I would question that, though - it is still open whether it can justify it. Russian approval ratings seem to accept the justification, and at the end the winner may write history and thus justify it. This one sentence - is not objective in that literally Putin IS using this justification and his people are seeming to accept it.

The world needs to know: The world’s neon gas supply is Ukraine! Your computer and cell phone and even your dog & cat’s microchips are etched with uv lasers made with NEON gas! (Let alone the military applications of uv lasers) The U.S. gets over 90% of neon supply from UKRAINE. Putin does not care if all Ukrainians die as long as Russia gets the world’s supply of neon! Neon is not just for fancy bar signs or Las Vegas signs... USA & NATO should be attacking Russia or defending Ukraine at least as we speak! 🤦🏼♂️

Agreed. I have held off delving into the background of this conflict. Mostly as I've had no expectation of being able to find an American source for quality coverage. "This" history lesson was exactly the sort of historic backdrop I cannot remotely expect to see out of the 'authoritative' mainstream media these days. Very much appreciate the segment.

Comparing the British Empires colonization of India to Russia's relationship with the Ukraine is dishonest at best and utterly disrespectful. If you think both sides of the story were given here I feel sorry for you.

What do you have to say about the nulland victory? Or will you want to pretend that your country, where you were made like a dog, didn't intervene and overthrow the pro-Russian government in 2014 and today the conflict that Barack Obama And Biden along with his financiers planned years ago for Russia to attack Ukraine and today they are making billions of dollars selling weapons to +30 countries, do you really believe That there was no coup in that government and the murders were caused only by Viktor? Are we going to ignore the pro-Europe Ukrainian extremists?

If you are keen on History, it may be very interesting for you to read a book of Karamsin, Soloviev, Gumilev, they are all professional historians, who lived long time ago and cannot be accused in cosmetisizing the reality. And there was an outstanding Ukrainian historian Oleg Buzina, who was killed be Ukrainian nationalists in 2014, his historical studies were perfect and he was a very sincere, open minded man, but I don't know, whether his books were translated into English. As for this study from Palki, it very politicized, it is not true. Relations of nations are more complicated, than personal, they may be tragic, but there is no "right or wrong " in history... For example, Russians and Ukrainians ,who at those times were both called Rusichi (Russy) always complain about mongols and tatars invasions, it was awful, the war is always awful, but in the long perspective, they learned from tatars to rule big territories. ..

@@mr.kongunadu9387 You are incredibly naive. Americans are already involved. There is no way Ukraine and Russia will solve this on their own. Russia will simply take what it wants from Ukraine unless or until Ukraine has had enough, and asks for help from NATO. The U.S. has already been supplying military weapons, as well as additional military training. You claim America will take to nuclear level, but offer no explanations that would pass the laughter test. Just because both America and Russia have nukes, doesn't mean that America is going to take it to nuclear level, nor does that mean Russia will for that matter. However, if Russia receives military resistance, I would not be surprised if he escalates it to nuclear level, especially since Russia has already been condemned by numerous other countries, and America has far more military strength than Russia.

Ukraine was apart of Russia for centuries but from a personal perspective of Putin, Ukraine has been apart of Russia more than half of his life. If we look at the situation through a lens of our lives we could compare. For example, I’m 36 years old, Putin is 69 years old. If a U.S. state broke away right now say the state of Texas and 31 years later (how long Ukraine has been independent) when I’m 67 years old the U.S. decides to take over a couple counties of Texas where the people identify as Americans and not the new creation they were caught up in when the whole state declared independence.. I’m straight up going to laugh if someone quoted me that about “past imperialism.” Texas leaves in 2022 and 31 years later the U.S. is like these people in north Texas don’t like you, we’re making them America again… should people of the world send troops to defend all of Texas? I think the two areas in eastern Ukraine should vote who they want to be apart of.

I've watched 3 hours of western media coverage of what's going on between Russia, excuse me, Vladimir Putin and Ukraine and I still didn't understand why. Palki explained it perfectly in under 10 minutes 👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿 thank you
Uh, can you tell me what he exactly explained? This video literally had ZERO introspection to what the US did to cause this. Just focused on what's happening, not why. Listen to "Why is Ukraine the West's Fault? Featuring John Mearsheimer" here on youtube and you'll see why all the takes in the News and western vlogs are total crap. John Mearsheimer said this stuff 6 years ago, and he is right to a T as to what is happening today. West pushed Russia in a corner and now we are all doing surprise Pikachu faces that they are biting back.
Her analysis is way off. Russia has no intention to colonize or subjugate Ukraine. Putin’s aim is to curb NATO expansion and its global imperialism. He also want to give freedom to Donbass regions which are legitimately supposed to break off from Ukraine as agreed in the United Nations. Donbass is supposed to be free but Kiev refuses the right given to it by UN. This is a matter of self preservation for Russia; not imperialism.
Well said palki. Love and respect from Pakistan and Canada. I agree to past imperialism cannot justitfy present day expansionism. Hopefully we can apply this to Palistine and Israel conflict.

Shocking or sensational headlines are what get the most people to tune in, not history lessons. It would be nice to see a format like this tried on some TV media(Maybe it has that I'm not aware of), where it's straight to the point with someone who doesn't talk at a snails pace.
These news are so far from objective. And the pro-Russian also... It's like we will never hear the real story only the politically biased interpretations.
Has the world really moved on...with each independent nation wielding powerful arsenal and with the grace to do whatever with it?....a typical example is the attack Russia just launched on Ukrainian border. My point exactly is....with some much money, influence, artilleries, power and people....can Russia really be stopped? can any country who decides to wage war be truly stopped? These are not the days of bows and arrow anymore....we are talking, the push of a button and disaster is born.

It's all bull. You people need to go back and deep investigate what is happening in the world. Need bigger picture. US left Afghanistan, izrael bombing Syria??? ect....
Yes, facts, but not all facts, and not all details of facts. For example, it was not said that the eastern regions of modern Ukraine are Russian territories that were gifted to Ukraine by Vladimir Lenin in about 1920, then USSR was formed. Ironically, one more Vladimir. On the other hand, the western regions are previous territories of Poland, Romania and Hungary, that were joined to Ukraine by Joseph Stalin just before WWII. And that was big Stalin's strategic mistake. I myself live in Sevastopol (Crimea). And don't say me that I live in Ukraine, I live in Russia. The Russian flags here are not because people here are afraid of assault rifles but because people here consider this correct. Nikita Khrushchev, who gifted Crimea to Ukrainian SSR as a symbol of eternal friendship between Russians and Ukrainians, are very unpopular here.
@@malvinapushkova2386 I guess these facts are always omitted because they do not fit the narrative of present political views, but in general Palka gave pretty good overview of the Ukrainian history. Of course she should also mention Catherine the Great ant Otomans and history of how Crimea became Russian. And of course people who know something about Russia should know that Russia would never let control of navy bases in Sevastopol to go to another hand. Same like the navy base in Syria. We live in the world in which history and its correlation to many territorial issues has no meaning for majority, not toroughly educated people, and therefore it makes it easier to manipulate masses to whatever agenda is on the mind of ruling classes. So sad.

Does it come as a surprise?! Maybe not! Also no mention that another empire disputed Crimea! It was...Don't laugh the British empire! Nowadays, funny detail, it's the American empire! Exactly like in Afghanistan! Is it really a surprise?! You tell me! No mention at all! That back in 2014, when Russians were indeed. Ready to "leave" Crimea! As an American, I just wanted to share my thoughts on this segment. This was VERY WELL put together WITH FACTS. Not opinions. So many people in our world today are incapable of separating fact from opinion. The facts come fast in this video as does the history. The most IMPORTANT thing we must remind ourselves of these international conflicts is. What do the people of Ukraine want? Ultimately the decision should be up to them. As an American I must also remind myself of what do the people of Donetsk and Luhansk want? If they wish to become or remain Russian and Russian governed. Then we should also respect that. This is the year 2023. We cannot continue with these nonsensical wars and extreme violence against entire peoples. We slaughtered ourselves and each other for a hundred thousand years and only in the last 200 years of mankind’s existence have we actually broken through with technologies and laws that allow all of us to live a more safe, secure, and prosperous existence. That being said. We must also protect the weak. “Aggression unchallenged leads to more aggression”. For our children’s sakes. We have real problems as a species that we need to solve and men like Putin are preventing all of us from solving them and graduating to the next level of peace and prosperity.

Where was the so called "International Law" when the USA killed so many people around the world? Where was the so called right to "Right to self Determination" when the UK partitioned India? If Putin conducting referendums on foreign soil is illegal, why was Pakistan created through the same basis? USA forcibly helped to break apart Russia and when it wants its territory back its a breach of International law? As for this study from Palki, it very politicized, it is not true. Relations of nations are more complicated, than personal, they may be tragic, but there is no "right or wrong " in history... For example, Russians and Ukrainians ,who at those times were both called Rusichi (Russy) always complain about mongols and tatars invasions, it was awful, the war is always awful, but in the long perspective, they learned from tatars to rule big territories. ..

You claim America will take to nuclear level, but offer no explanations that would pass the laughter test. Problem is the west is still doing imperialism.
you think that would be common sense but no.. apparently it's not. conquering is not okay.
Then why is NATO trying to get involved with Ukraine?
Ukraine was apart of Russia for centuries but from a personal perspective of Putin, Ukraine has been apart of Russia more than half of his life. If we look at the situation through a lens of our lives we could compare. For example, I’m 36 years old, Putin is 69 years old. If a U.S. state broke away right now say the state of Texas and 31 years later (how long Ukraine has been independent) when I’m 67 years old the U.S. decides to take over a couple counties of Texas where the people identify as Americans and not the new creation they were caught up in when the whole state declared independence.. I’m straight up going to laugh if someone quoted me that about “past imperialism.”
Texas leaves in 2022 and 31 years later the U.S. is like these people in north Texas don’t like you, we’re making them America again… should people of the world send troops to defend all of Texas?
I think the two areas in eastern Ukraine should vote who they want to be apart of.

Her analysis is way off. Russia has no intention to colonize or subjugate Ukraine. Putin’s aim is to curb NATO expansion and its global imperialism.
She's not explaining Ukraine's history. She's telling a story to pick sides! Wow!
Example: It's curious how she didn't mention that Nikita Krushev. Also known as "the Ukrainian butcher"!! Changed Crimea, from Russia to Ukraine sphere of influence within USSR, in the late 50's! All that while NOT mentioning HE himself WAS Ukrainian!
American navy already had on going contractors, preparing to occupy and update the ports! The moment Russia turned it's back?! Curious those contracts were online for quite some time! US didn't even had enough shame to hide that one! LOL 😂 Oh! and there's so much more!

Detailed and clearly explained, thank you for educating us.. "Russia got angry. It had lost its puppet." I love this channel..
"Claiming Ukraine on the basis of colonial history is wrong." 👏👏👏
She's absolutely correct and we need more transparent journalists like her.
But ukraine joinig hands with america , which is on the other side of continent , and putting american missilies inside ukraine which only have 5minute flight time to moscow is oke ? They provoked putin.
@@s3kir3i98 I stand with Putin, this justification of the invasion is not like UK claiming India, but instead like the Americans saying that Kashmir is a part of Pakistan. I am no Nazi or Communist sympathizer, and I do not justify the murder of so many people, but saying Russia is wrong is just pure hypocrisy. The International Law is just a medium for powerful countries to control the less developed countries, and make them their playground.
Use your brain! When America and England attacked Palestine killed innocent people destroyed their homes replaced them by jewish forcefully based on history that because hundreds of years ago Jewish people lived in that area and forcefully created another country(Israel) inside a country, it was okey nobody complained now Russia want their properties back and that's wrong USA and UK are in pain and complain about!!! Israel still killing innocent people but nobody hears it nobody sees it cuz they've been doing this for a long time so nobody cares about anymore, other people other countries are used to it!!!!
When USA attacked Iraq, Libya, Sudan, Vietnam, Afghanistan... it was all okey but now Russia attack for taking back their properties is wrong and shameful in the eyes of USA Uk and...
@Mark W o god, this is what indoctrination does to people "never attacked unprovoked" what a joke, Ukraine joining NATO is the same thing as Canada replacing Cuba during the missile crisis, by what you said I assume you must be from the USA, wouldn't you feel treatened If Canada where influenced by Russia and China, becoming their allies and allowing military bases with equipament capable of reaching most of your countries important cities?
The thing is that u can't say Russia is wrong because it is how world work if u say so almost all major super power countries are already wrong. There is nothing like this is wrong or right in the world, the powerful one takes the position.
So from other perspective in this situation, Ukraine is just being stubborn to a Strong by relying on unreliabl....
All countries can't care all these situation because there are so much conflict in the world also many countries are struggling themselves, facing their own problem/conflict
The thing that I want to say is that *|the world is never in peace and you can't say who is wrong/right because that's how world works.|*
