The guy collecting the rubbish 😍! As you were walking to your gate I got Perth VA terminal vibes but a lot of the oval shape (I guess that is a good explanation for the rounded terminal shape) look similar just different decor. HK is a place I would love to visit one day, it looks like a really easy city for tourists to get around. The recycling centre was pretty impressive, especially since we don’t have things like that in Aus.
YES I love the Perth VA terminal! The street and station names in HK and Singapore are anglicised so it's easier for English-speaking people to visit! HK will charge for general waste disposal next year, as a recycle geek, I'm all for it 🤣 I love my Direct Collect bin in Adelaide

For SGD70 it is quite a steal! And the seat does look really comfy. Im surprised that this A320 is quite quiet as compared the one I had taken on jetstar asia 😂
Ahah, different engine for sure! The Jetstar ones are shaped like a hair dryer. Similar to A330 (rolls royce)/340 and I think they are louder😂😂
I love HK, such a dynamic and vibrant city by day and night! I used to live & work in HK, best time of my life. Great vlog!

Great video, Jayden - especially the vlog! I can't remember seeing so much of your "home base" before. Oooh, the food...made me hungry! It was interesting to see the "old" economy seats on the Hong Kong Airlines A320 - comfort and legroom of a bygone era. Ha ha! I remember seats like that in the 1980s and 1990s on US domestic carriers.
Greetings from Japan Britt! Got a tatami here to edit my videos 😂 much better. Right!! I remember those seats on Oriental Thai 747-200 and old Cathay planes when I was a kid🤓

Those disposable cups on the plane are quite unique and colorful.
In reference to the comfiness of those older seats ...I think sometimes older can be better !😂
Loved the vlog at the end with you guys hanging out. It's great to set that side of things.
I actually find the Qantas 737 seats ok, they're even older (though it had been "refreshed" a few years ago)
but only if there were a bit more legroom 🤣
Always look forward to Jayden Thursday! Great report as usual. Love the wind up sound of the A320 engines! The cabin might be old school, but I think that's better than what's on offer (apart from no entertainment). Have to say I've always been impressed with HKG transport, far superior to Sydney's transport. BTW, the cabin crew on your flight were definitely good eye candy (as I say to my husband, it's ok to window shop, just don't purchase) 😂
THB Sydney isn't too bad, LOVE the double deck trains. But a bit expensive and not reliable when there's a shower 🤣

Good to see HX slowly bouncing back- among my proudest achievements were bringing the HKA Cultural Ambassador program to life at VA back in 2017, and operating the inaugural HKG-MEL flight. Great crew and fun times!
Great video, Jayden! While not flashy, it seems your flight was a great value for the money. I actually like the old seats. They tend to have more padding than the new slimline seats these days. You know you’re an av geek when you compare the price of gelato to a RyanAir ticket! 😂 you’re vlog makes me want to get back to HK soon.
Hi Mike! In Sydney now. The same gelato is $6.5 here (4.11 USD). HK was $70 (8.94 USD). CRIMINAL!!

Great video Jayden, a bit sad to see the former Thai a380s parked up Suvarnabhumi Airport but loved the vlog, it reminded me of my trip to Hong Kong in 2019, gutted I missed the Cathay Pacific shop although I would have probably sent too much money😊but I did visit the site that once was Kai Tak
Yep, sad to see some of them rusting too, wonder if they will ever reactivate some of them. Seem like a waste to let them sit there.
Haha yes the Cathay shop is expensive! Bought a Cathay towel for $500 hkd 🤣could've flown this flight again!

As a hong konger myself, the paper cup was my favorite due to its traditional design. Great detailed trip reports as usual, keep up the good work 💪
wish cathay would have something similar, although they're doing quite well design-wise with their simple, green & white design.
@@JaydenWong I would complain about the seats on cathay 😂 Flew with them back in July on a B777-300ER to Tokyo and the seats were pretty cramped 🥲. I would say maybe they want to make the airline feel more international so they used simple designs that stuck to their color schemes

I love a good IFE as much as the next man. But a good seat is FAR more important. If you travel often, its a must.
agree, I have Netflix anyway, IFE is a bonus on short flights.

Nope! I've wondered why, looks like for SE Asia they're funnelling people through CX and QR. I saw quite a lot of BA boarding passes on my flight to Hanoi in July.
Great video as always! I really do miss the times when HX served hot meals and offered IFE, but for such a low price it’s hard to complain. Do you think HX will reintroduce meals and IFE in the future?
No idea, they look comfortable with their current situation?! But I do hope so! And bring back the proper partnerships with other airlines like Virgin Australia!!

The only time I recalled flying Hong Kong Airlines was when I was working in hkg some 7 or so years ago on a short flight from hkg to Tpe and I enjoyed it too...great value for money...❤

Well done Jayden and for Hong Kong Airlines they are the Sister Airline for Hainan Airlines exterior being the same as the B787 with Hainan Airlines while interior has the same red seats. Speaking of Hong Kong Airlines they used to do HKG-MNL with CX 5J and PR. They need to restart HKG-MNL that way it's a competition to CX/UX Air Asia Philippines PR and 5J. This A320 is almost exactly the same as a PR A320 with all Fiesta Class seats

haha yes that’s the thing with one massive concourse/terminal. HKG is similar but you got trains. Istanbul is even bigger🤯

Hey Jayden. Seems their business class is as well since they don't offer any inflight entertainment from HKG to BKK. Now this was months ago and I don't know if they have changed and started to offer it. They also nixed the slippers (long haul) you were able to ask for as well. But in fairness a business class ticket of HX is up to 60-70% of comparable airlines on this route like Emirates, Cathay, Thai Airways pending your choice of dates and time of your flight. Their late flight 22:45 can be had for close to 4000 HKD RT sometimes

haha HX is comfier I suppose, and not completely low cost. Was gonna book GBA for this trip but I booked onwards to NRT and HX worked out to be a lot cheaper
