Not sure I'd consider it something from the future. I saw my first one a few days ago and it looked like someone drove it off of the set of a 1950's sci-fi movie.

They’re huge in college sports (and now motorsports!). They hit me up to partner with the channel when they launched their NASCAR and IndyCar lines this year - I was just at their HQ last week!

Thanks for watching and being so kind! I actually did the narrative intentionally, and considered putting all the missed promises in there (instead of just a few examples, like I did). I've seen the Cybertruck videos out there and know a lot of the missed promises have been covered to death. Also, it's very common for Tesla to miss promises, like the windows in the debut! If I did all the missed promises, the video would've been 50 minutes, and I felt it was best to focus on features and driving dynamics (with a few missed promises added in) in order to differentiate from what people have seen already. It was a conscious decision, and I think it was the right one - there's so much back and forth with the missed promises that the pace of the video would have droned on with all of them, and I don't know that it would've added enough to justify for that

I watched the Lexus IS 500 review recently and thought “I really hope Alanis reviews the Cybertruck soon” and voila! What an incredible review this was. I will say I have heard conflicting info about the crumple zones, in some of the engineering interviews they showed the front gigacasting and pointed out where the crush cans would mount, also the front gigacasting itself is designed to crumple predictably in a way to absorb the energy from a crash, very interested to see independent crash testing for Cybertruck in the future though. Anyways, fantastic review!
A Great honest review and video! I can’t imagine, even attempting a parking deck in this vehicle. Can’t imagine having an accident, with another regular sized vehicle. This is truck going to really hurt some people. Technology is great, but it’s definitely not for me.
Another superb review, loved the insights on both the pros and the cons of the Cybertruck. Hopefully Tesla sends you a Roadster for review when it finally comes out.
Awesome truck! It has about 100 features that no other vehicles have, would have been cool to list them on the screen. Also this truck cant be stolen if you use the pin code feature, and comes standard eith lojack, you can see the location at all times using the phone app. Totally theft proof, and mostly bullet proof. Also has a wade mode and double locking diffs. The steering has a comfort mode which makes it feel lighter, and you probably had it in chill mode vs standard mode, hence the heavy feeling pedal. You glossed over that the rear screen can play Netflix on RUclips, and video games with Bluetooth controllers. And the amazing sound system is better than any vehicle ever made, including Bentley and Bhughatti. Overall, I think it was a fair review.
Thanks for watching! Can’t mention everything - if I did, the review would be an hour! It’s a balance of discussing important things without going deep into the stuff that’s been discussed so much people will click away
That’s fair! It was a very quick filming session - husband was very ill from the heat and we had to move fast - so all I can do is my best with the time I have
Finally saw one out in the wild in my little backwater burgh. I don’t care for it or the dude responsible, but I can’t deny that it draws the eye. I’ve seen a couple Rivians, but they don’t look remarkable unless you see them from the front.
Haha yesss! There’s one that Tesla is showing off in at shows here in Europe (it’s currently at the Viva Tech conference in Paris which Elon also just spoke at), even though it’ll never be sold here officially. I want to drive one around Amsterdam streets just to see what it looks like and how people react! When I drove my Mercury grand Marquis around Amsterdam, people’s heads would always turn, can you imagine a Cybertruck?! 😆
Please, please don't change your format of reviews: Mentioning the experience of stadium seating; the non-circular wheel working great as the turn ratio is so short; steering wheel weight; feeling so normal on the inside until you become of the spatial awareness; feeling nervous about making a mistake in it. THIS is what sets you apart from all the other reviews who throw emotionless g-force numbers and provide predictable feedback.
Awwwww thank you! We won't (aside from the occasional quick "five things" reviews, which we do when we have less time to film the car). We love this format. We're so glad you do too
@@AlanisKing just wanted to say I love the videos.. 🙏🏽 I been binge watching them all… you deserve way more followers and eventually you’ll get there.. thanks for the vids 🙏🏽
My 2 cents, before a reviewer looks at a product, set some expectation first. The design of this truck is to standout, different than anything else on the road. It's exceeded the expectation. Not saying it's good/bad because the look is subjective. If you don't want to standout, don't want attention, get a Corolla , there are millions on the road and no one cares. Not going to comment on other things she said except the 360 view camera, I agree this feature should be there.
I appreciate the the Musk quote about wanting to go up against the best selling car in the US to offset the most gasoline miles starting the conversation. My biggest issue with this truck is somewhere that mission got lost. Its a fine EV and certainly interesting. But what does it do functionally the same or better then any other truck, gas or EV?
I enjoyed your take on the cybertruck, I spent a few days with one and found my experiences to be similar! I think if Tesla REALLY wants to compete in the electric pickup market, this is a great start, but needs refinement. one point about the rearview mirror you missed! When the tonneau cover is "on" it becomes entirely useless! They couldn't even make it a camera like most luxury vehicles these days!
That did surprise me! I was actually going to mention it, but the GoPro overheated before I could put the cover up and talk about it : ( One big downside of that windshield
3 weeks since this was posted and the resale value already dropping along with other issues coming up like insurance refusing to cover it. Not sure why the Elon interview a year ago got no traction when he came off as if the Cybertruck was a mistake.
You don’t have to do 10 point turns in that vehicle. It turns better than a Corolla. The truck won’t be flashy in a year when they make more trucks than Porsches.
A lot of people are saying you can get cut from the metal on this car. They say there's panel gaps that are not flush also people are saying that that this truck is prone to rust because it's not an actual paint job
Definitely an interesting vehicle! If anyone thinks a pedestrian getting hit by one of these is bad, wait until they meet bus-with-bicycles-attached-to-the-front!
The truck seems to be missing headlights, has bad rearview mirrors and a weird steering wheel with no control stalks so some aftermarket supplier should come out with upgraded replacements for all those things.
I saw one on the freeway north of Denver and it was gloss black ( assuming a wrap). I also saw one in Colorado springs with mountains silhouetted on the lower body between the wheels and a logo.
Alanis TY for doing an honest review because my wife and I preordered one from the first day it was open for preorder and now we are extremely hesitant to get one. Aside from the cool factor, the vehicle and quality of what was originally shown and what we preordered are not what’s out. As well as the pricing. They’re much higher now. No bulletproof glass, not that we need it but still that is what was sold to us. And if course the range discrepancies. Hoovie from hoovies garage says he barely makes 100 miles on a full charge with basic driving. That’s AWFUL! So in closure, we’re leaning on saying nope. No thank you. No way. Seems like a Trump presidency. All empty promises and when push comes to shove, all show and no go.
I recommend everyone watch the whistlin diesel vid. This truck had potential but they built it extremely poorly. The frame is Bluetooth and will snap off if it tows anything, the frame mounts are held together by actual duct tape out of the factory

I don’t think many CT owners are gonna be in neighborhoods where that’s really a concern.
Alanis, good work, but you missed a few things on your score, I felt it was more relative and not absolute.
That’s fair! It was a very quick filming session - husband was very ill from the heat and we had to move fast - so all I can do is my best with the time I have
@@AlanisKing again good job- hope your hubby is already feeling better. I just saw your channel. Good stuff, keep them coming.
Just off of the minimal details about the owners, they sound like the type of couple who would walk up after filming and lightly suggest a swap
I only slept three hours late night (in Indianapolis for the race) but my brain is not computing the turn of phrase
A car swap or a wife swap? I could see either. (No shame in either, either.)
Yeah I'm lost too
If your goal is to provide valuable and accurate data, Reuters is not the place to go for your research.
I saw a couple around town in the wild. It was…something.
It is something!
Fantastic Video!
Thank you 🤠🤠
Finally saw one out in the wild in my little backwater burgh. I don’t care for it or the dude responsible, but I can’t deny that it draws the eye. I’ve seen a couple Rivians, but they don’t look remarkable unless you see them from the front.
It is VERY eye-catching
Reminds me of a cheesy '70s sci-fi vehicle mock up for some movie/tv show.
Nice video, Alanis!
Thank you 🤠
I cannot even IMAGINE. People would be staring!
We're so glad you do too
Definitely Show quality visuals !
I didn’t know you reviewed this here in San Antonio until I saw you drive past incarnet word.. 😂
Hahaha yes, right there!
The Cybertruck does not look like a refrigerator? If anything, the regular truck looks more like a refrigerator than the Cybertruck.
That’s such a good point
I enjoyed your take on the cybertruck, I spent a few days with one and found my experiences to be similar! I think if Tesla REALLY wants to compete in the electric pickup market, this is a great start, but needs refinement. one point about the rearview mirror you missed! When the tonneau cover is "on" it becomes entirely useless! They couldn't even make it a camera like most luxury vehicles these days!
That did surprise me! I was actually going to mention it, but the GoPro overheated before I could put the cover up and talk about it : ( One big downside of that windshield
That’s what the rear camera is for. I only use that camera on my model S.
Great, detailed review, thanks Alanis.
Thank you for watching 🤠
🤣🤣🤣 what! That broken window trick on the screen is so cool. Great review!
Thank you for watching 🤠
I read the title, looked at the channel and saw kings name and I thought, "yep, that sounds just like her" based on the donut racing show podcast.
Hahaha
3 weeks since this was posted and the resale value already dropping along with other issues coming up like insurance refusing to cover it. Not sure why the Elon interview a year ago got no traction when he came off as if the Cybertruck was a mistake.
Things happen quickly in the world!
Why would you want windows so thick you can't roll them up or down
Love it, what a great review. I just got my Beast as well, it's amazing.
Thank you for watching!
You don’t have to do 10 point turns in that vehicle. It turns better than a Corolla. The truck won’t be flashy in a year when they make more trucks than Porsches.
Your reviews are better than dougs fr
Thank you so much for watching!
FSD capacity terminology means, pay for it now we will install the feature after 5 years :), Go enjoy our Dumpster on Wheel.
A lot of people are saying you can get cut from the metal on this car. They say there's panel gaps that are not flush also people are saying that that this truck is prone to rust because it's not an actual paint job
Any photos of Elon driving one? On the road, not in the studio.
Loving your car reviews! Hope your channel continues to grow. *subscribe*
Thank you 🤠
Definitely an interesting vehicle! If anyone thinks a pedestrian getting hit by one of these is bad, wait until they meet bus-with-bicycles-attached-to-the-front!
It’s such a wild truck
Sure... because in the US busses with bikes in the front are way more common than pick ups.
I am so excited that you have an opportunity to review this vehicle
Me too!
Nice hips
Obese
A well-produced informative video, and that’s all you got? smh
@@DethWench The hips don't lie.
The truck seems to be missing headlights, has bad rearview mirrors and a weird steering wheel with no control stalks so some aftermarket supplier should come out with upgraded replacements for all those things.
The Cybertruck is its own badge.
That’s what I said!
Great review and congrats on your new channel! Effin’ Doug, he’s on my sh!t list for letting you go.
Thank you so much for watching 🤠
Mind you, Jerry Rig Everything was more of a worse case scenario. In practical towing, its more like 200-250 miles range.
Yeah, I’m mentioning it to describe extreme cases!
8:09 they forgot to mention, that's its clearance on mars
Hahahahaha
I feel a B- rating is a bit generous, but fair review overall.
Was trying very hard to get rid of any bias on my part, and also recognize that this is the car some people really want. Thanks for watching 🤠
Lovely hips
There was a video of a thief that tried so hard to smash the cybertruck Window but failed.. The CT is so tough
Very!
If I bought a cybertrunk I would get it wrapped.
Agree
the black wrap on the lower end is not working for you.
I saw one on the freeway north of Denver and it was gloss black ( assuming a wrap). I also saw one in Colorado springs with mountains silhouetted on the lower body between the wheels and a logo.
If I bought a Cybertruck I'd get myself wrapped - in a straight-jacket. But I'm sane enough not to buy one.
You wouldn’t be the first
I really don't want a cybertruck running into a crowd of protestors.
To be fair, I don’t want any car doing that!
My guy are you good?
Thank YOU for watching
I recommend everyone watch the whistlin diesel vid. This truck had potential but they built it extremely poorly. The frame is Bluetooth and will snap off if it tows anything, the frame mounts are held together by actual duct tape out of the factory
The video was great!
Haven’t watched this yet but I’m hoping at least one Alanis in the frunk and not get chopped while trying to
I didn’t want to mess up their frunk since it’s a private owner’s car 😞
@@AlanisKing noooo 😭
Nine Alanises in the trunk bed is pretty impressive though! (Guess the hidden cubby in the bed is too small for even one?)
@@AlanisKing The finger food getting trapped/cut was by a Tesla hater as click bait.... just one of the reasons why EV insurance is rising and ICE cars are following too...
Google the Arson attacks on Tesla`s in Germany.....
Heads are turning noticing this space machine..now Elon's next task:
Make one affordable for the masses
People only buy these trucks for one reason: to flex.
Fair criticism!
Sure but same with sports cars…
The FOMO is so real... maybe I'll be able to pick one up once the 2.0 arrives.
Maybe by then you’ll get fewer stares too!
Um ma'am this not the truck for you. Just my opinion but i feel honestly you would like a um..................maby just maby i dont know exactly but sooooo many butts but i think you would like a nice old fashioned ford f-150 or a dodge imo i dont know tho
LC500 is flashy but very few people know enough about it and the brand, Lexus, to be interested or stare at it.
Fair! I stare hard though
Put a sick wrap of your own design and swap those tires for bigger ones, and suddenly, you got the coolest vehicle on the road.
You might have to upgrade the suspension to fit bigger tires.
I will never buy one though, unless that kind of design becomes common place on our roads.
Do a good job of showing what it looks like in person as it drives.
