Don't forget about wiggler and the mii! They are also in middle class as well. Although, I think wiggler should've been in Heavy class, but whatever. But for real, is the pipe frame used in mario kart 64? I used to play mario 64 all the time when I was 6 or 7. But this was in 2013 or 2014. The reason I had the N64 was because it was my older brothers, plus he even had his own N64 Pikachu edition. I always messed around on Kalamari Desert, following the train into tunnel and back, so much fun. But when I got my 2DS, Mario Kart 7 was already preinstalled on it. But after at least 7 months of playing it, I unlocked the Pipe Frame kart. I thought it looked familiar, so hooked up my N64, put Mario Kart 64 in, turned it on, and just as thought, they looked the same. Also the freaking B-Dasher from Mario Kart DS!!! I loved that game! But I lost it, sadly. At least the kart is still there to remind me of the fun times I had with Mario Kart DS.

There's one important thing missing here: Acceleration Tiers. Your accel stat is divided into tiers, and having just a bit more accel doesn't mean it's better. To go up a tier and see a different result, you need at least a certain value.
If you really want more accel, you should aim for a .75 value (1.75, 2.75, 3.75) or 1.00 if minimal (not 0.75, 1.00 is still better than 0.75). Other than the minimal, everything between .75 values acts the same as the lower number (0.75 < 1 = 1.25 = 1.5 < 1.75 = 2.00 = 2.5 < 2.75, etc).
The only exceptions are everything after 4.5, in which case every extra point counts (4.75 < 5 < 5.25 < 5.5), but you only reach that with lighter characters.
All lighter gliders give you 0.25 accel, and going up/down 1 weight class removes/adds 0.5 accel.
You don't need to do it exactly a .75 value. But if, let's say, your accel is 3.5, you might consider switching parts around so it's 3.75 instead. Or you can "sacrifice" some of it for extra speed, as long as it's still 2.75 or higher.
Kart optimization changes a lot when you take all of this into account. 8 has a similar system.

People saying the "speed" comparison is wrong, here's whats up: Back then I made the mistake of recording both cars going from 0 to top speed instead of comparing them going top speed at the beginning of the clip. That's why you see the right car going faster. Whoops.
Yeah, also you didn't change the karts for underwater and gliding. That's why in the underwater one the right one was waaaaaaaaay quicker than the left. I was confused first as well until I realized what you just said.

This is the fastest Kart I have found so far.
LouisFMJ You must have very slow karts then. The speed is 2 and a half. Fast Kart: Zucchini or Blue Seven with Slick Wheels.
It's not the the speed that makes your cart fast. It's the acceleration. Do you know a thing about marokart?

Am i the only one that doesn't care about offroad? I mostly just mushroom it thru grass or accept my bad reaction time and drive off
Also, i personally think the best combo is a featherweight character, a bruiser body, red monster wheels, and the paraglider. this combo not only gives you a lot of offroad but a lot of stability and speed and above average drift and acceleration

I find that Pipe frame and Slick wheels is great for shy guy in the way I play

This has the most balanced stats. It has a slight advantage on off road.

What I have learnt in your Nintendo 2DS you can press the R button on the top left corner right and if you see turning roads you have hold press and you will drift sometimes it shows the colour speed “blue” and “red” blue is the medium speed and red is faster

For those of you who don't know. To unlock those Gold Wheels he has, you can either collect 15,000 coins, or you can get at least 1 star on every single cup difficulty (50cc, 100cc, 150cc and Mirror Cup, all those cups MUST have 1 star or more).
To get the gold steering wheel you have to play in first person for the majority of 200 races and you'll lose it if you go 20 races without using first person mode.

aka Dope I disagree because once you hit top speed you don’t really take your finger off of the gas button so I think speed and handling is more

It's the fastest one, there are like 5 that are as fast as this one, but this one has the most acceleration. So if your first priority is speed and your second one is acceleration, this one is *perfect* .

@@Applesauce525 I don't have the golden glider, I only got all the normal pieces+golden wheels. Also I don't use the build in my previous comment anymore. I actually used it like, once or something.
My fav is Lakitu/BumbleV/Sponge/Paraglider. It has good acceleration and off road, which work well together, so for example, if you do the drum cut on music park, but land in the grass, you can get out quickly and can do the brown and grey piano cuts.
I like acceleration+handling a lot more :3
My favorite combination is Soda Jet, Rollers, and I originally used paraglider but I ended up switching to the golden glider. 😄

Did you even listen to the video? If you are on the lead most of the time and getting bombarded with bullshit, a kart with very high acceleration does make the difference since you recover from those hits very fast. Faster than if you had a kart with max speed and minimum acceleration.
Well it's been one of my biggest complaints of mario kart since the beginning of time. Even though acceleration does help it only helps if you have a really good lead. A neck to neck battle for the finish and then getting bombarded by crap just screws you big time.
mrdante361 True, but that adds to the fun. Either you can drop from 1st to 8th in a matter of seconds or you can pull a great comeback from 8th to 1st (Has happened to me XD)
I suggest the paraglider as an excuse for lacking much acceleration. It's a free +0.25 acceleration and -0.25 weight transfer. it's pretty sweet if you ask me

I find myself using the B-Dashed, Red Monster/Gold Tires/Slick and Flower Glider. Personally, those just work for me. Just my silly opinion.

I always use Bowser with the b-dasher, slicks and the super glider on time trials with only a few exceptions (like Wario's shipyard, where I use Daisy in the egg 1 with gold tires and a lightweight glider)

Just picked up a 3DS recently and had to get this game! I just want to know if anyone else likes to race exclusively in first person. I tried it out, and haven't been able to go back to third person. Maybe I'm just weird..

Majority of mk7 players use 3rd person. But just because u prefer 1st person doesn't mean ur weird
If you go into 1st person Gyro controls, just press back on the Directional Pad, and you'll go back to 3rd person Control Pad control.

Metal Mario, red big tires, long slim white cart, and the spiky orange glider. It has so much speed and so much wheight. If you're sure you won't have that many mistakes, that is the what's for you

A good acceleration/handling build would be:
Yoshi / Egg 1 / Roller / Any light glider.
Yoshi and not any featherweight character because any acceleration above 4.75 is redundant. But if you want a slightly faster speed when you use a mushroom, then go right ahead and use a Feather character.

Everyone had the Metal Mario/B dasher/Red Monster/Swooper combo. I used this one pure for speed and later used the big tires to be better off-road
I don't have a Wii U so I'm hooked on this game because I got a 2ds last summer

Yoshi, Blue 7, Slicks, & Paraglider. Sure, the handling, drift, and off-road suffer, but you can counter-steer harder. AND THAT TOP SPEED THO!
Egg1 and rollers has never failed me
The best combo for newbies is:
Party girl, *dem big tires* and the bat glider, it gives a really big advantage and makes it super easy to win in 150cc cups
(Edit: spam drift as many as you can! Try to do it at every curve)

A kart combination i enjoy using: Cloud 9 + Sponge Wheels. fuck the glider idk what to say for that, i just have several reskins of one that has the same stats but i dont use the super glider. i use Swooper! Also, use this with someone who weighs as much as Wario meaning... Metal Mario, Honey Queen, and Bowser. Speed: 3 bars and a little bit of a 4th. Acceleration, Weight, Handling: 3 bars. Off Road: 3 and a tiny bit more than a half. If this is used with someone as light as lets say, Shyguy, these are da stats: Speed: 2 and a little bit of 3rd. Acceleration: 5 bars. weight: 1 bar. handling: 3 and a half. off road: 4 bars. The characters with the same stats as shyguy's with this kart is Lakitu, Toad, and Koopa Troopa. For Princess Peach, Yoshi, and Daisy, the stats are: Speed: 2 and a half. acceleration: 4 and a half. weight: 1 and a half. handling: 3 and a half. off road: 3 and almost 4 bars. for Mario and Luigi the stats are: Speed: almost 3. acceleration: 4. weight: 2. handling: 3 and a little bit of 4. off road: almost 4. I would suggest using this as Wario and other characters that weigh the same. the other characters i didnt mention have different stats and saying them would just make this even longer
My two favorite karts are:
Koopa Troopa + Bumble V + Sponge + Flower Glider
Toad + Soda Jet + Mushroom + Paraglider
I just use Pipe Frame + Slim + Super Glider

the kart with the most acceleration and handling is feather character-royal ribbon-roller wheels-daisy glider.
I'm pretty sure every character has an identical top speed. "Speed" only affects boosts. Your speed experiments are all measuring acceleration since they start from 0 speed.

Since I got the gold kart, I have used my Mii, golden kart, standard wheels and any of the few gliders that increase your acceleration every time I play online.

Just got this game four days ago and I'm really surprise and happy to see there are still a lot of people playing online mode.
The only reason I preferred 7 over Deluxe is B-Dasher and Slick Tires is suck in Deluxe version. LOL.

Is it just me or do the people on Mario Kart have god like movements. I play a lot of online MK7, and I find that my opponents always have super crazy abilities. Like crazy drifting, teleportation, random speed boosts, invincibility etc.
I was in a race once as Laiktu with Clown Car and Roller, and another racer was Toad with Soda Jet and Slick. We get to the first turn of the second section of rainbow road and I have Triple Greens. The toad only has a banana, but manages to ram into me (without drifting) and knock me off without getting hurt and without losing speed.
Not to mention a bunch of crazy green shell snipes. Do shells travel faster when you throw them backwards? I was in another race with a Rosa in front, and she threw a banana behind her and it didn't appear until it was too late to avoid it. After I gained my speed back I caught up to the Rosa again (this time she was further away), but her green shell zoomed right into my face? Am I getting really unlucky or do these things just happen on Mario Kart

The Zucchini and Sponge is a good combination for the Crown Cup. You don't slip as much on the roads
