I remember on MTV Bevis and Butthead were counting the top 10 hottest female rockers and these two came in at #1. I laughed so hard because it was unexpected.
When i was starting 7th grade my best friend bought a binder and folders with these two on it because they were "hot chicks". When told him they were guys I got to watch him die a little that day. I still bring this up at get togethers today.
The girl group Wilson-Phillips started out around the same time this guys did and I remember thinking back then while watching their video on mtv that these brothers looked prettier than the sisters.
Same and I had just moved to a neighborhood that I end up meeting my first love at. And I can't believe it's almost been thirty-three years ago when this came out in the summer and when I met him and moved around here.
Once upon a time, when this thing called "MTV" played music videos... great times. After all these years, still a great song (and they played music instruments too, a rarity).
It amazing to me to look at these videos from the MTV era. Imagine the cost of producing a video like this: several sets, wardrobe changes, lighting, cameras, editing, etc. It must have cost a small fortune, just to produce a short video to occasionally be played on a music video network.
Don't hate the Nelson twins for being pretty. They still bring in the chicks at their concerts to this day. BTW, they were good musicians that played on their own instruments.
Saw Nelson about 10-15 years ago as an opening act for Styx and Peter Frampton. They finished their set by doing Garden Party by their dad Rick and had Tommy Shaw come out and sing it with them! That was a cool moment
Meet these guys almost 20 years ago. Very nice and personal. Did their music along with their dads and grandparents. They even sang a song to a elderly woman who just lost her husband months before. Had all us employees in tears.
I listened to this Rock band in the 1995,and tried playing my father's guitar to the bass of this classy rock band..I still have collection of Nelson music..This is the best hit I listen to..🙏🏼🇵🇬
I was an MTV kid too!! We'd sit and watch it all day long. I was only like 9 or 10, but I had the biggest crush on these two! The songs were great too! long live Nelson!
"Melodic" is what's missing from most music (and missing from hip hop and jazz). Quality melody structure was the constant that tied in everything from opera, swing, pop, Motown, and hard rock. Missing and no where to be found except in oldies. Nice job Nelson.
@@MaxGiganteum True, but while it's easy to recognize melody, describing it in words is something else entirely. For instance, on-line definitions say a string of notes that is "musically satisfying". That doesn't quite explain it. I'm also convinced that people who are tone deaf can't distinguish a melody.
I remember when we moved to Murfreesboro, TN in 1990. I started my Junior year in high school and met Sean, who had (still has it) a 1969 GTO. We became friends and hung out. He'd always listen to the latest rock songs in that GTO when we would cruise around town. This is one of the songs that he really liked. I remember him rewinding it to play again multiple times. Several years later, I brought it up that he had this album on cassette and that he loved this song. He flatly denied it. A year or two later, we were rummaging through his old cassettes and I found Nelson. I picked it up and hid it. I again, brought up the fact that he loved Nelson and played the cassette all the time. He denied it again saying he never wanted that album and didn't buy it. He didn't know what to say when I revealed the cassette to him.
They are what I like to think are angels on earth. These two, such a rare treasure for the world ❤. Only a few times in my life have I been lucky enough to encounter some such beautiful people. Music is so special.

Female ?! 😂
Totally epic moment!
I loved MTV in the 80's!
I finished building my time machine. Who would like to go back to the 80's and 90's with me?🙃🤟
Me! Definitely!
🤚
Yes please!
Do we have to come back to 2024?
Ok, I'll bring the wine
Only family to have 3 generations with a #1.
Di d Ozzy and Harriet have one
Ozzie was a big band leader so chances are....
Bradly197 yeap.
Simple Ceremonies Of Elegance And Affordability : Ricky's father, Ozzie Nelson was a bandleader and he had a #1 hit in 1935.
but it is kinda sad to know there wont be 4th generation with r.1 :/
Great to listen to this song after nearly 30 years! I had the album on cassette, I was 15 at the time, brings back so many memories from those days.
Same and I had just moved to a neighborhood that I end up meeting my first love at. And I can't believe it's almost been thirty-three years ago when this came out in the summer and when I met him and moved around here.
Just saw these guys last week and it felt like I was back in the 80s. They still rock!
Same. I was comparing the short I posted to this. They sound perfect
Do they look old? Like, I can't imagine that for some reason😊
Lately I've been randomly getting songs from this era in my head.
This is what grunge took away from us. The 90's could have been filled with this kind of awesome music.
You are totally right 💯!
Listening with my 1 month old daughter. Hope you all feel as blessed as I do.
That acoustic part is gold
Wish our kids would just listen
These boys come from good stock! ❤❤
This was absolutely my favorite song in the summer of 1990. I will always love nelson, their father was a superstar, and so were they.
Same my favorite song then too
Great song , brings back memories.
Once upon a time, when this thing called "MTV" played music videos... great times.
After all these years, still a great song (and they played music instruments too, a rarity).
Before it was smut there was a awesome music channel
There dads blood ran in their veins
It amazing to me to look at these videos from the MTV era. Imagine the cost of producing a video like this: several sets, wardrobe changes, lighting, cameras, editing, etc. It must have cost a small fortune, just to produce a short video to occasionally be played on a music video network.
If only music nowadays sounded like this.
This was the nail in the coffin of the hair bands....
Oh, please.... 😂
Don't hate the Nelson twins for being pretty. They still bring in the chicks at their concerts to this day. BTW, they were good musicians that played on their own instruments.
David Buswa Exactly. They both play guitar very well, better than most the people whining in the comments here favorite guitarists can.
David Buswa Of course, and they are the sons of the late, great Ricky Nelson!
Didn't know they still had concerts.
***** They play on the casino circuit. It is a very lucrative deal.
+David Buswa Brett Garsed on lead guitar. He is a monster player.
They sound great! Handsome like their beautiful Dad...... Rick! Miss him.♥️♥️✌️
God you could not find a more hotter duet than Nelson back in the day. Even hotter now than back then
I just cant go on this way anymore, And as hard as i try there's one thing that i know for sure. I CANT LIVE WITHOUT YOUR LOVE... EPIC LYRICS.
Songs like these don't die, they remain amongst the greatest
Saw Nelson about 10-15 years ago as an opening act for Styx and Peter Frampton. They finished their set by doing Garden Party by their dad Rick and had Tommy Shaw come out and sing it with them! That was a cool moment
I was literally just thinking “ I hear some Tommy Shaw similarities in their voices”!
Always loved this song!!! It’s still just as good as it was back then🥰
Mock all you want, these guys were good musicians, period.
I just watched an interview with Gunnar on Daze with Jordan the Lion. What a down to earth guy. Much respect for these guys.
Heard this song today after many years. I always loved this song and today it made me dance and happy 😊. This song is a hit 💥💥
Meet these guys almost 20 years ago. Very nice and personal. Did their music along with their dads and grandparents. They even sang a song to a elderly woman who just lost her husband months before. Had all us employees in tears.
These guys are still playing and very talented
This brings back so many memories!
Agreed!
I understand exactly what you mean but I can't really put it into words, how would you define "melodic"?
If you don't know it when you hear it... then you either never learned what it means OR you're simply tone deaf! 🤔🤦🏻♂️
@@MaxGiganteum explain what melodic is theb oh wise one
@@MaxGiganteum True, but while it's easy to recognize melody, describing it in words is something else entirely. For instance, on-line definitions say a string of notes that is "musically satisfying". That doesn't quite explain it. I'm also convinced that people who are tone deaf can't distinguish a melody.
They have good harmony..
Very late 80's feel....
All these years later, and now 51 still have to crank this every time it comes on the radio!
NOT THERE YET, BUT I STILL DO THE SAME!!👱♀️💕👱♀️👍
I'm 54, same age as them and I'm still blasting it on the radio!
I just discovered this song 5 minutes ago playing in Walgreens. Had to search it
I remember when we moved to Murfreesboro, TN in 1990.
*rewinding it* those were the days 🌸
This is a guilty pleasure of mine, I have to admit
They are what I like to think are angels on earth. These two, such a rare treasure for the world ❤. Only a few times in my life have I been lucky enough to encounter some such beautiful people. Music is so special.
Ricky is proud ... Damn PROUD ! ❤️
I miss the harmony...and the actual SINGING back then...
Yesss i found them through their dad cause i love the oldies. Everybody thinks it's weird but this stuff is better than any modern song i've ever heard!
why do you miss it? You have an internet connection, just click on the song you want.
