    Thank you for taking the time to go through the finer details. I wasn't aware of the Circadian Rhythm option and that seems to be a unique thing to Wiz so far.

    Just set this light up yesterday and I could not figure out the app and different settings. I didn’t know the difference between warm light and cool light. This was very informative and helpful. Thank you so much!

      Is Fade In and Fade Out the same as Wake Up and Bedtime?

    • @Appmyhome
      @Appmyhome  3 года назад

      Hi Dana, thank you. Fade in and fade out basically turns the light on and off slowly so it not an abrupt transition. Wake up and Bedtime seems be more about the time of day although maybe they include a slow on and slow off.

    We have a coffee bar with 2 suspended lights over it similar to what you have over your kitchen island counter. These light sockets require 40W bulbs. Do you think I can replace them with 'Philips WiZ 45-Watt Equivalent R20 Smart LED bulb'?
    Thanks a lot! I'm a Wiz freak!

    • @Appmyhome
      @Appmyhome  Год назад

      if you check the package it should show the actual wattage used which will give you a better indicator.

      @@Appmyhome Hi there. Thanks for your reply. I went to Home Depot and bought 2 of the lights I told you about and yes they work well.
      Do you have the app 'Wiz V2' installed on your phone? I wanted to try their new 'SpaceSense' feature which is a motion detector that works with the WIFI signal. Instead of adding a new room as 'Coffee bar', I just added these 2 Wiz 45W bulbs in the kitchen room, and set a SpaceSense. I've put it to 1 minute for testing. I've also switched the sensitivity from 5 (by default) to 6. That works great! After one minute there's no one nor the dog in the room, all the lights in the kitchen off by themselves (not just the 2 new ones). They turn back on when someone enters in the kitchen. Give it a try if you did not yet. You can follow the instructions of la belle p'tite minette:
      ruclips.net/video/jriN5O-ObWE/видео.html
      Just make sure you have Wiz V2 on your phone.
      What sucks is that is that the SpaceSense system only works with their new Wiz bulbs and other devices from last summer. They said they will adjust their old stuff to the SpaceSense tech.

    WIZ lights are awesome once you get them connected. Getting them connected is another story... Most difficult to connect. Sometimes they'll connect easy and other times it's a major pain in the butt

    • @Appmyhome

      How far away is your router? I the ceiling material blocking signals? When we installed as you see in the video we had issues too. So we followed the path we show. it helped a lot.

    Thank you for the video...does the switch dimmer still work with these to override the brightness that was set in the app?

    • @Appmyhome
      @Appmyhome  2 года назад

      The wall switches are on off only. Can't use dimmer switches as the fixture requires full power. You can adjust the light level using the app. In our case we set up the fixtures to use the circadian rhythm so they dim over time morning to night.

    Oh and one more question: can you create groups in your kitchen- like 3 lights as group 1 and the other 4 as group 2 and then be able to control each group separately? I am wondering because I want to do this in a tv room

    • @Appmyhome
      @Appmyhome  3 года назад +1

      you can create rooms and put whichever light/lights in it you want. you can also create scenes to do this. So you could have a room called Kitchen main lights, and another Kitchen Pendant lights.

    Im not sure what you just said on Power Outage but judging by your reaction and evading the question ... so your saying in plain english ....thats kinda of the scoop of that....(it sucks) am I correct ??? ... so it does not have a memory of the last setting like the Hue lights....

    • @Appmyhome
      @Appmyhome  3 года назад

      it does remember the last setting. we really like these lights. keep in mind our setup is these lights are connected to our kitchen light switch. so we turn them on and off that way all the time. and when they turn back on they resume their last setting.

    Can we turn on and off with Alexa or Google assistance? Or only colour change is supported with Alexa and google?

      Yes, whatever you name the light, Alexa will turn it off and on by command.

    Does the turnable white light retain last colour/temperature after switching off?

    • @Appmyhome
      @Appmyhome  3 года назад +2

      Yes, it even will restore to the proper place in time if you have circadian rhythm set.

    • @Appmyhome

      Home Depot sells both a white and a color version. Links are in the description. For our kitchen we used the white, for the bath we used the color version.

      @@Appmyhome thank you. I purchased the full color but on the app it only shows the color white.

    • @Appmyhome
      @Appmyhome  3 года назад

      @@llekrambdier when you click on the light (circle) you should see an oval button near the bottom. When I click on that I get a full menu of color options. I wonder if when you installed the light it got the type wrong, though don't see how that would happen. Also, has the light done a firmware update? I think the update is done in the background. Also when you click the gear icon to the right of the oval, does the specs show as a white light or color? mine says "Downlight,Colors" at the top.

    What kind of switch are you using?

    • @Appmyhome
      @Appmyhome  3 года назад

      For the kitchen we have a mix of Jasco Z-Wave and Zigbee switches. elsewhere in the house we use C by GE switches. in the video the kitchen uses those Jasco switches and the Master Bath (color light above the tub) we use an Ecobee switch.

    • @Appmyhome

      You don’t have to use these though, you can do a lot with just the Wiz lights.

    Does anyone know if the Philips WiZ LED light strip needs to be connected to the power source to be powered?

    • @Appmyhome
      @Appmyhome  3 года назад

      Hi John, we only tested the downlight and bulbs. From what's shown in the Home Depot site, they come with a power adaptor. They also sell an extension kit, but you'd need to pick up the kit with the power adaptor to use it.

    You really skipped over the installation part? Why did you need an electrician? I have pot lights, do they go into those?

    • @Appmyhome
      @Appmyhome  3 года назад

      Hi Erik, appreciate your desire to show the install, which as you know we usually do. Well, aside from the high ceilings, the old lights were fluorescent can lights that you had to unwire the transformers to put these in. plus modify the cans to install these lights physcially. It was just easier to change out the around 20 cans we have, which was much easier for our electrician to do. We got the fun of programming them. If they were conventional cans like we have in some rooms, then we would have done it ourselves.
