Tale of one coin with two sides. Yes it's a great rock song on the surface level, but flip it over and this song is the decaying stage of what was Hair Metal.
It makes you stop and think about the shortness of life when the people you listened too as a carefree teenager grow old and die. I wonder where my youth went.
I saw Firehouse in 1991, three weeks after I almost died in a car accident. I had to sit for the show but it was worth it. Fast forward to a few years back and I was at their concert with my younger friend. He was wearing my concert shirt from 91 because I'm too fat now, and the drummer pointed at him with a stick and gave him a curious look like "where did you get that?" He pointed at me and I saw the recognition of an original fan. He smiled and nodded his head, and I smiled back. A great memory from a great band.
Saw Firehouse with Tesla in Knoxville TN with my brother. Firehouse brought the freaking house down. Even caught a drumstick! My heart breaks knowing CJ is now gone. Thank God we still have the great songs!! Love you guys ❤!
R.I.P CJ Snare. This was such devastating news hearing about his passing. We love you so much and you’ll forever be missed. Thank you for the amazing music you left us. And your legacy will live on 🤘❤️🕊️

band formed in Charlotte, North Carolina in 1989.[1] The band reached stardom during the early 1990s with hit singles like "Don't Treat Me Bad" and "All She Wrote", as well as their signature ballads "I Live My Life for You", "Love of a Lifetime", and "When I Look Into Your Eyes". At the 1992 American Music Awards, FireHouse won the award for Best New Hard Rock/Metal Band. They were chosen over Nirvana and Alice in Chains.
i’m jealous. haven’t seen them since they played at the Northern Wisconsin State Fair in the 90’s where I got a little hearing loss-CJ yells to the sound guy ‘turn it up!’ and he did and the masses parted in front of the speakers like it was Moses and the Red Sea-I moved up front-loudest band and concert I ever attended. They are awesome!
I was a teen growing up in California when i first heard this song. The memories of the good old days. Damn time flies, nearing age 50 and the memories are still so clear. What happened to this kinda music? R.I.P CJ and thanks for the music and the memories from the music.
I'm reading the comments in April 2024 and just finding out that C.J. Snare's no longer with us. I'm thankful that this video showed up in my recommendations knowing what I know now because I loved this song when I was a kid. I send my condolences to Snare's loved ones and his bandmates.
RIP CJ Snare. Your music was a veritable treasure trove for me in the 90s, carrying me through some very difficult times on the wings of heaven-sent music. 🙏
When music was fun to listen to,rather than screaming noise,to have a head on argument with a wall to,doing 80 in a 50,as you road rage. RIP CJ you and your talent will be greatly missed.
A true anthem of the late 80s early 90s glam rock! I played the shit of my CD when I bought it in 1990 and it's still on my playlist in my truck. RIP CJ Snare!
Def Leppard, firehouse, winger, and whitesnake, big tour Like in 1990! How badass of a show would that have been?! Firehouse was so underrated, loves these dudes
I think Firehouse would’ve made it bigger if they had hit the scene a few years earlier in 1988/89 when hair/glam metal & power ballads were at their peak. A shame that many of these bands got the rug pulled out from under them in late 1991 when Pearl Jam & Nirvana became video staples on MTV. Still a decent & underrated rock band.
I was 16 when this song was released. I loved being a teen in the early 90’s, these songs have so many great memories attached to them, they’ll always be my classics.
Ditto! I was also 16 when this came out. Unfortunately, grunge came out shortly after some of these bands who had amazing music in 90 /91 & music & the culture shifted, sadly. I say sadly because in hindsight most grunge bands sucked; the musicianship & talent wasn’t even close with the exception of bands like Soundgarden & STP.
Certainly better than most of what came after. It's amazing to think about how people used to complain about glam metal and, in the 70's, disco music. It's like, do you not know how much worse it can get? Clearly they could never fathom something like nu metal, pop-punk, or mumble/fap rap. Yeah hair metal had a lot of cheese and much of it was formulaic, but I'll take ANY hair band over any post-grunge, nu metal, or butt-rock band of the late 90's onward. Maybe had people known what would've come after the mainstreaming of punk killed every quality standard in the 90's, they wouldn't have been so eager to embrace it.
I dont think in history, but I do think they came out at just the wrong time where the genre was being enveloped by crap grunge. They were an awesome band, and their music lives on. Louisiana 504 area code here bobby. I think worst in history had to be Zebra.
I have to agree. This song has so many similarities to modern Rock. They undoubtedly were an inspiration, and they got overlooked from the competition. I have to listen to their LP's now.
Most underrated band in history is XYZ, as evidenced by the fact nobody knows who they are. Look up their songs "Nice Day To Die", "Souvenirs" and "What Keeps Me Loving You" for verification. That being said, Firehouse definitely rocked far above the level of appreciation they received. It's unfortunate grunge and old school rock couldn't coexist in the record label's minds. It robbed us of some serious awesomeness.
Rest in peace CJ SNARE. we are blessed to have been in the generation graced with your music and your voice and your fire. My deepest condolences to your family and to the band #firehouse.

I saw them when they were still known as White Heat.
U never knew that. Thats awesome considering how much hair metal was struggling.
actually the band formed in various line ups in the 80s, first got signed in 1989
They beat out Alice in Chains ? They're not that good lol
although nirvana and aic were grunge rock! not real rock! good bands as well but not the traditional rock sound like firehouse gave us.
I was lucky enough to see Firehouse perform on a triple bill with Trixter and Warrant back in the '90s. Now both Jani and CJ are gone. RIP:(

Yeah they came at the tail end of the hair metal era in 1990-91 when it was already winding down. This would've blown up in 87-88 probably
Agreed...obviously they could write them and play them, just sounded a little out-of-step with the times
No doubt
I can tolerate Pearl Jam, but Nirvana just does nothing for me.
