- This video will show you how to tie a Slab Crappie Hyperactive Minnow. As its name suggests, it is hard to keep this fly still.
Just like some of my flies, it is very simple and easy to tie. Only 6 materials(except glues) are needed to tie this, including a hook.
Depending on how deep and how fast you retrieve a fly, it is up to you to choose how much weight you put on this fly.
Enjoy!
Finally one sane person with truly good, nice, not irritating music!
The flies are fantastic! Truly handmade in US! Impressive, is not even enough of a word
Thanks!
Thsnk you very much. It is very good idea.
Excellent job, you have taken fly tying to an art form.
Watching from Ireland great video nan

I wished my kiddos and I could use some of your awesome baits. I have three kiddos and they love to fish but a while back all of there fishing stuff alone with mine got stolen. I wished I was as awesome and as talented as you are making baits my kiddos would never want for any baits but I'm not and they don't have much. Sir you are a true artist keep it up and keep sharing thanks for all you do. Till next's trip GodBless and Tight Lines.
I saw a trout minnow fly tied with eggstacy chenille awhile back. This pattern would probably be good with eggstacy as well.
Should use a thread burner (zapper) instead of a lighter, can get a lot more precise with it.
I love it! I’m making me one of those! Or a few... lol 😊😊😊
Thanks!
As usual, nicely done
Thanks!
Very impressive! Keep up the good work!!!
Thanks!
Bravo, complimenti .....sono molto belli e originali....un saluto:)
Thanks for watching!
Very creative tie. It easy to imagine a larger size for bass. I saw that large sheet of eyes. Where do you find those eyes in a bulk sheets like that?
Ok, totally different and I love it !!
Thanks!
I gotta get me some curved scissors like that.
That was incredible to watch. Excellent job!! I could never make something like that. (Don't have the dexterity)

Dude, great tie! Fellow Arkansan myself. Question - do you you use a sink tip or sinking line for crappie?
It depends on where fish are. I usually use floating line and sink tip line. Thanks for watching!
You are amazing
Thanks for watching!
That would be a killer pink salmon fly...
Thanks for watching!
This pattern is a sub-surface pattern, yes?
Yes. Thanks for watching!
After listening to that music I can't make my mind up if I want to cut my own wrist or take a long elevator ride !
Too funny! Thanks for watching!!
Hi, where can i get those scissors from? The curved once you are using. Cheers
Just google "Dr Slick All Purpose 4 inch Curved Scissors" and you'll have several places to buy from. Thanks for watching!
What kind of foam is that you’re using? Does it have a smooth surface?
I bought these foam sheets from a local Wal-Mart. It’s just plain craft foam sheets. Thanks for watching!
Awesome
Thanks!
How long is the foam you use for the head ? Half in or so? And also thickness ? Great video
A piece of 3/4" long x 3/8" wide and fold that over in half. I used 2 mm foam sheet in this video. Thanks for watching!
@@arkansasfishingadventures777 thank ypu for the reply! Glad ibfound ypur channel
I would lose it while crappie fishing in the creek
Excellent fly!!! Doing some this weekend. Can you please tell me the thickness of the foam please
The thickness is 2 mm . Thanks for watching!
Thank you!!! Keep the videos coming!!!!
Where does one get the curved scissors that you use.
I was using Dr. Slick 4" Curved All Purpose Scissors in this video.
😲👍👍👍
Ya ever fish lake Conway?
how does that fly ride in the water ? it's weighted and.....has foam . so does it sink or float more ? how do you fish it ? I tie flies so always trying new things myself , I have some worm flies similar to these but longer with a weighted head and a foam tail .....so I gig it on the bottom as the tip of tail floats up and shakes.... and the head of fly is down ....ok thanks for the tie 👍😁
You can change the amount of the weight or even no weight if you want to fish on the surface. If you follow exactly the way I tied in this video, these flies sink pretty fast. If you strip and pause these flies, you'll see life-like movements in the water. Thanks for watching!
How big can one go on the foam head
You just have to play with it. It's all about the balance. Thanks for watching!
What vise are using ?
I use a Regal vise. Thank you for watching!
