Yes. This is the kind of truck you get if you're planning to use it like a truck. Simple, tough interior that will actually get dirty but is easy to clean.
Absolutely LOVE my 2023 Colorado TrailBoss! Ordered and waited 4 months for it. I ended up getting one of the first in NJ and am currently at 4,000 miles. GM put an unbelievable amount of effort into making this a solid, well thought-out little truck. The GM High Output tune for $400 gets you 430 ft. Lbs of tq and is absolutely worth the extra cost!
@sblagg527 not so sure what you're talking about, but the 2.7 has been serving well in the full size Silverado for 4-5 yrs now, and theres quite a few of them nearing 200,000 mi. They have been largely well received by most owners and have proven to be as reliable as any other engine from any other manufacturer currently offered in a full-size pickup. The Colorado weighs nearly 2,000 lbs less than the Silverado, and the 2.7 has had some significant upgrades for the Colorado. You sound uniformed, and bitter.
@@shawnsimmons8268 LOL!!!!!!!! I'M uninformed? I miss the small trucks like we could get in the 80s, ie Toyota pickup, or S10. I had both actually. The Toyota was my fave. They were just a simple little truck to haul crap in, had great fuel mileage, and you could park them easily anywhere.
it really sucks that they seem to only get bigger. and even worse you could slap a v8 in an s10, but these fat cows only have a 4 banger in them. sure theyre more power but thats a higher stress. but the tow ratings on these are really useful, big enough to do basic towing easily even if it cant pull a bus
Blame the foolish government for the missing small trucks. The fuel economy standards are calculated based upon the overall size of the truck. A big hulking truck that gets 16 MPG is okay, but your little pickup that was easy to park and got 26 MPG was too much of a gas hog for its size according to the government. So, we forced people into buying bigger trucks that got worse gas mileage. Stupid, stupid, stupid.

I've had a brand new Z71 for about 6 weeks now and I couldn't be more pleased. We took it on a 4 state road trip (1,700 miles) and it was surprisingly quiet and comfortable. And the highway MPG was better than the EPA rating. We got 24 to 28 MPG on the trip, including two 10,000 foot passes in Colorado. Zero problems so far. Haven't had it off road yet but that will be coming in the next couple of weeks.
Great review as always Sarah! I have the twin to this, the GMC Canyon AT4. It has the same 2-inch lift but with the high output engine as standard and a much upgraded interior. I love how capable it has proven itself on the trails near Las Vegas. This is my first American vehicle in a very long time and I'm loving it so far.

Biggest downside to the "Trail Boss" (for both the Colorado and the Silverado) is the G80. Its a mechanical "automatic" locker that only locks if one tire spins a lot faster than the other (it uses weights that swing out to lock, been in use since the 70s). And then there is this violent transfer of power that is known for breaking axles. A electronic diff is so much easier to control and just all around better. But otherwise, these trucks are a great improvement over the previous gen.
Ahh the ol gernade er, gov lok. The gov lok was okay in the 14 bolt rear end but in the lighter stuff it earned the gernade lok moniker... I'd take a properly preloaded clutch posi over it any day.
That happens when people don’t service their diffs. Mine does not have issues engaging. You’d get a nice thump and you don’t have to have a ton of difference in wheel speed. Just more than the difference going around corners under about 15-20 miles per hour. When the diff doesn’t get serviced the oil turns to sludge and that makes everything work like crap. The old gov-loc is one of the better designs. There are only four to chose from and one requires you to drag your brakes to make it work. I agree electric are nice, when they work. There are a lot more possible failure points and they fail pretty regularly. Mostly due to electrical issues. That’s my experience and why I would prefer the old gov-loc over the electrics.
@@sblagg527 Active cylinder managemet. Towed way more trucks with engines down than lockers. If the Active cylinder management has issues the engine will go into limp mode and you have to send it to the shop to fix it right away. The diff locker on the other hand usually fails open, even if it fails locked you can still drive the thing. Axles are at risk, but you can still drive them.
I agree with you, Sarah n Tuned about an actual stick shift. I wish for them to return. I personally prefer the 5 speed. Great review as always, probably just a simple slip of the tongue but the Eaton G80 isn’t an electronic locking differential, it’s automatic locking. Works on inertial weight principle.

I own a 23 Tacoma TRD Sport 4x4 Premium (sunroof, leather etc) V6 and it's rated and gets better mileage than this 2.7 4 banger. Traded an 18 same truck just to get the last year V6, and my trade was about 2,000 less than what I paid in 2018. I really like the styling of these new Colorado's and Canyons a lot but I'm just belive that a V6 will be more durable> Another great review Sarah, love the channel and looking eorward to your videos!
Yeah I'm with you. Bought my son a new 2017 Tacoma that has 123k trouble free miles- and now my daughter wants a truck as well. May just get a 23 Tacoma given how our 2017 has behaved. Not crazy about these small turbos for longevity.
@@SarahnTuned pretty cool hybrid. I look forward to it.. Somebody should get you a Hemi-Wrangler to test... that thing is absolutely nuts :) Cheers neighbor.
I drove a new Colorado a couple times and I really liked it. My ONLY question, since growing to distrust all things GMC, is if I bought a Tacoma and a Colorado and drove them both the same over 15 years, would they both still be running and which would need fewer repairs? Is it worth buying a Chevy these days? I switched to Honda and Toyota and never looked back. With the 2024 Taco coming I'm in the market for a new truck soon, and I'm genuinely curious you'd buy.

Great job Sarah love your pointer hand stick thingy gadjet 👍
Likely the BEST off road reviewer evah! Love the hilarity 🤣 K.O.H. Miss Sarah🤞
I particular like the stophing on this truck.
Thank you Sarah!
And i like that Chevy colorado😊
That’s the perfect truck for you to use those beautiful size 8’s to do some sandal pedal pumping.
Not drunk Just distracted!
Yeah I'm with you. Bought my son a new 2017 Tacoma that has 123k trouble free miles- and now my daughter wants a truck as well. May just get a 23 Tacoma given how our 2017 has behaved. Not crazy about these small turbos for longevity.
This has 125lbs of torque more than your Tacoma, of course it gets worse mpgs
17:46 bless your heart
I'm biased in this class. I love the Rubicon Gladiator with the manual. Amazing vehicle.
I have a Rubicon 4xe this week
@@SarahnTuned pretty cool hybrid. I look forward to it.. Somebody should get you a Hemi-Wrangler to test... that thing is absolutely nuts :) Cheers neighbor.
any idea if they fixed the battery issue yet?
No way all controls thru screen…what happens when it goes out?
Loved your review, thorough, complete and quirky with a bit of Sean Connery ! Also, you and Simone Giertz sisters from a different mother ?
I'm a fan of that foam finger pointer.
@TelllgramSarah_n_Tuned1.. it's scary when you bite it.
Sarah, Cli t would have been proud of your music selection..😂😂😂❤❤👏👏👏🫶🇳🇿🙏
Sean Connery bit was fantastic :)
Aluminum is the proper pronunciation. Aluminium is a word coined by some grifters trying to steal credit for someone else's work. I like that interior:)
How have you not done the Colorado zr2 vid?? Only say this because I love and trust your videos so much!
Thank you for making these videos.
@TelllgramSarah_n_Tuned1.. I don't know weather im in trouble or not🤣🤣🤣🤣
Shame we don't get trucks like this 😕
I'm binging 5 years of these videos; just found your channel a few weeks ago. Amazing content. Going to be sad when I'm caught up and waiting for next vid.
Not a TB, but i fkn LOVE my ZR1. Thing moves out
Thanks Sarah! 🌻🐧
The size difference between the Colorado and the old S-10 is wild
Affordable? Doesn't have fog lights and cruise is an option for $43k? No thanks. Your reviews are the best on here. Can't wait to see your other midsized truck reviews! 😁
@TelllgramSarah_n_Tuned1.. I love your reviews though! You should do more more often. You're very in depth, the others lack that. Plus your personality make them fun. 😁
The geek truck all tech no protection. Lol😂. Great review as always, some tweaks and Chevy could dial that truck in. Need to protect the undercarriage if your going to have a name like boss!
"Rage vomit"....Car and Driver never had that category in their interior reviews hahhahaha, well played madam!!
I love watching your reviews, you’re absolutely awesome 😎
Great Review Sarah! I loved every minute of your review and the way Colorado seriously surprised you! I hope you will be able to review an R71 with all the bells and whistles, which is what I'm waiting for myself. Great Job!
