Lyrics:
Well I'm an outlaw
I make my living on the run
My life is lonely
But I was born to need no one
Always on my own
My gun is loaded
I'm a six-shot heart attack
I pull the trigger
So you better watch your back
Looking out for #1 so you had better take this piece of advice
Make your move
Stick 'em up or kiss your ass goodbye
Reach for the sky
Or I will shoot you down in the blink of an eye
Reach for the sky
There's nowhere to run, nowhere to hide
Reach for the sky
I got the drop on you so raise them high
Reach for the sky
I met Firehouse back in 1999 at a club in Richmond VA called Razzle.. After C.J. Shook my hand, I said "keep Rockin".. He looked at me and " Yeah man, We're not gonna quit"... And he wasn't lying.. Very dedicated Front man.. I was buying their records when most of my friends had moved on to Pearl Jam and those other lame bands that came out during the time..I grew up in Richmond and Firehouse was very special to us.. Absolutely great band.. Bill totally influenced me as a guitarist.. I stood about 4 feet from the stage at Razzles and was blown away.. At that time, I only knew basic chords , Now ive been playing for 30 years , and ill never forget those days.. C.J. Snare , Dont rest in peace, Get up and Reach for the universe! God bless Firehouse and all the great songs and Memories. Take care guys!
I'm not familiar with Pearl jam...
one thing that makes him and the band stood out from their peers is the fact that they always go hard no matter how big or small the occasion is!
@@kyogofurahashiand that's the way you are supposed to do it. A job is a job no matter if there's 100 people in a room or 15,000 people in a sold out arena
@gordon9177 my wife laughs at me too when someone brings up Nirvana or any grunge band, I just say I'm not familiar.
Is Razzles located in Shockoe Bottom? I hung out at the Rack and Roll there....great music, food and of course billiards
My Sincerest Condolences to the Family of CJ Snare who passed away from Stage 4 Colon Cancer. He was an AMAZINGLY AWESOME Lead Singer. CJ will be truly missed. Rest In Peace CJ.

RIP CJ😢😢😢
RIP CJ😢 Such an incredible voice and performer. My high school years are filled with many memories of Firehouse both in person and on my stereo. 🙏🙏
Really Sad News Condolences to all his family and Loved ones. That majestic voice will be missed 😢
RIP C. J. Snare (December 14, 1959 - April 5, 2024), aged 64
You will be remembered as a legend.
Rest in Power, CJ Snare. I saw Firehouse debut this song live the day before this album came out. They were opening for Tesla, and it was one helluva show! I saw Firehouse again in the late 2000's. They were opening for Warrant shortly after Jani Lane passed away. Robert Mason had taken over for Lane long before Jani died, but they did acknowledge their former singer's passing.
Back to Firehouse though. CJ Snare sounded just as good then as he did in the early 90's, and the band was as good as ever. Truly another sad loss.
I saw Firehouse open for Warrant in 1991, then Tesla the following year. Fast forward to the 2000's, and saw them at the HOI fair in Peoria (introduced a college-age friend to their music, and he LOVED it!), with an 80's/90's tour a year or so later, then my ex-bf booked them to headline the Taste of Lombard in 2008, because I loved them, and assured him they put on a great, family-friendly show (they delivered).
Hilariously, I'd made the decision to leave that guy the morning after that concert. Because he was such a nightmare, I didn't tell him what I was planning. Giggled with the only friend who knew I was leaving all the way through "All She Wrote'. :D
Working from home today, listening to Firehouse. CJ was such a great, underrated front-man.
I saw Firehouse early last year and sounded almost as good as he did in the early 90s which is really impressive. Glad I got to see him three times live before his passing. RIP 💔
Rest In Peace, CJ. The voice behind a lot of great memories!
It is with a heavy heart that we bid farewell to one the best singers I've ever heard. I worked some Firehouse/Tesla shows in the midwest and he was constantly in tune, pitch, vibrato, breathing, etc and he kicked ass every show I was at. We're gonna miss you. Godspeed Mr. Snare...
Yep. A once in a generation talent
RIP CJ. I'll never forget how hard this song hit when it debuted. Sad to see you go so soon.
A sad loss indeed. Love this song.
Cool to see you here despite the circumstances… One of the genre’s hidden gems, this song!🤘RIP CJ Snare
Bill Leverty is so underrated!
Can't believe the news I heard today about CJ. Rest in Peace, you will be missed and thanks for all the great memories of the 90s.
Welcome 2024! Still rockin' this song? Who's with me??
I just found em!

The 21st century is sadly lacking this awesomeness! Who else agrees?
I absolutely agree the guitar technique is not there anymore
Firehouse kicked ass down here in corpus Christi with Tesla back in '92
@@michaelkrivak5218You are so right on that
Even I can't play a riff that way Billy knew he would play that riff
Speaking for EVERYONE concerned AND in Solidarity, I can honestly say, as a society, we SEVERELY fall short, ESPECIALLY when it comes to the 80s (okay, 1979 and the VERY early 90s were ok…😁!!!)…☹️.
I definitely agree!!!

The 80´s and the 90´s were great bands like Fire House,Dokken,Great White,Def Leppard,Danger Danger,Winger,White Lion,Steelheart,Brave,Warrant,Tesla,Damn Yankees,etc... I still love them.
Ill put ratt in there too lol
Babylon A.D and Baton Rouge
Don’t forget W.A.S.P
I'll put Van Halen in there too
I’m 21 and basically only listen to this genre of music and collect the LP’s. Amazing stuff
we´re in need for this type of music these days ... desperately
So true. A hair metal resurgence would be amazing but I highly doubt it will happen. The closest any modern metal band has come to hair metal is unfortunately Black Veil Brides and most hardcore metal fans wouldn't be caught dead listening to them.
StopMotionHeadBanger I know what you mean and i agree on the BVB matter but the underground movement for this type of music in Scandinavia and some other countries in Europe is getting big , there´s some very good new bands playing this type of music Crazy Lixx , Big Time , etc ... the problem is , the media , specially in America won´t give support to any of this bands , except if they start making some good cash in Europe to the point to call the attention to the market in America ... but the scene is a constant change , let´s wait to see what future holds :)
Phoenix Van Wyden For sure. I know for a fact that if I had a band we'd be playing stuff like this.
StopMotionHeadBanger So would i :) This type of music is simply amazing :) I wanted to start a band as well and play this great music .

It was awesome living in the 80s ... great metal music, partying and lots of good times without a care in the world. Even as a responsible adult, those voices from yesterday still call out to me and I still indulge in the music as it transcends decades
RIP CJ. You were supposed to play a show near me in another week. As time moves on its like the world I grew up in is slowly dying off. So sad. You will be missed.
My Sincere Condolences to the Family of CJ Snare who passed away from illness He was a Very Amazing and Awesome front man for Firehouse love all their music still today he Will be missed by fans Rest in Peace CJ Snare your Rocking with Angels now
I'm 56 years old. I've been listening to rock end heavy metal all my life. Even when it was good in my life, even when it was ugly, music was there, like my good friend. Despite all the problems in life, I'm happy because I have a son,who is a rocker like me.I taught my son what good music is.Sometimes we have a party in the apartment, where my friends are, and my son brings his friends.Good music, good booze, good girls. Some say-clash of generations, haha, but no.This is meeting of generations.Every day, every moment i love my son like no one else, never. And music is here to spice it up. Greetings to all brothers
This is an epic guitar riff. I hope my neighbors like it when I'm shredding it out on my guitar later.
A more upcoming stage awaited him but it just ended up suddenly and shocked the whole world.
May your soul rest in peace!
From Shillong.
Remember guitar solos? What the hell happened??? Long live heavy metal!!!!
Bryan Johnson No One Can Play Their Instruments. Turn the distortion all the way up and beat on the strings.
Sadly, kids today have no appreciation for a smoking guitar solo. Zero! They wouldn't recognize one if it jumped out of their iPod and smashed them in the teeth.
Marty McFly i membuh

Tight, very tight. RIP CJ Snare. Your voice and Firehouse will rock on in our souls forever. 🤟👍🙏
RIP CJ Snare!!! I will NEVER forget meeting you when I was just 13 years old in San Diego, Ca!!! Your music will live on forever!!!
The first time I saw Firehouse was in Shreveport, Louisiana 8/28/1991 on the Blood, Sweat and Beers tour with Warrant an Trixter. From the time CJ Snare screamed “Hello Shreveport”, I knew these guys were awesome. Went the next day and bought the self titled cassette and have seen them many times since. One of the few singers and band of musicians that can still bring it live. These guys have a hard edge to them live, if you’ve never seen them, you’re shortchanging yourself!!
Getting ready to see them again in April. Cannot Wait!!
Underrated doesn't apply... under appreciated is a better term. These guys are so solid. Great song writing, great musicians from top to bottom. Never understood why there wasn't the longevity... Love this band and this song!!
because they debuted in 1990, and this was 1992. They sold millions but the writing was on the wall with the push the seattle heroin bands got
@@camilomontoya7412 probably right, but doesn't make it any less tragic. Peace.
Correcto, underappreciated is the right term.
I read they were popular in Southeast Asia and in Europe. I like them.they’re pretty talented.

Bill Leverty was so underrated as a guitarist, man. Dude was legit.
Bill Leverty is unbelievable!
And a super nice guy too
Still is
I couldn’t agree more man, he’s fucking amazing. I love his style, not sure what ya call those type of power chords. But their the same type of chords Def Leppard, dokken, ratt, and queensryche uses. And their my favorite type of power chords. I use them in the songs I write as well. I think George Lynch called it the gothic Octave
no doubt
Man this song rocks. Nothing beats that 88-93 metal sound - when bands finally merged balls-heavy with melody (instead of being either heavy or melodic). Plus that awesome "big" production we first heard on Whitesnake's 1987.
This is why I wish it was permanently 1993: all of the 80s with these killer bands that spilled into the early 90s. And, fo course, rock was still huge back then!
I couldn't agree with this assessment more! Just take a look at xyz's Hungry (fantastic guitar tone and riffs) with just straight up balls out drums and singing. Other great examples would be Shotgun Messiah's second coming album, along with Wildside's album as well. Just straight up REAL rock without computers processing things like today. Just remember, even the crappiest 80s band had to actually PLAY instruments and sing with their ACTUAL voices. Some even wrote their own music. Reading/writing music along with playing real instruments is equal to speaking a second language. It takes talent and perseverance to pull it off. And yes, late 80s to about 93 (even more so 91-93) just had some killer balls out polished melodic rock. I am 36 so I grew up listening to grunge (which I believe is good music, it's just harder to find good bands and they are few and far between). One positive thing I have found is that I literally discover these early 90s gems almost on a weekly basis, since they were not so prominently known as grunge killed the genre. To me it's like new melodic hard rock is coming out every week lol!
Very well put...that sound peaked around 1990-1992
I was born in 93!
@bucky468 "true metal" lmao shut up
@bucky468 you THINK you do, but thinking and knowing are two different things aren't they? Claim what you want. I know more about rock and metal than you could ever hope to. Put down the band's if you want but I bet they are far better musicians than you, and quoting dave mustane? That's a joke. Look how rush used to dress in the 70s with the robes and slight make up. That could be considered glam, they're blow dave out the water any day of the week. Instead of hating on something and trying to divide it into sub genres just respect all types of rock and metal like any true rock n roller would.
RIP CJ ❤ It was a pleasure seeing you and the boys performing in Shillong, India, in the late 2000's. Thanks for the memories. You guys are Legend out here and appreciated by rock fans out here.

Everyone considered them "Posers" they were Badass live, and they sounded awesome...........
Right you are. Very bad ass live!
They were a poser because their first album was a radio tailored as the most glam sound at that moment. Firehouse was more like the last push from the label to keep the genre alive. Unfortunately MTV made a mistake by turning the whole entire bands into unplug acoustics in the late '92
Yep, I was blown away... saw them on tour with Tesla.
i never considered them posers , and nor did their MILLIONS of fans , they were one of the best live acts ive EVER seen ;)
These guys are far from posers, they blow most of the bands from the 80’s early 90’s out of the water

I grew up with this music, when everyone else was listening to ABBA. Not that I have any axe to grind with those Swedes. But, give me some kick ass metal or hard rock any day of the week!
RIP CJ Snare Thank you for so many years of great music
Always very happy to revisit this band. That voice is so good it gives me goosebumps. Nothing but greatness here!!!
Cj snare is the lead singer...saw these guys, warrant and trixter for my first concert...was an awesome, unforgettable night!
Rest in Peace, CJ 🤘
grunge is not a evolve of rock....grunge killed the real rock, now the music it's just bussines, new bands sucks, 80's bands rules
agree!!!
nothing but true
Glam rock sucks.
Grunge didn't kill this kind of music. MTV did by manufacturing crap bands and shoving it down people's throat for years and years until people were sick of it. I'm neither slamming bands like Firehouse nor defending bands like Nirvana. That's just the way it happened.
Modern metal is better than this shitty glam.
Thanks for all the great music CJ! RIP buddy
he s surely singing this in Heaven ..Resch for the sky man !!! Rip CJ
Best band of the 90's by far.
Ovni Wan Kenobi...lol!
OVI Stop smoking crack
One of the most underrated bands . . . ever
Before the music industry became oversaturated
Awesome video, awesome band and music, saluton from Brazil.
Dylon Zatorski uhuuuuu!!!
Firehouse's guitar intros and solos are awesome
NO DOUBT AT ALL .... AWESOME !
Brante Amsrang Marak and not only that u can tell they came from the heart
CJ Snare can still do this, in 2019! He's f-ing awesome.
And in 2021 as well!! ❤️🎸🎵🎹🎤🥁 CJ and the rest of the band are truly amazing! Just saw them last Thursday at the Wisconsin State Fair and I was in complete awe of the impeccable, flawless vocals which took me back to my favorite era of music! They are a must see!! Their sound is a mirror image of when they debuted and they are an amazing band! Pure talent. 🎵🎸
I love me some hair bands. Such blistering guitar riffs! They sure don't make them like that anymore. Sigh.
A part of 80's hard rock dies everytime a legend goes away.
What a loss ....
