12:45 The loop cut Z rotation angle (for tability purpose) is said to be inversely proportionnal to the number of teeths, which i translate as Zrot=1/(Number of teeths)...1/60=0.0116 for the ring (You said 0.6°) 1/24=0.04166 for the planet (You said 1.5°) and -1/12 for the sun gear (you said -3°). I cant figure out how you end up with this rotation angles. Please explain
I cant zero my median point. For example in x value I set 0 and then I press enter and i see that the value is 0.0000007. Then i repeat again and value changeing on 0.0000034. WTF is this?!!! ;[ Please masters of Blender help me. By the way how did u marked accurate 1/3 of the bottom vertecies in 14:40?
He just eyeballed it, after all that part is just to connect it to the triangular base plate, so connecting it to the triangle flush is not that important
Unfortunately, this type of software is highly susceptible to mode errors where the user, following the tutorial, enters the command, but receives errors because the user is in the wrong mode for that command. This is made worse by some commands being written (mouse icon with letter) while others are not (e.g. at 5:15 the mouse is shown with an R for rotate, but the next two commands are skipped: Z and Ctrl+V). In other places, assumption are made about the user's knowledge of the interface. In my case, I can't select the endpoints to connect them. I am certainly in the wrong mode to select points, but the select menu includes scores of options, none of which allow for point selection. With only part of the screen in view, determining if the mode is different and how to get in the correct mode is very difficult.
A few more basic tutorials will make this one easier. Here is what you need to know: The only modes used here are OBJECT mode and EDIT mode (press Tab to toggle). Move the world with middle-wheel-click and maybe shift or control. Select by right-click, add/subtract selection is shift-right-click. Select points by right clicking in EDIT mode. Press A to toggle: select all/select None. There are three transformations: Scale (S) Rotate (R) and Translate/grab (G) with this syntax: s|r|g x|y|z number |right-click. For example, rotate around Z axis by 15 degrees, just type: R Z 15 . Right-click aborts the transform. Right-click positions the 3d cursor, Shift-C resets it. (just learned that one.) I think that is all the things you need to know to start this tutorial.
We just tried the 96x42x12 combination with the calculator. It works perfectly with the profile shift of 0.5 applied to the sun and outer gears. Contact us via our web site www.otvinta.com and we will send you the .blend file.
The rigid body version didn't work for me. Everyting I tried the gears exploded away or they jittered but ditn't spinning around in my version created from this video instructions. The downloaded version works and I don't find out why. So I decided to use drivers and this works perfectly. I want to describe or illustrate mechanical behaviour not to simulate and test a physical model.
followed it exactly word for word, have even compared mine to your downloadable version and somehow mine still doesnt work correctly sun gear drops down before the gears start spinning, have tripple checked everything and nothing is fixing it/getting it to work
For all the dudes, that arent able to replicate the model - you most likely dont center the 3d cursor at center of the planetary gear (at 12:27), while doing a loop cut and rotating it on Z with 1.5 degrees. Thank me later. :)))
Velice krásný tutorial - postupoval jsem podle návodu. Prosím o zaslání blend.souboru - při přehrávání mám trhavé pohyby a ozubená kola se nepohybují plynule.Pomozte moc děkuji
Planets move in elliptical orbit not in circular orbit which cause variation in speed as it approaches sun and moves away from Sun, so your model could not replicate the exact motion of planets
How can I achieve a rendered quality in autocad but i want to view it 360°. I made a wrist watch. I also want to animate the clock. Do I use a different software?
@@OTVinta3d Thank you it works just fine just manufactured the system. I have another issue can I use plastic gears at 18k rpm for large planetary system. I may be using PEEK
I tried to translate your question to English using Google Translate, but there were so many mis-spelled words the translation made no sense. Please rephrase, and check your spelling.
I usually click away from AI narration but I am glad I watched; this is exactly what I was looking for.
A lot of gear animation tutorials for Blender, love it! You got a new subscriber :D
oh my god ..i dont think blender can do this things befor. u did hard work ..keep it up ..thanks

Impressive work and instructive tutorial. Bravo man !

It's so nice when he reads the whole bloody URL out :)

Amazing, It is exactly what I look for. Thank you
is it true that the formula for gear ratio = 1+R/S can be used in any circumstance, no matter which one gear out of three is stationary.
A page that deserves to be subscribed.

5:50 It is importent to connect the right point otherwise the bridge tool produces trash ... :-)
Number of pitch and D/P
Hey man , can the same thing be done using drivers ??
Thank you very much! such a great tutorial!!! :)
...hmm i have some problems creating gears with teeth counts around 200.
The teeth overlap at their base on regular gears.
I followed this tutorial to the letter, but when I play back the simulation, the gears just sort of jiggle in place rather than rotate. What gives?
Please contact us via the form at www.otvinta.com/contact.html for further help.
solved the problem?
The .blend file for this tutorial is now available at www.otvinta.com/tutorial04.html.
Having the same problem
rescale all the scene , it will be ok
От винта. 😂👍👍
every single time I do this, going over the steps many times, my animation still jumped and glitches all over the place, what do I do?
can you give a more concrete way of determining teeth counts with different input and output gears because other wise the calculator is flawed.

I just heard Siri's husband say there are more videos, im soooo happy :))))
what happens if i make sun bigger than planet
It works too as long as the rule R = S + 2 * P is satisfied.

Blender 3D
how do you select the top, the bottom and the middle of the gear by one click. please answer fast
Ты гений! Было бы хорошо, если бы ты выложил файл .blend

Thanks a lot ;)

Sorry that Blender has stood down the physics engine now! 🙁
Thnx for online calculator!
