The callsigns Michonne and Judith on the radio, Daito and Shoto, are a matched pair of traditionally made Japanese swords. Daito, the larger Katana of the pair is sign that Michonne uses whilst Shoto, the smaller sword is used by Judith.
Rob, I don’t know if you remember but on an episode in season 7, you said something like, “could you imagine if michonne was a savior? She’d be a beast” 🤔 Well now you know 😂
The writers did an amazing job here. In this episode, the whole series came full circle. To watch the series for 10 years and in a few minutes to insert one of the most beloved characters into an alternate plot, there is no other way than to say hats off. That's how the characters are treated. Also, there are no better people to reaction from the two of you because you noticed the orange backpack in the first seconds of the third season and followed it through the seasons.Hats off to the special effects team also. If you noticed in the scene where everyone kneels before Negan, Glenn is not among the survivors because Michonne killed him in the satellite complex. And as before, the soundtrack is amazing and nothing can hit the emotions as hard as The Walking Dead. For me,only TWD can bring that Pay off moment after long term watching. This episode actually answers the question of what Walking Dead is all about.
This episode is the worst thing the writers ever done. There has never been any meaning in the walking dead and that is why I love it, but here they tried to force meaning.
Well put.. the meaning is how people survive in this world are at the brink of loosing their humanity .. and how keeping themselves alive inside is the way.. not to be the walking dead
So with the Judith thing, she basically lied to Michonne. She knew Michonne needed to go look for Rick, but wouldn't do it if she believed they where still in danger, so she told her it was delt with so she could go.
Judith telling Michonne to go find Rick absolutely shattered my heart But she’s right All these years wondering if he was alive or dead And now there’s a lead Michonne needs to bring him home.
Glenn killed Laura at the outpost. Michonne killed Glenn and Heath at the outpost. So Glenn was not in the line-up of 7x01 because he already died at the outpost.
Rick left in the helicopter with Anne/Jadis and I’ve always wondered why Gabriel and Negan never mentioned anything about ever seeing a helicopter or wondering where Jadis has been all this time.
We don't know if they did or not, it's never brought up on the show but they never show them discussing Jadis again but you have to assume at least Gabriel told people about it but Negan wouldn't necessarily have any reason to, he's been locked up in a cell for over 6 years and why would Gabe have any reason too talk about it with Negan
I don't know if you're into gaming but the new TWD game covers the 1st four seasons. When Rick and Shane fight the player gets to decide who survives. So you could see what could have happened if Shane had ended up being leader.
also with everything we know it could be possible that Rick or others have been watching? not sure if it was confirmed that the drawing was by rick. or confirmed to be ricks image of how Judith would look years later
nah they did such a clever job with cutting this episode and how they did it all, re-cyceling old scenes. The surprise I had when I saw Andrea uff😂 and her finally finding the clue „the brave man“ is actually still alive BROKE me😭, as well as seeing her whole journey right from the beginning again but different obviously. They came to a full circle with Michonne's character here. In the end of the episode she was almost back to her old self before she met Andrea and the others, not trusting anyone and walking with the dead but then she overcame that once and for all deciding to trust again, just like Rick trusted her when she came up to the prison fence all these years ago, deciding to walk with the living instead and „reaching out again“ to other people just like Carl would've wanted her to. Ricks theme when he blew up the bridge in 9x5 playing in the end of this episode was just a perfect way to finish it.
Judith lied to Michonne so she would go look for Rick, the Alpha situation hasn't 100% be resolved yet. Judith knew Michonne wouldn't leave if she though her kids were still in danger........ Good review 👍🏾
Wonderful but kinda sad episode. It was advertised as Michonne's last episode BUT.....we still have hope for them! Hahaha! Another great episode, ya'll! Keep watching!
I remember i was so hyped for that with too manny chills. That was the last time for Michonne in The Walking Dead🥺 I am very hyped for the Daryl Show and the Michonne and Rick Show or Movie i think🤔
Damn, redemption is a long road, even if your a badass like Negan. I got to say, this is one of the oddest episodes in the walking dead, not that it's not interesting, it's just an odd thing to put in, not Ricks boots and the phone but the whole, what if?, trip. I was just always surprised she never went back first and just left during the whisperer stuff. I know Judith told her they beat them but that's your kids and you would at least want to know what happened. I just her just leaving was crazy, I get why but how I don't understand. You'll find out more later but truth is, we still don't understand everything but we are still going to find out eventually I assume. All we knew at this point is Danai laeft the show too
At this point I don't know if the Whisperers were dealt with, or if Judith was just telling her what she needed to hear to leave to look for Rick, she wouldn't completely leave if she thought her home was still in danger.
with one more season left i decided to go back and look how long i've been following you all with this series.... it has been exacly 1 and 1/2 years you've been covering this series!!!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT??? .... March 17, 2022 was your first episode.... Just wow, time flies... You've done an excellent job with it! thank you very much.
a couple of weeks ago a game trailer came out for a new TWD game. The gameplay details are unclear, but they are focusing on "what if" scenarios like Shane killing Rick. looks intersting, maybe give it a watch? it looks a bit rough atm, but who knows might be an interesting game

Just when I thought I would be safe from ever seeing stupid Andrea again, THEY HAVE TO FLASHBACK AND SHOW HER AGAIN. I’m mostly joking, it’s not that big of a deal, but I still can’t stand Andrea and I never will!
Whoever edited that scene with the alternative timeline should be promoted lol That was arguably the most mind blowing sequence in the show yet Just seeing Rick again yes through old archival footage made me so emotional for no reason But it just goes to show how one simple decision to save Andrea can change everything Then next thing you know and boom Michonne falls in with the Saviors and doesn’t have a family to support her and to help keep her humanity and she becomes no better than Negan in Season 7 The butterfly effect show in It’s finest.

The thing with the drawing is that Rick doesn't have to have seen Judith at her age now. He's aware time has passed and he's aware Carl left her the hat. The drawing is at the end of the day, a picture of a little girl with a hat so he wouldn't have had to see Judith now to know she's grown up
This was such a confusing episode for me. I had so many questions about where Michonne ends. This was when the pandemic was starting. So I think they the writers were having trouble with what direction they could take the show. Till next time. Ta ta 🙋
I can't believe you're here already 😭😭😭😭 Yeah Carol had to be taken out of the Saviors introduction cause NO WAY would she have kneeled and just watched as Abraham and Glenn were murdered and Daryl was kidnapped The way Rick had Japanese writing on his IPhone and then we hear Michonne and Judith refer to each other as the Japanese words for "long sword" and "short sword". I wonder if he's heard their walkies in the 6 years
I've always been a fan of choice based games that shift the story as you play. The idea of your entire life shifting because you went left instead of right is so interesting to me. So this definitely was an intriguing episode to me. Still kinda wish Andrea hadn't been done so dirty in the show. But water under the bridge. Pales in comparison to how dirty they did Carl. Michonne going through her life but on the other side was very interesting to say the least
Great reaction. At first I thought maybe this Asian person drew it for Rick once he described what they looked like, maybe he was saying their faces are fading and this individual drew Michonne & Judith so he could always remember them and wrote his name on it. Remember when Carl was in the tunnel under Alexandria after getting everyone down there whilst Negan was destroying and bombing up the place above them, Carl was slowly dying and said goodbye to Judith and told her "you be good OK, for Michonne, for Dad..." etc etc after he talks he gave her his hat and said "this was Dad's before it was mine and now its yours..." etc in front of Rick & Michonne then she stretches out her arms towards him whilst they pass her to Daryl and she starts to cry and thats when we all lost in on top of the pain of seeing Carl slowly dying before our eyes like that. Plus her hair was about shoulder length then so 6 years on it would have grown quite a bit hence that drawing on the phone so maybe a good guess by Rick - who knows, just theorizing.
I never believed that Rick drew the picture on the phone. It literally says “Rick” on it and the Japanese text means ‘not long now’ or to that affect. It was drawn by someone who’s seen them and the phone given to Rick like someone giving him a photo. It’s addressed TO him. Why would he write his own name?
such a shame danai decided to leave the show considering there was only one more season to go after this one, but such a brilliantly thought out, well done episode to send her off. ur so close to the finale! i can’t wait, it’s a really good one!
If i remember correctly she just left to film Wakanda Forever and another project. The whole Michonne's arc this season was kinda written to give Danai time off. Wasn't Lauren Cohen the one who actually left but came back after Angela talked to her?
@@saintwolfie9108 yes, Danai left the show to pursue other projects. i don’t think they knew season 11 was going to be the final season at the time or i’m sure she would’ve stuck around. it’s very unheard of for a lead character to depart a show in the penultimate season, but it’s all worked out aye! and again, yes! Lauren Cohan left in season 9 due to pay disputes. she wanted a pay rise more in league with Norman Reedus but AMC refused, so she left the show. I’m not sure if she returned because Angela Kang spoke to her, all I do know is Lauren joined another show that got cancelled after one season and then she came back to TWD😂
7:54 that whole orange backpack scene was when michone Carl and rick were going on a run in season 3 like episode 13 or something and then they run into psycho Morgan , then on drive back they see him dead and take the backpack lol
Virgil reminds me of Morgan so much A man who feels responsible for the death of his family and is seemingly driven to insanity by it The only difference being we all loved Morgan because of the pilot episode so fans wanted to see him get better.
Yeh we never saw negans reaction to like how badass and savage carol is , I guess as she was always with the kingdom who negan never actually went there
TWD managed it a heckofa lot better than GOT tho 👀 Maybe in hindsight they did rush a few things for TWD to manage to wrap it up but personally I didn’t notice that at all whilst watching the episodes, which I definitely did for GOT (just felt like I had to explain my opinion..) 😅
@@YuukiMoo lol I didn't watch GOT because about the time I thought I would I started reading comments about being rushed & the ending comments were off the wall mad so I just didn't watch..& I hate the what ifs on twd..I'm just simple😉
@@AlejoConejo-vb8ln Arrow didn't rush, it was literally the ending that Stephen Amell wanted. They wnated to make it a longer season, but he didn't want to because he didn't feel like that would make sense. I don't really understand the Arrow example in here.
@@rhodabennett672 My suggestion is to make up your own mind about a show like GOT and if you ever feel like it, jsut give it a chance. It's really not as terrible as everyone makes it out to be with the ending, and the show itself is a MUST watch show if you're into that kind of thing. I don't reallyt agree though personally that TWD did anything in a rushed fashion or whatever. Even if they did, which I again don't think they did, why do you have to tell them that?
Rick doesn't know what Judith looks like, but the drawing was just an overall assumption of what he thinks she looks like now. It's just a simple drawing of a girl with his hat
The strangest episode to write a character out of the series. I don't know, my feelings are very ambivalent. For a normal episode it was okay. For a character farewell it was too lame and too strange for me.
Negan: "Damn, this chick has some cajones."

😂😂we are keeping safe as much as possible, but we will call you if it happens 😂
This is where TWD started rushing everything in order to end..from this episode on. Sad really..but I'm with you until the end😊
TWD managed it a heckofa lot better than GOT tho 👀
Maybe in hindsight they did rush a few things for TWD to manage to wrap it up but personally I didn’t notice that at all whilst watching the episodes, which I definitely did for GOT (just felt like I had to explain my opinion..) 😅
@@YuukiMoo lol I didn't watch GOT because about the time I thought I would I started reading comments about being rushed & the ending comments were off the wall mad so I just didn't watch..& I hate the what ifs on twd..I'm just simple😉
I wouldn't say "rushing". The final season is the longest because they DIDN'T want to rush like Game of Thrones or Arrow did.
It’s the best they could come up with to write someone off when they didn’t have the balls to kill her off
