They'd need a kitchen and desks and bookshelves, and internet as well as electricity and water hookups. Unless they find some land they can park it at close enough to school where they can walk or ride bikes to class, not sure how that would work. Not everyone has land that's flat and suitable for this. Still have to rent the RV space which is what they'd be looking at I think. With no kitchen I'm wondering how long it is, because the bedrooms are on either ends, but they don't even have a living room area downstairs, so maybe it's shorter length
Might be a better deal to leave it where it is, RENT it out as one of those Air B-n-B's so the family has extra income, and use that to help the girls with college expenses
Ok but why is a tiny house $67,000? It really bugs me that these houses were created to make having a home more accessible to people and yet they’re becoming the same price as a house but without land. (Not saying anything negative towards these people. They’re awesome. I’m talking about the tiny house community as a whole.) Edited: their to they’re* it was bugging me. Surprised no one pointed it out.
I think you need to take in account the labor put in for a well-made house. That’s probably why~ idk these tiny houses are getting bigger and bigger too though
It makes sense to me. A lot of tiny houses built lately have high end finishings, and also include appliances. Also, in my suburban area right now, a smaller houses are going for $160,000 and up, so paying a builder ~$60,000 to make exactly what you want without worrying about permits is far more achievable. Also it seems like more people are having tinies built for them these days, whereas before many people supplied their own labor.
I was thinking the same thing. 67k is not cheap. I remember when these first became popular, one if the positives was the cost. 10 -25k. Even at 67 this is out of my price range
I’ve been pitching this style of living to my kids for years. One property tax, one driveway to plow, one lawn to mow. Group garden. They think I want to live with them. Uh hell no. I remind them I’m way more fun and cheerful than They are. I just want a tiny house out in the back corner facing the other way and I’ll see them for breakfast on sundays. It’s just smart living. Especially considering the tough times ahead. Love the idea of adding tinies. Why not.
I've been pitching this to my siblings (and I'm the one without children). I'll give them a few years and I know they'll be pushing the idea like it was theirs 🙂
Me to. I keep pointing out it's how the rich do it. instead of everyone living on the breadline you all pitch your money and invest in the family and extended family and everyone wins financially.
Lol, trying to pitch the same idea to my parents and parents-in-laws. They can travel and live their best lives as retirees, and come home when they feel like it while we maintain their property. They can help with childcare, we can help as they get older, with medication, grocery shopping and chores.
I'm so drawn to the prospect of multigenerational living, homesteading, and tiny houses. I think they are both increasingly popular for the same reason. They are both very practical ways of creating a more stable, relaxed (or less tension/anxiety), responsive and responsible way of living. It's a way to live more self-sufficiently without placing the burden on one or two. Children learn skills, feel important to the family, take responsibility. Parents and grandparents contribute, teach, and are helped and supported by the rest of the family. It's very cool!!!
@@mayag8469 they said they kept running into zoning issues but overall the flexibility of it being able to be repurposed or moved with the girls once they’re off to college is the biggest benefit. I like so much about this - the country life, the "community" family, the use of space in the "tiny" addition, the multiracial family, the oldest's awesome jean's, ALL OF IT! Looks like a wonderful, peaceful, loving life.
Wow! I want to live there! Years ago we had all our kids with us and my sons added their wives and at that time my daughter sadly divorced and moved in with our first grandchild! It was a fun few years, we remember it fondly. Howeber we did not live on an awesome piece of land like them. This was wonderful and a tiny house for the girls was a great idea! Family togetherness is number 1.
This looks like a peaceful place and I am glad that the girls had an impact on how they wanted their rooms decorated. I have always thought of tiny homes as homes not just bedrooms with an attached bathroom. What a great idea
If only the Government would allow us to live within our means on our own land. I pray this day comes sooner than later. We really need a Government that is for the people.
Absolutely love this premise, 3 generations living together and involvement with the community. Really helpful idea to offer your goats for mental & physical health. Your daughter might like to join a choir, it would help extend her vocal range. She is so beautiful as is the entire family and land. Bravo : D
I’m just wondering why they never mentioned their son even one time. I realize the tiny house is where the girls sleep but I found his absence in the family narrative strange.
They didn't specifically mention the mother either. I guess it's just the focus wasn't on them for this content ❤️❤️ the father only got mentioned for building the shade and buying the land and the rest focused on the girls and the family as a whole. Nothing strange about it
Maybe they wanted to protect him. It's their choice how much they share, after all. I think everyone would agree that people shouldn't be pressured to share more than they would like to about their young children. And since it's a video about houses, not who's who in the family, it's really not required
He wasn't absent. They acknowledged that they have 3 kids and he was clearly present throughout the video including during the scenes were they talked about family while showing everyone together. They didn't mention him specifically, because the focus of the content is on the tiny house and its occupants.
This is so nice! I cannot stop smiling! The young lady who had the loft is so bright and intelligent! She was so articulate and confident while speaking! How cool! This is genius.
Smart intelligent decision, to give the youngers that progressive freedom they need, and get back the tiny house as retirement one when they will grew up. Smart money saving move, well done fam!
I want a room addition (a bath) and hope to build it on a skid that can take wheels should I need to move it and will park it on piers close enough to the Bedroom/laundry area it will serve that I can con-join them at the doorway! Yours is a perfect example to show folks what I am planning. You did Great! I saw a tiny that had a drawer system for changing out the bucket toilet every couple weeks without needing to walk it through the house! lol
I love all of ya comments and different opinions. My family and I are doing this whole thing this summer. I’m scared and happy at the same time. We definitely don’t have that kind of money to spend on one tiny home. So we are building our own. I pray I make my grandparents proud and create a homestead for my family. Thanks for the inspiration and for sharing with us.

@@dawnmuringer9286 That's great!! What state are you in?? By your description your home would be 700,000+ in California. I'm ready to move and do this with my family.
I agree! I think it's a great space and idea, but having a hard time seeing how it could cost $67,000. It's a simple build, no appliances or kitchen, minimal cabinetry, no fireplace, very few of the costlier materials seen in many tiny homes. Yes, lumber costs are up but still doesn't explain the price tag, in my opinion.
I love the ingenuity here! Just amazing & helpful on so many levels! If they are heading to college-they are learning responsibilities such as taking care of a “space”. It is still in Moms & Dads home -for many reasons such as safety. The kids are responsible taking care of their animals & now their own tiny home! If they move out for school for 4 yrs they can always return looking for their next “adventure” in the working world! It’s a great space for over flow-any time in one’s life! From children to in laws to grandchildren & beyond!
I love love love their way of living together. 💕 I love their closeness and the girls said they're never going to leave. That tells us how loved they feel living there and how much they enjoy their space.

Loved this video. 😊 What a brillant idea! The tiny house looks amazing next to the main house. Blends perfectly. So inspiring how this family spends time together by camp fires and has their meals together.
FANTASTIC!! This story warmed my heart and I can relate to a lot of it!! We live the multi generation way as well and we absolutely LOVE it!! It was due to my grandmother needing help after a major surgery (and she already lived with my parents) so after a very sad divorce me and my 2 young girls and our cats moved in to help out for awhile and we all fell in love with the idea and never left! Due to the Hugh layout of my parents split level home with an addition added on we all have our own rooms and bathrooms. The girls an I even have our own family room which helps us all be able to spread out when needed but still be close. It allowed my girls to grow up really getting to know not only their grandparents but also their great grandma (GG) learning all the family recipes and hearing all the stories of how they grew up and learning 1st hand all the values that shaped them into who they are today….and it really has given my girls a heart for the elderly. It started out as a move for multiple sad reasons but ended up being the best thing our family had ever done and none of us would ever dream of changing it. ♥️🏡
I want to see more families in the US do this type of thing. Saves tons of money and a great way to raise children! Thank you for this video! Much love ❤

This is how it should be. Definitely My kind of people, my kind of Lifestyle, my kind of caring and involvement.

I like so much about this - the country life, the "community" family, the use of space in the "tiny" addition, the multiracial family, the oldest's awesome jean's, ALL OF IT! Looks like a wonderful, peaceful, loving life.
That’s pretty awesome! I would’ve love to have that as a teenager
I love this whole set up! Love the house and animals and land
This is beautiful. The mom was spot on when she said “i think this is how families are supposed to live.”
This looks like a peaceful place and I am glad that the girls had an impact on how they wanted their rooms decorated. I have always thought of tiny homes as homes not just bedrooms with an attached bathroom. What a great idea
Love it this is what America needs to get back to. What a wonderful family great example of what a family values means.
Bravo : D
3 generations w a blk kid that they won't speak on. I guess he didn't want a room.
I’m just wondering why they never mentioned their son even one time. I realize the tiny house is where the girls sleep but I found his absence in the family narrative strange.
Maybe he asked not to be in it?
They didn't specifically mention the mother either. I guess it's just the focus wasn't on them for this content ❤️❤️ the father only got mentioned for building the shade and buying the land and the rest focused on the girls and the family as a whole. Nothing strange about it
Maybe they wanted to protect him. It's their choice how much they share, after all. I think everyone would agree that people shouldn't be pressured to share more than they would like to about their young children. And since it's a video about houses, not who's who in the family, it's really not required
Agreed
He wasn't absent. They acknowledged that they have 3 kids and he was clearly present throughout the video including during the scenes were they talked about family while showing everyone together. They didn't mention him specifically, because the focus of the content is on the tiny house and its occupants.
Nothing was said about the young male child. The place seems so nice. Just a thought.
Right what about the male child
I also waited throughout the whole video for someone to mention something about the “young male child” 😂😂😂
"young male child" ? You know that the word "boy" exists right ?
I saw a tiny that had a drawer system for changing out the bucket toilet every couple weeks without needing to walk it through the house! lol
That's a really brilliant option for adding space that remains versatile, as he stated at the end.
Hello Anne, hope you don't mind us being friends okay 🌹
the location, the site, the family, the tiny house are all beautiful....totally agree it is a good investment and can be an airbnb as well....
Love bunny town and your daughter's tiny bedroom home y'all have beautiful land to live on y'all are blessed.
Really great idea for a Tiny House, but I'm thinking the interior is a little sparse for the $67k price tag.
I agree abit expensive ..for 2 lofts and a bedroom and bathroom..my entire 1500 sq. House didnt even cost this much..and I've remodeled 2 xs now and ..I'm appraised at 85k..but I paid 22 k .15 yrs ago with 3 1/2 acres.
@@dawnmuringer9286 That's great!! What state are you in?? By your description your home would be 700,000+ in California. I'm ready to move and do this with my family.
Have you seen lumber costs lately?
@@dawnmuringer9286 Lol you know damn well location matters. Don’t be obtuse. Obviously the price of your home reflects the area you live in🙄
This gives these young ladies a great sense of responsibility and appreciation for their personal space.
We have three generations living on one plot of land. I love it this way
Peacefulness is a treasure! What a beautiful home and family you have. You are blessed!
What a wonderful way to bring up children to !earn responsibility and standing on their own! Kudos to them all!
Multi-generational community is a wonderful lifestyle :)
I love love love their way of living together. 💕 I love their closeness and the girls said they're never going to leave.
That tells us how loved they feel living there and how much they enjoy their space.
Truly a beautiful tiny home... and family! Had to click when I saw that title! Great idea. Editing to add after seeing more, that the property is also gorgeous! Definitely hard work that I'm not interested in doing personally, but I can appreciate it and think it's such a beautiful place. 💜
I love this family's idea! Kids that are able to grow up on a farm/in the country are the most fortunate!
Loved this video. 😊 What a brillant idea! The tiny house looks amazing next to the main house. Blends perfectly. So inspiring how this family spends time together by camp fires and has their meals together.
Hello Carolyn, hope you don't mind us being friends okay 🌹
I don't need to watch, right to comments. I wish we had tiny houses years ago, I think for sure my kids would each have their own. Awesome idea!!
Nailed it Jenna !! Your so right on ... Truly inspirational,. Thank you ...
This is incredible! Such a cool idea and design!
I want to see more families in the US do this type of thing. Saves tons of money and a great way to raise children! Thank you for this video! Much love ❤
Would have loved to see the main house 🏡
Why ????
The video was not about the main house ....
@@clarkclarke because I’m intrigued ❤️
I thought the same thing, but the main house is not a tiny house. So, it would not fit the show's theme.
@@MissTXTee makes sense 🙂
@@GreenLeaf.8159 If it makes you feel better, I was intrigued by the makeup of their family and how they all came to live as one big happy family! The family should consider a RUclips channel. I'd tune in FO SHO!
My mom and I are talking about building a tiny home on the property for my grandma to come live on. I found plans for one that would be absolutely perfect for her with some modifications. We live in different states so it would be great.
If it weren’t for this channel and channels like this about tiny houses I wouldn’t have had the idea to build her a tiny house. Hopefully it can become a reality in the next couple years for her and her two cats.
What a great family 👪
That should be a movie called, "It's A Wonderful Life" pt.2 !!! What a joy it would be for children across America to learn these life skills and be nurtured in such a way. Great family, and many blessings to them & their well thought tiny home.
Hi Jenna Thank you for sharing their story. We think what they did is absolutely cool. The 2 girls have their own space. Which is nice
❤
This is one my MOST favorite episodes ❤! This is what I would have loved for my family. It was precious to see them pray 🙏🏼 as a family! The family that pays together stays together! The tiny house is now fluid part of their family, like the girls taking it to college!
What a wonderful family
What a fantastic idea! I was in 4-H for Poultry as well, all the way to National Congress. What happy healthy birds you have!
What a great idea and lovely tiny house.
Nice of them to include the neighbor’s kid in the video.
What a lovely place they have
Hello janey, how are you doing?
What a great idea! I always tell my brother that I am going to build a tiny home on his property. I like the way it is attached to the main house separate for privacy but together for safety.
Love love love thisss family Dynamics beautiful home.🙏🙌🙌🙌
Wow❣️❣️ what a lovely family environment to have three generations together where you are able to interact, share your meals, enjoy the animals not only within your own family but with your community… That was a wonderful idea with the goats during Covid; having Pond for the kids to Rosa boats down or just play in the water is an added bonus and the girls having your own space and it was beautifully designed by the way… I am an interior designer and I love the layout and the details and especially the thoughtfulness having her grandmothers picture there for inspiration… What an Honor❣️❣️ truly thank you have a very blessed family and location and I love it that you’re thinking about the future options with your tiny house. Congratulations and thank you for sharing❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️❣️
67 thousand without a kitchen? I know they didn't need it, but that's still too high.
Every video of your homes makes me smile throughout the tours, and this one is my favorite! What a beautiful family, tiny bedroom addition, farm and life they have. The girls did such a beautiful job decorating their space, I think they already qualify as Interior Decorator's and could definitely decorate my home, too! Great job, ladies and much love, health and joy to your family and your farm! ❤️❤️
While it was a beautiful video about family, it really bothered me that only one member of the immediate family was not acknowledged at all. Seen but not heard at all. That was strange and uncomfortable for me
This is a wonderful idea instead of moving. Those girls must be so happy.
What a beautiful place too live .thanks for sharing this 👍🥰
Beautiful story, homes, and family. God bless.
What a nice farmette! I would've love to raise my son in such an environment!
Omg I can’t wait this is exactly what I want for my family ! My mom , bestfriends , kids and sister and I will be purchasing our first piece of property and I’m so excited !!!
