one out the 3, had the best stereo, Randy? Warmest Regards from the UK to you and yours bro!
Randy i think you should revise the mpg after 10,000 miles, because a happened to me when I got my new vw i wasn't happy with the mpg at first, but after a few months a got a lot better I will say I a when up 20%
