This was very helpful, why? Because I read the instructions first 🤔. Step 2 literally says "Remove the mower deck from the machine." "Turn the mower deck upside down." Say what?! That's why I ended up here. You briefly spoke of the instructions and I thought you were going to comment on that but you didn't. Just glad I don't need to do all that. Oh, I also needed to verify what the mulching blade looked like since the ones I received look nothing like the mulching blades I've come to know. Thanks for your help. 👍
The toro recycling blades look like regular blades unfortunately but they do work. However get you some gator blades if you really want to pulverize some stuff.
@@D-MAN107. That sounds like something I'd want to do because I get a lot of small branches and leaves. Hopefully they provide more lift as the existing blades can't pick up as much as I'd like them to.
Thank you! I installed the mulching kit last night, fired up the mower and it made a horrible noise. Unless I missed it in the instructions that came with the kit, I had to baffle on the inside of the deck, and could not get one of the bolts to line up. After seeing your installation, I move the baffle to the outside, and now things are working as they should. I need to watch these videos before I do the work.
Bought this for a Titan. I have zoysia . It works great. Works better than I expected. Before I installed it, I had to blow the clippings around to disperse them. It chops the grass up real fine. Kind if expensive but saves a lot of work.
Just had my Time cutter delivered yesterday. I purchased a couple accessories which included the bagger and hour timer. Wish I look at your video first since I prefer to mulch than bag but got the bag for leaves. Unfortunately there is no way to mulch the leaves then bag it to avoid having to stop and empty the bags a hundred times.
After installing the mulching kit, it should be OK to remove the discharge chute as well, correct? To lessen the width of the machine for tighter places.
My 2010 42in toro allowed bagging with mulch kit installed… wish new model did so as it was great for mulching leaves and bagging at the same time which allowed for much more chopped leaves per bag. Will be picking up a new toro 42 myride soon. Maybe I’ll remove mulch kit in fall but leave mulch blades on. Maybe try gator blades too. Comments welcome.I
It's unfortunate that the mulch kit isn't something that you can easily put on or take off when conditions of the lawn would not be ideal for mulching, such as in the early Spring when grass tends to be more moisture-rich than in the Summer.
So, after a year now, do you still have the recycle kit on your mower? Once you install this kit on the fabricated deck, you can no longer side discharge or add a bagger kit without removing everything you are installing here. It makes the mower pretty inflexible as far as using other discharge options without some labor. (something you wouldn't want to do very often, I'm guessing). Did the deck stay fairly clean or did it pack up when the grass was lush or moist?
When installing the blades, would I need to torque wrench to tignten the blades? If so what is the torque setting? I notice you did not use a torque wrench.
Fully seated stripped then snapped. That should do you. LOL Google torque specs for the specific diameter of the bolt. These look like 1/2" or larger. You are welcome.
I plan to buy a Timecutter soon. If I'm only using for my own lawn do you recommend the fabricated deck or is the stamped deck good enough? Also, which deck is better for mulching? (with appropriate recycle kit, of course!)
Thanks for stopping by the channel I hope this video helps you out also don't forget to subscribe to the channel for more helpful videos.
I just purchased a Toro and got the mulch kit separately. Your video showed me exactly how to install it.
For the 34” bull model 75734

Buying the zero Toro next week after watching the video , I’ll probably get the mulch kit.👍 very good information Cheers

Best video out there.
However I wish I could see you mowing a lawn with and without the mulch kit
Just to see the difference
Great job explaining all the pertinent information .
Glad it was helpful!
Great video! Enjoyed watching it! I have one on my Toro Timecutter 54"
BAM! Subscribed. Not my Toro ZTR TimeCutter model mulch baffle kit but enjoyed the presentation.
Awesome thanks💪

Mulching is nice just have to stay on top of it and not let it get to tall.
They do make one for the stamped deck. About 1/2 the price.
Nevermind.... Super tight but got them undone to remove cover
Great video. Do you know what the model number is for this kit?
Do they make a chute blocker for the timecutter? I think a normal one wouldn’t fit because the blades are exposed.
After installing the mulching kit, it should be OK to remove the discharge chute as well, correct? To lessen the width of the machine for tighter places.
Yes
Any idea how to remove the seat cover once I take the seat off to attempt to get the safety switch for the seat out!?
What is the part number for this system? Please🙏
Great presentation! Thank you.
Thanks
Where did you get the lift ?
I would add that you should be careful when working under a raised deck. If it falls it becomes a dangerous piece of sheet metal against your arm.
Ouch lol

I just purchased the mulching kit for my toro. The blades look dull not like sharpened. Do I need to sharpen before putting on the mower? Thanks
No need thats how all blades come.
What about removing the discharge cover you no longer need?
You can.
Whit the recycler on , can i remove the deflector to gain space ?
Yes
What year is the mower ?
Need to know where I can buy that type of mulcher kit
Local dealer or online
Thank you so much for your kind, by replying 🙏
Twisted off the top center bolt. I have a 34" deck Toro zero turn. Is this a danger? Do I need to get another kit?
did you put yours on yet it seems you need two people

Never cut wet grass and your ok
@@D-MAN107 Sometimes where I live that is just not an option.
Also is your steering tight? Like stewing seems really tight and idk if it’s just toro or what. I just purchased it a day ago
I'm 62 and I still chuckled when he said " I've got to tighten up my nuts "
🤣

Impact gun is fine just a few ugga duggas
Think toro is a little more spec it than that. They do recommend that torque wrench be used.
Fully seated stripped then snapped. That should do you. LOL

Would you recommend the mulch kit ? Is it really worth it ??
If you don't want to bag it's great just have to mow weekly for best results
I plan to buy a Timecutter soon. If I'm only using for my own lawn do you recommend the fabricated deck or is the stamped deck good enough? Also, which deck is better for mulching? (with appropriate recycle kit, of course!)
The fabricated deck is much better the steel deck rots out fast unless you keep it clean
Beware not to buy the one with
" my ride" sit
You'll pay $1000 more for that comfortable sit
@@D-MAN107 Exactly, also do not use the hose hook-up to flush the underside of the deck. That will lead to bearings going out much faster.
@@mytre814 Well worth it and the deck is not stamped but fabricated. You get what you pay for.
🔥🔥
Where did you get this kit from?
Can order online or any authorized Toro dealer can order it for you,
Do you think it fits on a timecutters stamped deck?
Different recycle kit from the one shown here but yes there is one available. Should cost a bit less too.
No torque the blades?
Nope just pretty tight😉
