Can we take a minute to realize that this guy has a job, uploads some of the best drone reviews on youtube, has an actual upload schedule, is appealing to all ages AND hearts and replies to almost every comment? Cause if we can that would be great.
Why thank you kind sir.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 No problem! Have a great new year! :D
@CAPTAIN DRONE thank you for your vids!!! Its funny, I just used my P4 V2 to inspect my roof because there was a leak in my master bedroom. It did a great job due to it being windy. The one feature I like in your drones is the zoom feature. Keep up the great work!!
He is fast becoming the go-to drone reviewer.
soo true!
I just got the DJI Mini 2 Fly more combo, and I can't even say how excited I am
Got my Mini 2 on the 22nd Dec.
Hope to fly today.
Me too me too my wife got me mine for Xmas Uber excited to fly
Me too, gots the Mini 2 Fly More Combo with 1 year DJI Care Refresh package.
I love it so much it's ridiculous really!
Sweet
Keep well and be safe everyone!
Don't have that exact one, but I'm still real happy for yah, man. Have fun, and let us know how you like it
Don't have to, I can see it in your face. LLH (laugh like hell).
THE BEST OF WINTER IS YOUR DRONE TALK VIDEOS.
Another excellent video, always presented with the passion you have for the hobby. Thank you.
Great job again I’m glad you did this show to help many drone pilots out there to achieve the best knowledge of the best drone for them in many price ranges
Love this channel! Thank you for all the great spot on information!
Props to you still uploading even with the infection. Hope u get well soon
Thank you!
Thanks again Captain, I'm in renovation business and newbie for the drone hobby, this is the biggest question I have about drone.
Thanks! I think I have my beginning commercial drone. I appreciate your affirmation. Great review also.
Thanks! This helped tremendously! I was actually thinking about this before I saw your video.
Good morning from Germany. I like my Anafi and for windy condition the H520. Best wishes and THANK YOU for your Work
Thank you for taking the time to make this video. Much appreciated. Happy New Year !
Happy new year!
Very informative! I was speaking with a contractor friend just yesterday about using drones on his work sight. His answer was that he already has a drone for that. His name is Billy. He is the new guy.
I sent him your vid link. I think he will quit goofing around and see the benefit of a drone now.
Thanks again Captain!
So much info in your videos. You’ve been a great help to a drone newbie. Thank you! 👍🏻
16min summed it up perfectly. Everyone thinks their is so important you want to Film them LOL happy New Year
super helpful as i was one of the many to ask about this. Answered all my questions and such detailed videos. thank you
Glad it was helpful!
I did use my ol' Spark to inspect my parent's roof and it does it pretty decently as well.
Exactly the review I was looking for. Thanks a million.
Great video Cap'n - reminded me of when I inspected our roof with my first drone, the Eachine E511, that has no GPS. A little nerve-wracking doing it that way to say the least lol.
I bought the parrot anafi for Christmas for just this reason. Thanks for making me feel good about my purchase
That's one of the main reasons that I have my drones... is to inspect my roof and gutters. Sure as hell beats climbing up and down on a ladder. Thanks for the video. As always. A lot of work on your end..... 👍.
Great video, I am a lic. Home inspector. I bought the JJRC x12 after one of your reviews. The features at the time seemed good for a budget drone and I also wanted to practice flying on a cheaper drone. I recently thought I had the flying confidence to attempt using it on an inspection. It Didn’t go well .... lol. I think there was too much interference and I lost it. The MINI will prob be my next choice . Trying to save up because money is a big factor in this time living with Covid and trying to work.
Happy Holidays to you and your family‼️‼️. 💥 🥂🍾🥂💥
I have to say, you are definitely the best Drone reviewer on RUclips🤩👍 you cover every single base, you are so professional and so knowledgeable, very happy that you are on RUclips. I know there are a lot of options out there to watch different channels of other reviewer‘s, but there is really no need to look at other Drone channels, you cover every single base. CAPTAIN DRONE is the #1 drone guy on RUclips-PERIOD 👍👍👍
Wow, thanks!
Funny how things work out. I had to find out what my chimney looked like so I could put a spark arrester on it. I was going to get on the roof myself until my wife recommended I use my new Mini 2 drone. Duh, worked perfectly! Love your videos, keep them coming.
Steve, awesome video my friend!!!
It's probably just me, but I tend to feel like I'm that most important person with the exception of when I'm at the control! Then that Zen feeling hits and I wonder what everyone problem is! You make a great point that's why you are Captain Drone!!
Great review Steve. Your always on top of things. HAPPY NEW YEAR..
Hello Steeve,
I appreciate this review because a few weeks ago you informed me well about the DJI Mini2 and Air2. I bought a Mini 2 precisely to inspect the solar panels on the roofs of my clients. Thank you again for the good advice.
Have a great holiday.
Glad I could help
After using a budget 250 dollar drone I upgraded to the Mini 2 fly more package. Couldn’t be happier. Flew it in 12mph withs with 25 gusts at 400 and footage was rock solid. I can see using it for inspection
Good information to decide on. Thanks 👍🏽😊 Hope you feel better soon.
Thank you!
Thanks for another great video!
Excellent Video Steve! Thank You.
Glad you liked it!
I just got the Mini 1 for a Christmas gift 2020 and now I want the Mini 2 just because of ZOOM. But I generally just get closer with something with my current mini so it is what it is :)
Have used my Mavic 3 Zoom for inspecting my roof and works well. Nice to have the sensors to avoid hitting that chimney.
Excellent Video and Excellent Tips Steve. Thank You.
Thank you!
Great info Steve, thanks & I hope you have a great New Year! 🦘👍😎
Happy new year!
Merry Christmas. Love your videos.
Merry Christmas!
great review again captain
Good night family and good health to everyone. Happy holidays 🙏 and always thank you for your valuable information 👍👍🙏🇵🇷
As always very informative 👍
Nice review Steve , hope you have a happy new year and stay safe
Thanks, you too!
Great video on the drones. Your the man 👍
Thanks Steve very well done 👍🏻
I just built a impulseRC apex. I’ll use that to inspect my roof! Just picked up another frame and motors for apex number two!
Great video Steve. As a Civil Ingineer I use the Evo 1. No restrictions, great 4K camera and the best 8X zoom and it is under $999
I would have included the EVO 1 but AUTEL discontinued it this year.
@@CAPTAINDRONE798 Fair enough. Time for this Autelophite to purchase some batteries. The lack of geo-fencing is important to me.
Watching this year of 2022 and it is helpful and informative.
That's a beautiful house! 🏡 💖
I hope you are better! I missed your videos, happy holidays !! Best regards.
Thank you!
Very cool.
I've used my mini to read the nameplate data on a pole mounted distribution transformer. It was calm.
Hope to see you review the Litchi app for the minis.
Second
First of all we have to appreciate you for taking your time off for making these videos
Thank you!
Awesome review as usual.
i want that skydio2,already have the mavic air2 and its a beast of a drone and also my go to drone when out filming
Merry Christmas Capt
Ahh skydio... You are the next one on my list you bastard!!
Hi Steve,
@9:40 it shows water in the eves. Better to clean and improve eves drainage levels if necessary after cleaning. Really enjoy your channel. Prevents water damage. Best wishes.
IMO also important for any inspection is using a large phone (tablet) on the controller. The iPad Mini 5 is an ideal size where a sunhood can also be used during sunny days.
Awesome views,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I think captain drone is the king of all the drone experts on RUclips ,his advice is the best imho , his hiking vid on the
looks like you need more insulation in that roof :) hope ya all had a good xmas and new year. all the best for 2021
Great comparison. I have the MA2 and am looking at using it for these purposes. Just need to find the businesses that could use this service...
Disculpa por el español, te sigo desde hace mucho tiempo, desde Costa Rica, latinoamericana. Excelente contenido, hay te dejo mi like
Many people who complain about these prices often drive $30k - $60k vehicles and don't even think twice about those high costs. I see this with bicycles too. To get a really good full suspension mountain bike it's easily $3k or more. And that's the starting point of the good stuff.
As always, you get what you pay for.
So when I pay $1500 for a Skydio 2 with the sports package so I can get all of it's features to film me riding my expensive mountain bikes......I don't sweat it.
that's weird but tbh they normally lease the cars so it looks like they pay less but they pay alot
I use the mavic mini for tower inspections, cheap and easy to fly inside the tower
Bravo good video thanks
12:29 the "shadow" that is actually really smart. Cuz without it. If someone thought it might miss. They could really mess something up.
Steve, as you may already know Autel now have drone insurance for AUTEL EVO 2. Up two replacement for the drone if it can't be repaired, I believe.
This is the most informative and complete review I’ve seen, and being a noub at 81 years, answered my most burning questions. Now I can decide what my next drone will be ,when visiting my 2nd home in the Philippines .
And yes, I am a subscriber, and a fan. My 1st drone ,the Phantom 3, is waiting at home in Metro Manila.
Best Regards,
LightninRod
Wow, thanks!
Very interesting!
Awesome choices for roof inspections, etc. That's what I do with my mini drone.✈✈👀☺
You can't go wrong with those great drones. Hope you had a wonderful Christmas Steve my friend and God bless you always and everyone. Very helpful and great expertise from our good friend Captain Drone.👋👍☺🙏
Merry Christmas Shane
What type of businesses do you inspect roofs for?
@@gordonhutchinson529 me I just check the roof out where I live at while flying around.👍☺👋✈✈👀
have a nice day steve
It's been snowing here in England started yesterday morning was coming down thick this morning, first time for 5 years but you get snow annually in Canada, probably watch Jean Michel Jarre's concert on RUclips NYE , always liked he's floating in space electronic music
Great video!
Drones have really opened up many different areas to be used for.
I hope we get to see an quiet drone, which can record sound, a journalism type of drone for when you wanna walk around and record yourself without the need for an tripod or an camera man.
I think SONY is about to launch such a drone.
You don't want to record the noise of the drone. Maybe use the microphone on the controller, or sync the sound from an actioncam.
In Canada if your drone is 250 grams and up you have to register your drone and get a license to fly it. If it is 249.9 grams and under you do not have to register it or get a license to fly it; but I believe that you still have to follow the Transport Canada rules of not flying above 400 feet above ground. Other than that, great review on those drones, I like that you give the pros and cons of each.
I used the SG906 pro, having a gimble is a must. But after this video i am ordering the mini 2. I am impressed every time you bring up the dm2. My wife thanks you for that expense, Steve.
Good choice!
I think the Mavic 2 Zoom will be perfect because it has 360 obstacle avoidence with tripod mode and also it has optical zoom 48mm and even 96mm which is the best for my need.
Hey Captain drone, there is some water pooling in your back gutters! it sort of has a zoom. what it does is when you press the zoom button on the controller, the drone moves close to what is in center of the camera until it decides its close enough to hit it.
Wow I like it
Surprised at the Anafi
I probably should have watched this before I purchased my Holy Stone HS720E 4K EIS Drone with UHD Camera for Adults, Easy GPS Quadcopter f yesterday. Well I will have to see how it serves me.
Dear Captain, have a great New year 2021, cheers
Happy New Year!
I keep asking for a mq1 predator drone for Christmas and megaprojects does an awesome 👌 video on it
Due to the UK's recent (as of 31 Dec 2020) drone law changes, due to its weight the DJI Mini is extremely valuable because it is legally allowed to be flown over residential areas. Heavier drones, like my new drone the Hubsan Zino, is not permitted to fly over such areas (without special licensing). Of course, in the UK you have to get special licensing anyway if you want to be paid to work with your drone.
Great video! Can you recommend a company or companies to purchase drone liability insurance from for commercial usage?
I just bought a drone because of u can’t wait to use it
bought my drone over 6 months ago still not managed to get out to use it. lol. why did i buy a drone. when i live in wales. we always have strong winds and rain all the time. i did not think this one through. lol. role on 3 days of summer. lol. :( hope ya get to fly it soon. :)
@@TKs3DPrints hopefully it works and you know it has wind resistance protection right??
@@marshalltoney9191 depends on the drone you have some are better than others in the wind. my drone is the hubsan pro. i hear its ok with mild winds etc. not that i ever intend to fly to high as i got my drone to record video footage of buildings and ruins and stuff so i can then use with my 3d programs to convert into 3d models. mostly for buildings about to be destroyed so i we have a 3d record of them before they are knocked down. or fall down. more concerned with the rain. but still its a hubsan though it has a great 4k cam ideal for my purpose. its not the most reliable drone. due to firmware updates etc. wish i had just saved a little more cash and got the mini. ahh well :)
Splash is a good drone to have in the UK. It’s water proof
@@TKs3DPrints a typhoon H plus can handle any wind, it does it all.
Nicee... 👍👍👍
I'm sure you must have seen the drones on Ted talks. . .
I think it's inaccurate of the 'powers that be' to classify drone weights as a the factor in heavier the drone the bigger threat of damage.
The drone shown on Ted Tv has programmable facial recognition and can deliver a precision strike to the targets forehead delivering .3 grams of plastic explosive, thus terminating it's target. It uses AI and can also be programmed to strike dependent on cultural attire or other factors. The drone is pretty small and from what I have seen of it, operates almost flawlessly. Having a career in E.O.D. - I can vouch for the performance of the explosives used and their effectiveness.
If these were to fail into the wrong hands, anyone could find themselves in s world of hurt.
Excellent review as always, Cap !
If you haven't seen the weaponized drone, have a look at Ted Talks.
All the best to you
Wulfy
For any commercial work I use the Mavic 2 Zoom, for roof I set to 1080p to take advantage of the max zoom. I'm surprised you didn't include this one. I also have a mini 2 but use that one for hobby and MC trips. And of course my Mavic Air for making lot's of noise :)
The video mentions the MAVIC 2 ZOOM and explains why it was not included.
I do a lot of roof inspections, in fact I have two this afternoon. I use a Phantom 4 Pro because some of my clients want to create 3D models and they need the GPS data. I think, of your list that leaves you with the larger Mavic series.
If I showed up with the Mavic Mini, I think they'd tell me to take my toy home and they'd hire a 'real' pilot haha.
Personally, I love the Autel Evo for most anything, including roof inspections. Better camera than the DJI stuff, and the smaller size is nice for sticking it in tight places, the lower sound level keeps neighbors from even knowing I'm there.
Looking at branching out from RE into roof inspections - what type of businesses are using your service?
@@gordonhutchinson529 Right now it's mostly insurance companies and solar companies. Insurance for damage assessment, and solar for site surveys.
In Sweden there is a restriction for sub 250 g, IF they have camera. You have to have license for that. Sub 250g without camera can be flight without license.
And I guess that is the same for all EU.
It must be so nice to be so famous that all these drone manufacturers have your Caption Drone stickers all over them. I really didn't realize you were so famous that certainly would qualify you to be infamous; ha ha more than famous. 😂😂😂 😉 🙄 (Three Amigos 1986)
That would be cool if a company made a CAPTAIN DRONE.. drone.
Captain drone the hoodies that you're wearing do you sell those and if so how can I get one fly safe
Good drones ❤️❤️
What do you think of the newParrot Anafi-USA military drone vresion.?thank you for your time sir?
🤣😅 lol!! People think their lives are so important they freak out when a drone flies over! I had to watch this video again and that's when I caught that!
I remember when you flew over the house when you were having shingles replaced.
Thanks for your review, so between DJI Air 2S and Mavic 2 Pro, which one would you pick for roof inspection? do you think Omnidirectional Obstacle Sensing on Mavic 2 pro is worth to invest on it?
I think this episode also answers the question "hey steve, what drone is suitable for peering at the neighbors".. ^_^
i suggest making a video of how to make cinematic shots with budget drones, plsss
I like it,,,
I actually still use my p3s for roof works.... and it just works.....
