Lyrics:
Ricky was a young boy, he had a heart of stone
Lived nine to five and he worked his fingers to the bone
Just barely out of school, came from the edge of town
Fought like a switchblade so no one could take him down, no
He had no money, no
No good at home
Walked the streets a soldier and he fought the world alone
And now it's
Eighteen and life, you got it
Eighteen and life, you know
Your crime is time and it's eighteen and life to go
Eighteen and life, you got it
Eighteen and life, you know
Your crime is time and it's eighteen and life to go
Tequila in his heartbeat, his veins burned gasoline
It kept his motor running but it never kept him clean
They say he loved adventure, "Ricky's the wild one"
He married trouble, had a courtship with a gun
Bang-bang, shoot 'em up, the party never ends
You can't think of dying when the bottle's your best friend
And now it's
Eighteen and life, you got it
Eighteen and life, you know
Your crime is time and it's eighteen and life to go
Eighteen and life, you got it
Eighteen and life, you know
Your crime is time and it's eighteen and life to go
Yeah, yeah
"Accidents will happen," they all heard Ricky say
He fired his six-shot to the wind
And that child blew a child away, yeah, yeah
Hey, hey, yeah, yeah, yeah
Eighteen and life, you got it
Eighteen and life, you know
Your crime is time and it's eighteen and life to go
Eighteen and life, you got it
Eighteen and life, you know
Your crime is time and it's eighteen and life to go
Yeah
Whoa, whoa, whoa

Oh my gosh, this is the first time I’ve even ever heard this. What is wrong with with me greetings from Portland, Oregon

There will never be another decade like the 80s in terms of music. Timeless music that absolutely blows the doors off of current stuff

@@LightWolf_91 I didn’t know that
Crazy voice! His range was from another planet. He certainly had one of the best voices of all the rockers from his age.

'80 '90 will never die I think and we will not forget them
That’s exactly what will happen, the 80’s and 90’s are gone. They were the good old days. Now as we who were lucky enough to live through those times die off, the memory of those times will fade, sure they may get a few hits for a while on 80’s music, but it will all fade away. I feel blessed to have lived through the best times in history. But my parents said the same of the 60’s. Memories only last as long as the people who carry them. And times move on, they don’t come back, no matter how much we wish they would
Thats it! Young at heart 4 life! Fck the boomers of 2days. They would 've been uncool in the 50th.
well said man ;) the best two legendary and bibliac decades of hard rock and heavy metal

The lyrics pure poertry!
Here I am, 61 years old and still head banging! Cut my teeth on the likes of Black Sabbath, Deep Purple, AC/DC, KISS, and formost Judas Priest. To this day I'm still a Metalhead and crank up my sounds wherever I can, my SUV is a stereo on wheels.
I'm 61 and still listening to this
Take your meds on time really
The end of this song always gets me. Sebastian sounds like he’s mourning the loss of this kids innocence so much. It’s incredible.
Had he could've been saved if a civilian with a pure heart and human soul saw the pain in him... 😔😥
The upper range wails of Sebastian Bach at the end gave me the chills. Still do to this day. One of the best ballads written in my opinion.

Amazing song and message. Describes perfectly how quickly a young man can fuck up his life by acting tough and hanging with the wrong people. And it’s really relevant to the time period when it comes to 80s crime rates and gang fights

My father suffered from cancer a majority of his life. He knew he was going to die young, but kept fighting. He played gutair as if a God controlled his hands. He was abused as a child on top of being born with cancer. He made it to 47, and requested us to play this song when he took his last breath.
