"a nice box to use, it's quite tight" yea that's what we all desire
🙄
Ahahahah
If the front box isn't tight enough, they have a back box. Usually does the trick.
And Brown
A nice tight box with a little lube added makes for a nice action !!!
Bet Matt says "I've massively overspent".
Hey, nice "tight boxes" don't come cheap mate!!!
Must reference Kill Bill here. Only for Brits, this is a Pussy Wagon.
Matt's actually very amusing, dry, funny. I imagine he's quite into Chris Morris, The Day Today, Brass Eye, and other such satirical nonsense.
It’s Obligatory At This Point 😭
Particularly likely with a land rover tbf
The words "cheap" and Range Rover" never go together. Cracking profit margin as long as it is the last you see of the car, otherwise that can soon disappear and more.
Oh how you quite obviously know land rovers … I’ve known quite a few of these with faulty 4wd systems not to mention those chocolate inginium engines … best avoided
It's still got that AA badge on the windscreen! And when you said 'brown' a horrifying image of a brown Austin Allegro came to mind!
That colour is actually quite cool. Not in the least Allegro-ish.
Vince
Allegro coming to my family was when we knew we had made it
@@KKTR3 Crikey, did you live in a cave?
omg brought back memories for me ! our sales rep had a brown one, brand new and we all rushed out to admire it ! lol
Allegro brown still makes me feel a bit icky today. I think the main reason that colour was popular was that it wouldn't show up the rust in a years time .
@@KKTR3 Even with the quartic steering wheel? Hmmm….discuss😂
You know you're watching a lot of HPA when you start taking more of an interest in Land Rovers 😅 Cracking vid as always Matt!
Just dont buy one.
@@coops1964 Yeah. We all know why they are so cheap ! INSURANCE.
Insuring this for anybody under 45 would cost the value of the car.
Brown? Whoever buy cars for you needs their eyes checked
I think all these UK youtubers have affected me as I recently bought a RR Sport Autobiography… Matt is probably the best spokesperson for bad financial decisions involving a LR product. 😂
Most of the windscreens leak Matt
Could explain the musty smell
Open drivers door
Stand outside and put your hand on top of windscreen and give slight press
Look from outside at top of screen
If you can see it moving it’s leaking
Hopefully it’s not or it’s been repaired already
We do them every week 👍🏼
Best of luck with it
Love your content
You could have been a top gear presenter 😊
No he couldn’t he has a brain 😂.
@@b.2221😂 that’s true actually
I do like the colour, it is a subtle shade of brown.
After you had ‘massively overspent’, this Range Rover looks amazing Matt.
Great content as always. I enjoyed watching it❤.
By coincidence I had just watched “I insured a cheap range rover evoque for £8,500!” 😜
Had conversation with someone today, he couldn’t get insurance!
Thats about the going rate in this crazy country 😂
@@keithbroadway479 I know a few people who have had to sell theirs due to insurance prices. One guys went from 400 a year to 3 grand. He couldnt get it cheaper anywhere else as a lot of companies wont insure them.
cheap
@@lumsdotyou a budgie?
Saab did a colour like that and called it "beige!" 9-5 estates look great in it!
I had one! 2004 9-5 3.0TiD estate vector sport. Unbelievably fast car. Ate scoobys but ate tyres too.
Scooby wasn't racing you 😭 😂 😭 @@jonharvey3676
Always enjoy your videos bud keep them coming
Good job! Looking forward to seeing if it gets full asking.
I love this mate you seriously inspire me i love you you're the best
Hi Matt, thank you for uploading another video. It’s a nice looking car , I hope you sell it pretty fast. £1000 bill from the mechanics was one hell of a bill. Nice profit though. Thank you for taking the time to upload another video. Ged.
Range Rovers are not for me anymore due to the insurance issues but can’t deny that was a steal at £8500. Nice one Matt👍
You’re doing so well this year Matt, no more losses ❤
Prepping cars to your standard is a no brainer for a dealer...
unfortunately a lot don't! Happy customers and repeat business is the only way,and also a happy conscience! Keep up the good work.
Always listen to your Mother, she knows best, and has quality taste in cars 👍
It looks a good bet for a bit of profit Matt. Cleaned up, this should sell fairly quickly. These Evoques are often bought to impress friends etc....The only slightly worrying thing, is that you may end up on first name terms with the local Range Rover service manager rather sooner than you'd like.....
I had a 12 plate Evoque, absolutely loved it, the 2.2 diesel pulled like a train quickly to cop bothering speeds without having to turn the radio up. The old shape is still better than the current jelly mould incarnation IMO.
The brake dust on the wheels matches the paint at least :)
Excellent playing, nice and clean from low b to c sharp. glad you use that little side key for A sharps which is smoother and purer sounding.
Great video Matt good luck with the sale
As in London they have fall en out of bed due to theft mainly but it looks lovely
Nice video Matt. You never disappoint. Entertaining commentary as always buddy. They’re good cars when looked after. I like JLR products. I just do. Kaikoura stone is named after the town in South Island, New Zealand 🇳🇿 where you watch the whales in the southern ocean. 👌no wonder how I know that? 🤔🇳🇿
Another great video Matt, it’s funny because when me and my friend Tom go to the Pub or shopping etc, when we turn up we go …” well we’re here” 😂😂 it’s one of those if you know you know type things. Keep up the great videos sir 😍😍.
😂😂
Another great car & an even better video 👍
Love the color..& the manual..sweet.
I still think your new intro music sounds like it's being mixed by a bad DJ (the beats sounds a bit of sync) every time I hear it 😂. Anyway great video as always!
The Range Rover, Unreliable Moneypit .
BMC had that colour, called Rose Taupe!
Another great video Matt!! Love your honesty about all the cars you buy.
Good to see you are back on form over spending again Matt, it's just not you when you don't. But nice looking Evoque, so money well spent as usual. Love your videos so keep them coming please.
Had a 2015 Evoque Dynamic in the same colour - loved it I did.
It replaced a 2012 White "Pure"...
Now drive a 2021 Evoque HSE.
Great cars......
I drove the 2.0 ingenium evoque for 7 years and 242‘000km.
I highly recommend to not make an oil change every 30‘000km and not to drive short distances 😂
Chain rattles like crazy.
The Evoque is great I really enjoyed the driving comfort and meridian surround system of the car, best in its class
Perhaps every 10-15km
You got lucky the engine didn't eat itself. I got rid of my 2.0d Ingenium XE last month that I had really looked after with oil changes every 6-8k and still ended up with a very rattly chain. Only 80k and chain rattle. The diesel ingenium is not JLRs finest moment
Yours is Gasoline I presume please post what to look for enginium engines very little data on net.
@@StormeeSkyesOr you could have just got the chain replaced. Going rate is around £1.5k fitted. Cheaper than buying a new car, surely??
Good buy, can’t beat a tight box Matt!!!
I have driven manual vehicles since 1986 and my present car is my first automatic 😂. When you said the colour was brown, In my mind I thought dark chocolate brown, but actually that looks quite a nice colour.
I originally subscribed to this channel because I am fascinated by the used motor trade and there are many YT channels that cater for this interest, but none are more entertaining than this one. Matt's running commentary is informative and funny and he is a real star with great comedy timing.
Thanks!
Hi Matt love the style of those cars lets hope it sells quick and make a profit.
Good evening Matt, looks like you've saved a another Range Rover I think you will sell it quite quickly and someone be very happy with that one well done. Cheers Phil from Newark
Hey Matt, great video as always. Your talk about tyres got me thinking: do you think you could you make a video on the best tyres to buy for various price ranges and types of car? I know next to nothing about tyres and I suspect there are quite a few people in the same boat. Cheers
Love your videos :)
Glad you like them!
And I absolutely love the colour, it's a great way they've made brown look nice ❤
I’d call the color “bronze”. And I like it.
Hi Matt I wish you all the best of luck with your sale
Vauxhall did a similar colour called pepper dust.
I had it on a very under powered meriva
Nice car. Good video. Well played on the profit.
I've saw one recently advertised in the same colour but it had black painted wheels on it and it looked good, and I'm not a huge fan of the wheels painted like this but the colour combo went together well. My brother had a couple of them as company cars and he loved them too. Great vid Matt.
Wait until you get an insurance quote. My disco sport increased. 200 % This year. 😢
Interesting as my insurance quote on my BMW went from £275 to £291. Tried the usual comparison websites and the cheapest was £401.
My Disco Sport insurance has gone up less (percentage-wise) than my wife's Fiesta - both renewal quotes for this month from LV. Insurance prices not just an LR problem.
Ah Matt, I did notice the AA sticker was still in the windscreen after you’d prepped the Evoque!
I love your patter which comes over as if no one else but me were watching……which is happily not the case. BTW, on my Liverpool trips from Hampshire, your banter would be better than radio or Spotify🤣🤣
Great video HPA, great work Matt, nice car,"were having a nice time aren't we"! Aren't we!🤣👍
Brown if you’re buying, a delicate fawny brindle if you’re selling!😊
Finally some positive content about a RR, great cars if looked after and are not too bad on reliability in my experience. Can’t beat a manual Evoque and those ingenious engines are really both rapid and frugal in equal measure. £20 a year car tax too if you look hard enough 😀🍻
Ingenium!
I'm watching & listening knowing this one is gonna be interesting 🍿
Hi Matt, sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but the alarm going off when you opened the OSR door is symptomatic of a door latch failure so I suspect it won't be locking that door when you lock the car, it's not unheard of with Evoque and XF of this age.
To test it, lock the car and leave the keys out of range in case it has keyless entry (don't think it does, but covering all bases) and see if the door still opens and the alarn goes off.
Thought I'd let you know as I know you pride yourself on preparing cars to a very high standard and wouldn't want to deal with a complaint.
You may find by sorting it that you have folding mirrors too (if fitted) as when a door latch fails, the mirrors won't fold in as they only do this at the end of the sequence once all doors are locked.
Source: Have worked in two JLR service departments
Nice Car Matt, i like that colour personally. A colleague of mine put 108k on an identical car in 3 years and it was like new!
Had a 16 plate myself from new for a couple of years then moved onto an E Pace. Good video as per 🤔😎
That Wonder Grip is good stuff. Tgat van has been stuck in the car park for ages.
Matt, you should get on the phone to Wonder Grip and get them to pay for all the free publicity you give them in every video you do!.
First, love the videos. ❤
I only watch to see if the static caravan AKA The "wonder grip" van has moved
Nice one. for a car that age I wouldn't bother with genuine JLR service parts, assuming you can even get them, since good quality branded ones from OE suppliers would do.
Another cracking vid Matt, i see you left the AA sticker. I think its a great colour!
My wife has a 2018 Evoque HSE Dynamic Lux Black Edition with only 45000 miles
Unfortunately it’s already had a Turbo, timing chain, thermostat & housing. Timing cover. Seat belt (Airbag Warning Light), Front springs snapped, Remote Fob………
Can’t even sell it cos they’re worth chocolate buttons.
In the dealership more than it’s on our drive!
whoops and i had begun to like them after watching that
Yh, they're not on my wish list. By the sound, I wouldn't say you've been unlucky either...that's fairly typical of the breed.
I can beat that list with my 2017! 😂
i was going to buy one for my wife until i joined the owners club on facebook and I found out what i would potentially be letting myself in for .
@@davidtodd907 - I wish I had joined that before I bought mine. But, I have talked four of my friends out of buying them
Great entertainment and a great job 👍👍 Don't forget the AA Sticker 😁
Sold in 2021 for £21k, approximate value just over two years later at £12k. Textbook example of depreciation
And it isn't an electric car........
The guru at his best love videos
Hi matt, great job on the range rover, from marty in Belfast northern Ireland God bless
Good show and a profit to boot
The interior looks really nice. I like it 😊
My family bought a nicely speced one from a dealership 4 or 5 months ago, we have spent 3 grand in repairs……. They all still swear it’s the best car we have ever owned, the Range Rover effect is real. (I love still it too)
awesome video
Lovely job Matt 🚘🚙🚗👍👍👍⭐️⭐️⭐️👏👏👏
great video
I quite like the colour of this Evoke and the interior too; all in all, a good buy.
Check with LR if it has had the new software security update. 2016 onward are being recalled on a 'priority basis' (which I read as 'price basis') so your car will probably be quite low down the list.
I thought I had a heat shield rattle on my X351 XJ, thought it was a £10 fix. Turned out it was the supercharger nose cone spring return. Joy. £10 quickly turned into £1500.
I utterly love this channel
My dad used to own a 2012 RR Evoque prestige si4 (orkney grey with santorini black roof). I absolutely loved that car.. Options really make or break this car imo: adaptive dampers, automatic and a full leather interior can transform this car from a rebadged freelander to a proper mini Range Rover.
Nice clean motor n a fair price 👌
When you visit New Zealand, you can check out Kaikoura and the Kaikoura Stone from which the paint is made from 😁. The earthquake in 2016 lifted the foreshore up to 6 meters (20 Feet).
Still a calming colour and a good change from black. Triangle is still a good brand, have them on my city car, sub brand of Hankook. All depends on affordability.
After Mark McCann's recent video I'd be interested to hear your take on the whole keyless entry theft issue with high end vehicles and if you've been unfortunate enough to have any experience with that subject. That Evoque came up really nice.
It's not just the car that makes the channel It's the wit & humour that goes with it !!!😂🎉
Nice Evoque Matt!
I bought a 2013 one 3 years ago with only 32000 miles on it!
It had horrible mismatched tyres so I looked at Kwikfit and scored a set of 4 OEM Pirelli scorpions on sale at £99 each including mobile fitting at my house!
What a difference to the handling.
It’s now got 62000 on the clock and tyres are still in great nick!
Love mine!👍😊❤️
Hell of a deal on the tires!
I'd always rather buy a sound car with crap tyres and replace them myself with my choice of nice, sticky, expensive doughnuts.
Though the previous owner's choice of cheap tyres is a worry.
@@JonHerridge It sure was! I was stunned, have looked again just to be nosey but never been so cheap again!
@@twentyrothmans7308 Correct!👍
Matt loves Pirelli. He ought to be sponsored by them.
Ive got an XF jag in 'Vapour grey' very similar colour to that Evoque
I got rid of mine quick on the advice from the LR specialist. And I speak as an L322 owner... Nightmare Ingenium engine. Wait until you hear the £3k plus timing chain rattle amongst other engine problems, leaking windscreens, clutches that get stuck down for no apparent reason and sat nav/blue tooth units that have a mind of their own, if they work at all. Then I didn't like the way the turbo/engine doesn't work well with the clutch making it annoyingly easy to stall and frankly the thing inside isn't very special. Looks beautiful outside, but inside you may as well be in a Focus and it's a lot more expensive than a Focus and then the insurance company tells you how much it is too insure...
Does that Wonder Grip van ever move?? Great video as ever Matt 👍🏽🇬🇧
its had a leak and is stuck to the road
Matt, every respectable automotive youtube chanel or Landrover enthusiast MUST feature/own a P38! 😀😀😀 I have a 1996 4.0V8 with only 52000km.
Probably preaching to the choir but 2016 Evoque's also had the potential to have the dodgy steering rack that was held in by mild steel bolts that could snap off. Might be worth checking out.
The colour reminds me of the Limestone Grey as used on the Mk7 Golf R.
I had the alloys painted on my old 325ci in BMW 'Sepang Bronze' once.
Not a bad colour at all, reminds me of the Platinum Grey that you used to get the original Leon Cupra in.
*well* (pause) we're here
Please if you ever make any High Peak merch get this classic phrase on it😂
Just about to watch but would already say "you're brave"
Very nice spec on this, more of a ‘I’ve worked hard for this’ rather than ‘new build house with range on finance’
Its one of the most povvo spec’s even for back then. No sat nav? I worked for JLR and only saw one other car with no nav
Thankgoodness for "WONDERGRIP" looks like its stuck to the floor. Another great video.
Never knew these were Haldex. I assumed they were all Torsen full time AWD being a range rooney designed around off road capability. I suppose when being designed by Posh Spice, they went for looks over function. Great review as always. Still holding out for your advise on warranty work and how it impacts the dealers....still intrigued.
I love mine. I was reluctant to have one based on rumours. It's been a blast.
Very nice looking car.....hope you get what you want for it....😊
I've got a Jaguar XF same year as this Evoque and had fun noticing all the same parts they share.
What I want to know after watching most of your videos is did you manage to sell the car? And what price did you actually achieve in the end? I enjoy watching these! 👍
Matt ranting at the little picanto 😂Oh this car looks so nice. Hope it will be sold fast
Hi Matt
You seem very cheery, that's good to see.
Toasted bottom, burnt bum....the torments a car dealer endures!
This is a good month....n.e.c.
Later house renovation show
tickets free on the Thursday then Friday, Saturday, Sunday
classic car show I usually go Friday and Saturday.
Take a day off or two Matt and go.
Tony
Beautiful colour!! Matt why do you get your mechanic to sort out the tyres, he won't shop round for the best offers. Buying 4 you can get 25% off at some well known tyre shops. Sure your mechanic will charge you for his time swapping the tyres also.
Just a thought!
I've got those rims on my Freelander 2, with 265/60/18 Yokohama tyres. You can get standard size 235/55/18 Continental Cross Contacts for £122 a corner from Black Circles. Or original fit Pirelli Scorpion Verde for £130.
Nice colour. Well I like it anyway.
All 2016 Evoques have sat nav - except the poverty spec S model.
