One of the first things i thought of when the burning blade was released was how it would do against the flying Ducthman. From what I remember, they look to be the same size. As well the Dutch man has ten cannons on each side if I remember from the tall tale, and of course, the burning blade has some direct inspiration from the Dutchman
One thing they could do is type of a coin toss. You can either have the burning blade spawn in and take it over normal, and then once you reach like 12 or something crazy in ritual stacks, the Flagship of the pirate lord spawns and you have to sink it. Or have the Athena Flagship spawn in like the burning blade, but instead of sinking it, you have to go aboard it and help defend the pirate ghost from flamehearts skeletons then you can captain it.
@lollol-ow8rb I was wondering if that's what the dry dock could be for on port Merrick, or if people had sided with the good guys and Pendragon had been returned that might have been where the Blackwyche would have been rebuilt.
@@bobmcbob49 not really when there are so many skelly u have to be close to hit the scatter shots so u will get hit by skelly cannons and the skelly that are on bottom will fix the holes in no time so the scatter is still not the answer
Mega kegs are weirdly inconsistent. I've detonated one next to the wood barrel on a sloop just for 1 guy to save it, granted without me trying to kill him since we were just dicking around in an alliance. Another time we put 2 mega kegs into a galley in close succession, knowing we killed most of the crew just in the first blast, and they still recovered while we were actively fighting them.
The elevator music was *chef kiss*. I was wondering if 3 or 4 kegs would be more effective spread apart vs. clustered together, like would it take longer for the skelly crew to patch more, smaller holes vs. fewer, larger holes. (Also would the initial explosion spread take out more of the skelly crew, reducing the number of skellies repairing.) It would make for some more interesting experiments.
It takes 4 kegs placed in the water around 1 side. If done right it will flip over, become sunk, ping cartoonishly into air before returning the right way up in the water and actually sinking.
for people too lazy to seek that video out: - scattershots deal 4 tier 1 holes, that cannot increase with more scattershots - chainshots deal 1 tier 1 - cannonballs deal 1 tier 3, repeated fire increases by 1 tier, up to t5
I guessed 6 kegs. At 4 I was worried I might be off by 1 and it'd be 5. Turns out, 4 kegs just happened to kill an unlucky amount of skeletons or something, lol.
When I saw him throwing that last blunder bomb, I hoped there would be kegs all over the ship, resulting in a massive explosion, but, to my disappointment, there was only one keg :(
My friend and I have two manned the Burning Blade twice now. The first time was release day, and that sucked because we got swarmed very quickly . Second time was on Tuesday, which went much better. There was a galleon chasing us relentlessly, but we found that the people who were on it were absolute trash at the game. So my buddy hopped on, anchored their ship, and I hit them with the Ashen Roar and then sent them to the next server. We are actively trying to get more people on for a full ship, but our friends are never on. It’s whatever, the Burning Blade is a fun addition to the game, and I hope we see something similar on the good side in the future.
Imagine, just imagine season 14 brings the Black Gauntlet as a world event and they spawn together with the Burning Blade. And you can choose a side to fight against the other side. That would be epic.
dropped 2 normal kegs and 2 stronghold on it in quick succession with a friend and while manned by other players, it survived. i feel like kegs need to be placed correctly to do damage, a couple of days ago we wanted to blow up the blade with an athena keg, it blew up inside our brigantine, we managed to save it by the skin of our teeth. top be precise it did: 3 100% holes 1 60 % hole full damaged wheel mast and anchor. (it expoded in front of the wood barrel just in front of the stairs)
I can only imagine how tedious it was going down to restock the skeletons every time. Thank Ramsey we have you to do all the hard work for us so we don't have to bother tearing our hair out.
I mean if you think about it, if you go by keg logic. Technically the Black Pearl would win a fight agents the Burning Blade because it’s immune to kegs
see burning blade would definately beat the black pearl in an hourglass fight type fight as the blade would be the same as the queen annes revenge in terms of abilites and ship type, and the pearl is shown to have lost to queen annes, however if they could flee and do whatever and were at their peak, the pearl would defnately come out on top especially with barbossa's ghost/skelly crew
The Black Pearl has 32 cannons compared to the Burning Blades 10 assuming all or most were in use the Pearl has firepower advantage as long as she stays out of the ashen roars path. As you said the speed is also unmatched, assuming there is a competent crew aboard such as Barbossa’s cursed crew I don’t see the Burning Blade coming out on top
@@ScorpionX000 let's be honest though, the burning blade doesn't really have 10 cannons, it only would completely for gameplay purposes, based on size and shape it would probably have more like 50 irl
You can’t compare a cursed magic ship with 40 cannons to the burning blade with only 10. Also I doubt the Burning blade could carry 50 cannons. Maybe 30 max if we are being very generous. Fire is also a lot more effective in pirates of the Caribbean than in sot.
@@godsicle2021 fair enough I’ll grant you that, but I’d like to believe that with the wits of either Captain Jack or Barbossa as well as that legendary speed The Pearl would still have the advantage. I think I've said this before, but I truly believe The Burning Blade (and to a lesser extent, the fully AI man o' wars we've seen in the crossover tall tales) is a semi-secret test to see if these larger ships can function properly on the servers. And if all goes well, we'll finally get proper, player man o' wars in the game.
New to the game and my crew ended up on the burning blade…..the ship is strong enough that a brand new players terrorized the server, we won like 3 ship battles.
Spacing the kegs might be better than just putting all of them close to each other. I bet 5 or 6 kegs would do the job if you put 3 of them in the lower deck and 2/3 in the middle deck. You can kill more skeletons and you probably open more holes. Considering the explosion of normal kegs has a 9 steps radius you could chain them beautifully
I was definitely not gambling on my life by shooting my blunderbuss at the athena keg i had in the blades crowsnest. it eventually exploded doing only minimal damage to the hull and knocking down only two masts.

Black Pearl can fight the burning blade, now it’s a good fight and sure the burning blade may have the upper hand however the crew of the black pearl is a game changer, Jack Sparrow and Gibbs with jacks crew, they easily outsmart the burning blade even if they have to run
The crew is definitely a game changer because the pearl has 32 guns compared to the 10 of the burning blade, and the pearl has enough men to man all of them guns. Unlike the 8-10 skellies on the burning blade.
Im absolutely dog water at this game and I can count on one hand the amount of naval combats Ive won in my 200 hours of SOT, but one of those combats was against 2 sloops and a brig in the Burning Blade So I'd say its pretty powerful

It has 46 cannons total. 6 in the front, 20 on the sides. It would absolutely smash the burning blade to pieces. The black pearl has 32 guns and would also win against the burning blade.
