Good morning Dr Carr and Professor Hunter 🌄 Salute from Memphis, Tennessee. Every episode of ICWC is truly a blessing. Thank you for 134 Master Classes
@ 1:12:05 Stevie Wonder bought radio station KJLH, in Los Angeles. From 1990 to June 19, 2021, they had a Black talk radio program called FRONT PAGE. It was hosted by Carl Nelson until 2005. Tavis Smiley has radio station KBLA, located in Leimert Park, not far from Eso Won Books, which is going out of business. KBLA's format is Black talk radio ALL DAY LONG! It would be wonderful if KBLA would broadcast The Carl Nelson Show. Unfortunately, I'm not quite sure that is going to happen!
Thank you Dr. Carr/Prof Hunter. Went back and just sat in that Living in Pasttime Paradise video. This is why the elders/ancestors are so important to the present generation. Stevie taught them, in removing profanity etc, --take this ride with me and anchor your voice in Hope not anger. And when you do, you can build/bring generations along. The swag of the young lions escorting Stevie, the voice of the youth choir, fervor of violinists and then wave yo' hand cause now we in gloryland!
RIP Coolio. I love Gangsta's Paradise. Pastime Paradise had such a unique sound. I'm sure it was very innovative when it was released in 1976. I still listen to the Songs in the Key of Life album like it just came out.
*"It's been our TIME!"-- Dr. Greg Carr* *Such a POWERFUL statement, but for many, many, many years this has gone over the head (and will continue to go over the heads of MANY) because 'that' statement is about a MINDSHIFT!!!!! WE HAVE ALL WE NEED!!!!! Just bring your **#Bricks**🧱!!!!!*
Where do we see the bestsellers list, is it broken down in a way we need to be aware of. Dr. Carr and You have made me give up my lunch money so many times, but I love it and the books make great gifts.
What do we want, what do we need and how do we get it? Words so profound and meaningful. The difference between practicality and reality and dreams and pure intellect.
The amount of history you get listen to Dr. Carr I am locked in am amazed. I come on just to name of books I should be reading. Thanks Karen for bring this every Saturday
@drcarr caused me to get emotional today. So much was missed by me in 1995. Went back and watched it with the understanding you just broke down and now it makes sense.
Good morning Professor Hunter and Dr Carr!! This episode gave me chills I love watching you two 😍 thank you both for the work that you all do. Learning so much!
Karen, I hope when you get into publishing you look at the Art, Sewing/Quilting and Craft world. There are many AA artists out here that can't get published because of the gatekeepers. A few have, but not many.
I apologize good folks for not greeting each and every one of you for the passed several weeks. I of course have not missed class, but I have failed to greet you with love and oneness. Professor Hunter, Dr. Carr thank you once again 10X for loving us and sharing the blessings you have cultivated through study, conversations, and showing respect to our previous generations.
Consciousness . Man know thyself. Your thought patterns determine your attitude patterns your attitude patterns determine your behavior patterns your behavior patterns determine your actions patterns your actions patterns determine what you believe to be true. So it all starts with your philosophy. Sankofor 🌍
Thank you, Prof. Hunter and Dr. Carr, for creating this space!! Here's where I come to connect with my family! Here's where I come to listen to truth being shared ... knowledge being dropped as if it's the first time!! My thirsty mind drinks it up like the living water it is, feeding my soul!! Listening to Dr. Carr sing Coolio fills me with pride for who we are ... a special creation!! May Coolio Rest Easy in Eternal Peace in Paradise!!💐 Love this 🔥 🔥 🔥 Class!! And, love you both!!🙏🏾🖤💯
Kwame Alexander’s book Door of No Return is on my to be read and listened to on Audible. He is a gifted writer with beautiful words and a wonderful griot. I listened to a sample of the audio book and the narrator of the book has a beautiful voice to tell this story. Thank you for introducing a new story teller to me

Professor Hunter and Dr. Carr Open layer after layer, section upon section of lessons. I stop and go back 2 minutes to make sure I absorbed it. And yet the next moment reveals something else profound. I love how Dr Carr can bring home a historical cultural point through singing choice lyrics of a song, in tune and with such feeling.
After listening to lectures by Dr. Ben I had a list of books like Dr Carr. I was able to purchase some of those books from A & B bookstore in downtown Brooklyn. Books like Signs and Symbols of Primordial Man, Stolen Legacy, etc.
All I can say this is the best platform I’ve ever been on. Greg and Karen you guys fill my weekends up with Ways Of Knowing. We as a people are so right on time Thank y’all for sharing!!
Speaking of the social structure...GMA did a series in Ghana around how it's flourishing. My first thought sad to say was: Should we be worried, or maybe watching out for is a better term, about forces outside Ghana wanting to manuver to control or squash the progress if they can't control it. I may have strayed into conspiracy theory territory but then again history is a beast.
Wow I might be living under a rock cause I never knew the existence of Pastime Paradise from the OG Steve Wonder, till now, shame on me 😓 Thank you Dr Carr and Prof Hunter, the analysis of the lyrics was on point. I love this space I'm learning so much. Blessings to both. Love from Italy ♥️
@@KarenHunterShow I live in Rome Prof Hunter, and for us here it has been getting crazy since the extreme Right to get back in power. They are already making things more difficult for immigrants, but even though I have to say that Italy is the least racist country in Europe, in my opinion here you don't see cop's chasing black people and shooting as you see in the USA unfortunately.
@@KarenHunterShow I'm originally from Panama Republic, Central America I arrived here in 2006, I wanted to learn another language and see other cultures than mine, I was supposed to stay for 3/ 6 months but clearly God's had other's plans for me.☺️☺️
I must acknowledge the lessons from my wonderful teacher Kimako Baraka. She was Baba Amiri's sister who taught us the Nguzo Saba/7 Principles & we recited them daily.
You’re far too kind. I do love the idea of naming some recognitions of contribution, perhaps by evoking principles and/or figures from our deep collective memory (like “iwa” (character) or Djehuty/Seshat (principles of learning and memory keeping), etc
The reason why I made the comment , i learn and again more knowledge in knarrative and #inclasswithdrcarr...than in high school and college about black ppl from my country and here in the states... I know some might say the internet is not world .I found you through Roland Martin and Ms. Hunter I use watch her on msnbc back in days ...stay blessed #onelove

I love love Dr.Carr (The Human Google). The way he relays information is masterful. Through reading, speaking, singing your able to get it and comprehend whatever he's teaching. Thank you Sis Hunter. (A clean glass of water).I appreciate you very much. One 🤎
Dr Nommo X! I first seen him during one of his seminars during my student days at the African American Student Leadership Conference at Rust College (Holly Springs MS). Dr Carr made had a seminar there years later
There seems to be a concerted effort in /by the social structure to keep us out of distribution, and that's exactly where we need to be since our content is boss. As Prince once said, ''content is king, but distribution is emperor."
It is interesting how the algorithms don’t explode and drive people here. And still the roots of viewership and engagement here continue to deepen and expand. We develop by not anchoring our work here but using here to feed our developing work in a territory beyond the empire!
Dr. Carr is right about the speeches at the United Nation. Most of all the countries spoke on peace and the well-being of their people and the peace of all mankind. Our president spoke only on Ukraine and their people well-being at the expense of America.
6:10 even the teacher the movie was based on mentioned the racist way the movie was portrayed. She said that there was a mix of students in her class and many were "white".
In Class with Dr. Carr and Karen Hunter continues to inform attendees about America's creators and operators Hysteria, while witnessing it crumble in Real time. We ALSO found fellow Book lovers through this Most appreciative program.
Dr. Carr I want those books where do I go and I need the names of them On Knarrative I see the book store list but it would be helpful if I knew what stores to go to from the list.
As Prof says, the next step as we know would/will be to contact the nearest store(s) to see if they have the book/books we’re looking for. Many of them will have African centered books and also know where else to look. They don’t always have fully accessible databases, but it’s worth the search!
Gotta be in the conversation at least: as a moment of Cultural Meaning Making, it certainly marks the time and space in which it was created as well or better as anything else similarity created. This is what makes those Conceptual Categories so powerful. They allow us to place our experiences and creations in the context of their times (CMM) and across time and space (Movement and Memory).
