I'm new in this industry, and I love to learn new things. A mulch kit was recommended, and I wanted a video to explain what it was, and to actually see a video of it in action. This was great information. Thank you, sir!

    Yeah man! Good content. 👍
You will absolutely love that mulching kit. We run 2 mowers with the mulching kits and the others discharge for open properties or grass that is too high for mulching without repeated passes.
Shout out to Steven and all of his staff at Andy's Lawn Machinery in Savannah. They are hands down the best in the area for sales and service. 👍💯
Waiting for the follow up video.😃

@@Bluegrass-Lawncare-LLC Let me ask you this, how different are different brand zero turns on hills, wet damp grass ect..? I have a Husqvarna, but always wondered how different a Toro, Bad Boy, Ariens and so on differ.

Makes perfect sense on how he described how mulching works effectively. I own a JD S100 lawn tractor and I've used the 3-1 blades with the mulch plug, and I didn't mulch effectively. So I'm needling to purchase either some ridged or gator style mulching blades with the actual mulching kit insert.

The lawns I cut tend to be 4.25" to 4.5" when I get to them. Lots of deep thick heavy Fescue and Bluegrass, some Ryegrass.
I have one 54'' deck with a mulch kit and wavey blades. It works best with a deck height of 3.75" to 4"
I have another with 54" deck with Gator mulching blades and chute block . It works when I need to cut at 3.25" to 3.5".
    Both are mulching very well.

Great stuff Johnny! We used mulch kits with baffles for years. We have recently adapted to seasonal mulching, mainly in the fall and winter for leaves. We side discharge with a selectable chute block in the summer months as of now. You should try those wavy style mulching blades in a side discharge application. I've learned they perform great and we use that style mulching blade all year regardless if it has baffles or not.

Great video man! My first ZT came with a mulch kit but I had so many issues with it that I ripped it out and just left the chute blocker on which did a good enough job for our lawns. Now I have the OCD on my Grandstand and Atomic mulching blades, which when combined with the X blade adapters from Ballard and a Hi lift blade produces an awesome mulch finish. Still need to get a proper plate made though as the OCD doesn't block everything as I'm sure you found with yours

Have mulch kit with hi-flo blades on 60" Timecutter HD works great, chops leaves in fall well , after every use its best to clean deck , If lawn is wet it can clog and stall you may have to cut at a higher level or cut more often. The cut is great but it has its limitations in heavy well watered lawns.

I bought a mulching kit from toro for a Toro proline 48. it came with all the baffles and mulching blades and discharge blocking plate. question: it came with kickers that are angles pieces of metal. The problem is it requires drilling holes in my deck to install them which I am not a fan. Do I need them or can I get away with not installing them. Excellent video and you guys look extremely professional
