Just ordered the brush guard and wings for my new L2502. I’ve been using the grapple a lot since it was delivered last week and I’ve had several limbs come close to the grill already. No damage yet but I was always taught that “it’s better to be safe than sorry”. I’ve watched a LOT of your videos and you do a great job of putting information out there for us. I’m pretty familiar with tractors but have still learned a great deal from you. Keep ‘‘em coming.
I'm mostly doing loader work in a wooded area so I quit around dusk. I did try the lights but it isn't really dark enough to tell. At least for what I'm doing, I didn't expect the headlights to work well enough even without the brush screen. Sorry I couldn't be much help. If I do get out there in the dark. I will update this.
I just bought a new grille guard that took me hours to make fit. Wish I had seen this. Just ordered a new grille meshfrom you guys after puncturing it with a stick. Got lucky and just had to bend the coolant mount back into shape.
I'd be more interested in something for the underbelly of the BX series to protect the hydrostatic cooling fan. That's a bear to replace and it's very vulnerable when riding over brush and branches. There are some aftermarket ones available but more options are always a good thing.
One would think with the expense of these modern tractors , the manufactures would incorporate a brush guard when sold new … Should be standard equipment!
I found this out by breaking my right headlight and grill on my L2501. I think I will need to pick up one. I have since had the light and grill replaced but will pick one up in the future.

Just called Messick's parts department to inquire about a guard for my B2650. Not seeing that model on the website. He is checking and getting back to me. Hopefully if it isn't available now it will be soon. Thanks

Using my grapple for the first time, I had a branch come up from under the tractor and knocked off 2 blades of the radiator fan. I was lucky the radiator was intact. Is there any protection recommended for that?
It’s not going to matter, those lights make crazy shadows anytime the loader is on anyway so if you’re much of a working after dark kinda guy, you are going to have lights on the rops or the fenders where they can actually be effective anyway.
Here is the link that will take you directly to the brush guards, then you can choose the one based on your model. www.messicks.com/part/department/brush-guards
@@purplesocks9745 This is an excellent point! Let's put a useless headlights on a tractor and charge for it, then we add a chunk of steel in front of them to completely f them up when we could have added ROPs lights to begin with and have a grill guard because it is really needed. Now for the rhetorical question - why would we do this if we can milk you forever?
Those sheet metal dents add character! Theyre battle scars- they show that your machine isnt just an expensive toy, lol. Now a stick through the grill- and into the radiator- is totally NOT cool... My dad dropped a tree on our farmall A. Knocked off the iar cleaner, and put a dent in the gas tank. Easy fix. The rippled sheet metal from the repair added character! That was a good woods tractor. Way more ground clearance than a sub or compact, and a lot more pulling power than it's 17 horses would suggest. Beyond bare bones, so there was little TO damage.
Great, yet Kubota can't fix that vulnerable hydrostatic fan that many people have destroyed, some more than once. Aftermarket has that taken care of...unfortunately Kubota don't seem to care about actually fixing vulnerabilities. Definitely a lot of stuff you can add, like a 3rd function kit, rear remotes, etc....except you have to have a dealership that actually wants your business, apparently my dealership doesn't, its been almost 2 months now still waiting for my salesman to actually order my 3rd function kit. I'm finding that the tractor is ok, the dealerships around me suck.
Just got back from Sacramento 4 tractors. Checked in with the front desk and then went out to look at the tractors. Those little backhoes are super cool but at 6'4" I'm just too tall for such cuteness. I saw the backhoe with the 14' hoe and I think that's the one for me. Shame all the salesmen were real busy. Since I was the only customer there I'm sure they were just too busy ignoring me. I'll be going up to Lincoln CA to see if I can't get the most secret information from them. (You know, the prices. Shhhh.)

More Importantly, please manufacture BX front axle guards. Boots and lines are getting damaged often by brush, etc. It's very needed. Thank you Neil

received one for my lx2610 this week. Nice touch adding the correct drill bit, Easy install.
Sharp drill bit makes all the difference
Got mine last week and installed it yesterday. Really like it. Very functional and a lot more reasonably priced than other offerings.
Does your lights shine through the guard ok?

This is great! both of my tractors L series have the grills caved in from tree branches, from pushing brush piles
Just ordered one for my L3560. Very cool look and good price! Thank you, Neil!
Do you mind me asking how much? I would like to get one for my L3560

Oh yeah!!! I have come so close to having serious damage with grappling large brush,. This is definitely on the shopping list!👍

Niel, i think a light kit that you unplug the useless headlights and run a wire up the rollbar and clamp on some lights to the rollbar would be good.
Just welded expanded metal on the front of my B2650 guard. I smacked a hole in the grill when a large tree stump shifted on my forks.
Just make your own

Left headlight for me on my L5460 LOL!
Can we order them without the Messicks symbol blazoned onto it?
adds a lot of cost to do them custom. Part of why these can be cheaper is the quantity we buy them in.
I didn't bust the headlines but I did somehow mange to tear up the kick stands for the the front loader.
I waited alot of years for this video. how can we order them up in Canada!.
Order on our website. They will email a shipping amount for confirmation

I’m wondering if a kubota m6s-111 would work for a farm stock pulling tractor?
More weight on the front axle!
Just kidding Neil, those look great!

For only $250 you can render your headlights useless. Brilliant!
Not to mention that the loader is in the way. Especially after dark. Like in mid summer, when it’s too hot to work during the day.
