I don't agree about the sea dogs sets. Most of the time I see them I get a straightforward honest fight. They don't hide anything. I'm weird-I used full faction ship sets when I run as an emissary. Otherwise- I just decorate the ship based on my current mood. Usually a black hull with some sort of sail that makes me happy inside.
Falcore: People who use the Wild Rose ship set are really nice! Me, who returned a ship my friends stole at the end of our session after they logged off: Yup, that's me and it's true. I almost always use wild rose when I play alone, with the added bonus of the viva pinata figurehead because it's one of the first games I ever played and I loved it a lot.
I am a Killer Whale holder currently in the process of finishing the set. Most of the time, I hover around Cursewater Shores (because it’s volcano safe) casting lines
I feel like I’m one of the few people who rock the reaper set mixed with the ashen dragon that constantly hunts down other people and have a great time
When I'm doing pvp, I usually run the Duke set. I just think it's hilarious when I hear a crew hot-mic and talking about how we're going to be an easy win, only to get crushed by us a minute later. The confidence goes from all-time high to absolutely nothing in the blink of an eye, and i love it
I run Wild Rose when playing with my boyfriend, and you nailed us. I run Dark Adventurer sails with whatever ship set I'm in the mood for when solo. Which ... I appreciate the kind words there as well.
i have the entire ashen dragon set. no, not just the ship. EVERYTHING my crew has also been playing for quite a while now but were only good at yelling orders at each other and steering into rocks
swap the figurehead and sails for the Black Phoenix, swap the cannons, wheel and capstan for the Forsaken Ashes. Much better look overall, doesn't scream noob.
As a wild rose user, i am suprised i live up to your stereotype, Although i do mix it with my megeladon figurehead, the one you got when you summoned the shark with like 20 random people, that figurehead was painfully hard to aquire, ima show it off
I like using the Wild Rose set because it's the only full set I have so far, and I worked my ass off to get it Also, yeah I don't like to engage in combat
I like the Wild Rose set cuz my favorite color is red and it’s just clean. I don’t know about the stereotype though. I’m trying to get better at combat. Lol
I usually find that the least experienced, worst at pvp and most likely to run-ships are newer Gold Hoarders. Usually running either some variation of Sovereign or the Gold Hoarder set itself if they’ve come far enough and always the Gold Hoarders Emmisary flag. Literally spotted a duo of these guys doing a Sea Fort I wanted to include in my route, so I chased them. 8 map squares. Until they ran into a keg in the water, after which I ran up alongside them and fired all 10 of my cannonballs into their ship. I ran back to grab more, and when I looked back up to start firing again, they had already sunk.
Thanks man! I'm a wild rose cosmetic player and I do try to be nice, so it's good to see I fit the stereotype I guess? I rock the full matching wild rose outfit, too, though customized a little bit for my liking (because let's be honest, that jacket is awful.)
2:24 I have had lots of encounters with a full DA ship set and its always server hopping sweats that are practically unstoppable looking for ships with stacked loot. That might just be my bad luck though
Honestly, I only use the Ashen Dragon ship set because I love the Flameheart lore. When I’m not using it, I use the Frozen Horizon set because it’s pretty and I got it to celebrate my first paycheque.
the default ship set is so true. I kid you not all within 10 minutes of each other my 4 man crew destroyed a 2 man sloop of noobs that were really nice about being killed, and then right after we were boarded and mercilessly slaughtered by pirate legends rocking the default.
I use the ashen dragon stuff myself and I do agree that’s most of them but the good ones are either going to make your ship the brightest glowstick on the sea, keg you with the 50+ kegs in the crows nest because you can never have enough KABOOM or both normally it’s both
i dont even run a specific ship set anymore I just recreate the jackdaw from AC4 and running around boarding ships and taking their loot, then sinking them afterwards, of course with the joller roger flying high as well
thank you for the disclaimer about not every steryotype applies. my crew and i were pirate emporium / reaper skin users. we were that super aggro brig that pretty much won every encounter except for galleons.... we did... a lot of running from galleons...
I own a couple of the newer Pirate Emporium ship sets that I bought because they looked cool. I also generally just do tall tales and voyages only fighting when needed
Number whatever: The Royal Navy. These ships are fitted with pieces from various sets to make the ship look proper royal and tidy. The crew also wears blue- or red coats. I.e. Me and my crew.
One of my fav ship sets is the plunder pass pirate legend Hull with the ferry of the dammed figure head capstan of candles wicked web cannons with the ferry of the damned sails very nice combo
I remember before all the updates and gamepass stuff, my friends and I were hunted down by a ship that had the strangest insignia on the sails, it looked like a light blue Toothless or Stitch head with a darker blue surrounding. Unfortunately those people were hackers, using a hack to wave away the disadvantage of wind direction and traveling at speeds faster than a Sloop should go
3:38, yes i confirm, Just a few days ago i was stacking 2 fleets of fortunes and 2 fotd (we managed tò sell everything) and then we saw a gally attacking this wild rose set sloop, so we STRIKED down the Galleon and helped the other sloop, i negotatied with them saying i would have allied them if they only kept distance from the fotd and reapers hideout and only come for emergencies and raise the PVP flag if they were in danger, i did this deal cause in my experience i learned to not trust anyone (and they got they're 50% of all the loot we sold :D)
I was always a Wild Rose Ship (outfit and bird costume as well :) ) but I've been trying to diversify recently. I don't remember the name off the top of my head, but I've been using this yellow hull and then a lot of the sovereign things (dark/black wood and gold details) and then the sails and flag is the blue and white (and yellow on the sails) with the silhouette of the ship. Thought it looked pretty cool. I've been using some mixed outfit things for it, but the black and yellow admiral stuff fits well I think.
Ghost Captain Sails may give off a "PvE lover" vibe. But don't underestimate them, they had to fire thousands of cannon shots to achieve them, so will be pretty damn cracked at long range shots.
Honestly very sick of people bagging the ashen curse and ship, at least you have to earn it and get the tomes, and why would you get a harder ship set that looks worse when you can just have an ashen dragon ship?
If I'm slooping solo I keep the generic boat but I do use the black sails. Just something different. I don't see a lot of people doing it. I wish you could change the color of the canvases in the Stern of the boat to match. That would be awesome
My party, you won't see our ship. Because we have horrible luck and probably ran into three skeleton ships and just got sunk. But you may see a dinghy packed with four idiots shortly before seeing your own ship sail away
I dont use thw entire dark adventurer set, just the sails, because the cut along the middle means thag even on a galley I don't have to rely on anyone else to see to whats on the prow. The rest of the time I'm using the inky kraken set because when lights are out its harder to spot at night
I also buy the emporium sets for the pretty colors - but I'm not fooled into thinking I'm good at the game coz it glows. On the contrary, I need to pick those fights for target and general combat experience/practice. I am fully aware that I suck and wish to get better to defend myself when i get back to my commerce routes XD

EVERYTHING
my crew has also been playing for quite a while now but were only good at yelling orders at each other and steering into rocks
galleons are always this no matter how experienced
Man as a huge lover of the element *fire* it just makes me sad that the ashen dragon set pretty much means noob over the seas
it really does, but worry not, you can wear whatever you like and prove you're not a noob when attacked - they will be surprised as hell :)
I do enjoy the fact that it's quite accurate in most cases 😂
swap the figurehead and sails for the Black Phoenix, swap the cannons, wheel and capstan for the Forsaken Ashes. Much better look overall, doesn't scream noob.
eh I prefer ashen dragon cannons, personally I rock ashen dragon hull, scorched forsaken ashes(or black phoenix) figurehead, ashen winds sails, scorched forsaken ashes capstan, and scorched forsaken ashes wheel
Ah yes.. Fire. Number 6 on the periodic table....
God I hate people sometimes
As a wild rose user, i am suprised i live up to your stereotype,
Although i do mix it with my megeladon figurehead, the one you got when you summoned the shark with like 20 random people, that figurehead was painfully hard to aquire, ima show it off
I like using the Wild Rose set because it's the only full set I have so far, and I worked my ass off to get it
Also, yeah I don't like to engage in combat
I like the Wild Rose set cuz my favorite color is red and it’s just clean. I don’t know about the stereotype though. I’m trying to get better at combat. Lol
Shark Hunter Shipset: Still looking for the shrouded ghost
Sailor ship set is the only ship set I run, ol'reliable.
Alright alright, what about the sailor pegleg and hook? 🤨
I've learned to be wary of the default ship skins sailing about, usually we end up going to battle stations when we see one over the horizon.
trap in the making on the horizon man the cannons!
I've been using the Banjo Kazooie set since it released lol.
The wheel and canons were Twitch drops. Both are really beautiful. I combine them with the Morningstar Figurehead and Flying Horse Hull.
5:45 the third option is the “please don’t attack, us we are beginners” who proceed to blow three holes into your hull as soon as you turn to leave.
First
Wrong
False
Incorrect
You may be first, you may be last, but most of all, no one asked!
the default ship set is so true. I kid you not all within 10 minutes of each other my 4 man crew destroyed a 2 man sloop of noobs that were really nice about being killed, and then right after we were boarded and mercilessly slaughtered by pirate legends rocking the default.
I use the ashen dragon stuff myself and I do agree that’s most of them but the good ones are either going to make your ship the brightest glowstick on the sea, keg you with the 50+ kegs in the crows nest because you can never have enough KABOOM or both normally it’s both
i dont even run a specific ship set anymore
I just recreate the jackdaw from AC4 and running around boarding ships and taking their loot, then sinking them afterwards, of course with the joller roger flying high as well
Need a updated one with the ternal freedom one. I like wearing it because it makes me feel like i'm on the black pearl
Esp once you 100% the Pirates Life tall tales and get the Pirates Life Shanty
thank you for the disclaimer about not every steryotype applies. my crew and i were pirate emporium / reaper skin users. we were that super aggro brig that pretty much won every encounter except for galleons.... we did... a lot of running from galleons...
Mine will forever be classic bone crusher set, I was introduced to this game during Cursed sails and still is my favorite update.
Insider ship set is always a solo slooper that will run away or rock your shit. There is no in between.
I’ve been playing for a while, and I got a lot of cosmetics, but I really like just using black sails and the huntress figurehead
so glad they added the Stormfish Chaser set so the Hunters Call ship set finally has a much cooler figurehead
I appreciate your words about the Wild Rose set. Used to rock that before the lodestar collection came out.
I tend to use the kraken ship sets because my friend and I named our sloop “The Speedy Squid” so I thought it would be on theme.
How do you change the sail of the ship?
I own a couple of the newer Pirate Emporium ship sets that I bought because they looked cool. I also generally just do tall tales and voyages only fighting when needed
I use the ashen dragon set because I’m a little obsessed with dragons and I like the colours lol
Number whatever: The Royal Navy.
These ships are fitted with pieces from various sets to make the ship look proper royal and tidy. The crew also wears blue- or red coats.
I.e. Me and my crew.
I see you're also a man of culture.
One of my fav ship sets is the plunder pass pirate legend Hull with the ferry of the dammed figure head capstan of candles wicked web cannons with the ferry of the damned sails very nice combo
And here I just choose whichever ship set strikes my fancy when I log in.
I remember before all the updates and gamepass stuff, my friends and I were hunted down by a ship that had the strangest insignia on the sails, it looked like a light blue Toothless or Stitch head with a darker blue surrounding. Unfortunately those people were hackers, using a hack to wave away the disadvantage of wind direction and traveling at speeds faster than a Sloop should go
as a wild rose user. i can confidently say i spend 90% of my battles just yelling "DUDE THAT SHOT WAS SICK" and the other 10% playing music
"The duke shipset"
Had an encounter with one of them last week. It didn't take much indeed to take it down 😂
the rose ship sounds like that one kid under five playing gta 5 or call of duty just sitting here happy to play
I always build my ship set around the gold hoarders, because I love the cursed gold aesthetic.
So to put into perspective what I learned as a new player is to fight to the death immediately at everyone I see
ngl, I used to run full seadog set with me & my arena troll friend. I can confirm that trolling ppl in arena all day improves your combat
Kraken set: You're extremely unlucky, but you somehow manage to see the upside in constantly getting attacked by it.
why is the first one so accurate
Party boat set with magpie cannons and whichever sail I feel at the time is my go to
(Me casually watching taking a drag of a cig. )
(Falcor blows up boat because of cosmetics )
(Me; Dying from Coughing )
Function over Fashion is my style for my ship. Catch me with the goofy banana hat on but never with some wonky looking cannons.
What about the Company Ship sets and their Emissary cousins? (Gold Hoarders, Merchant Alliance, Order of Souls)
You were half right about ashen ships, I ram rocks... A LOT... however I had a 21 streak in hourglass so I might know a thing or two about pvp
WE NEED THE PEPE SAILS RIGHT NOW!
so accurate. I was using the wild rose set, then gave a tier 5 emissary flag to a reaper that was new cause i was logging off.
As someone who was a part of a Duke ship set, it very well is exactly like that
4:40 I was that a few days ago, me and my friend keeped nose diving into a 2 brig ally trying to sinker hem with kegs! It was pretty fun tbh
