  • #GravitasPlus| Since time immemorial, food has been used as a weapon of war. Enemies have tried to starve each other.
The Romans did it, so did the Germans, and the Americans.
Colonial Britain weaponised food in India.
Is Russia using the same template?

@@waskyhenry3132 No. Some people hate to have to be grateful when others help them. Easier to blame the benefactors for their problems instead of themselves. Many communist Indians hated that they had to rely on America. All wheat includes a small percentage of seeds of other grasses no matter where it comes from. So when a minuscule portion of wheat has grass seeds they whined, "Oh, the evil Americans are sending us weed seeds." People of USA eat corn and also feed corn to pigs, so these haters go out and tell the Muslim Indians , "Oh, the Americans sent you pig food!" Knowing that would upset Muslims since pigs are Haram. Sheer envy and spite of some Indians. US private aid to India has been massive for many years, but they hate to admit that.

Today I was treated to a simple dinner native to Rajasthan! As we ate Del Bati Churma , Gunde Ki Sabzi and Ghevar for dessert, we were watching this most serious report on how food is used as a weapon of war. The food that has been wasted is abhorrent. Nothing is as important as governments providing food and pure drinking water to all its citizens. We pray here that this insanity stops. Palki, you hit the nail on the head. Both sides need to stop the blame game and end this war. They need to see that much of the world's food security depends upon it. Otherwise, famine will be the end result. And how will we be judged? I believe that we are our brother's keeper and in all the religions of world: Hinduism, Christianity, Islam, Buddhism, Judaism, etc. this is so. Hope everyone has a good start to their week. Thanks, Palki/WION!

Why Don’t Countries Declare War Anymore?.. the decline in formal declarations of war is a worldwide phenomenon. .. the reason states are no longer inclined to declare war is the proliferation of laws governing the conduct of armed conflict... the increased number of codified laws raises the compliance costs of formally acknowledging that states are at war when they use military force... Both the domestic and international explanations point in a common direction: it is more costly to declare war than it is to avoid doing so.. the proliferation of codified jus in bello, the law of war governing belligerent conduct, has created disincentives for states to issue formal declarations of war. The increasing number of codified international laws that govern belligerent conduct during warfare has made complying with the laws of war extremely costly. One way for states to limit these costs is to avoid admitting they are in a formal state of war by refraining from declaring war.. At this point, declaring war is worse than irrelevant-it’s basically all downside and no upside. Even for powerful countries, international organizations like the UN can make it a pain in the ass to break the rules. This is especially true lately: in 1898 there were three codified laws of war; by 1998 there were 33. Certain strategies and weapons aren’t allowed, and the military must be trained to exacting specifications. Lack of compliance means the possibility of being tried for war crimes... T

@@WR-NC-ASPL Obviously you know more about this than me so forgive me if my questions sound silly. I guess I am wondering who exactly would enforce a law of war? Is it all sanctions and such things or is there other punishments? Also if there is a conflict like the one between russia and ukraine but the leader (Putin) does not declare war, do the laws of war still apply? For instance, I hear people say 'Putin committed war crimes' but who is able to punish Putin? I cannot think of anyone who is willing and capable of holding Putin accountable for anything.

This presentation should be played everywhere in India, especially in schools for future generations to never forget basic economics to protect India but also to create great leaders with confidence to take India to a higher level of intellect. Great intelligent leaders who understand how power works(this is what Gandhi knew and "Set the Sun" of empire nonsense) , not to be influenced with theater of nonsense noise, not to take things personally but stick to business and love your children. Create a economic non-violent alliance base and a higher way of thinking to benefit all mankind. India's original faith was scientific because Creation is a intelligent force that is how you are aligned with Creation and life moves forward to the next step in human evolution or Creation will start over with a better model.

    - a lot of African countries have their currency reserves stored in Europe or USA, with the sanctions (+ swift sanctions), they couldn't buy anymore Russian crops.
    - some of the african countries ports belong to european companies (french), therefore, Russian ships with crops weren't allowed to coast
