I got this curse specifically to go with the barnacle hoarder and Hunter's Call sets. Solo, I'm strictly a fisherman hunting shipwrecks and non-competitive, likely in Devil's Roar. If I'm with my friends who are mainly pvp-loving peeps, I'm the cannoneer/gunner, and working on Legend of Cursed Iron when we're not in pvp combat (yes, I'm working on 3 of the hardest grinds -- their sets go well together). I wish there was a Hunter's Call curse -- one that adds actual gills and barnacles to the player and creates an overall "fishy" look (something that makes sense, and isn't a "Fortnite" skin, and maybe has a glowing variant). That doesn't exist, so mermaid curse it is. If something like this did exist, knowing Rare, they'd likely call it "Merrick's Curse" or something similar.
I used to use the jack o’ looter costume before I started interacting with the SoT community. Knowing how often I was probably getting shit on for it without even knowing why makes me kinda regret it
The real revelation for me was that more people don't like the Ocean Crawlers. I like the variety they bring to emergent enemy spawns, especially given the differing considerations that come with fighting them, and they're a thematic necessity for Shrines and Treasuries to even have ground combat. Coral skeletons exist, yes, but you tell me people wouldn't be calling the Sunken Kingdom locations skeleton fort reskins if they appeared more than two waves in a row.
They have too much health, most of the eel's attacks don't give you the white light, the clam has shitty i-frames and I swear is missing half of his hitbox, and they literally never stop spawning.
An ashen curse player helped me and my buddies get out of port when our pilot got us stuck in the dock. This was the only ashen curse player we met. He jumped off the ship after we made it to sea. Very friendly.
i haven’t played sea of thieves in well over a year, but i used to play this game in middle school with my friends and it’s my favorite memories of gaming ever. Never gonna use this knowledge since all my friends have uninstalled or their computers cant run it (none of us are legend, lol) but i love this game, thanks for making stuff on it

Honestly love these kinds of videos. The ashen curse despite the stereotypes surrounding it, i wear on and off because its the most visually appealing pre-skelly/ghost curse. Once i get the two newer curses ill probably wear them on and off too. But gotta say i love the flameheart sword, even without its relation to flameheart i just love the design on it. The same goes for the sword of souls, it has a unique design when compared to the other swords of the game.

I’ve got damn near 9 1/2 thousand hours on this game with every curse you can get….I refuse to use anything other than the ashen curse I just like the way it looks it also helps that most people think I’m ass and play stupid
The art direction is so real seeing someone with some crazy glowing things is genuinely the least terrifying thing but some dude with some 15k outfit will sink your ship in about 2.8 seconds
They have: Plain bones - cqc chads mid on cannons over aggressive boarders who still enjoy the sword. Crimson Bones - reaper runners who used exploits to get it Verdant Bones - absolutely terrifying to face and usually extremely toxic Helmsman - genuinely great human being, sweaty but cool about it. Sunken bones + bucket - skilled but lacks originality and complains about the sword alot Golden Skelly no clothes - you will die a quick and brutal death, they and their crew are all turbo sweats. Golden skelly + clothes - also extremely skilled but they have a less skilled crew and are super chill people. Just what I have witnessed, would love for him to make a video on it though. Yes I know i left out a few, couldn’t really think of anything though, and the obsidian skeleton is too new to really have a stereotype.

Ashen curses are the only ones I can never cauge. Ghost curses are always toxic and double gunning (haven't met a "friendly" one yet). And gold curses I always fasten my seat belt for, they usually make for the better fights.
