Each Saturday when I come to hear these segments I feel like I am setting in a Palace with you and Dr. Carr setting at the Heads of the large Dining table teaching us and feeding us healthy food. Biggie was raised catholic as far as I could check here...but Karen was completly right on the fact neither he nor Tupac reached theri third decade, the decade of reason..imagine what they could have done- and be awed by what they both acomplished in their 25-26 years on Earth.
I've visited the Slutty Vegan location in Duluth, GA. The lines are crazy but worth standing in. I love her "Sloppy Toppy" burger. My sister told me she opened a new location in our home town Athens, Ga. I'm so proud of her and definitely will visit that location when visiting my family. Love this podcast!❤️❤️❤️

As time goes by, I am developing a deeper respect for you my brother. The passion in your voice is both contagious and inspirational at the same time. You let us know just how important it is for the Black Man to "find his voice." A new day requires a new type of verbiage that complements our developing knowledge of self...our crystalizing knowledge of what it means to live in these United States (where the 'state of mind' in each one of them has been uniquely crafted). Yet, we must develop the ability to navigate successfully in any one these 50 states. This may necessitate that we as a people clothe ourselves, permanently, in god-consciousness. May we continue to be led by the Creator.

You can't save a house, when the wiring is damage or corrupt. The wires are group and organize, but if you don't maintain the wiring the house will burn very quickly. As you see on the west coast, the whole state never burns

Love this show. Yall talk about things when I was in my 20's understanding life and what's happening. Long ago I've seen the world for what it is. I was taught to live in respect for the ancestors. In life I was taught to be prepared to grow my own food. I have been abused by the police and long ago I've talked about the injustice system. The ADOS conversation is strictly about reparations for the descendants of Foundational Black Americans who were kidnapped and/or enslaved, tortured, raped, robbed and (continue to be) terrorized here in amerikkka. All Afrikans, everywhere, deserve reparations from some european/arab entity. We should support all efforts, worldwide, for Maafa reparations. As you said, Mama Karen, we should not let that conversation divide us; division is the way of the social structure, cooperation and mutual support should be the way of the governing structure. We Afrikans here in amerikkka should not expect reparations from the european settlers in what is now known as Australia; we should champion and support reparations for the descendants of the indigenous Afrikans that were robbed, raped, tortured, terrorized and were hunted prey in what is now called "the outback". We here in amerikkka should champion and support reparations for all manifestations of the Maafa that our Australian cousins have endured/are enduring.
I think I said for reparations ONLY lineage matters...but unfortunately, it has become a wedge to "disqualify" Black people and it has become very divisive and unproductive. Let's unite and keep our eye on the prize. I don't think Black folk who have no connection to those enslaved in America will be fighting us for reparations when they come. Until then, let's unite and focus on the common goals: FREEDOM and eradicating oppression.

When 6221 Osage ave. was on fire and durning in West Philly; from a bomb dropped by the City of Philadelphia's government in 1985, they let it burn. 61 homes were destroyed, 250 people were left homeless, and 11 people were killed 5 of whom were children. And they allowed University of Penn to collect and house the remains of two of the children without asking the families or even notifying them that their bones were recovered until just recently. They just let it burn, stole the precious remains of those families babies and walk away without saying a word. Let your resistance Stay Ona MOVE family.
My Son attended an earlier funeral in Philly back in the 70s. Seems like a forgotten killing of our people 'cause I only hear report of the '85 bombing. Any Philly historians know about MOVE attacks before 1985?

As Bro. Dr. Carr mentioned…If all black people voted in these states (stopped gerrymandering, stopped voter intimidation, insert why Florida pushed back against allowing formerly incarcerated to vote), Alabama would have a dem/maybe a black Senator, GA would keep Warnock which I pray they do, and there could be the 60 Senators needed to blast away the filibuster and set things up for Reparations for example.
It can only be lineage based because you can't use race at all. The only people owed cash reparations are those direct descendants of those who endured CHATTAL SLAVERY. Caricom states specifically that only Jamaicans are eligible for their reparations so why should they or any group who came here willingly descendants of Chattal Slavery benefits.

Interesting that Karen mentioned student loan debt in relation to reparations. We have privately discussed allowing for no cost health care benefits and free education including student loan forgiveness as a start.
