    Excellent video! Your step-by-step process even showing how you needed to adapt when it came to the wiring harness was perfection! I ended up buying the Smitty built relocation bracket and putting it on based off of your video which was actually more clear than the instructions sent with the kit. I 100% recommend

      Hey AloPandur, Thanks. Glad to have you follow along and I’m glad you found some tips useful. As for the rear tailgate table, I was wondering if it would hinder the sleeping platform so I put it off. I still may install one. Thanks for watching. Cheers. 🇨🇦

      @@CheaperJeeperTV Hey Dino, I built the sleep platform, heavily using your idea and drawings, but ended modifying it my way and have the folding table perfectly working with that platform. Just got the goose gear 60% seat delete bracket, but riding the "rona" right now and as soon as I put this virus behind me I will get rid permanently of the 60% seat and modify, drop the sleep platform a bit lower (but the plywood prices doubled, so it might wait a bit)... What size tire did you put on it? I have a 285/70/17 that seems to be too wide for the bracket and presses up against the third brake light.

    • @CheaperJeeperTV
      @CheaperJeeperTV  9 месяцев назад

      315/70/17. They can be seen in this video -> ruclips.net/video/gh6N390zGnA/видео.html
      The third brake light position is adjustable, so you can put it where it best suits you.

      @@twbl218 Do you have stock rims? I called Smittybilt directly and they said it won't work for stock rims, only aftermarket rims. Something to do with the offset. I went with the Rough Country Bracket and it worked.

      Hey Mike,
      It's been on for under a year, but I am really happy with it's design and quality. The hinge of the Jeep's tailgate does creek from the weight of the larger tire, but the door still is lined up and doesn't show any signs of change. Thank you for the feedback on the video. Cheers.

      Ha ha. I know. If I didn't mind the placement of the wire going in front of the bracket I would have been fine. But, as the video showed, I had an OCD moment, and decided to back track, and unplug the wiring, so I could feed it behind the. bracket. It was an extra step, but I think it looks better being tucked in behind. Cheers.

    Did you have any problems with the back up sensors beeping when you had the larger tire on without the relocation bracket? If you did, did this bracket fix the beeping sensor issue. Currently I have a 35" tire on the back of my jeep with no relocation bracket and my back up sensors are beeping because it's seeing the tire and I'm looking for a solution to that.

    • @CheaperJeeperTV
      @CheaperJeeperTV  3 года назад

      Hey Todd, For my tire, It was too tight a fit when I tried to mount it without the bracket, so I never experienced the beeping. I am certain other experiencing beeping now, as I am using the bracket. That’s an interesting problem to have the tire in without the bracket and have the beeping. Let me know what you end up doing. Cheers.

      @@CheaperJeeperTV So I went with a bracket that raised my spare tire by 2.25". This resolved my backup sensors issue. The other thing I would mention is that I read that the TPMS in the spare tire can set the sensors off. They say to put the TPMS on the spare as close to 12 o'clock as possible. Mine was at the 11 o'clock position and my drivers side rear sensors would go off when in reverse. Before I installed my bracket, I moved my TPMS to the 1 o'clock position by rotating the spare (before In installed my bracket) and sure enough, the passenger side sensors would go off when I put my Jeep in reverse. So I believe there is definitely truth to the TPMS sensors causing some interference. After I installed my tire relocation bracket, I have not had a single issue with the back up sensors. So I would confirm that in my experience, moving the spare tire up at least 2.25" resolves the back up sensor issues that may arise from putting a 35" spare tire on the back of your Jeep JL. I would lastly note that tire offset could potentially change the results of everything I just stated. My tire offset happened to be +12.
