These game store buying videos are like candy....We're living vicariously through you Rick!. Also Brutal for the SNES had a massive marketing campaign. I remember wanting that game so bad.
Next video gonna be on his other channel talking bout "Poor Me--Its tough owning a Retro Video Game Store--PART 2". Lmao. Like bruh...no kidding....you stay buying stuff for ur collection under the guise of "inventory". No wonder its tough. 🤣🤣
@@mikerodriguez2103 yeah its hard for him to be a collector AND a store owner. But if he wants the shop to succeed, he has to stop his collector behavior. Wishing him the best luck!
@@furyon9816 he’d be buying everything double, one for the store and one for the collection. In a while the game store is his collection where you can buy his surplus 😂
Great video, I bet the store is shaping up nicely I would love to visit ! And Tommy is right we’d never get mad at him, he is the favourite co-host of any Retro Rick video 😅✌️
still better other people find it cheap, not say oh shit he just bought what i wanted then resell it for a higher price.. no wonder that retro prices are so high
i lost many retro games and consoles before, at this time i would not buy another n64 for more then 100.. because seriously i would maybe try diddy kong racing but probably not for hours.
New to the channel and love the channel I have been going back watching videos even from a year ago. Been getting into collecting myself this year with comics, funkos and hot toys and watching your videos makes me want to go through my vhs tapes to make a collection with those now
That must feel so cool to buy things for the store that may have been hard to justify before. Now it's a potential resale, but until then they're all YOURS! What a feelin' that must be.
You know what is very rare to find in the wild at these shows? 3DO.. , but probably because the CIBs sell between 40 and 500 dollars now. Lucienne's Quest CIB goes for about 1,200 and Dini Park about 2.5 -5k .
@Marc Caselle yeah, it is definitely a good RPG. The game on other platforms isn't as good or worth anything as it seems the English version came only to the 3DO at the end of 3DO's life as a company and console. It is the better version of them all and is fairely rare to find CIB. It's definitely worthy of emulation on the PC or for anyone with an ODE. :)
@Marc Caselle you can get one for about 150 -250.... prices are rising partly due to general market manipulation on retro gaming but also because the capacitors are all essentially expired .. Easy fix but the system is going to be increasingly more rare over the next 10 years .. If you do look for one, the best one to get would be the the JP FZ1 that has the 240p switch. You can probably find one on Yahoo auctions for a decent price loose, and possibly one you can easily repair with a complete recap.
Dang Retro buying everything at the event. Spending that money. So much amazing items there. All those boxed consoles takes me back. A great time to be a kid. Episode is always 🔥🔥
When you were talking to the owner of a booth about RPG Maker, I saw you picking up and putting down a copy of Namco Museum Vol. 2 and I cannot believe you passed on it. For a collector, it is a good find. At one point in my life, I had all 5 Namco Museums and the cover page of each manual had 1 letter of the name Namco. (eg. vol. 1 had N, vol. 2 had A, etc) There was a Japanese exclusive, which I imported, titled "Namco Museum Encore. Additionally, later on, Namco re-released vols. 1 & 3 under the Greatest Hits label.
8:38 The U-Force was a weird-ass and usually impractical peripheral, BUT every single one I've tried to this day is still super-responsive and works near perfectly when the switches are set right. Try it with Punch Out!
That edition of the Sega Master System II with the Sonic Pack-in is the same as my childhood one and still part of my collection and it's close to being as pristine as that one. Though the sonic cartridge didn't came in a game box but in some brown cardboard holder on which i made my own cover art as a child.
The very end of the convention is the best time to buy things. Lots of venders don't want to bring stock back home with them so will get rid of everything really cheap. I once bought a huge lot of boxed games for really cheap at a convention when a vender auctioned off all his remaining stock. Only me and another guy bid and the guy I was bidding against stopped bidding pretty early on.
It’s CRAZY to have started watching Rick scavenging through goodwills for cheap games to collect/flip to now watching him spend hundreds on inventory for his fricking GAME STORE 😂
I wasn't too excited about this show and the personalities therein but I'd given it a fair chance and I got to say I'm hooked, I really enjoyed the tours of stores and I'm with you on getting a complete loose NES collection, me too; except I'm willing to accept some of them on Repro carts as well oh, you know your hammering Harry, your Panic restaurant and little Samson- Mr Gimmick...the over 300.00 class. Rick? Apparently you toward the southeast? You should consider seeing me I'll give you a great deal on a Sega CDX in great condition, turbo graph x and plenty of other stuff too help me help you help me LOL it's tax time and prices are at their lowest I'd ever consider taking
I like seeing some of the old guys that I recognize from Game Chasers. I might have to try wii fit sometime and that master system was looking nice on the top shelf!
I bought A NES when i got to my first Duty Station, Stuck on BASE because a hurricane back, in 96. I have no idea what I did with it, but Sim City was my go-to kill time in-between waiting on the orders to ship to my command already deployed.
The guy that he bought some of the X-men figures from works at Retro City Games in Vegas. Definitely check the place out if you’re visiting or live here. They’ve always got good stuff and take care of the customers
11:59 Legend Of Dragoon is a good game but random encounters will KILL you for time. 5-seconds to dissolve the screen. 5 seconds to highlight the enemies, 5-more for the field, then you play. Then 5-seconds for victory. 5 seconds to show what you earned. 5 seconds to dissolve the screen back again. LOD was notorious for random encounters. You could take 2-steps literally and be back in random encounter combat.
I've got to say that I have ZERO interest in the toys/games you collect BUT you make your videos so engaging that I am drawn in........IT'S FOR MY SON! Love your passion!
That's really cool seeing the Sega Master System II right next to the original SMS. Somehow, I had both as a kid! Mine didn't come with Sonic, though. I had one that came with Alex Kidd in Miracle World built in (i.e., not a cartridge, but just in the system itself).
Watching a year later... 😂😂 must be such an amazing feeling to just say "ok I'll take that that that and this and that and ok one of those!!" Without any hesitation or regret. I have to debate if I want to buy a .50 soda or not lol
I hope Rick gets lots of games and systems and goodies for his store. Great job Rick. I'm just actually curious, where is he getting money from ? How can just throw thousands of dollars away, just like that? Maybe he saved a ton.
My day one system was the silver GameCube system bundle, with the Zelda collection in one disc. My parents got it for me from, Game crazy/Hollywood video Around Christmas time, it came with the Zelda collection, and one free rental a month for a year!!!!. I think back and realize that was the best choice out of all three consoles, no way my parents were gonna buy me a 500$ console, to this day that was one of the biggest deals on a console, for me at least. Even sweeter when I went to a Toys'R'us, they were closing the store, I came across the strategy guide for that Zelda collection!!!!!! They sold me that strategy guide for a penny. legit was the best Christmas ever!!!!!
I love Rick's channel, but I watch him buying so many things like loose games for the store at 60% pricecharting and think he's going to go out of business. He's getting deals I would love to get when I buy for my personal collection, but he's buying for a store. After transporting back, going through it and testing and inventory, paying employees and this month's rent and bills. Ouch

Well I imagine I'm the owner of it now if this was the copy that was in the mystery packs a while ago haha
You nailed it 😂 my wife would never let me get this stuff myself. Not that I have time for it, anyway.

That poor woman at the end 😂. I totally feel her vibe on being next to overly excited Rick (to be fair the master system is cool)

I feel like Rick is underrated as a negotiator. Most people could not get the deals he's getting.
sometimes i guess its just because the sellers already now him. Its a win win situation, he also gives shout outs for most of them
It’s a good business move to give him good deal since he records these and gives shoutouts. It also helps he’s clearly excited about what he does
And he has a camera crew. Puts a little pressure on the seller
