  • Crappie Mighty Mini Minnow is a fly jig that is weighted and can be used under an indicator or as a streamer. Its length is only 1.5 inch or so and snag-free design, so fishing in brush piles is no problem!
The bottom of this fly is lighter color and the color variations are all
    up to your choice.
    Thanks for watching and enjoy!

Great ATD. Not totally toss up regarding weed guard vs hookup, resin secures eyes. Opossum Zonker looks perfect for this jig...crappie candy; thanks!

You sir, are an AMAZING fly tyer/designer. Crappie flies may not get the attention steelhead or huge articulated streamers. However, speaking as an avid fisherman on an EXTREMELY tight budget, bass, bluegill, and most of all crappie are what I fish for. Thank you for sharing your ideas. I can't wait to see what you come up with next!

Looks great! I'll be tying some soon! BTW, I have a tip. The plastic coated stainless wire you used for the weed guard is readily available at craft stores in the jewelry department. You'll find it sold as beading or jewelry wire. The brand might be Beadalon or Accuflex or maybe Darice. Buy the *7-strand wire*. It Will kink like you demonstrated, but the 49-strand won't.

Nice design. I like the technique with the black chenille to have a loop end on it and bring it around.

Beautiful crappie jig except that weed guard is a bit too big and may cause more misses than hookups. Really enjoy your videos, and have learned a lot of different techniques from them. Thanks for going to the trouble to make them.

Would marabou work instead of the zonker? Also can you just use one chenille and just color the top with a sharpie so it can be done faster?

You can try with marabou but the tail might wrap around the hook since it is very soft material. I'm sure you can simplify with just one chenille. Thanks for watching!

I appreciated the double color technique on the body of the jig. I will be applying that method to my crappie jigs as well. Is there a way to send a email or contact you on social media method? I have some zonkers and dubbing made from my silver fox rabbits I raise. I wondered if you could use them in fly tying.
