Man what a cliffhanger, i wanna see his reaction when the game switches protagonists and the UI changes
He did that on stream, but I decided to leave that bit out. There wasn't really any good segment to 'clip', and if I were to put it in, they would have been around 2 minutes of just Joe complaining. We've already experienced sprinklergate and the gravel swimsuit, so I don't want to make something similar to what I did last time.
He took it Really REALLY badly.
It can be summed up as intense anger followed by trying to get the trial over and done with ASAP.
How much of that second part was from being upset with the twist or from trying to finding a good end point so he could help his very pregnant wife is debatable.

Why was there a long pause on Miu’s 30 interval part?
Hanate Monstas cause Miu is basically throwing herself under the bus, only she knew about the interval between camera shots, don’t even think she told Shuichi and Kaede about it. Essentially if anyone could exploit the interval, it’d be her.
For people that want to argue with me about the plot twist, please leave a reply to this comment. I am personally very neutral on this; some times I find it perfectly reasonable while other times I completely hate it.

Timmytimmy123123 There's alot of technically the game didn't lie to you in this chapter. "I put everything I was holding" "I dropped everything I was holding" but I think Joe's main problem is that it was about yourself. Unlike those monokuma moments "You never asked me".
Timmytimmy123123 I didn't watch the stream, in fact I entirely base my viewing of his streams off your videos so I don't know his reasoning, but I don't see the problem with this? I thought it was an interesting twist, though perhaps a bit disappointing you don't get to play as the girl long term. I also thought her motives were fine
My issue was the execution more than the twist itself. It could have been a great twist if set up better, but it ends up feeling like a cheap trick to catch the player off guard. They do place some hints here and there you notice on replay, but there's also some lines and moments that make zero sense from the killer's perspective and are only there to trick the player.
I don't hate it as much now as I did then, but it was still a frustrating case of missed potential.
@@Zeik56 My biggest problem is how badly he took it. Watching it all play out a second time I really felt like it was perfectly set up and foreshadowed, but Joe just screamed his head off for 30 minutes about how the game was ruined.
@@sjbuttonsb My biggest problem with it was when we're in the warehouse, if you haven't looked at the shotput balls, it wont let you leave until you do, so anyone that's the overly thinking type will wonder why. Then the murder weapon shows and what I think they were going for was "Oh we know where those are from so it must be someone who'd been there so let's look for that" but those thinker types will immediately go to "Oh, it's me". If someone like NicoB, who isn't a genius but isn't exactly a complete idiot, can figure this out upon seeing the corpse, it wasn't set up well.
Can't wait for Joe to get to trial 3 though, oh boy is that reaction gonna be fun.

@@viole1001 Here is the thing though, this video won't really be a highlight video. Of course, there will be some highlights in it, but I primarily want the video to show a transition from the old Joe to the new Joe. This is why watching 3-4 streams isn't that bad for me, since I can easily extrapolate what the content is going to be based on the data that is already available to me.
The one game were we play as a female pragmatist and it was wrap away clean. Like damn not even like after chapter 1 we can't have a female pragmatist that long. I can feel for him on this one really I got pisss off as well.
Stop sleeping on Komaru smh 😔😔 UDG had a female protagonist and the other main character was also a girl. Kaede was not the first one
@Khalid Batafari Anime Podcast hell I would have been fine if they didn't the whole buddy thing like in the second game. But no we need to kill of the character that was probably the best one for a game like this.

I almost quit the game on the spot after that plot twist, but it did eventually turn itself around for me. The later chapters were much better, imo.
Still probably my least favorite Danganronpa though.
While I intensely didn’t like some of the twists and experiments they did with the story and mechanics I do respect them for trying as many brand new and risky things as they did.
They very easily could have just done a Telltale or EA and made a safe and stale copy paste of the other games to good reception at least 50 more times before people got sick of it.
Plus in comparison to the other games this one generates some extra potent schadenfreude when watching others in my personal and probably wrong opinion.
I won't deny that they were brave in making such plot twists, but the problem is that as the player, I wasn't happy with them. I love plot twists but if they make me feel unsatisfied at the end then I can't say they were worth it. Because.. (spoilers of the game)
I don't like Shuichi as the main character. I really liked Kaede because she gave a new atmosphere to the game, being a girl and being more positive. But Shuichi just feels like Naegi, they're different but have the same vibe. And the ending, about everything being fiction, while it is very original and unexpected, it makes you feel like these characters were nothing special.
(Spoilers of DR2) My favourite game and ending was DR2, the ending is unexpected, but it makes the characters more interesting knowing what they were and what they did. And it makes the dead characters more dearly to you because you have the hope at the end that they could come back and not just disappear forever, which is what this game tries to say, that these games are horrible because teenagers die, except that DR2's ending is not like that at all
I personally really liked this plot twist when I first played it, but I feel like part of the reason was the fact that I wasn't paying enough attention. Here is basically what I thought during 3-1.
"Alright, he was killed with a shot-put ball? Maybe somebody threw it at him?"
"Ahh... Gonta was in the AV-room? He easily could have thrown that ball. This is gonna be an easy AF mystery"
"Oh yeah, the door. Hmm... Couldn't Miu have killed her with the drone?"
"Well... I have no idea who did it"
"Who did it? Shuichi? Gonta? Miu? Did he commit suicide? I have no idea who killed him... Google time!"
"Wait... WHAT THE FUCK?! That's so cool!"
@@Zeik56 Well... the cases in DRV3 were pretty mediocre (nothing comes as close as 1-3, though), but it is quite good in almost every other aspect. The design of the UI is so much more amazing, the music is much better, the minigames are actually good (except for the taxi one, mainly because I preferred logic dive).
