I bought the Virtual Boy on Day 1 back in August of ‘95 and absolutely loved playing Mario Tennis and Red Alarm on it. Unfortunately, I no longer have it due to circumstances at the time but hope to own one again someday. It was very unique for its time.
I still have mine from Christmas of that year... possibly lol. It was stolen by a game store I used to do buisness with (long story) that closed up, pretty sure the CIB one I bought years later (stolen early 2000's, reaquired in 2013 i believe) was the same one. Got it for $150 trade in credit I acquired from free stuff that was given to me so it really didn't cost me anything to get it back 😅
My cousin had a Virtual Boy. I remember him coming to visit and bringing that with him. I think I played Mario's Tennis for about 10 minutes, and that was my VB experience. Didn't have the heart to tell how much I thought it sucked. Lol

Hey Rick, Tito Francona is a distant relative of mine. When Michael Jordan was in baseball he was their manager! As a gift Michael gave Tito a pair of his cleats that went to my cousins. Keep up the great videos!
Love the Chrono Trigger music in the background. Finally got SNES copy for myself. It completed my trio with the ds version and the playstation version on Final Fantasy Chronicles.
I used to work at media play in the early 2000, and I have a Nintendo gamecude starfox adventures promo sun visor in good condition. I have no clue the value any thoughts?
At 8:34, behind you on the stairwell railing you should hang those awesome jumbo, retro controller pads you had made. They would look really cool and sharper than the plushes.
I feel like more people need to understand that sometimes retro stuff is just as fun and enjoyable to play then compared to something that is just brand new and has unbelievable graphics.
The background behind the Mario shirt needs to be a lighter color. Black on black on black. From 10 feet or more away, you won't be able to tell that it's a Mario t-shirt. All you'll see is the Mario design.
Also I'm sure the past few years you may have noticed that a lot of the recent boxes that come out go up in value if held for a year or two, so if you have the liquidity may not be a bad idea to go hard on your orders for new pokemon because even if it doesn't sell, over time it will be worth more so you can sell for more later on ebay or in store
Nice pokemon cards is definitely a good move i'm sure kids are always still just getting into the series and interested, and people coming back from nostalgia. One of my most memorable places as a kid was a local card shop I used to go to and scroll through a binder of his for a holo every time I got to go there and his place is still around like 15 years later, when I was doing well financially I was going there just to buy stuff sometimes and relive it. Also once you get approved as a Pokemon dealer or whatever and you can buy the fresh booster boxes from the pokemon company themselves when they drop the sets and sell those on top of other booster boxes/packs/singles everything will be well worth it for you I think. Brings in even more traction to your game store + pokemon dealer advertising pointing outside to get some random people driving by to come in that normally wouldn't
I need a new2DS XL, and Harvest Moon 64, Super Mario 64, and some other games... but no money... What if I can pick some NES and SNES games I didn't really enjoy?
Trading in a 'new thing' for an 'old thing' yeah sure. Back when I still had my Wii U I would have loved to trade it for a Model 2 Genesis or a Game Gear. I don't think it's that uncommon, but I agree that a PS5-for-Virtual Boy sounds unique, never heard of that one before. I've seen some trades in recent videos on other retro-focused channels where people sell their PS4s, or their XBOX Ones for Dreamcast or N64 stuff. It does happen.
In 2015 a guy traded The Msadventures of Tron Bonne ps1 game to a local guy owner of a store that used to own a local game store for a Mortal Kombat X Limited Edition. He sold me Msadventures of Tron Bonne for 285 dollars. I knew it was rare and had to buy it. It is an amazing game. Still and own it to this day
Your handheld question is easily answered by realizing that for the past decade and a half, society has moved to a tech in the hand culture so the playing of portable games with handhelds has caught up to those whom played them when they initially came out.
I have actually technically traded a ps5 for a virtual boy twice. One in box for one wirh a bunch of games and one out of box for a bunch of broken consoles. A virtual boy 3 3dsxl, 2 regular 3ds and 3 sega cds all were easy fixes, the 3ds xl one had a broken screen and the others including the regular 3dses were hinges and speaker ribbons(common pop sound), the virtual boy i just cleaned and it worked, then the 3 sega cds were just fuses from people plugging in the wrong power supply. I think he tried testing rhem with and nes power. So i made out more than 50x my money because i got the ps5 for a boxed ocarina of time for the 64 which i paid 20 bucks for at an estate sale. The had the game loose and when i asked how much for the box they said i can have it. So for 20 bucks, a few trades and like 3 hours of repairs i did amazing. That was a good week.
The ps5 situation!! I literally traded in my limited edition Xbox One back when they first came out to get a Nintendo DS Lite lmaooo. Everyone called me crazy but I’m the same way! Love my retro
I remember trading in games way back when. There was a used record store near my house and they had a glass case with some game gear games and you could trade two for one it didn't matter the title
I wish I still had my Virtualboy. I got one with a couple games (Teleroboxer and the Bomberman game) for $35, brand new, from KB Toys in my local mall. Cant even remember what i sold it for, but I'm sure it goes for a lot more now.
I work at a gameshop a small one, I had someone come in once with a mint condition PS4 3 controllers and 12 games for a Xbox 360 E model. He didn't want any games or anything else. His 360 died he didn't have any money and didn't want his PS4 anymore, so he traded it for that...
I would be doing the same by trading in a lot of my stuff for something like the Master Edition CIB. I've been watching that for awhile since I prefer having statues/figures over the games themselves.
I have a thought on the handhelds many of the tablets and digital games you can get are slowly starting to have adds built into them no matter where you're getting them from they'll have adds. Handhelds don't end of the day it's even got to the point where I'm thinking my mom might need a handheld because whether it's her table or iPhone they are going nuts and I've never had that issue with cartridges.

I had Wario land and this cool robot boxing game that was so much fun. Mario tennis pretty fun.

@@BMPK you can emulate the games, but you can't emulate what it's like to play an actual Virtual Boy.

Totally agree with Riff.

He was probably a scalper and was stuck with a ps5 in the basement that he failed to sell for $1000

Best punk rock band shirt I’ve ever seen said “the Michael Jordan of baseball of punk rock” and loved it. Lol.
