Hi Greg. Thanks for the great video! I'm just starting out and I have been honestly confused by the multiple pricing options. One thing I wonder if you could clarify. You said at 4:05 that you open your clients a free Webflow account and then transfer the site to them. I though the free accounts only accepted sites with a maximum of 2 pages -- what if the site is bigger? I'm curious and still haven't got my first client to test it out.
Thanks for this clear explanation. Talk about CX or Customer journey - Webflow could use some of your clarity on communicating on how to engage with its customers. Utterly ridiculous and confusing as a first time user trying to set up and account after I'd viewed the non account pricing plans and then logging in for the first time. THANKS!
Here's the deal. A Webflow account is a subscription service costing either 16 or 35 bucks per month when paid annually. This only allows you to use the tool and post a site on a Webflow "staging server" or export the code, but any CMS or form functionality you've built "won't work," and you can't use your own domain, i.e. they've gone out of their way to break that as strong incentive to buy their hosting service. If you want that functionality, you have to pay them to host the site for an ADDITIONAL 16 or 36 bucks per month, again if paid annually.
I'm still confused. If I own a domain name and have the old site hosted on another server, AND I create a NEW site with Webflow, can I export all the code to the old server that I already pay to have the site hosted there? Would this be with the Lite Plan or would I have to use the Pro Plan? Also, can I still edit my site with Webflow after that?
1) Yes, you can export it, but if you've used Webflow's CMS or Search or form tools the won't work, no matter what account you have. 2) No, you're on your own.
@@BraddGraves can I ask an additional question on this topic? I understand that with Webflow the client can edit their content on the front end. Can this be done on any host? or is this part of their CMS and hosting only?

Hi! We need an update on this with the workspace plans, it is pretty confusing.
Didn't really go through what the different site plans do and which one suits what type of user. Perhaps the hosting site plans are different now to what they were when you created the video.
Hi Ran, they say "Add a site plan to any project when it's ready to go live" but I can't design more than 2 pages and limited cms if I don't upgrade from free staying (site plan) - "This site is currently on free staging, which comes with 500 views, 50 CMS items, and 2 static pages. This site also has limited CMS management and form customization functionality". So, I'm a bit confused because that means that I need to pay for the hosting as well while designing/building my client's website.
Hi, great tutorial Quick question mate, If you have the basic plan with the 2 free workspaces, once you set up a site plan and the site goes live can you delete that site from your workspace to free up another space. (hope that makes sense) Pete
made some sense but you lost me when you started talking about how you send your site to your client and they pay for the hosting yet you pay for the account.
You pay for a Lite or Pro account, which lets you build 10 or unlimited websites, stored on your account. When you have these plans, you have the ability to transfer a website to another user’s Webflow account. So in this example, he sets up a free Webflow account for his client, and moved their website to that. Then, the client pays for and manages their hosting themselves. On the free account plan, you can not migrate a website, so you have to at least pay for the Lite account. Which, unless you have more than 10 projects in development, or being hosed (your own websites), then you’ll have more than enough space to make client websites and transfer them to free accounts. To migrate the site ownership, the client account will need to be upgraded to a Lite account.
You wouldn’t pay so much to use the platform and export the code as most of the elements won’t work but then webflows hosting is also expensive. I’m in Australia and it works out to be around $700 a year to just use the platform.
Have multiple website posted in one Hosting account on GoDaddy with custom Domain URLS going to each. How do you do that with WebFlow. I understand there is some method to do that.
How do you manage a client that wants a cms built in webflow but wants to use another hosting service? I read you can't export CMS items and pages when exporting website code to host on anothher provider...
Would someone kindly give me some advice. I am about to put my first ever webflow site onto a site plan, what I would like to know is, can I delete the original design from my workspace or does it have to stay there for the entire life of the live site. If I do delete it, how would I edit it if needed. Appreciate any advice Pete

Quick question. Let's say I build a website for a client on my paid account plan. If I don't misunderstand I also need to pay for the site plan as the website has a custom domain and more than 2 pages. At the end of the work I transfer the website to my client's account. Is the site plan going to automatically move with the website to my client or what?
Hi Ran, do you export your code and host your own personal websites on another host or do you host them on Webflow? It would seem much cheaper to host elsewhere. Also, thank you for your incredible content and sharing your knowledge.
I want to use webflow for my portfolio, therefore I will only keep it active while I look for a job. Once I have one I wouldn't keep it active anymore and would stop paying for it. When I do this what happens to the site? Where does the domain go that i've attached to it? Can I still edit the site offline? If in the future I am on the job hunt again can I reactivate it and turn it back on? Will all the pages that I made originally still be there or will they have been deleted? Thanks
WebFlow is not for someone who will not spend lot on hosting. Everyone dances around the pricing and that means you have to pay a lot to host regardless of free the build option.
@@Animefreak242 can you use your current hosting provider and just use webflow for ui & build - and then connect the two? Or does webflow insist you use their hosting services?
But on the free plan, Webflow allows you only to have 2 pages per website. So what if I design a website with more than 2 pages and then transfer it to a client with a free account. Would that be possible?
What happens if the website you build on a PRO account you transfer to a FREE account and you have built a website with more than 2 pages? Do they lose access to any pages more than 2? Because you get Max. 2 pages on the free websites.
Thanks, Ran, for responding to my email, with this video, I really appreciate it. I think this has really cleared a lot of mess in mind concerning Webflow pricing. From your explanation, it means that I can ask a client to sign up on the free account, design the clients website on that free account and ask the client to buy a hosting plan with Webflow. Am I right?
OK I have a webflow made website, can i host it on godaddy? and what are these pricings? If i take pro plan, can i host multiple clients websites at 35$ a month?
I have a question. If a site is designed on free account (which has limitations) - when a Site Plan (hosting) is added, do the free account design limitations still apply?

He has asked me to create a webflow account and give him the logins which I don't have a problem with. Appreciate the video but not everyone is using webflow for freelance/client work. Im looking to use it for my portfolio site which would have multiple pages. Could you give more information around this scenario?
Hi Ran, thanks so much for explaining this, I found the pricing plan so confusing! Just a quick question, once you export your site and upload it onto a clients domain “not within webflow” how would you go about making edits and updates to the site? If I don't misunderstand I also need to pay for the site plan as the website has a custom domain and more than 2 pages. At the end of the work I transfer the website to my client's account. Is the site plan going to automatically move with the website to my client or what?
Hi Ran, do you export your code and host your own personal websites on another host or do you host them on Webflow? It would seem much cheaper to host elsewhere. Also, thank you for your incredible content and sharing your knowledge.
Hi I would like to know if webflow websites bear the same quality as coded ones
Which plan is best for a portfolio?
what about a designer who just wants a single website for their portfolio?
it would be nice if webflow themselves explaining their own prices.
Thanks
Makes sense to me.
If I want design 1 website and already have a domain that I'm paying, which site plan should I get?
Still confused.. An actual demo video would be helpful instead of speaking to the camera
lol agreed
WebFlow is not for someone who will not spend lot on hosting. Everyone dances around the pricing and that means you have to pay a lot to host regardless of free the build option.
@@Animefreak242 can you use your current hosting provider and just use webflow for ui & build - and then connect the two? Or does webflow insist you use their hosting services?
what if my client has a domain, do they still need webflow hosting?
But on the free plan, Webflow allows you only to have 2 pages per website. So what if I design a website with more than 2 pages and then transfer it to a client with a free account. Would that be possible?
How about building a simple student design portfolio, can I use free version?
I have my own domain.
Am I right?
Only for a small static site.
After 2 years of using it, do you make any money?? Let me know please 🙏
What if you are a graphic designer and you need a site for yourself, wha would you suggest?
Hey, Thanks! I noticed that you cant open new pages in the free version, and if i delete a page i can't add it again, do i miss something?
OK I have a webflow made website, can i host it on godaddy? and what are these pricings? If i take pro plan, can i host multiple clients websites at 35$ a month?
I have a question. If a site is designed on free account (which has limitations) - when a Site Plan (hosting) is added, do the free account design limitations still apply?
great video,
I am getting my website designed by a freelancer who doesn't have a paid webflow account. He has asked me to create a webflow account and give him the logins which I don't have a problem with.
My to be website is 7-10 pages, so which of the plans do I need to sign up for?
and do I only sign up for a site plan once I'm about to publish?
Appreciate the video but not everyone is using webflow for freelance/client work. Im looking to use it for my portfolio site which would have multiple pages. Could you give more information around this scenario?
Hi Ran, thanks so much for explaining this, I found the pricing plan so confusing! Just a quick question, once you export your site and upload it onto a clients domain “not within webflow” how would you go about making edits and updates to the site? Would you need to do that in webflow and upload the site to the domain each time? Thanks!
Did you find an answer anywhere?
can you build and publish your own website for free if you already have domain or you have to pay for one of the plans?
Hey Flux, how can you make a website for your clients and transfer it to a free webflow account, when the free account is limited to 2 pages?
your client should have a paid website account ready to receive the website - they need the paid account to host the website with their domain too
@@FluxAcademy When you say paid account, does that mean the client should have a paid account plan ready, or a paid site plan ready?
Just in the right time... It's like you listened.....
We can also just ask them to give is access to there paid account, so that we build their website without needing to transfer it or buy a plan !!
I love the quality of Webflow but this pricing stuff is just way too hard to understand. I have been wanting to step over to Webflow for months now but I just can't get shit done
why? need help learning webflow? I have a course for that. 😅
Does lite or pro offer more templates than on free? It said 100+ templates on account plans but most good ones aren't free that I saw under the free plan.
What do you do when your clients want changes?
hi there! i think you have explained well. but one question; i want to create a website just for my own business, I'm not into web development. which plan would be suitable for me?
Can we have an updated video?
Can you show some. Whitelabel client payment on webflow
it is confusing even if though they layout nice and clean to make it look non-confusing. I accidentally purchase the wrong one.
Hey guys, I'm new to webflow. I from what I can see you can only build two pages of a site for free and not the whole thing. Am I missing something
Yeah, Webflow pricing is crazy confusing. "A confused mind usually says no."
Can I edit the website that was transfered to me by another account, using the free account plan while paying de CMS plan?
