I’m 34 minutes in and I had to stop and comment. The way he articulates the procrastination process as an artist is absolutely spot on. I’ll sit for days and procrastinate only to become completely alive once I start actually making the artwork. What a wise, gentle, and relatable gem this man is!!
After retirement, I took up painting. Im artistic but hadn't spent time in my life actually creating "framable" art. Well, I honestly don't know how I create what I do. My best paintings come through me, like I am channeling. I won top prize in my first major competition with a painting that took less than an hour to do. I can't even reproduce the technique again. I say this because we do just need to let go of resistance and see where spirit leads us.
This has happened to me with music before. I open up an old project and on occasion it feels like it was made by someone else. I have no clue of how I was in the frame of mind to but the composition together they way I did. It's like I have different eras where I catch a state of flow and you can tell what music came from that era. It feels impossible to get back into that same type of flow where I'm seeing things the same way.... But if you stick with it long enough a new flow comes along that you can riff off of for a little while.
There is a reason why The Creator is named so. The Divine is not gone and away, but present to have relationship with us. His Grace blesses us in ways where such co-creativity flows out of us in abundance. Be open to Him. Respectfully, I have had similar experiences like yourself when it comes to writing. Be open to the teachings of Christ and the Way. Life before compared to life after following His teachings and being in relationship with God? No comparison. Peace, Grace, Truth, Love to you, sister.

I think part of the fear of success for many (certainly is for myself) is the fear of being seen. It’s a fear of vulnerability. Our art in many ways is our soul expressing itself; it’s the most vulnerable expression and to do that in front of thousands if not millions of people is scary. We as humans have pain over never being seen but I think we also can have a fear of being fully seen… of being seen in our fullness and truth. To be that open and baring it all…. That’s for the brave
Well said, I'm a writer and also exploring art through various mediums, I completed a sketch book (took me nearly two years, but I finished it!🎉) which showed me that I don't need permission from anyone to be a writer or an artist (or both) I also believe that the idea that society has in relation to art and creativity, that is unless you are published or have your own art exhibition, then you are not really a writer or an artist and instead, you have a "quaint little hobby" This has actually been said to me, and now I find it quite funny that people only view the arts as meaningful if someone else has paid money for it. I’ve watched a few interviews with Steven. He’s a wonderful guest, very affirming to whoever is doing the interview. For me, watching him as an interview guest is a fantastic roadmap on how to bring out the best in whoever you are talking to
Steven Pressfield is the only writer I've written so far. He replied within hours and was always super kind. His historical fiction is what really made me want to succeed as a writer. I'm still not published (not in English anyway) but the day is coming.
5 minutes in and I’m in tears already. Being an artist is truly challenging. Fear of success, procrastination and what not.. been struggling with it for more than a year now. Like the soul wants to create so much through me, but the fear holds my hands back. It’s a constant battle.

Why not do a very small and short sketch.... just to start with project? It will unblock all your blockages - and open the flow of ideas for future projects.
I think one of the fears surrounding the fear of success is the fear of being able to sustain it. That once you have succeeded and achieved a certain level, there is now the fear of keep bringing something new and successful and the judgement that comes when one has succeeded and reached the top, in having all the attention on them
I have been going through this one. I am practicing. I will be able to choose each step of the way so if I don’t feel it anymore… ok. Just not having the expectation on myself. I feel you on this deep.

I was recently part of an art exhibition. All my art except one piece had been inspired by other works. The one piece was something that I let my soul guide me. When one other girl came to view my stand, she picked out the piece that I did from my soul as her favourite. Follow your heart it means more than you can imagine.
I published my first book on Amazon. My wife was completely my muse. Every idea was created in the bathroom or around water. The process flowed perfectly.
I’m only 20 minutes into the discussion and am totally floored that this man is saying exactly how I feel when it comes to creating my art! My creations always surprise me when they’re finished. So much so that I can hardly believe I’m the one who created them. It truly feels like there is some Divine influence while I’m painting or drawing my pieces. It’s like I stand back and am in awe that it came from my own hands. I do, when beginning a new piece, ask that Spirit help me with it. All of my artwork is commissioned work and so it absolutely must have life in it, and somehow that is always achieved and I am shocked and grateful that I can do this for others. 🙏✨ This is such an awesome interview and now I’m going to get back to it. OMG…I feel the same way. When I finish a painting I feel like it is a fluke! How did I do that? I’m sure it’s just a one-time thing. Then it happens again! I’m finally understanding that, “I can do it!” But I am still shocked every time.
Check non duality direct path teachings this is confirmed with Jesus real teachings that a lot have misinterpreted....in the direct path consciousness and awareness of that divinity within us is the creator...know thyself for sure. I too experience this. One time I needed help with a painting as I was stuck and stressed. I asked for help! Hilariously, I received it and the insight made me add a couple of well placed lines that solved the issue. I had the feeling my ‚muse‘ felt a bit exhausted with me😂! Usually my ‚insights‘ come from a very kind, understanding and friendly source.
I am a musician. This was so helpful on so many levels. I am not a perfect artist, and I have many blocks, but I can say that I do create a lot. What really helps me when I'm feeling self conscious or I get lost in the weeds of worrying about opinions, is to aim for the feeling of CREATIVE SATISFACTION. It is my north star. If I get that satisfying/surprising feeling like "oh yes!", I just follow that. At the end of the project, if I feel a sense of relief and release, I know I have done the job. After that, opinions come and go.
Oh, the irony of life! I planned to paint all day today and here I am procrastinating by watching this video. Great info and I was half-way through it before I decided to paint now, listen/watch the video this evening when I’m done working. Thank you for this timely video (for me, at least!).
My opinion on what stops people is trauma. If they do the thing they want to do it’s the fear that they will get criticized, that the criticism is true, that people will recognize them and agree it’s awful; if they are good then there is attention and they can’t handle the attention even if it’s good. I find that those that are successful at what they do there is a confidence that reflects love in their life that didn’t disappoint them to the point of fear. For people with trauma, there is such fear in the criticism, the success, the attention that brings up such big feelings that they don’t know if they’ll be able to handle it.

In crippling fear - RESISTANCE, I stumbled upon Steven Pressfield through his books (particularly “The War of Art”), and wrote my first book. I’m forever grateful for his loving and firm kick in the ass. Here I am again, afraid and wanting to create more, and the Muse channeled through this podcast is hearing the call. My gratitude. 🙏🏼
I definitely agree with Steven here. When I was in the process of making The Dreaming of You! Shaman Oracle deck I felt the big creative force moving through me. And I asked myself many times, “How the hell did I just draw or write this!” Felt a deep purpose and privilege to capture the essence of the cards and writings.

I do a daily practice of writing. It helps keep me disciplined, to sit down every day and do the thing. The big blank page or canvas or whatever can still be intimidating, but I think it is important that we have fun. Creativity is really such a joyful experience when something amazing, wondrous, profound, and beautiful comes through you. You look at it and stand in awe, and you are transformed as much as anyone who interacts with what came through you. I like the invocation of a prayer to the creative force. I am definitely going to start doing that because I have mad reverence for my creativity.
Great conversation… I have struggled with self sabotage for 50 years. I have had great ideas and let them die on the vine. I have recently committed myself to daily action to get my creative ideas out. This real helped me identify and deal with resistance and let my inner self create without limitations.

Fortunately I'd saved this podcast to my 'watch later' list or I would have missed it. It opened itself to me at just the right time too. I've always felt I had something to offer the world and when I couldn't be heard, I turned to painting at 40. That too 'I allowed to be shut down' and at 80, I've realized that if I move again, all I'd care to take with me is my air mattress and my art materials! And yet I still wasn't able to get back to painting! After listening to this podcast, you have affirmed to me that as my time of healing nears completion, I will make that move with my art materials and pen and paper (for writing) and start the rest of my life which will eclipse all I've accomplished so far in life. I look forward to finding works by Steven and following your podcast as well. The words 'Know thyself' have been a mantra for most of my life. I'm ready to face myself and my many foibles and get back on life's journey and see where it leads me.

Great interview with one of the Greats, Andre!! I Love that Steven Pressfield asked you what Dharma is. Such a beautiful moment of humility and genuine connection. When he spoke about that layer of resistance between us and the creative Source/God/Goddess and how we can reframe it and use it as fuel to push through…call bullshit on it. I felt that. Brought tears to my eyes. Ultimately it’s a choice-so liberating. 🙏🏼💯
❤ Sounds like channeling to me. The 'Muse' is more often a real separate entity that you find yourself in resonance with in order to bring a thought or memory from the unseen realm into the material world. "All is frequency and vibration" once said a well known scientist/inventor. The feeling of "this isn't me" says it all.
Ive heard people say artists , singwriters dont actually write the songs but are gifted or sent/channeled but even if thats the case , there must be something special about the person to be chosen surely?
His journey is almost like that of Neale Donald Walsch' story that was also not successful yet at old age, homeless at 50 before gaining success through his Conversation with God books. I love him so much. What a wise man, like I just want to give him a hug so that I can gain all his wisdom 😂. Thank you so much for this. As a writer and content creator I can relate to those creative blocks. Having days where I don’t want to write, but as soon as my fingers touch my keyboard, I’m able to write, then get into a state of flow. It truly is magical. I’m currently writing a sci-fi novel and I’m amazed with how the character development and story is unfolding right before my eyes. I’m aware of the plot, but I’m unaware of how the next page will be written. Creators are the instruments of art. Our job is to invoke emotion and inspiration. Who’s to say where this comes from? Well… that’s the rabbit hole 🕳️ 🐇 which is best explored over a bottle of wine, or a cup of coffee. Won’t you join me? 😌

I first read Pressfield's "The War of Art" book some 7+ years ago, & it was life-changing. So much so, that I would not only gift copies to creative friends for Christmas, etc., but tell creatives that I would refund them their $10 or so if they didn't get anything out of his book. It was such an EASY, quick ready, yet profound without being 'woo-woo', & felt like having a 'kick-in-the-butt' conversation with your grandfather or father. This video has been a fantastic follow-up to the book, and Pressfield is indeed that stern but gentle, divine masculine, wise motivator in person! Thanks Andre for the great interview & questions! But, EVERYONE - definitely go buy the book - it's SOOO powerful, I guarantee it, & I'm NOT a strong book reader.

Excellent podcast Andre. Your guest Steven Pressfield was very informative about navigating through the creative process. Facing our fears as well as achievements. To be aware how the voices distract us, our own voices can sabatoge us. The importance of discipline and that we Are Worthy to create and become our best selves. Also to know that when we dont follow our passion or what we love that we get hints and wispers that we are off our path. Things aren't in resonance. We may notice we aren't happy or don't feel well. An accident can happen to us to wake us up that we are being distracted and need to refocus or go inside our selves to listen and regroup. When we let that happen we waste time in bringing forth our gifts, or the reasons we are here on Earth. We are expressing our Soul and our true nature in our own unique way or trying to find out what we would like to accomplish that feels to us inside that we are doing what feels right so to speak. Andre your questions are thought provoking and penetrating. I found the subject of staying amateur vs going professional, addressed so many core values and as you and Steven discussed 'doing the great work' and the necessity of self discipline and self value in the aspect of money and what to charge. Using the perspective that we must respect our time and effort and years, whatever the time is we have given ourselves to the process and the base of knowledge we have accumulated. You mentioned that we are our own business in that we have to pay our bills, taxes and whatever. So it is important value your Art and self and compensation. Mr. Pressfield also eloquently spoke about the importance of the etherial Goddess /Muse. The importance of connection to the Universe, the alchemical process if you will. To invoke the power of that which we might not think to do in our work space as that space is sacred. Saying a little prayer to bless the space where your heart can come forth and be open to the creative process especially for those of us who are more introverted. To be open to a power greater than our selves. This podcast is filled with a wealth of wisdom, enthusiasm, humor and encouragement. I had a vision during it of all people throughout time from the caveman to the modern man creating “in the zone” and beams of light emitting from their bodies to the “heavens” . Beams of love, even the cleaner washing the floor, the accountant crunching numbers, if they were feeling love doing it, a beam of light shone from them. It reinforced my desire to sculpt. I quit reading the Steven Pressfield books because I felt that they became resistance. I read them over and over. Sometimes, listening or watching youtube can be resistance. Put down the book, close the youtube video, and go do something.
You're right, but go do "THE THING!" While reading TWOA, I kept feeling like "OK, I get it, now I need to go do The Thing!" But I forced myself to finish reading it on principal, to know that I knew Resistance. Steve is so real / down to Earth / normal in this video. Asking Andre for input. Steve seems like a great guy.
Boooooyeaaahhhhh ..that's the feeling I got at the very end of this episode. Like a very big internal yell. He hit it on the nose piece. It was a very great feeling. Your energy is used very wisely by myself these days.

This is so true.! I began my working life in engineering and found I could do things I never imagined I would be able to do. Since then some 35 years ago found I had other abilities to and once I realized that things just happen when we dare to try it became addictive and began to believe I could do anything if I put my mind to it, and still do at 70.

I remember reading the War of Art by Steven 6 years ago and how it helped me at the time overcome resistance for creating. His work came as a beacon for action. Fear of success (the mystery) is something I am still working past six years later, although better capable at moving the needle certainly and being systematically productive.

It's like I have different eras where I catch a state of flow and you can tell what music came from that era. It feels impossible to get back into that same type of flow where I'm seeing things the same way.... But if you stick with it long enough a new flow comes along that you can riff off of for a little while.

There is a reason why The Creator is named so. The Divine is not gone and away, but present to have relationship with us. His Grace blesses us in ways where such co-creativity flows out of us in abundance. Be open to Him. Respectfully, I have had similar experiences like yourself when it comes to writing. Be open to the teachings of Christ and the Way. Life before compared to life after following His teachings and being in relationship with God? No comparison. Peace, Grace, Truth, Love to you, sister.

Do you feel the fact that you started painting only after retirement in fact made you better at painting because you haven't had big expectations and therefore didn't have to struggle with as much resistance?

I think part of the fear of success for many (certainly is for myself) is the fear of being seen. It’s a fear of vulnerability. Our art in many ways is our soul expressing itself; it’s the most vulnerable expression and to do that in front of thousands if not millions of people is scary. We as humans have pain over never being seen but I think we also can have a fear of being fully seen… of being seen in our fullness and truth. To be that open and baring it all…. That’s for the brave

Well said, I'm a writer and also exploring art through various mediums, I completed a sketch book (took me nearly two years, but I finished it!🎉) which showed me that I don't need permission from anyone to be a writer or an artist (or both)
I also believe that the idea that society has in relation to art and creativity, that is unless you are published or have your own art exhibition, then you are not really a writer or an artist and instead, you have a "quaint little hobby"
This has actually been said to me, and now I find it quite funny that people only view the arts as meaningful if someone else has paid money for it.

I’ve watched a few interviews with Steven. He’s a wonderful guest, very affirming to whoever is doing the interview. For me, watching him as an interview guest is a fantastic roadmap on how to bring out the best in whoever you are talking to
Steven Pressfield is the only writer I've written so far. He replied within hours and was always super kind. His historical fiction is what really made me want to succeed as a writer. I'm still not published (not in English anyway) but the day is coming.
5 minutes in and I’m in tears already. Being an artist is truly challenging. Fear of success, procrastination and what not.. been struggling with it for more than a year now. Like the soul wants to create so much through me, but the fear holds my hands back. It’s a constant battle.

Why not do a very small and short sketch.... just to start with project? It will unblock all your blockages - and open the flow of ideas for future projects.
I think one of the fears surrounding the fear of success is the fear of being able to sustain it. That once you have succeeded and achieved a certain level, there is now the fear of keep bringing something new and successful and the judgement that comes when one has succeeded and reached the top, in having all the attention on them
I have been going through this one. I am practicing.
I will be able to choose each step of the way so if I don’t feel it anymore… ok. Just not having the expectation on myself. I feel you on this deep.
... and the energy to keep it up. Maybe, part of the fear, is that the fantasy of success is easier than the effort it'd take.

I was recently part of an art exhibition. All my art except one piece had been inspired by other works. The one piece was something that I let my soul guide me. When one other girl came to view my stand, she picked out the piece that I did from my soul as her favourite. Follow your heart it means more than you can imagine.
War of art really had a profound impact on my life. I’d love to have more people read it. It’s all so pure and true.

I’m only 20 minutes into the discussion and am totally floored that this man is saying exactly how I feel when it comes to creating my art! My creations always surprise me when they’re finished. So much so that I can hardly believe I’m the one who created them. It truly feels like there is some Divine influence while I’m painting or drawing my pieces. It’s like I stand back and am in awe that it came from my own hands. I do, when beginning a new piece, ask that Spirit help me with it. All of my artwork is commissioned work and so it absolutely must have life in it, and somehow that is always achieved and I am shocked and grateful that I can do this for others. 🙏✨ This is such an awesome interview and now I’m going to get back to it. OMG…I feel the same way. When I finish a painting I feel like it is a fluke! How did I do that? I’m sure it’s just a one-time thing. Then it happens again! I’m finally understanding that, “I can do it!” But I am still shocked every time.
Check non duality direct path teachings this is confirmed with Jesus real teachings that a lot have misinterpreted....in the direct path consciousness and awareness of that divinity within us is the creator...know thyself for sure. I too experience this. One time I needed help with a painting as I was stuck and stressed. I asked for help! Hilariously, I received it and the insight made me add a couple of well placed lines that solved the issue. I had the feeling my ‚muse‘ felt a bit exhausted with me😂! Usually my ‚insights‘ come from a very kind, understanding and friendly source.
I am a musician. This was so helpful on so many levels. I am not a perfect artist, and I have many blocks, but I can say that I do create a lot. What really helps me when I'm feeling self conscious or I get lost in the weeds of worrying about opinions, is to aim for the feeling of CREATIVE SATISFACTION. It is my north star. If I get that satisfying/surprising feeling like "oh yes!", I just follow that. At the end of the project, if I feel a sense of relief and release, I know I have done the job. After that, opinions come and go.
I do the same and it works for me too!
I just follow my muse. And not be concerned AT ALL what anyone would think, thinking about the judgment of others is the quickest flow killer.
Oh, the irony of life! I planned to paint all day today and here I am procrastinating by watching this video. Great info and I was half-way through it before I decided to paint now, listen/watch the video this evening when I’m done working. Thank you for this timely video (for me, at least!).
My opinion on what stops people is trauma. If they do the thing they want to do it’s the fear that they will get criticized, that the criticism is true, that people will recognize them and agree it’s awful; if they are good then there is attention and they can’t handle the attention even if it’s good. I find that those that are successful at what they do there is a confidence that reflects love in their life that didn’t disappoint them to the point of fear. For people with trauma, there is such fear in the criticism, the success, the attention that brings up such big feelings that they don’t know if they’ll be able to handle it.

I definitely agree with Steven here. When I was in the process of making The Dreaming of You! Shaman Oracle deck I felt the big creative force moving through me. And I asked myself many times, “How the hell did I just draw or write this!” Felt a deep purpose and privilege to capture the essence of the cards and writings.
This just popped up on my screen out of the blue at the EXACT MOMENT I needed it. I am an artist and writer who has been struggling immensely with imposter syndrome and fear of success. I do a daily practice of writing. It helps keep me disciplined, to sit down every day and do the thing. The big blank page or canvas or whatever can still be intimidating, but I think it is important that we have fun. Creativity is really such a joyful experience when something amazing, wondrous, profound, and beautiful comes through you. You look at it and stand in awe, and you are transformed as much as anyone who interacts with what came through you. I like the invocation of a prayer to the creative force. I am definitely going to start doing that because I have mad reverence for my creativity.
Great conversation… I have struggled with self sabotage for 50 years. I have had great ideas and let them die on the vine. I have recently committed myself to daily action to get my creative ideas out. This real helped me identify and deal with resistance and let my inner self create without limitations.

Fortunately I'd saved this podcast to my 'watch later' list or I would have missed it. It opened itself to me at just the right time too. I've always felt I had something to offer the world and when I couldn't be heard, I turned to painting at 40. That too 'I allowed to be shut down' and at 80, I've realized that if I move again, all I'd care to take with me is my air mattress and my art materials! And yet I still wasn't able to get back to painting! After listening to this podcast, you have affirmed to me that as my time of healing nears completion, I will make that move with my art materials and pen and paper (for writing) and start the rest of my life which will eclipse all I've accomplished so far in life.
I look forward to finding works by Steven and following your podcast as well. The words 'Know thyself' have been a mantra for most of my life. I'm ready to face myself and my many foibles and get back on life's journey and see where it leads me.

The 'Muse' is more often a real separate entity that you find yourself in resonance with in order to bring a thought or memory from the unseen realm into the material world. "All is frequency and vibration" once said a well known scientist/inventor. The feeling of "this isn't me" says it all.
Ive heard people say artists , singwriters dont actually write the songs but are gifted or sent/channeled but even if thats the case , there must be something special about the person to be chosen surely?
His journey is almost like that of Neale Donald Walsch' story that was also not successful yet at old age, homeless at 50 before gaining success through his Conversation with God books. I love him so much. What a wise man, like I just want to give him a hug so that I can gain all his wisdom 😂. Thank you so much for this. As a writer and content creator I can relate to those creative blocks. Having days where I don’t want to write, but as soon as my fingers touch my keyboard, I’m able to write, then get into a state of flow. It truly is magical. I’m currently writing a sci-fi novel and I’m amazed with how the character development and story is unfolding right before my eyes. I’m aware of the plot, but I’m unaware of how the next page will be written. Creators are the instruments of art. Our job is to invoke emotion and inspiration. Who’s to say where this comes from? Well… that’s the rabbit hole 🕳️ 🐇 which is best explored over a bottle of wine, or a cup of coffee. Won’t you join me? 😌
Steven's book, The War of Art is a really good book that has helped me view the way I show up creatively differently! I appreciated him talking about how the muse wants to get in touch with us, and we also want to but cut ourselves short.

I first read Pressfield's "The War of Art" book some 7+ years ago, & it was life-changing. So much so, that I would not only gift copies to creative friends for Christmas, etc., but tell creatives that I would refund them their $10 or so if they didn't get anything out of his book. It was such an EASY, quick ready, yet profound without being 'woo-woo', & felt like having a 'kick-in-the-butt' conversation with your grandfather or father. This video has been a fantastic follow-up to the book, and Pressfield is indeed that stern but gentle, divine masculine, wise motivator in person! Thanks Andre for the great interview & questions! But, EVERYONE - definitely go buy the book - it's SOOO powerful, I guarantee it, & I'm NOT a strong book reader.

Excellent podcast Andre. Your guest Steven Pressfield was very informative about navigating through the creative process. Facing our fears as well as achievements. To be aware how the voices distract us, our own voices can sabatoge us. The importance of discipline and that we Are Worthy to create and become our best selves. Also to know that when we dont follow our passion or what we love that we get hints and wispers that we are off our path. Things aren't in resonance. We may notice we aren't happy or don't feel well. An accident can happen to us to wake us up that we are being distracted and need to refocus or go inside our selves to listen and regroup. When we let that happen we waste time in bringing forth our gifts, or the reasons we are here on Earth. We are expressing our Soul and our true nature in our own unique way or trying to find out what we would like to accomplish that feels to us inside that we are doing what feels right so to speak. Andre your questions are thought provoking and penetrating. I found the subject of staying amateur vs going professional, addressed so many core values and as you and Steven discussed 'doing the great work' and the necessity of self discipline and self value in the aspect of money and what to charge. Using the perspective that we must respect our time and effort and years, whatever the time is we have given ourselves to the process and the base of knowledge we have accumulated. You mentioned that we are our own business in that we have to pay our bills, taxes and whatever. So it is important value your Art and self and compensation. Mr. Pressfield also eloquently spoke about the importance of the etherial Goddess /Muse. The importance of connection to the Universe, the alchemical process if you will. To invoke the power of that which we might not think to do in our work space as that space is sacred. Saying a little prayer to bless the space where your heart can come forth and be open to the creative process especially for those of us who are more introverted. To be open to a power greater than our selves. This podcast is filled with a wealth of wisdom, enthusiasm, humor and encouragement. To know that our dharma/our path is a sacred and difficult life journey worthy of our time and effort and ultimately our transcendence.

I quit reading the Steven Pressfield books because I felt that they became resistance. I read them over and over. Sometimes, listening or watching youtube can be resistance. Put down the book, close the youtube video, and go do something.

While reading TWOA, I kept feeling like "OK, I get it, now I need to go do The Thing!" But I forced myself to finish reading it on principal, to know that I knew Resistance.

Im only 15 minutes in and this is already so good. Im pausing to digest it all.
This is so true.! I began my working life in engineering and found I could do things I never imagined I would be able to do. Since then some 35 years ago found I had other abilities to and once I realized that things just happen when we dare to try it became addictive and began to believe I could do anything if I put my mind to it, and still do at 70.
Lightworkers are beginning to speak up about our creative wild imaginations and the intuitive intelligence that our hearts reveal to us through the source.

THey, I just purchased the new Daily Pressfield. "The War of Art" changed my life and how I see resistance. I'm looking to create a massive collection of art this year, but resistance is already kicking my butt. So, I'm sure the Daily Pressfield will help.
He talked a lot about keep on trying to do what he likes to do and be successful in it and yet going through many failures.. to me he is a successful human being to have experienced so much so to say suffering never hurt anyone. I love this man!

Amazing as I watch this, I thought of Neil Young in an older interview.... He said the music comes through him, and it's from "the Source." Also, he said he HAS to be true to it, he HAS to do it, "for the Music." --- Then at about the 15:30 mark in this video, Steven mentions Neil Young. I love coincidences LOL! + Love the interview!

This was so needed, also this is why I still believe in authors and writers because this art from will never die
I remember reading the War of Art by Steven 6 years ago and how it helped me at the time overcome resistance for creating. His work came as a beacon for action. Fear of success (the mystery) is something I am still working past six years later, although better capable at moving the needle certainly and being systematically productive.
Andre, you ask the best questions. Such a great back and forth between you and Steven. I need to go read some of Steven's books--discovering him for the first time here, and he's such an inspiration.
