When I insert background as video shows it works perfect, but when I export it like png image and insert in Adobe XD, picture has white traces along the line I did with Refine Edge Tool. Can someone help me please how to do it and save without white traces around refined object ?

@@gajtanbrus239 another way would be to hold crtl then click on the cut out layer to select it, use the quick selection tool in the minus mode to de-select the middle hole bits and go to select > modify > contract > and choose a number of how much of the edge you want off then press ok and create yourself a new mask with that selection. If it's the edges that are visible after invert the selection Ctrl + I while selecting the mask

Fantastic! I have to create composites for my PS class and I've viewed so many tutorials on how to remove a subject from a background and how to refine the edges, and yours is the best!
For some reason the overlay option has been removed in the newest updates so you just have to manually add a layer and lower the opacity. I no longer have the option either, just opacity and different view modes

7:41 I set it as a "new layer", press "ok" and nothing happens. The background does not disappear at all, it stays absolutely the same. None of these "remove background" videos ever work.

This is a great tutorial for removing all types of backgrounds. TIP: If you have the latest version of photoshop and still can't find the object selection tool, go to Edit - Toolbar.
@@tommyalipoyo3954 It's one of those tools that's part of a set. It's there with Quick Selection Tool and Magic Wand Tool. On my default tool bar it's the 4th icon from the top. Hold the button down and a pop up menu will show up and you can select from there.
I know it's probably me, but I don't have those options where you have them. I have the 2020 version - but my toolbar doesn't look like that. So unless you skipped a step at the beginning, mine is somehow different.
This deserves more likes man. At first I couldn't find the overlay color. But I figured it out thankfully and boom, it's done. So gratefull for this tutorial. Due to curfew I started learning photoshop and this helped a lot. I said I will be doing daily challenges. Removing background at first then changing it etc. One challenge each day. Thanks for that.
That's a brilliant idea! its a fun and great way to do it, like I mentioned before to someone else best way is to find a purpose for Photoshop so that will get you to use it more and more. Everytime you use it you pick up a little bit more. Well.. I guess I'll be seeing you at the top ;)
Yeh you've got the latest version of Photoshop and if you can't see the tool there's 3 solutions you can do: 1. Restore your toolbar by going to *(*Select Edit > Toolbar and then click Restore Defaults.*)* 2. Reset or switch back to the default layout.*(*Choose Window > Workspace, then select Essentials (Default) or Reset Essentials.*)* 3. Last option is to customize your toolbar. *(*Choose Edit > Toolbar *or* you can click the 3 dots at the bottom of the tool bar list. If you can't see the tool on the left column, then drag it over from the right column to the left side.*)*
OMG!!! Thank you so much for this video, I don’t have 2020 but with the quick selection took and masks I was able to get a much cleaner background removal than Magic Eraser or Background Eraser which I used to use before. The tutorial is great but how do i save the masked photo because when i do it always puts in a white background but i want it to be transparent (with the grey and white squares)

Can it be because our copy may not be genuine .. i dont know about others but i was just testing a pirated version i got from torrent for now to check some features (for educational purposes ) because the first download had a homepage flaw( couldnt see homepage) then had to download a different setup ...
@@niceguymaanii to be honest with you i think it's more of a bug because even the pirated versions I've seen them work with drag and drop so i think it's more to do with the settings or an error where the feature is disabled automatically either way im going to do some research and I'll let you know what it really is
@@VerticDesigns although the first pirated version i installed had a homepage bug and despite the homepage being checked in settings it wasnt showing. So i had to download uninstall and reinstall from another uploader with a different copy which fixed that issue. Just wanted to let ya know so u may not waste your time over pirated glitches... If it also happens on a genuine copy then its something that should be fixed.. 👍

If you're in select and mask it should be at the top right of your screen if not then you can just get yourself a solid coloured layer if you click the half filled circle at the bottom of the layer panel

I swear there used to be a smart option in the lasso tool where it was like a paint brush and it automatically selected your object for you. It was so quick and easy, and I can't seem to find a video for it now. *cue Twilight Zone music*

It's basically an overlay so you can still see the background and the areas you need to select, it's slightly more dim so the highlighted areas stand out more

You could use the shift edge option in the refine options to cut the outline more if you put the slider in the minus numbers then save it as a png

when i go to save, "new layer" does not show up. "layer mask" and "selection" are the only options

I don't get the properties you get when I click Select and mask. I just get a window with very little info and no options to choose from.
when you are at the select and mask yours removes the red from the subject my one is adding more red to it for some reason idk why
when you use brush it mask in red color you can open your selected place come and see the new tutorials

Make sure you've got the second mode selected for add and your on the background layer

Go at the button of the tools and right click on the 3 dots "edit tool" and add it to the left side if it's on the right or look for it in there
