Kudos to Chris, he always asks the right questions without getting in the way of what the artist has to say about the gear. I'm glad that both Premier Guitar and Idles could spare the time to this great Rig Rundown, we got a lot of details. I saw Idles live this summer for the first time. Their sound is really fxking loud and their energy is over the top!
IDLES Rig Rundowns are always an inspiration goldmine and teach me to be self-assured and decisive. Mark's rig in particular is a beautiful experiment in freedom and efficiency.
The first time i heard Idles was their KEXP performance in 2017 or so, and they opened with that super slowed down version of Colossus, and my first impression was "5 unfrozen cavemen started a band," so its funny to hear Mark use the same term
What’s so nice is that I’m 73. I was doing that kind of guitar in 1978 w my friends and felt so alone as I’m a guitar and synths and pedals guys.Nice to have company!✌🏿🤣😊👍🏿👍🏿🌚❤
I'm so glad to bring back IDLES V2 Rig Rundown ... these chaps are lovely humans and insatiable tone hounds - and remember, Never Fight a Man With a Perm!
Great Rig Rundown, as always! Love me some IDLES. So good seeing Montreal Assembly and Red Panda getting so much love... Great sounds, great pedals and awesome visions! Stunning work Premier Guitar. Never less than utterly inspiring.
The Pony Up Daddy Saddle - Princess Pink is a neoprene parent saddle with a padded seat and grab handle for safe and comfortable play pony rides. It fits up to a 50-inch chest size and is made of strong, durable neoprene. The saddle has a Velcro design that makes it easy to put on.
Great interview… a couple of things. I’d say that baritone is definitely fiesta red and not Dakota red… also aren’t Texas Specials overwound and therefore “hotter”?
I was sorta surprised by how cool the bassist is…not that he comes across as a prickly Pete…just that bassists for heavy bands can be “less than understanding”. The whole band seems really open minded. Kinda wish they’d f’around and make an ambient/experimental record. They all share that innocent love for making sounds. Ps:: buying a GARY
@@obahrey5197 Yep I loved watching this during Covid . But than there popularity started growing huge and I'm pretty sure they didn't find the time for going on with this gem.
I'm a pedal freak. I get mildly aroused every time I watch Idles rig rundown. Don't know if they read this but...I didn't see anything by Hologram on their boards. The Dream Sequence and Infinite Jets would fit perfectly in their sound.
It would be cool if you guys cut to the song parts they refer to when they are explaining examples of how they use their specific sounds. I know that’s never been part of the format but I think it would be a super cool step up.
Think you don’t get the point. He jumps into the crowd while playing guitar. In every gig and since years he‘s dancing, crowdsurfing with fans. That means the guitar he‘s using for this has to be rocksolid.
I'm a big fan of IDLES and have been playing bass for well over 20 years, Adam's rig is absolute overkill. Some folks look at a circuit like that as a playground with endless options, I see several dozen potential failure points for a couple slight cuts and boosts he could easily achieve with an active bass 😅

Right on!

Thank you so much for including Dev In this one
Our pleasure!
Glad to see Dan and gig rig get a mention absolute legend
Stoked IDLES just played with BATTLES! Feels like they're on the same page with the electronic music but also rock trip. That had to be an epic show.
I wasn’t expecting a second rig rundown in such a short time! You’re too good to us.
The Idles gig rundowns should just be a monthly episode. These are amazing!
Just lovely blokes too. Very generous video, I learnt a thing or two!
Glad you enjoyed it
So nice to watch Adam's gear, thank you PG!
Our pleasure!
Amazing. Thank you for doing this format to the whole Premier Guitar Team! High Quality Content
Glad you like it!

im so here for this kind of length, detail, and example

I’ve been waiting for this for so long

Thanks PG. keep up the good work…Freon New Zealand.
Much appreciated 🙏🤘

great to see Lee rocking Montreal Assembly Count to Five - what a pedal!
At a time when so many bands are using modelling amps, this is SO refreshing. Creative and cool.
Thanks PG and KK 🙏🤛. Glad I’m the only one who thinks a fishing vest is a kool style vest for fashion 😅🎸🫶👌🇨🇦🤘🇨🇦🤘🔥🔥👍👍🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦👋👋👋
Excellent rundown. These folks are always interesting.
thanks for the video. I love Adam's gear... can't find that Rusty Box anywhere though
13:30 I see a Vongon Paragraph... It must be awesome for small builders when they see this happen!
Saw Idles last night in Glasgow, fantastic. Still blows my mind how they approach playing live. Almost no one does this anymore..❤
Wildly chaotic and punctuated by HUUUUUGE noises, a perfectly fitting Rig Rundown for IDLES!
7:44 we're short in time 😂
I didn’t know Johnny Sins was in a band. ..He truly is the renaissance man of this century 😂
Saw IDLES playing at Dia de los Deftones and they are great live.
A BIG thumbs UP from Santiago Chile South America. Keeping our GAS sindrome alive!
that 1987x not ganged sitting on 2 is a hate crime
Great interview… a couple of things. I’d say that baritone is definitely fiesta red and not Dakota red… also aren’t Texas Specials overwound and therefore “hotter”?
This is godsend!
♥️🔥♥️🔥
We need a second Emma Ruth Rundle RR!!
Its 2008, 'These Arms Are Snakes' want their sound back.
Awesome band, wish they could do a new tour.
Good to see some esquire love
I have a lot of time for Dev. Such a great spirit.
Where's the mpc stuff!
Mark has that Mac DeMarco swag down
I'm confused, is it a Fender Subsonic then? Or at least the neck off one?
Glad to know that Bowen isn't blowing up amps damn near every night now. 🤣
Mark needs to try a Fender Bass VI

Did Chris grow the mustache for this interview?
We need a Idles pedal show 😎
Would be great but I don't know if Dan and Mick are already prepared for something like the Idles guys 😅
They had a show called Genks. Lee and Bo haven’t done an episode in a while.
@@obahrey5197 Yep I loved watching this during Covid . But than there popularity started growing huge and I'm pretty sure they didn't find the time for going on with this gem.
I'm guessing the first guitar player is into fly fishing.
Are vests back??
I *need* that EQD Gary pedal jfc
Chris needs some D'Addario earplugs!
❤🔥
❤❤❤❤❤
Count to 5 gang
I'm a pedal freak. I get mildly aroused every time I watch Idles rig rundown. Don't know if they read this but...I didn't see anything by Hologram on their boards. The Dream Sequence and Infinite Jets would fit perfectly in their sound.
IDLES fucking rule. Period.

I hope their road crew get paid extra
Most innovative Rockband since decades, period
Whats with the tape?🙄
Who else thinks Chris and Mark would make a cute couple
Genial
I removed the tone from my guitar to make it simple and have less parts to fail. BTW, here's my 500 pedals.
Think you don’t get the point. He jumps into the crowd while playing guitar. In every gig and since years he‘s dancing, crowdsurfing with fans. That means the guitar he‘s using for this has to be rocksolid.
Tinnitus? Step this way sir

r/guitarcirclejerk i'll look forward to seeing this
Stinky ....
You don't need all this shit to punk rock
I take it that Bowen has moved to LA. His accent is awful on this.
He is from Northern Ireland yes?
He sounds fuckin awful.
/
is Mark trippin'? lol
1987x on 2…. Like driving a Ferrari in first gear all day, sorry.
X-mas wish list:
Mk.gee
Tried for it earlier this year but he wasn’t ready to divulge the secret sauce, but we’ll keep trying! 🙏
Thank you for trying, Premier Guitar!
