There are a lot of techniques you can use to do that, but quick selection tool and masking is a great way out there.. However you can also use pen tool for selection..

Yeah.I don´t know why ppl complain about music, ,version,no stupid chat, etc This tut is what people need , short ,plain and simple, other people shouldn´t be using PS anyway, they aren´t going to get it at the end whoever´s teaching. They´re hopleless.
@ROYAL CHEMPION Nope, it's not. I've tried 5 photos, and none of them worked, because photos with people who waring glasses takes out to much from the photo. So you get "3/4 faces". But thank you for sharing the link.

Okay, thanks. One more question, browsing other videos, I also see some people using the background eraser tool. What is the difference, and which gets the cleaner cut? Even saw some dude like "brush" selecting? What's that about?
there are a lot of way for removing background. You can use any of selection tool for select the object like pen tool, lasso tool, quick selection tool etc.
background eraser tool is working fine when the object's color different from the background. otherwise selection method is great.. basically it's depend on an image characteristics. Keep trying various method in various image.. Then you can found the best method for a particular picture. Thank you.

This is easy when having solid background but how about if it is a blended background?

maybe you're using cc 2017?.. Not a big problem. after selection go to select>hold on shift>select and mask= refined edge

It sucks that refine edge is removed in 2019 PS.
If you need to remove background from your photos - you can easily use Purephotos.app. Just upload your photo and wait a few seconds - it will remove background for you automatically. It can export PSD for you as well

No There are lot of changes in cc 2017 in theme and features of Photoshop, you have written cc 2017 in title is completely misguiding, If you are using 2015 in this tutorial why are you showing 2017 in title. People are looking for 2017 tuts but what we got here is 2015.
