Honestly, I only really use my phone for shorts, but recently, I wanted a newer phone because my old Samsung Galaxy a31 was getting a bit slow, and a bit more power would be nice. So I got myself an S23 ultra, and honestly, my plans are just keeping this phone for another 10+ years
phone companies could start releasing a new phone every 2 years instead. Think of it, better features and quality just for waiting an extra year over the one year we're used to. Plus may make a phone cheaper since they're not in a rush to produce so many. (Maybe)
Phone companies should just stop releasing new phones every year. They should switch to a 2, or 3 year schedule, where every 2 or 3 years, they release a new phone with more significant upgrades.
I dont understand upgrading every time a new phone drops. My family upgrades every couple phone generations. right now i use a Google Pixel 7a and it is perfectly fine.
My Note 20 is dust and waterproof, does up to 8K filming and 64MP photos, plays games without hiccups, AND I can draw on it with the S-Pen. I ain't buying a new one for a long while. So far, I just had to replace the screen after dropping it.
I mean my 350 dollar a54 is enough for me. The max I would wanna go would be a s23 ultra because of the pen, camera and the shape however I aint paying 1k for such an incremental upgrade. You can buy a used car for that
Also the sh market is doing pretty well now adays. With older phones being still great and 7years software support for flagships, buying a sh flagship instade of a new midranger is a far better idea that comes at the expense of companies making less sales

Most of us already using a 3+ years old phone and stuck with, as long as it's working why changing it? Plus probably the phone itself turned into a part of our personalities
I'm still on a Note 9 and I've got a spare one sitting in a box for the year this one finally dies. Current phones just don't do anything appealing, the cameras are no better, the screens are sometimes worse, they all have that ugly punch hole camera, many lack a 3.5mm jack like the one I'm using right now, and the SD slot is on its way out. Why would I update to a worse phone?
I have an huawei phone that has its age alredy it was given to my dad by his friend still in perfect condision i got i peffectly working phobe for FREE and has a much better battery then my friends iphone that her dad bout for a 1000 euro(1084usd) and is even better. So whats the point of having a worse phone for more is you can have a better one for less?
I think it is good that people buy less phones. It is also better for the planet. But I could imagine that it is also because phones got so expensive that people just can't afford or don't want to new phones
Pourquoi changer à chaque fois qu'un nouvel iPhone sort quand celui que vous possédez est suffisamment performant.Maintenant je changerais que quand il sera capable de me faire le café 😀
Simple answer: Smart phone innovation and capabilities has reach its peak.

@@brunoob-1How mamy things? I really don't know it:/

No it didn't reached but people just invovate it further for now
I want night vision camera for my phone
i still look for an usb a port and easier romming 😂
My LG K20+ has a removable battery, SD memory expansion, headphone jack and a decent camera, still makes phone calls, video calls and messaging
Exactly! My phone is the same, why would we update to a worse phone?
And when did you buy it?
Phone generations should be every 5 years or so, similar to consoles, so technology can actually develop
No, because very few phones last that long. 2-3 years would be better.
same. i will still buy the S22 Ultra in 2023 and 2024
Because new phone just too expensive. So some of people like myself will considering alternative like second hand devices and refurbished at least
This.
Nah phones are so much affordable nowadays because of competition. You're just poor

Oh no, that will lead to more subscription services like subscription for os basic features and updates? Numbers must match
Dark thing is
To just shut down old phone or artificially slow down old phones and force to buy new
Yeah brotha, I'm on my 5 year old 500€ back then phone (my parents got it this January for 69€)
Why would we update to a phone with fewer features? No headphone jack, no memory card, no removable battery, *_NO THANK YOU!_*
Watching on the iphone 5s from 2013

My advice is to upgrade to a newer phone with the latest OS version as soon as the OS version you're using gets unsupported
my galaxy note 4: hai😂
the real answer is that most of us DONT HAVE MONEY
If they offer me more trade-in on my current phone I would be more likely to buy a new one
Knowing Apple, they'll just push some update that makes the old ones unusable.
I still got the iPhone 12 and I don’t see a reason to upgrade.
Give me a phone that I can do work on if I plug in a mouse and keyboard... A pocket pc is the next step.
samsung dex
(non-samsung)
enable and go to developer options > force desktop mode on secondary display (on) and reconnect your display and get some otg mouse idk

All flagships look the same year to year, no point in upgrading yearly, I upgrade every 4 years
Too expensive
the iphone 4 takes better photos then my 2018 phone
Third reason is: phone is harm eyes. So, maybe still use old phones to non harm eyes
Nope, not that
Unsound and illogical argument

I love this

I still buy every two years

Wtf is this comparation
apple will most likely soft-brick older phones
Well 90% of the wealth is concentrated in the hands of 10%; people aren't able to buy the costly upgrades even if they wanted to.
yeah my previous phone was redmi 4 from 2016 which is fucking smoother than my main one (its galaxy m13 from 2022)

Wait for a update and you will throw your phone and will buy new one 😂😂😂😂
headphone jack
Samsung galaxy s9 is good as galaxy s21(almost) and galaxy s9 is 12 years old
Wut? The s21(which is already 3 years old by itself) is miles ahead in cameras, performance and software and the s9 was launched in 2018... 6 years ago
Yes, people ARE buying new phones. Your first data point proves it! Hahaha, sales are down 22% from the previous year, which means about a fifth.
iPhone 8 is still more than powerful. I barely see performance issues. But the battery is bad, despite me replacing it at Best Buy
