If you hold down on one and the app you can drag it into another and put them all into a group. Yeah it's dumb that it doesn't explain this but it's pretty cool when you get it done since you can control them all together
I was really hoping you would cover how to get them up into the can. I have these lights and am not sure how to adjust them to fit my 6" cans. The springs aren't working properly so I know I need to adjust them, but I was hoping you would have had to do that part.
Hello, i have a question. If my router uses the smart connect feature which it combines 2.4Ghz & 5Ghz. How do i connect the Wiz product using 2.4Ghz band?
i noticed the video only buzzed when you were touching the light bulb, some sort of static electricity travelling through the light bulb to the camera?
Cool video. I'm not sure about my statement. But I think wiz was a competing company that Phillips got scared of and bought them. It's not a technology in itself.
Awsome video. U answered my question about the changing color of the lights. I am getting 8 lights for 4 rooms. Your video helped me a lot. Thanks a lot for the video. 👍👍👍👍
So do you already need to have pot light cans to install these in? These can't be installed by themselves? I need to install some in drop ceiling can it be done without any additional hardware?
What is the response of the lights when you lose power? Do they retain connectivity and do they stay on when the power comes back on until you turn them off, or do they stay off when the power comes back on?
Hey thanks for the video! I just wanted to know if when you turn off the power switch, does it ever require you to repair or re-add them to your home setting on the wiz app? Also, in your opinion, is the hub system a lot more useful and convenient? Thanks!
It doesn't require you to re-pair but it does set them back to a default color. I've never used the hub, actually. The lights connected to wifi seem to work the best for me.
Do they make these that don't have to have a can? I have several for my home that are just white and they work great but I don't have cans, they are just the "pop up " ones.
Because I believe it’s not required to for hub and doesn’t have much customization (like custom room setting for specific occasions) but you can still change the colors and brightness At will with the smartphone or the smart assistant you have
@@tim_sessions Would be nice to have a Wiz wall switcher to keep settings, I assume Wiz doesn't do switchers or would be possible to use a different one?
They do retain the light settings . Go to settings , select the light and there are presets to use when the power is switched off and back on . I had the issue initially but I figured it out later on . Works great now I don’t have to reset them all the time
Ay.... yo.... here's an *oddball* question, if anybody could answer please: When using the Wiz app, will the app rotate if I turn my phone sideways - like it does when typing text messages? Thank you kindly.
@@tim_sessions - Thank you sir. I kinda figured; I opened up a couple of other apps on my phone and they don't rotate either. I never had a reason to think about it before; so far the only app on my phone that rotates is text messaging. I guess no porno in landscape mode. Oh well.
Anyone else have experience the app to be super laggy and even having it a group not all the bulbs change to the same. If you get the hue bridge, would those wiz connect and work? So you can use the more better app hue?
Tim Sessions they did make me download the new app but in every way it’s the same app and is still laggy so it’s just a shame but I’ll put up with it and use it
Great vid! Like your calmness. Is it a code violation to install without a can housing? I have mine installed directly into drop ceiling tile P.S. if you bought from home Depot, wouldn't be surprised if the one having issues at beginning was repackaged. They do that a lot there grrrrr
I am not sure... You may want to look it up, but I am sure you are alright. I've seen that method before with drywall. They don't heat up like incandescent bulbs. With that being said, I am not an expert and can't speak on building codes. The lights have been working a lot better with the app update.
thank you so much! great video and it was really helpful :). keep doing what you’re doing! i’ve been looking at app reviews and they’re kinda mixed, i was wondering, does the app ever crash or anything like that?
The app is terrible. The auto add feature never works and manual pairing is also garbage. The wifi signal is also weak on the included controller. Once set up they are great but talk about a PITA to get them there.
You seemed so humble man in your video, I liked your video within 5 seconds of listening to you.
Thanks for the kind words!
Such a calm gentle demeanor.
awesome video! I am really late to this. but this video is really amazing!
Thanks man. Great video
You're welcome!
What's up Tim?!?! Thanks for the set up vid. I'm down in O town visiting a friend. Kind of cool. Go Aggies lol
Welcome to paradise.
Amazing review I can tell the happiness 😊
Awesome review. Thank you so much! Loved the video!
Glad you enjoyed it!

Can we turn off 1 or 2 lights out of 4 lights?
Thanks man I was wondering about the color. 👍🏼👍🏼

I just bought mine at Home Depot
They will order to the store and pre pull for you
Thanks for the tip!
Are you able to control each light in your studio independently? Could they all be a different color? Or some on and others off?
You can set them to be all different through the app.
So these don’t work with the philips bridge? these are technically not “hue”?
No they don’t. I have mine working with google home but can’t make it recognize them with homebridge and Phillips or Wiz plug-in
i noticed the video only buzzed when you were touching the light bulb, some sort of static electricity travelling through the light bulb to the camera?
How bright are the lights? I will buy today however see 85W options for $10 more. I am planning to install on my front entryway and front porch
Thank you for this video. Do you know if these come in a 4” size?
Cool video. I'm not sure about my statement. But I think wiz was a competing company that Phillips got scared of and bought them. It's not a technology in itself.
Fun project.
What is the default color? Can you select the default?
Awsome video. U answered my question about the changing color of the lights. I am getting 8 lights for 4 rooms. Your video helped me a lot. Thanks a lot for the video. 👍👍👍👍
Glad I could help
Do I need to put it in where the lightbulbs go? I wanted to plug them in
They do screw in to an ordinary socket, but you'll need to have a recessed fixture for it to work.
Sometimes my lights wont turn on or off.
Sometimes the app can’t find the lights.
I would rather pay more and they work every time.
Do you know if these bulbs sync with your music tempo?
Hi! Was wondering does it cause glare on the brightest? Thanks so much!
Nope, not really.
Love your vibes brotha! Definitely going to sub! Quick question if you don’t mind. Is there a strobe light feature in the app by any chance?
There’s not… just a rapid pulse, but nothing to create a strobe effect. Thanks for sticking around!
So do you already need to have pot light cans to install these in? These can't be installed by themselves?
I need to install some in drop ceiling can it be done without any additional hardware?
They screw right in to any bulb fixture. I’m no expert, but I’ve seen them added to holes cut in the sheet rock.
What is the response of the lights when you lose power? Do they retain connectivity and do they stay on when the power comes back on until you turn them off, or do they stay off when the power comes back on?
They stay connected to wifi, but you may have to turn them back on when the power comes on.

Way cool!
Would I be able to bypass the adapter and wire nut the wires?
Do they make these that don't have to have a can? I have several for my home that are just white and they work great but I don't have cans, they are just the "pop up " ones.
Yeah, I think you can just pop these up.
Will these work with Hue?
No.
I own they are amazing
Does this work with Homekit?
Yea
No wiz lights don’t work with HomeKit
Can you still use the wall switch to turn them on/off and dim them without having to reset and reconfigure them through the app?
In my experience, turning them off and on keeps the connectivity, but the color you turn them off with doesn't "save."
@@tim_sessions what’s the default color?
This light work with alexa echo?
How bright is it
Installed four in my basement and I had to manually pair all four of them.
PLEASE EXPLAIN ME WHY THESE COSTS 4 TIMES LESS IM SHOCKED!!

@@georgethemonkeydrummer5598 I went with sensors the no hub version
Can I purchase these lights in India?
I couldn't find any Amazon link to purchase them.
I am not sure. I purchased mine at Home Depot. Maybe they ship to India?
@@tim_sessions Thanks for your reply
With each light connecting to the wi-fi, does it cause any wifi problems, such as slowing things down, getting bumped, losing connection etc. ?
Have you found a dimmer switch that works with these?
Just a regular dimmer from home depot seems to have worked fine for me.
You don't need a separate dimmer, you can set up a routine for the bulb and ask your home assistant to dim the lights by x%.
I saw you listed the the items in the bio, so do I need the lights and the bulbs? Or just the lights from Home Depot?
The lights include the LEDs. I installed the outlets too. I bought them at Home Depot as well.
What size opening do you need for these?
5/6” trim. So about a 4” opening. Double check that before you buy though.
II made a WIZ vs GLOBE video! I love WIZ best!
My wifi signal won't work with metal cans. Does anyone have this problem and know how to fix it?
I loved your video. Thank you. I was told that the canned lights cause fires. Do you find that your cans get hot?
Nope, I have no experience with mine getting hot.
@@tim_sessions Thanks for replying. I ended up going with the Lumary 6inch Downlights. They are so beautiful.
What type of cans do you need for these lights(link)? Many thanks

Here you go!
Is there a way to do this without pre-existing canisters.
If the internet stops working, will the lights continue to work?
Yep, they still work.
Hi Tim, nice video. Do the lights retain their setting if you turn them off and then back on from the switch?
Not with my experience... They reset to a warm tone. The only way to retain the setting is to turn them on or off with an app or smart speaker.
@@tim_sessions Would be nice to have a Wiz wall switcher to keep settings, I assume Wiz doesn't do switchers or would be possible to use a different one?

@@DJAM87 yeah, we ended up with these in our kitchen and did find the retention setting. We're really enjoying them.
Can they operate without WiFi? Area where they will go has none available.
Not to full capacity. I’d get regular downlights if you don’t have WiFi in the area
@@tim_sessions they are about the same price, so might as well get them. I just wanted to know if they would work sans wifi

How do you change the default setting on these?
It's all done in-app. You can customize and save scenes. Really easy.
You already did the hard work of putting in actual can lights, why didn’t you just put regular hue bulbs in there for the same effect?
I guess because I already had the cans, I decided to go with the Down lights.
thank you so much! great video and it was really helpful :). keep doing what you’re doing! i’ve been looking at app reviews and they’re kinda mixed, i was wondering, does the app ever crash or anything like that?
The app has been great for me. The lights sometimes disconnect from Wifi, but it’s easy to reset.
@@tim_sessions thanks for replying! i'm planning on getting 4 recessed lights and this is really helpful.
I have both the wiz and the regular Hue and the more expensive light putting out more vibrant colors but to each their own
Do you know what cages are compatible for these lights?! Anyone?
These lights work with 5 or 6 inch cans. There is a screw that holds the clips in place and you can move the clips depending on your needs.
The link is not the same product..pls send the link for that product
Ok, sorry about that. I have linked the Home Depot link in the description.
Have you connected it to alexa?
I have connected Google.
I can't find these for sale anywhere.
They were hard for me to find too. I had to keep checking with Home Depot.

How many watts is one light?
they have 65 watts and 85 watts, the 65 is 17 bucks, the 85 watts is 27 bucks.
I heard the Phillips bulbs with a hub work better
glad phillip got rid of that damn hub bullshit, love these bulbs, but can't use something that don't work (the hub)
