This is a good book. Does provide a step by step introduction to how to build things ruclips.net/user/postUgkxhgbP-6hUnXu_QRaoHgLztgsI0YF3HqR0 , also does offer some steps. Includes pictures to give you ideas for layouts and such. If you are looking for a guide, this is not exactly what you want. But if you are trying to familiarize yourself with the way that pole barn building and other out buildings, are made, then this will work just as you need it to. A few things in this book are a barn (of course), detached garage, storage building, and coops.

This is a high-end Tiny House and I LOVE IT! Also, I think it's important to include ALL types of Tiny Homes on my channel. A few weeks ago, I published a tour of a Tiny House built for $25,000 with reclaimed materials. There is a huge spectrum for these houses, and it has nothing to do with size (they are all tiny). Instead, each house is unique for different needs, wants, and income levels. That's what makes this movement so special. In my opinion, showcasing Tiny Homes with different price tags proves that: 1). Tiny Houses can't be measured by cost per square foot, 2). You get what you pay for, and 3). Each Tiny House truly matches its owner. Don't make jealous comments if you can't afford a $125k house! You can build a Tiny for much less. Remember, there's no trophy for who can live in the most frugal Tiny House. If there was, I wouldn't want to win it!

@@CrosswaIk incorrect. People used to say this about my Tiny House when I was pulling it with a Ford 250. It annoyed me so much that I had an environmental engineer do an analysis to educate people who makes blind comments without research. I have the engineer all my stats, and he compared my lifestyle to that of the average American household. Even with towing my house 25,000 miles in one year, I was using less than 25% of the carbon a typical household uses in the USA. This house is larger and heavier than mine, but it still would not even compare. To understand why, you have to also include the amount of gas a typical working couple spends going to and from work, every day, with two cars. This couple works from home, and when they do drive during the day, they use an electric vehicle. Yes they move their house on occasion with a semi truck, but 7 mpg is also what the average Class A RV gets. Heck, I even got 9mpg with my 10,000 lb Tiny House and truck! You must also calculate their electricity (solar), water usage (heavily reduced with the compost toilet), reduced heating and cooling. I'm telling you, it doesn't even compare to the average household in the USA (which is alarming), let alone the 5,000 sq foot house they lived in before.

Tiny House Giant Journey thanks for this response. I get so tired of people judging and complaining about what others have. Living tiny doesn’t mean living poorly. I’m renting a 700 sq ft condo that I would never be able to afford at over $800,000. I could buy a custom tiny 10x38ft, loaded for $150,000. All the same amenities and finishes in a smaller footprint but a smaller price per square foot. A 300 sq ft condo where I live starts at about $519,000. Thanks again for your great videos. Have a great weekend.

This thing is amazing! Some of their design ideas are absolutely BRILLIANT. The luxury aspect is a bit much for me, but it is clear these folks are super happy with what they built themselves(!) and considering they were living in 5,000 square feet...it's amazing they even thought they could downsize their physical space like this. Another thing about this to consider: A couple like this, who were using so much before, has a bigger impact on the environment when they switch to a tiny lifestyle. It may go against the grain for some in the community to welcome "rich people" in, but if folks are serious about the tiny movement helping the planet, you gotta get the biggest consumers involved too.

Whoa. Lightweight, but not the most durable of substances, but since it is just the two of them and if they are careful, it should be okay. I bet the shine is incredible. I've seen the decking stored under the frame before and it is one of my favorite aspects. It is not often you see a tiny rigged to be a "party house" complete with mini-wine cellar and pizza oven! A toilet room! This is the first I’ve seen in a tiny home and a must on my list. Love it. The tile, entertaining areas, everything is perfection.

What a gorgeous home. The fact that you built it yourselves is amazing and impressive!

Believe me, they didn't build it.

I'm sure by "built it themselves" really means they told someone what they wanted and that person built it. Maybe should of said designed it ourselves

@@bajiraosingham9495 Actually! Sketchup is a free great entry to designing your own stuff, being a small trinket for a 3d printer or something like this.

First off, he says in the video that a lot of the stuff was thought up by his wife.
Secondly, these aren't new ideas. There's a lot of workshops you can take that teach you this stuff. He even said he took one.

That beautiful spiral staircase is so obviously a great idea for a tiny house that I wonder why I have not seen another one in any of the many youtube videos that I have watched. Truly unique. Cheers!
